One icloud account multiple devices

If using one iCloud account for the family how do I prevent Contacts crossing over devices? My Contacts are showing up on my wifes phone.
I also set her up with her own iCloud account and the Contacts are still crossing phones.

We have a family MacBook and have always held a single iTunes account. We have multiple devices (iTunes Match has proved to be very useful). We have 2 x iCloud accounts. This causes an issue in terms of synchronisation. Is it possible to synch calendars and photos? As mentioned, the music is no longer an issue with iTunes match. Is there a way that we can synch calendars and photos without having to use a single iCloud account? In addition, the only reason we have separate iCloud accounts is for email. I personally would recommend to use different iCloud account for your own stuff like email, calendars, reminders etc. If you want to have a calendar for your family then just share it via your iPhone, iPad or Mac. Yes, you could keep you me,com email address but it should be migrated to icloud because MobileMe was shut down.

I have one itunes account but multiple devices used by the family and I am having conflicts with sharing and face time, imessage etc.
Listed devices
Me - iphone 5, Ipad mini, Apple Tv, Macbook Pro 13" (just purchased)
Wife - iphone 5, ipad
Daughter - iphone 4, ipad mini
Son - iphone 4
Son - ipad
At the moment we all use one itunes account (mine) we all have our own email adresses etc.
I have itunes U which can be accessed.
The problem is everyone wants to use face time and imessage etc but I keep having conflicts with the devices sharing eachothers messages etc. Plus not eveyone wants to share photos etc so how do you manage that across mulitple devices.
Is it a set up issue or is it easier for everyone to have their own accounts.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You could simply ensure that only the numbers and addresses you wish to use on each device are checked at Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. However this isn’t an ideal solution because the other person can always change these settings from their device and have some fun with you and your contacts.
You’d be far better getting them to delete your account from their device and have them create one of their own. If you are sharing an ID for some other service such as iTunes, you can continue to do so, you only need change the ID for messages.

Multiple iCloud Accounts, Multiple Devices

I currently own and opperate a small business. My business partner and I use our own Macbook Pros, IMacs, Iphones, Ipads for both business and personal use, As a result we would like to be able to access both our Business Icloud account and our Personal Icloud accounts from the various devices. Is this possible?
Also, we have an emplyee who will be sync'd with the company Icloud account on three devices.

More than one iCloud account on devices

I have an iPad that is shared by my girlfriend and I. I'm using my ID has the primary ID for iCloud and I added her iCloud ID to the iPad has well. Was wondering if the photo stream will sync with her account while I take photos throught the iPad or my iPhone will the photos be able to streem to her indiviual iPhone has well?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can only have one primary account, you can add secondary accounts via settings > mail, contacts and calendars.
Secondary accounts don't have all the features of primary accounts, such as Photostream.

Sure. That is what iCloud is meant for, so you can keep your devices synced.
When you set up iCloud on the devices, use the same Apple ID on all devices, then the iCloud account will be the same.

You'll need to create an Apple ID for each device. Use the new Apple ID for FaceTime, iMessage and iCloud on the device. Use the original Apple ID for Settings>iTunes & App Store.

Sharing an iCloud account between two devices can be done without causing issues with iMessage and FaceTime, just go into Settings for each of these functions and designate separate points of contact (i.e. phone number only, or phone number and unique email address). While that works, you'll then face the problem where a phone call to one iPhone will ring both if on the same Wi-Fi network -- but again, that can be avoided by changing each phone's settings.
Rather than do all that, don't fight it -- use separate IDs for iCloud. You can still use a common ID for iTunes purchases (the ID for purchases and iCloud do not have to be the same) or you can use Family Sharing to share purchases from a primary Apple account.

How to have one iCloud account linked to multiple apple ids

I am sorry if this has been asked before but my head is spinning at reading everything about iCloud and I haven't really found 1 discussion with my particular situation.
This is what we have:
iPhone - wife
iPad - wife
itouch x 3 - husband and kids
We have 4 family members and 3 different Apple ID's (husband and wife -1 ID, Kids each have their own) All items are purchased on 1 mac but under different Apple ID's (the kids get their own iTunes cards for spending, that's why we kept seperate accounts). We all have access to each other's songs and app purchases (as we know each other's passwords) and have been freely able to add to each others devices.
So my question is: How do we all utilize ONE iCloud (say using my Apple ID as the main account ID) and then have the other 2 Apple ID's tied to the ONE iCloud account? That way the kids can still purchase using their own $, same here for me, but then we all share the Songs/Apps as we did before.
I hope I'm making sense......essentially I think I'm trying to ask..... how do we continue to share apps and songs with iCloud while maintaining different Apple ID's...LOL

The bottom line is that you can't. Apple IDs can't be merged, or shared, in any way at present. There is a rumor that Apple is working on something, but it's not anything that you should rely on. Purchases are tied to a single Apple ID and they can't be transferred to another Apple ID either.
I should note that you don't need to share passwords. By simply creating separate iTunes libraries for each person, and authorizing the computer(s) for each account, you should all be able to use each others purchases and only be able to make purchases from your own account.

I have 2 Apple ids and two corresponding iCloud accounts. My five Apple devices are linked to one or the other. As one consequence a small number of my contacts are associated with one iCloud account, the majority with the other. How can I merge?

For reasons not entirely clear to me I have ended up with two Apple ids, two iCloud accounts and my Apple devices being associated with one or the other iCloud account/Apple id. One of the complications is that my contacts are partially owned by one iCloud account, partially by the other.
Is there any way to
- merge the contacts (I have tried exporting from one and importing into the other but one set will overwrite the other)?
- migrate all devices to one single iCloud account without being locked out for 3 months?
- merge Apple ids or just delete one of them without locking out devices?

You can merge the contacts from one account with your other one without overwriting them. Sign into the first account, download them as vCard (iCloud: Export contact information as a vCard), email them to a device signed into the account you want to merge them with, tap the vCard and choose Add..., then Create New Contacts.
You can also migrate a copy of the data in one account and merge it with the other by signing into the account you are leaving, then signing out (or deleting the account if not running iOS 8), then choosing Keep on My iDevice when prompted. Then sign into the other account and choose Merge when prompted. This won't move Notes however. If you are syncing notes that you want to migrate from the other account, you can temporarily add the account to your Mac as a secondary account by going to System Preferences>Internet Accounts (or Mail,Contacts,Calendars)>Add Account>iCloud and signing in with the other account ID. Then enable notes syncing in the secondary account. You will then be able to open the notes app and drag and drop notes from one account to the other. When you're done, delete the secondary account from your Mac.
You can't merge IDs as Apple does not allow it. Also, you won't be locked out of anything for 3 months. The "90-day switch" rule only applies to changing your iTunes store account, not your iCloud account. Just leave your iTunes store account as-is. The ID you use for the iTunes store does not have to be the same as the ID you use for iCloud.

Our family stores our purchases in one huge library. We each log into our accounts separately (e.g. someone uses an iTunes gift card, someone else uses a credit card, etc.) to purchase music. Each of us can include other's purchases in our play lists. We also have a lot of music loaded from CD's.
Everyone syncs their devices based on their own playlists.
Can we use one iCloud account to keep our respective playlists up to date? We would like everyone's purchases available to all devices.

Terminology check here. Do you really mean a "CD"? There's a difference in Cloud behavior between content from a physical CD you ripped (which only has Cloud content if you have iTunes Match) and an "album" you bought from the iTunes Store.

The above can get pretty complicated. You are probably best off by syncing both devices to a single library and/or updating the libraries on both computers to have the same content.
