One instance not failling over to secondary node

Hi, i have a instance which i just install which is not failling over to the 2nd node.I come across this screen below and notice that the 2nd instance is only attached to one node. How do I add the secondary node to the instance ?

How did you install this new instance? Did you not install using the option "New SQL Server
failover cluster installation"?

  • Publishing does not clear cache on secondary node on the cluster

    Hello,
I am publishing assets from Management to Delivery. Delivery consists of 2 nodes, one of which is the publish destination for the management. So, after a publish, I could see the updated content on Delivery 1 (cs/Satellite) but Delivery 2 (cs/Satellite) still shows stale content.
I checked the following properties on ft.ini and it's holding correcting values
    cc.cacheNoSync, ft.sync, ft.usedisksync
Any help/pointers is very much appreciated.
    Thanks!

Seems like your cache flushing is not working correctly - easiest way to see if your system is configured correctly with regard to the satellite servers - go into support tools / cache / list pages - pick Satellite - - it will log (remotely) onto both satellites and list the inventory - it validates the entries in your system satellite table - that table needs to list all of your delivery satellite servers and credentials -

  • C6150 All In One is not recognized over network

My printer works fine for printing over the network.  My problem is that I cannot initiate a scan to computer, or initiate from within HP solution center.  I can access and interact with my printer directly via the web browser interface.  The HP driver install and HP home network diagnostic utility all find the printer OK on the network, but the diagnostic utility keeps saying that software is missing that is necessary to run the printer over the network.  I have uninstalled all HP software, then downloaded the full version of the latest HP software suite and installed it - all OK except now when I try to run Solution center it no longer even gets to the main menu - an error message comes up and says no HP devices were found and quits.  When obtaining software from the HP site I was careful to specify XP as the OS and have not tried anything that does not have XP listed as compatible.
I still can connect to it directly and print.  I have looked at every possible driver that HP has on the site.  I have run the scan diagnostic - It verifies the connection OK but when it gets to the driver section of the test it crashes and a Windows error message comes up and says it has encountered a problem and has to close.
I am running XP Home with all of the updates installed.

    Hi,
seeing as you can acces the printer via the browser, so directly from its ip adress the connection is ok. What in these cases is most likely is that there is something on your computer blocking HP software ability to check out the network. Most likely something like a firewall or virusscanner.

  • Connect some users on ISE Secondary node

Is it possible to connect users on secondary node?
I tried it. I configure one switch to connect on the secondary node. A computer on that switch communicate with the secondary node and get and IP address from the DHCP. but It cannot download DACL.

Yes you can point the users to the secondary server and have them authenticate, within ise the primary and secondary status only applies to admin and the monitoring personas, as as the node is running the policy services they are all considered their own standalone radius server.
please use the "debug radius authentication" and all check the replicstion status and see if it is in sync and completed.
    Thanks

We have installed weblogic cluster :
    node1: Admin server,soa_server1
    node2:soa_server2
when we deploy any soa application in one node it is not getting published in second node.We have taken oracle support also still problem is not solved.
They told us to configure coherence ,we have taken owc from metalink .
    very urgent.
    Any one can help me.

You have a cluster consisting of soa_server1 and soa_server2 or are these stand-alone WebLogic instances?
    Is soa-infra active on soa_server2?
Can you check if soa-infra can be reached on both the server instances (http://hostname:port/soa-infra/)
When soa_infra cannot be reached on soa_server2 can you check the logging to see what errors
    are occuring.

The user <sid>adm lacks the proper environment. Is this environment variable set on both nodes?

  • ISE 1.1.3.124 secondary node not reachable after registration

    G'day All,
I'm constantly seeing that the sync and replication status for my secondary admin/monitor node in the primary node as node not reachable. The secondary still thinks it is in standalone mode. When I run the ISE diag tool connectivity tests I am able successfully ping the devices from each other using both hostname and ip and the nslookup also works fine between both nodes. Ping and nslookups also work from different networks within the environment. The two nodes are in the same vlan on a 6500 vss pair but on different switches of the pair. I'm new to ISE so any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks All.

    Hi Saurav,
    Thanks for your prompt repsonse...
I have worked through that section of the document. The registration completes successfully, I've got NTP sync on both nodes and the system time on both nodes is identical.
I am only using the self signed certificates, but following the user guide instructions I have imported the secondary's cert into the primary node.
Just as of about 30 minutes ago, I saw an alarm on the Secondary ISE node stating that a Slow or Stuck Replication has been detected...
As I said in the original post, I can ping the fqdn's from each other so it appears that the DNS requirements have been satisfied.
I've changed the admin account password, I am certain that the ISE DB passwords are correct and the same on both nodes and the timezones for both nodes is the same also....
It looks to me that registration is fine, but the first full replication isn't completing successfully
    Thanks,

  • Scale out question: how does instance name affect primary/secondary node

    Hi:
    OBIEE 11.1.1.6.4, Windows 2008
On a test instance the following happened:
    1. Enterprise install of OBIEE 11g had problems
    2. Reinstalled OBIEE 11g, but the installer created an instance2
    3. All was well with this install
    4. Performed all necessary shared catalog and RPD steps
    5. On a second server, installed OBIEE 11g using the scale-out option
    6. On second server, this created an instance1 directory
    7. All components start up and we can log into OBIEE using either server1 or server2
    Question:
Does OBIEE use the instance names in a scale-out? Our primary node is instance2 and the secondary node is instance1, though on a separate server. Will this cause a problem?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hello,
This can be run on any of the replicas that the availability group participates in to return the primary instance:
    select primary_replica FROM sys.dm_hadr_name_id_map nim
    inner join sys.dm_hadr_availability_group_states ags
    on nim.ag_id = ags.group_id
    WHERE nim.ag_name = 'MyAvailabilityGroupNameHere'

  • Problems with Oracle FailSafe - Primary node not failing over the DB to the

I am using 11.1.0.7 on Windows 64 bit OS, two nodes clustered at OS level. The Cluster is working fine at Windows level and the shared drive fails over. However, the database does not failover when the primary node is shutdown or restarted.
The Oracle software is on local drive on each box. The Oracle DB files and Logs are on shared drive.

Is the database listed in your cluster group that you are failing over?

  • How does RAC determine which instance number to run on which node

    Good afternoon
I am trying to script a process and I need to identify how RAC decides which node runs which instance. Is it the first one of the pair added to the cluster that runs node 1 or is there some other piece of information that I need to work this out
This is on Redhat Linux with 10.2.0.3 for CRS, ASM and databases
    Cheers
    Peter

Before "you" start an instance you set env variable ORACLE_SID. This identifies an instance. When you go into sqlplus and issue STARTUP, Oracle starts the instance named by the sid. Thus the instance running on the server is controlled by you. This changes as noted below.
If you were using a non-Oracle tool to start instances, such as Veritas, then you would see it start the instance you coded into the tool. It would not randomly pick an instance. It looks in the Veritas config file and sees that you always want instance 1 on this node and instance 2 on that node.
That said, you can make Oracle more random or "grid" like. 10g RAC done Oracle's way likes to bounce around between primary and secondary nodes. To see which instances are running on a node you can "ps -ef | grep pmon". Alternatively, use sqlplus to look in the database: view gv$instance gives you each instance name paired with the name of the host it is currently running on. There is one line of output per instance currently running.
