One computer showing up twice

I have network magic pro 5.0 with a wrt160n v3 router.on my network .I am using windows 7.One of my computers is showing up on the map twice,once as laptop second as workstation.The workstation is coming up as not having network magic installed causing an alert.How can I delete the workstation from the network?

Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details.

Email from *one sender* shows up twice (but isn't delivered twice)

Today the emails from one particular sender started showing up twice in the view pane of Mac Mail. They aren't delivered twice - just show up as though two copies have come in. If I delete one copy then both disappear.
There is nothing special about this particular sender - she is not a "VIP". We have been corresponding for several weeks without anything odd happening.
I'm running 10.9.5 on my MBP and use POP accounts in Mail. The account to which she is using to contact me is via my personally-owned domain. I receive hundreds of emails on a daily basis to that email address and have no issues with other senders. She is using her personally-owned domain for email as well.
Any ideas on what is happening?
For what it's worth, since upgrading to this OS Google Chrome - particularly when using Facebook or performing Google searches - has slowed dramatically. I'll address that in a separate post but thought it was worth mentioning here in case it's related.

Alternatively there may have been a syncing issue which left orhpaned entries in the iPods database. Try swiping across the album and deleting both copies, then resyncing.

I uploaded on my itune onece, but it shows up on my itouch twice.. same album... i don't know how to get rid of second one from the music on my itouch.. it doesn't show up on the computer..

We upgraded to Mavericks on two computers at work, and now Favorites from one computer show, while Favorites from the other don't. The same AppleID was used for the upgrade on both computers, but we have separate logins.

At work, we upgraded to Mavericks on two iMacs, using the same AppleID. Now, in Safari, the Favorites bar shows only my coworker's faves on both computers, and my Bookmarks are in the bookmark listing, also showing on both computers. How can we fix this, so that I only see my Favorites and Bookmarks and she only sees hers?

I hope it's okay that I post about my progress with this!
I restarted both computers and tested our Safari connection by deleting a couple of bookmarks on my computer. They did NOT delete from the other computer, so that problem seems to be resolved. I'm not sure what will happen if she signs back into iCloud, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Home Sharing Issue - deleted movies from one computer show up in other

Hi Everyone:
I have searched for an answer to this issue, but have yet to find it, which is why I am posting.
I added some mv4 ripped movies to iTunes, but deleted them, moving the file to trash. I do not see them in my iTunes library. When I go into my wife's iTunes and use Home Sharing to access my computer's iTunes, the deleted movies are visible. I have logged out of Home Sharing and logged back in, but they still show up. I want to get rid of them from Home Sharing. If I deleted them on my computer, they should not show up elsewhere.

I've solved the problem and I wish I could just delete my previous post, but I guess I cannot. The movies I thought were deleted were listed under a different catagory in iTunes, which I found by searching for the file extension in Spotlight. Once I found them, I deleted them and they stopped showing up in Home Sharing.

I put office for MAC on my macbook air--it somehow shows up twice and documents load out there depending on which one you pick. I need to get all of the office installiations off and reinstall but it appears to leave one out there. When I go to applications I cannot see it but I can see it on the icon line on the bottom of the screen. How can I reinstall Office for Mac so there is only one installation on my computer ?

Unfortunately the information given to you by r8er is incorrect, deleting the Office folder from Applications only partially uninstalls Office.
Here are the correct uninstallation instructions for you.

My ipod is showing as corrupt on one computer but not corrupt on another computer

My ipod (5th gen classic) was working fine. I connected it to my desktop where i store my library but it showed as corrupt. I restored it as per suggestion but it still says it is corrupt. When I connect the same ipod to my laptop itunes recognizes the ipod and asks me to go through the new ipod set up steps. Why is one computer saying ipod is corrupt and the other computer is not?
I have tried bypassing the usb hub on my desktop and connecting directly to the usb card, but that did not work. I also went through the 5 R's twice but still does not work.
I also tried changing the drive letter for the ipod as per another article I found on line but that also does not work.
I could use my laptop if I could import my music from my media server to the itunes library on my laptop but itunes does not recognize the media server as a disk location. My music appears under Shared...but cant sync shared to my ipod (at least I don't think i can).
If anyone can help that would be great.

So you are plugging your iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port that is directly located on your PC's motherboard?
My suspicison is that is somesort of driver or software conflicts with iTunes your iPod that is causing iTunes to not properly recognize the device. Have you tried removing and re-installing all Apple related software? Use the instructions in this article to walk you through the process.

It wouldn't hurt to also check and make sure all the BIOS, firmware, drivers, and chipsets are up do date on your system.

My understanding is that rented movies can be viewed on only one device - the device that originally received the movie. Consequently, they can not be synced.

No. Frequently the apps take up more storage space on the iPod that the file download size.

If you bought those on disc I don't think they are part of the Cloud
The serial number is usually on a sticker on the disc holder inside the box

that is odd! that should not be happening.
Are you syncing your songs right off of itunes itself? because it should be syncing over to the ipod however it is listed in itunes.

Some of my songs in iTunes show up but they won't play. I get the message that my computer isn't authorized to play them when I only have one computer.

I recently did the update for iTunes and after I did that I got the error message: MSVCR80.dll file not found. I followed the suggestions from someone in this community to fix it and now some of my songs aren't playing. And they are the ones that I purchased from iTunes not CDs that I have and ripped to my iTunes library. I can see the songs listed in my iTunes library as well as on my iPod but yet they won't play. On my computer I get the message that this computer is unauthorized to play them and to authorize it. I only have one computer, so I have no idea why I'm getting this message. And does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get all of the iTunes songs to play again?

It sounds like you have some songs in your library that are not playing, and when you try to play them you are being told the computer is not authorized to play them. I would start by verifying that your computer is still authorized, and take note of the Apple ID that you sign in with:
To authorize a computer, follow these steps:
Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Authorize This Computer from the menu bar.
You may need to show the menu bar to see this option in Windows. In earlier versions of iTunes, you can access this option from the Advanced menu.
Enter your Apple ID and click Authorize.
If your Apple ID uses an expired MobileMe account, you can still authorize your computer.

Open iTunes
Highlight one of the items you have purchased (You can find your purchases in your Purchases playlist).
Choose File > Get Info.
Click the Summary tab.
The Account Name area will list the account used to purchase the item. Unless you have changed accounts, this is your iTunes Store account name.
If it is the same Apple ID then I would next delete the song, and re download it from your purchased history, with this article named:

Home sharing is turned on on both of my computers but only one computer is showing the icon.

I have both of my computers turned on and home sharing is turned on on both computers as well but only one computer is showing the icon so I can't share. I have tried turning off the home share and turning it back on but nothing changed.
Any suggestions?

i just purchased a file that had videos in it. i put them in the itunes library on my pc where i first downloaded them. i was able to transfer them to my other pc, a laptop, through my home network. i am now trying to get them on my mac pro desktop and my ipad2. my mac pro can see the other computers on my home network but i cannot get it to connect to them. i know the operating systems are different but was hoping i could transfer pictures and files from pc to mac this way. haven't been able to get it to work yet. the videos i am trying to get my mac to see came in a folder with both mac and pc versions. i thought if i got the videos i purchased into itunes that i would then be able to get them to my mac pro and my ipad2. i am new to mac/apple and have always been pc-centric so trying to marry it all has been difficult. i speak pc pretty well but am just learning apple. am i trying to do things that are not possible? i sure could use a knowledgable friendly soul to walk me through my issues of having pc and mac on the same network. i have been able to get all computers and ipad to print on my network. thanks.
