One Chief Position in One Org Unit

Hi
I want to restrict the number of chief positions in an org unit. One org unit should have only one chief position.
Please guide me on how to achieve this.

Dear Minal,
Use T-code-OOZR create an entry with the combination
O-1001-B012-S-0, so that you can restrict 1position as chief of the org unit. In case you want to change the chief then, select another position of the unit and create chief position, automatically earlier position's chief relationship record is deleted.

HI,
In PPOM I am unable to view two chief position for an 'X' org unit. I have checked in other 'Y' org. unit ( having similar attributes) and there two chief positions are displayed. The validity period and other relationship in both the org units are same.
Can any suggest on how the two cheif positions are displayed for X org unit. (The client is stating that when Y org unit can display two chief positions then why not X org unit).

What is the error or message that you are getting?
By default SAP allows an Org Unit to have multiple Chiefs assigned to it. Are you able to manually assign the relationship to that position via PO13?

Can a position be linked to more than one org unit by A012 relation in SRM?

Hi All,
In the HR Org structure in ECC, a position (S) can have more than one A012 relation with different organization units (O).
For example:
S 123 has a A012 relation with Org unit A; validity date: 04/04/2006 to 12/31/9999
S 123 has a A012 relation with Org unit B; validity date: 06/01/2006 to 12/31/9999
org unit B falls under Org unit A in the Org unit hierarchy structure.
But, in SRM I find that only one relation A012 linking S to O can be maintained, which is:
S 123 has a A012 relation with Org unit B; validity date: 06/01/2006 to 12/31/9999
I tried passing the data again through PFAL transaction (update mode), but the data in SRM does not change.
Is this standard behaviour? Can't a person manage more than one org unit in SRM?
I am currently working on SRM 5.0 with ECC 6.0 as backend.

This functionality only relates to users who are professional
purchasers. It means that they can be responsible for more than one
purchasing group. In past releases, they were responsible for the
purchasing group that they hung from in the org structure. Since some
customers wanted that they could be responsible for more than one
purchasing group, but the system would not allow the purchaser to belong
to more than one org unit. Hence they introduced the new functionality
that I described above. However it is not technically possible for a
user to belong to more than one org unit since this would lead to
inconsistencies in the way that the attributes work.

Mass updates to move lots of positions to one org unit

Hi All,
Can anybody tell me in SAP whether there is a transaction or way to perform mass updates to move lots of positions to one org unit ?
Our users have to perform Re-org changes so they would like to know whether there is a way to move positions at once.

I am assuming that your requirement is to move mass users from One Org node to another. Ex One Plant Org node to Another plant Org node.
If my assumption is correct then, please follow the below steps.
1) Go in to the change mode of Org Plan using T-code PPOMA_BBP
2) Using shift key, select all the users that you need to move.
3) Drag and Drop the selected users to the desired Org node.
If the user IDs are not in sequence then you can use Ctrl key to select the relevant user ID.

Moving position, costcenter and personal area from one Org unit to other

Hi All,
I have requirment like one perticular PERNR i have one Org unit position costcenter and personal area. I wanted to move this PERNR position ,personal area and costcenter into new Org Unit.
I mean The PERNR Org unit needs to change with out changing the position personal area and costcenter.
Could any one tell me best way to do this.

Transfer one position from One Org unit to another -For multiple positions

Hello All,
I want to know is there any easy way to transfer one position form one org unit to diff org units? I <b>dont want to delete the position</b>, infact I want to transfer the same position (the position Id will remain same) to another org unit.
I need to do multiple positions, hence pls suggest an easy way to do so.
I know it can be done thorugh<b> PPOM -by drag & drop option ,</b> but the transfer record does not get stored in IT 0000 (actions) for the respective pers no.
Hence, I want to easy wat, where we can do it for many positions , aslo the record gets stored in IT 0000. I tired with PA40, transfer action....
but still more easiest way?

How to copy the positions and their relationships of one org.unit to other

f there about 20 organization units among which 6 org.units have same positions and same relationships ,i know that we can create one org.units and their relationships among 6 similar org.units and then copy the same position and relationships to other 5 org.units as well instead of individually creating positions and assigning relationships to them which results in wasting a quality time.but i dont know how to copy it? so please help me by informing me in details how to copy the positions n their relationships to other org units.

Hi.
This may sound like a bit of a pain in the *** but why not save the channel strip settings into your own folder then that way you can open them up in other songs and you have some channel strips to try out when you cant find anything else to fit. Plus its fun to open up lots of different audio onto the tracks and see what the effects sound like, Brian Eno style.....

Hi Saumya,
First you have to decide on the relationships you want for this position. The question is - who will decide pay increases for this position?...who will approve vacation time? That manager is the one who is the directly managing the position and so the position must be in the org structure for that manager's org unit.
Second, what is the relationship to the other manager? This is usually a "dotted-line" or functional reporting relationship to another position. You can use a standard relationship such as 005 or create your own.
Then you can use the Matrix to create the two relationships. Easy Access: Human Resources --> Organizational Managment --> Organizational Plan --> Matrix (transaction PPME). Use the "Standard selection" and create the two relationships between the position and the org unit and other position (or other object depending on your requirement).

I just want to mimic the Drag & Drop option available in PPOMA_BBP.
In the background system is using a FM "OM_CREATE_NEW_RELATIONS". I am trying to use this FM in similar way . But, it is not moving the CP and Position.

You can run headcount changes report - S_L9C_94000095 with action type organizational reassignment if you are making organizational unit modifications via PA40 - org reassignment action.

Hi,
There is no way you can restrict the users in creating no of positions.
Better to have approval process for the positions to be created.Which might restrict the users.
As the objects have different statuses planned,approved,active..etc..

Update table HRP1001. Change the Position and the Org Unit.

I am new to SAP HR and have been given a work in this area. The requirement is to update the relationship table HRP1001 replacing the old Manager' Position and the Org Unit with the New Manager's Position and the Org. Unit.
I have some how found out the way to get the Postion and the Org unit of the old manager. Now I am replacing the same with the new details using the Update HRP1001 Command but this is the old and not recommended method acheiving this task.
Can anyone please suggest me any Function Module OR the BAPI to update the HRP 1001 table with the New MAnager;s Position and the Org Unit.

I am using the FM: 'BAPI_HRMASTER_SAVE_REPL_MULT'but still not updating. I am trying to change the Position and the Org unit but not successful yet.
I first used the Operator 'I' withi the table BAPIHROBJ-OPERATOR, it failed then I tried 'U' for update it still failed. Can you please let me know how many such operations possible with their charecter values apart from I & U. the domain value set does not exist as it is char1.
Now I came to know that I have to terminate the old relationship by changing the ENDDA and create a new one with the new BEGDA as tomorrow's date.
Can you please suggest something.

This is not allowed in standard system.
Each position/org unit should exist only once in the org structure.
To assign a position to more than one org unit you need to implement a "matrix organization" by using "dotted relationships".

Positions assigned to Org Units

Dear Consultants,
There are some designations / Positions (like Clerk / Assistant etc) common in more than one departments. How can we assign it in System?? When we assign any designation to the second department, the first assignment is delimited automatically.
can we specify that a person is working in a specific org unit? I think it is determined upon the Position.

Expecting that you are still looking out for replies, let me clarify one thing.
The Positions that you have mentioned here (like Clerk / Assistant etc) are not Positions, but Jobs. Jobs generally tell you what kind of activity is involved, whereas positions are specific individual employee assignments. You can create a Job and use that to Describe various positions. But each of these positions can Belong to one Org Unit (Department) only.
