One finder window not behaving...any ideas?

Hi all,
For some reason, double-clicking Macintosh HD brings up a window minus sidebar and icon toolbar across the top - no other windows do this and it does it across all user accounts (whether previously created or new).
Opening a new window operates as it should and the resulting window looks exactly as it should (i.e. the default leopard scheme). Even navigating back to Macintosh HD in this new window works fine.
I've tried closing the windows in various orders, deleting the prefs files and "customize toolbar" is greyed out for this window only. I've also tried repairing disk permissions with no improvement.
Any ideas would be greatfully appreciated!

Open a window to Macintosh HD, then click the little button on the right side of the window's titlebar. Alternatively, open a window to Macintosh HD and press Command-Shift-T or View Menu->Show Toolbar. That should clean things up.

Unfortunately, you can't change or etrieve them by yourself as you forgot the original ones. You may contact iTunes store support though. Here's what you can do:

Follow these steps:
All Products and Services > iTunes > iTunes Store > Account Management > iTunes Store account security
Answer the questions and if required sign in with your Apple ID and password - same one you used to log in on this support forum.
You will find an option to send an email to Apple on that page. Indicate that you forgot the answers to your security questions and wait for iTunes support to reply.

here is an interesting thing: take the iphone and set lock screen to never. Now make an email with siri--be sure to activate her with call button. get to the body and get some text in there. then just stop talking. LOCK SCREEN APPEARS!!!!!! and of course you draft is gone.
There does seem to be a work around for some--maybe all these issues. Don't use the call button--use the buttons on the phone.
Siri seems to behave properly with scenerio above---sans call button. She does not go to lock.

Did you try removing and reinstalling all the Apple software using:

Pages 09 opening to a Finder Window - not the Pages new docuemnt screen?

I have a NEW 2012 iMAC - all the latest software. Pages 09 opens always to a Finder window, not the Pages 09 new document screen. How can I get Pages 09 to skip the finder window when I open Pages and go directly to the Pages new document page? In summary, I want to skip the Finder window that's opening every time I click on Pages in my dock and go directly to the Pages new document screen.

so far I havent noticed any repurcussions on the Mac itself...
Can we take that to mean that the iCloud threat to delete stuff from my Mac was an idle threat? And the iCloud bully is really a wimp?

First thing coming to mind:
do you double-click on the zip files on the CD ?
Maybe the "unzip" tries to write in-place to the CD which of course is not possible.
Have you tried to copy one of them to your OSX volume/harddisk and thhen double-click the copy ?

i had this problem and finally figured it out. all that you need to do is go to your start menu and click on computer. select your main drive, (local drive) c usually. Next open the users file follow by your user name file, which is just like it sound it is a file labled as whatever your name is as you have it on your computer. Then you open up the AppData file. Next open the Roaming file. After that open the Apple Computer file followed by the iTunes file. Now you should see the folder labled iTunes Plug-ins folder. Now just Delete that folder. After that go to your iTunes and play your music.
If for some reason you don't see the AppData file you need to go to the upper left of your screen on select organize. a drop down menu will appear and you need to select folder and searc options. a small folder options window will appear. in this window you need to select the view tab. you need to select the show hidden files, folders, and drives bubble. now hit apply and then ok. that will allow the AppData folder to be seen.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all media and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
