One iCloud, two iOS devices, one mac: How do I have different settings?

Hi all,
I have a MBP and iPhone 5 and recently just got iPad mini as a gift.
I have my iPhone sync thru iCloud with my MBP. Now I would like to setup my iPad with the same iCloud so I can have contacts, calendar, reminder, and photo stream BUT, I don't want to have the same apps in those two iOS. For example, I only want games on my iPad, while I want games and some more on my iPhone. However I still wanna sync everything else. Is it possible to do this with one iCloud? My iCloud is also the same as my Apple ID that I use to download apps and music.
Thank you!

You can't if you restore the existing backup.  In order to do that, you would have to go on your phone to Setting>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your phone under Backups (at the top), then on the next screen under Backup Options, turn off all of the apps you don't want on your iPad.  (Tap Show All Apps to be sure you see them all.)  Then create a new backup on your phone by going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup and tapping Back Up Now (at the bottom).
When it's finished, you can restore this backup to your iPad and it will only include the apps that you didn't turn off before making the backup.  (It also won't tranfer any apps that are not compatible with your iPad.)
When you're done, you can go back to your phone and turn all the apps back on again under Backups Options and create a new backup to be sure these are included again should you ever need to restore the backup to your phone.

    "Method Three
Create a separate iTunes library for each device. Note:It is important that you make a new iTunes Library file. Do not justmake a copy of your existing iTunes Library file. If iTunes is open, quit it.
This one may work. I searched and searched on the website for something like this, I guess I just didn't search correctly, lol. I will give this a try later. My daughter is not be back for a few weekends, therefore I will have to try the Method 3 when she comes back for the weekend again. "
I forgot to mention that she has a PC at her house that she also syncs to. Would this cause a problem. I am already getting that pop up saying that the iPod is synced to another library (even though she is signed in with her Apple ID to iTunes) and gives the pop up to Cancel, Erase & Sync, or Transfer Purchases. My question arose because she clicked on "Erase & Sync" by mistake when she plugged the iPod to her PC the first time. When the iPod was purchased and setup, it was synced to my PC first. When she went home, she hooked it up to her PC and then she erased it by accident. I was able to restore all the missing stuff yesterday using my PC. However, even after doing that it still told me the next time I hooked it up last night that the iPod was currently synced with a different library. Hopefully, you can help me understand all this. She wants to sync her iPod and also backup her iPod at both places. Both PCs have been authorised. Thanks

An iPod touch is an iOS device.
Why not contact the developer of the app?

  • Two iOS devices and a Snow Leopard Mac: trying to sync photos

My wife’s tech support group, that would be me , is failing in attempts to find an easy way to sync her photos between iPhoto on her Snow Leopard Mac and her two iOS 5 devices using iCloud.
The bottom line is how best to manage photos during a time all devices are not on iCloud.
    Two problems:
    1. She now has the two iOS devices reporting different numbers of pictures and slightly different albums. Shouldn't they be exactly the same?
    2. Is it better to have her sync her Snow Leopard Mac to the iOS devices using iTunes or iPhoto.
Any basic tips appreciated. Including if this is not the correct Community for this post.
    Thank you.

You are in the correct community for posting this question. Most people would never even think to ask. That's very thoughtful of you. Anyway .... to the point about syncing photos.
I do not use Photo Stream and use iCloud for very little as well. I still sync with iTunes because that works for me and I am used to doing it that way. I am running Lion on my MacBook so I have everything I need for iCloud, but .... This is how I do it.
Connect the iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
Select iPhoto as the folder from which you want to sync.
Click on all of the albums, events, faces, that you want to sync.
Make sure that the Sync Photos heading is checked/selected.
Click on Apply or Sync in the lower right corner of iTunes

  • How do I have different speeds during my clip in imovie without having my whole clip one speed?

How do I have different speeds throught one clip without having the whole clip one speed?

The clip should be in your project. If it is not, drag it into your project from your event.
Now select the portion of the clip that you would like to change the speed for. A yellow border should be around this portion of the clip. Now, right-click on that portion of the clip and select SPLIT CLIP. Repeat if necessary if you need still more segments at different speeds. Now you can adjust the speed of these new split clips separately.

  • How can I set up more than one iCloud account on a single Mac?

I just want to start with the very basics. My wife and I each have an iCloud account. We both want to check our iCloud e-mail in the Mail Application without user switching. Is this possible? How do we set it up? Is it also possible to each manager our own calendars (iCal) and contacts (Address Books) without user switching? Put aside all iTunes issues for now. Just worried about iCloud: two iCloud IDs. One Mac.

Any one user account on the Mac can have more than one iCloud account signed into, but only the first one set up will sync Calendars and Contacts. You would probably be able to enter the second account's server details manually into the Mail application to that it would access both accounts: setup details here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864
However the best way to do this is certainly for each of you to have your own user account on the Mac, setting up Fast User Switching to prevent having to keep logging in and out - then each account can set up the owner's iCloud account and do all the syncing and other facilities.

  • How can i create an icloud accout without any iOS device or Mac?

I do not have an iOS device nor do I have a Mac. I would like to view other persons Photostream. When I download the iCloud 2.1.1 (for windows) I am being asked to sign in with my apple ID. When I enter it, I am being told that the apple ID is correct, but that this is not an iCloud account. From here I don't know how to continue.

    You can't.

  • HT201302 How does one "Navigate to [iOS device]\Internal Storage\DCIM\100APPLE"?

I'm trying to manually move 500+MB files from my iPad to my XP, and I'm stuck on step 4 "Navigate to [iOS device]\Internal Storage\DCIM\100APPLE".
I can't find any drive or directory information associated with the iPad.  How do I get to the 100APPLE directory?
    Thanks for any help.

Just found a workaround in this thread:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2434344?start=0&tstart=0
In short, find the files in the iTunes backup data, copy them to where you want them, then add the appropriate extensions.

  • Two IOS Devices with single icloud acc, but storage remains 5gb only

    Hi
I have iphone 4 and ipod 5th gen. For both i`m using single itunes Account.
For icloud, i use single account for 2 devices, the storage of icloud remain 5GB only. In actual, If there is separate icloud account, for 2 ios devices
i ll get 10GB Total , 5-5 for each ios device.
I need to know, How can i link 2 icloud accounts & have 10Gb of storage for backup on icloud. In this way, should i be able to use Photo stream, bookmarks, notes & etc for both devices, Same as it would work if i use Single icloud account.
As the devices are two, Why we are getting only 5Gb, which is free for only single device.

Actually, everyone missed one point, when a device is priced, the cost of icloud storage space for that device is also included in it that is why they are able to give you 5gb each for each user ID, in nutshell there is nothing free coming with apple device purchase, it is paid for.  What they are trying by giving only 5gb per user ID irrespective of the number of devices used is pure broadlight looting, they take money from you when you buy each device and give you nothing, This is a case of goods and services bought but not fully deliverd ie apple can be suied for discreminatory treatment towards it's users. I wonder why no one tried this yet in America where everyone sue everyone for petty things..... there is no one to take up this issue? . if tim got any love for the guys who shell out money for the devices his company makes, he should be implimenting this as priority before someone wake up from sleep and sue him.

  • Can I have more than one iCloud email address and if so how do I create it

I have multiple businesses and would like to create a second iCloud email.  Is that possible and if so will it sync to my previous one or can I sync it on the Iphone?  Thank you

You can add up to three 'email aliases' to your present account - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account, move it to another account, or reactivate it if you delete it.
    More information on aliases here:
    http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a490a
Alternatively you can create a new Apple ID and use it to open a new iCloud account which you can sign into in System Preferences (or Settings)>Mail, Contacts and Calendars. This secondary account can sync data between its own online account and your Mac, though it cannot use PhotoStream. Data entered in one account won't appear in the other online, though both appear in alongside each other on your Macs or devices.

  • One icloud account multiple devices

If using one iCloud account for the family how do I prevent Contacts crossing over devices?  My Contacts are showing up on my wifes phone.
I also set her up with her own iCloud account and the Contacts are still crossing phones.
    Thanks

iCloud is a single user system (1 person, 1 account) use it correctly and there is no issue
