One Identity in SharePoint Online and SharEPoint on Azure

Dear All,
I create the portal in SharePoint Online and I used local AD for identity.
But when I create the infopath form and workflow, I have used SharePoint on Azure.
My question,
If user access through SharePoint Online portal, and I do hyperlink to form on sharepoint azure. Can we use the same identity?
For example, user A access portal via SharePoint Online, when he click the form. it's directly automatically to SharePoint on Azure. No login again.
Thank you

Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to open a form on SharePoint azure from SharePoint Online with the same identity.
For your issue, you need to consider these technologies:
1)
Shared Access Signature
2)
WIndows Azure Acess Control
You can have a look at the blog:

    Hi MasterBird,
    For SharePoint 2013 On-premise, we can :
Comlete control of our environment and data
    Supports heavy customization
    Keep sensitive information in-house
Easier integration into line of business systems
    Full development options for developers
    For SharePoint Online workflow:
Workflow 2010 & 2013 are available with Standard and Enterprise Editions without having to install
If using Windows Azure workflow functionality is the same as 2013
Cannot create custom Visual Studio workflows
For InfoPath Form Services you will need Office 365 Enterprise Could Edition or SharePoint Online Plan 2

  • Clarification on SharePoint Online and SQL Server

I have several subsites on a SharePoint 2013 server that uses external content types and the Business Data Connectivity Service to access tables in a SQL Server database. I used the Sharepoint 2013 Designer to configure most of this, but at times, I also
used Visual Studio 2013. Everything works fine. It successfully uses a secure store Application ID to authenticate connections to a remote SQL Server (i.e. the SQL Server and SharePoint server are 2 completely different machines that are not even within the
same domain). The external lists on the SharePoint site are capable of reading data in the SQL tables, updating data, adding new data, and deleting old data. I have specified permissions to users/groups that help me control who can access the external lists
on the SharePoint sites. Everything has been working well for a while now.
But now I have to start thinking about using SharePoint Online, instead of an on-premises SharePoint server. And everything I am reading indicates that what I do above is not going to work with SharePoint Online. It sounds like I will have to either move
our database to a SQL Azure service, or if I want to continue using our existing SQL Server, then I am going to have to develop a WCF service that will allow SharePoint Online to communicate with our own SQL Server. Am I understanding this correctly? Or is
there a way to take what I did above and make it work with SharePoint Online?
    Thank you,
    Steven

    Hi,
We can use Hybrid Connections to connect SharePoint Online to an on-premises SQL Server.
Here is a blog from MSDN for your reference:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/alimaz/archive/2014/07/31/connect-sharepoint-online-to-an-on-premises-sql-server-from-an-azure-provider-hosted-app-using-hybrid-connections.aspx
We can also customize a WCF service and publish it to public web site to achieve it.

  • How to set up Sharepoint Online and OneDrive for business like shared path in local network

    Hi!
I need to create in OneDrive for business or Sharepoint Online shared folder with documents that would be visible to all selected employees or all employees of the selected group.
How to make it through the admin panel of Office 365, not by creating a folder in any user's access and send invitations to each user by email?

Do you mean you want to map OneDrive for Business as a network drive? If so have a look at this technical article

  • SharePoint Online and POP email

I have a client who is interested in using SharePoint Online, but they are using pop email hosted by Rackspace. Can someone tell me if this will cause any issues with SharePoint, is there any limitation in SharePoint functionality when doing this? Would
email enable workflows still work with POP accounts.  Also are there any issues with SSO and Federation with AD using SharePoint Online?
    Thank you for the help.
Thanks in advance for your time. Steven

    Hi,
The email address for users when used in a workflow is the email address set in SharePoint Admins User Profiles in Office 365. The field is called Work Email. This is automatically populated with the primary SMTP address of the user and mail is sent to it
if licensed for Exchange Online. Depending on the workflow, you should be able to send mail to external users, because the workflow when triggered will fall dependant on the permission of the user initiating the workflow.
No, there are no real issues with SSO (ADFS 2) or DirSync and SP Online... Just be sure to be mindful of deleting and recreating users, or stopping and starting sync because you could run into permissions issues within Sharepoint Online due to user guid
    conflicts.

  • SharePoint Online and Open XML

    Hi,
Using OpenXml I can generate word documents in SharePoint Foundation Sandbox just fine. However uploading the solution to SharePoint Online does not seem to be possible as DocumentFormat.OpenXml.dll is not allowed (due to problems with remoting). So is it
possible to use openxml in sharepoint online or is there another way to generate word documents programmatically in sharepoint online? thanks.

    According to this post: http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/154/p/15363/70842.aspx#70842
OpenXML is not available in SharePoint Online. So is it possible to programmatically create reports from a list (word etc.) in SharePoint online programmatically or is this atm impossible?

  • Office 365 Sharepoint Online and Infopath 2013

I'm looking create an InfoPath 2013 form where the view changes based on the current user.  This is so different departments & managers get access to fields regular submitters don't see.
This is in SharePoint Online with Office 365.  How can I manage this?  I have tried connecting to SharePoint online via a data connection, but I get errors when it tries to make the data connection.
Are there any tutorials on how to do this, or at least something put point me in the right direction?

  • Can SharePoint Apps and SharePoint 2013 workflow run on the same servers?

As the SharePoint 2013 workflow manager can run on non-sharePoint servers. Can I also use those server to host SharePoint apps in the Provider host model?
Or should I keep them separate?
This is a medium size deployment, 2 WFEs, 2 Apps, 1 Clustered DB.   I would be adding 2 additional servers for hosting workflow manager, and SharePoint apps.
One other option I can think of would be to host the Workflow manager on the SharePoint Apps servers.  And then host the SharePoint Apps on the 2 separate servers.
Any guidance or gatchas would be great the hear about.
    Thanks!
    Joshua Fuente

Yes, you should be able to run SharePoint Provider hosted apps using the Workflow Server as the provider.  There is nothing in workflow manager that prevents running web sites on the same server.

  • Programs to copy Sharepoint Online to Sharepoint Online (Office 365)

    Hi there,
I want to copy a sharepoint site collection in Office 365 SharePoint to a new site collection in Office 365 SharePoint. Can anyone recommend me a good program to do this? I know there are a lot out there and have trialled two of them but they were just too
slow. The site is 3GB which isn't huge but one of the programs was taking days at doing this.
I'd also like to use the program for migrating our old WSS SP site to Office 365 SharePoint some time down the track.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
I recommend you to use the metalogix tool which migrates the data from any source(MOSS 2007, SP 2010, SP 2013 or Office 365) to target(SP 2010, SP 2013 or Office 365).  I am using this tool, it took me 1.5gb data move to 1.5 hours.

  • Developing SharePoint Apps to work on both OnPremise and SharePoint Online

I have a requirement of developing SharePoint app which should work on both SharePoint online and SharePoint on premise. Is there any restriction on apps which might only work on one particular environment and not working on other. If there are scenarios
which app can only work on particular environment what are the limitations and scenarios.

When using the SharePoint Remote API (CSOM/JSOM/REST) and wanting your apps to be usable across platforms you must make sure to reference the correct version of Microsoft.SharePoint.Client and be careful not to utilize features only available in O365.
There are two version of the CSOM 15 and 16. The 16 version comes with VSTO and has some methods only available on O365, for example Web.GetFolderByID method. If you reference the 16 version and use this method everything will compile but will fail the minute
you make the call to SharePoint on-prem. You should also avoid using the new REST batch capabilities which are only available in O365. There is virtually no documentation on the differences between the versioned API's.

  • How to get Client ID and Client Secret for Office App for Word which accessing SharePoint Online

we currently implementing an Office App for MS Word which access SharePoint list and get data from lists. Our aim is any user can get this app from Office App store and enter their SharePoint URL and browse their own SharePoint lists and use those. When
I was checking mechanisms which you used to access SharePoint, in some of them have used ClientId and Client Secret to authenticate with SharePoint. I have following questions.
1.If I want to sell my app using Office app store where can I get those clientId and client secret which is used to  get the access tokens.
2.Is it possible to create SharePoint app and publish it to SharePoint app store and get clientId and client secret and use it when accessing through office. So users first download our SharePoint app install it to their SharePoint environment then get out
Office App from Office app store and add it to word. Will this work?

    Hi,
    >> We are planning to develop an Office app to access SharePoint Online and SharePoint on Premise from Microsoft word.
I’m not very familiar with SharePoint development, so please correct me if I have any misunderstandings about your requirement.
The basic components of an app for Office are an XML manifest file and the default webpage of your app (server side).
    >> If I'm publishing my Office App for Word in to the Microsoft office app store, how do I get the ClientId and ClientSecret which I need to pass to authenticate with SharePoint online?
As far as I know, when register your web app to SharePoint Online, you will get the ClientId and ClientSecret from the Azure Active Directory. And you need to store the Client ID and Client
Secret on the app server side.
For details, you could reference the article
Building an Office 365 ASP.NET MVC app.
    >> If ClientId and ClientSecret not providing when we publishing Word Office App to the app store how what the ways which we can use to authenticate with SharePoint using Word Office app?
You don’t need to provide the ClientId and ClientSecret when publishing your App to App Store. They are stored on your app server side.
By the way, if you have the question about how to access the SharePoint resource in a Web Application, I will suggest you posting the questions to
SharePoint Development Forum. For this forum, we mainly discuss the questions about using the Office JavaScript API to develop Apps for Office.
