One Key System Repair

I don't think it exists on my S10.... at least I see NO options for a factory reinstall. But there is a folder for the system repair under program files.
The computer came with the 160GB drive divided up into 3 partitions. C drive is 100GB, D drive is 30GB (for the One Key backup) and then an unmapped blank partition which I assume has the factory data on it, which is around 15GB
I actually used Gparted to combine the D partition into the C partition for more room, since the One Key backup software is insanely crippled, the 30GB space couldn’t fit anything. The “hidden” partition is still there though….

One Key system repair is the worst piece of software ever.
I can't understand why Lenovo chose that system.
After failing to get my computer recovered ( read more here ), I deleted all signs of One Key and installed Acronis.
Now I feel much safer and it's so much easier and more reliable.
There are many postings about the issues with One Key and not one comment back from Lenovo anywhere on the Internet.
I think they realize their mistake but refuse to comment or fix it.

    Dear Community,
I got a virus on my computer and when my computer boots up the icons and start menu doesn't not show. I keep all my important files on the D drive and I want to do a one key system restore. But when I press the button during booting or after it booted it won't activate. When I keep pressing the recovery button when it boots all i get is "please select the operating system to start: microsoft windows xp home edition" that is my only option.
is there another way i can turn it on?
    Thanks,

  • Ideacenter K330B One Key Recovery External Hard Drive

Hello, a few months back I made a full backup of my system to an external hard drive. I reached a point where it was just easiest to start my computer over using the One Key Recovery. I had to go with the factory settings at least temporarily. Is there anyway I can use the external hard drive backup to restore my stystem? The One Key system doesn't seem to agree with it.
    Thank you for any replies.
Sorry if there is a post like this elsewhere. I tried to see if their was and didn't see any that applied directly to what I needed.

    hi Nutcracker,
When you tried to restore your backup using OneKey Recovery, are you getting any specific error message?
    Can you also try to:
    1. Format the external HDD with NTFS (move your OneKey Recovery backup to another computer first)
    2. Make external HDD's the partition active and copy back the OneKey Recovery backup image
    3. Boot into OneKey Recovery 7.0 and try to restore your backup.
    Let me know your findings

  • Solved! Fix / Repair Nova Button / One Key Recovery after replacing SSD - Walkthru! Yoga 2 Pro

I created this full walkthru for people who upgrade / or replace their hard drive / SSD drive on the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro or other Lenovo products that has the Nova button - One Key recovery solution. I did this on my Yoga 2 Pro. So it should work perfectly for those owners for others I'm not certian but it should be similiar for other Lenovos.
Essentially this will rebuild your laptop back to factory settings including full nova button functionality without having to buy the lenovo recovery disks. It took me several days to piece this together from everything on the web into an easy to follow step by step process so I hope you appreciate / enjoy it And I hope it saves you lots of time.
The process is not that hard but you are completely wiping your hard drive yourself. All your data will be gone. Bear this in mind. You have to be bold enough to try it. And it's not for the faint of heart.
Read through the whole thing first before doing it step by step.
    Here we go.
There are a lot of steps but it's a fairly simple process.
Requirements at least 2 USB sticks - One 4 GB or more
    Necessary Files:
    1. Okr8 Engineer - Wipes the hard drive and creates the necessary paritions to bring Lenovo drive back to initial state.
This is the file you really need.
    Download here:
    http://www.filedropper.com/win8okr80withoutos > my personal upload <
    https://torrent.pl/de/0438900090510,lenovo-okr8-one-key-recovery-8 or do a search for OKR8.
    2. Power Iso - Properly burns Okr8 on a bootable USB for installation purposes.
    http://www.poweriso.com/
    3. Download copy of Windows 8.1 OEM version - Wish I had found this link before!
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media
For the Yoga Pro 2 you do not need the Windows 8.1 serial as it's imprinted directly onto the bio for others laptops laptops. Use produkey to find you're serail if you lost it you don't have a Bio embedded laptop: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html
    4. Get Necessary Lenovo Drivers - Easily accessible on the Lenovo website. Just go and download the drivers you need for you laptop.
Links to hard to find drivers
    Veriface 4.0 : https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Yoga-Flex-Laptops-and/Veriface-Download/td-p/1459391
    Dolby v4 : http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds027444
    First section:
    1. Download the OKR8 file. You'll need to install utorrent or bitorrent if you downloaded it as a torrent and not my personal file.
    2. Download, Install, then Open PowerISO.
    3. Select - Tools - Create Bootable USB drive - Select Yes to Run as administrator - Find the OKR 8.iso on your hard drive and burn to the USB stick.
    4. Next create the windows 8.1 usb stick as well. Download Windows 8.1: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media
    5. Run the Microsoft file and select English > Windows 8.1 and > 64 bit
    6. Burn the Windows 8.1 to USb through the software.
    7. Relax and have a coffee while it creates the usb stick.
    8. Download and save the necessary lenovo drivers onto another USB stick, external hard drive or onto one of the 2 USB sticks you are already using. Valuable if you only have one computer.
Please note: You install all this stuff at your own risk. Propertly back up and save all your old personal data first onto an external hard drive. This process will wipe everything off your drive, including all the paritions (including the old recovery parition if you have one there) and you'd won't be able to get it back.
Having access to two computers is helpful. But if done property you should be good with one. I will not be responsible for any mishaps. This is cowboy computing. Typically for people with too much time on their hands or who are obsessive compulsive types
    Second section:
    1. Turn off computer.
    2. Press Nova button, wait, enter into Bios. Goto to boot mode and switch boot from UEFI only to 'legacy mode". This allows you to boot to the OKR 8 USB your prepared.
    3. Shut down computer
    4. Insert OKR 8 USB
    5. Press Nova button again - Select Boot- Select - USB drive with OKR 8 on it.
    6. Let the OKR 8 USB load. - A Windows 8 screen comes up.
    7. Once it loads click the check mark and hit the button with chinese letters. This whole software is in Chinese and not in English. Don't worry.
    8. Wait patiently. It will say 'done' but it's not all done until the popup windows appears and says All Done. Then REMOVE the usb and reboot.
    9. Important* - Reboot the computer and let the OKR 8 software load and install on the recovery parition - It finishes the installation after you reboot. It will reboot again and load into the One Key Recovery Panel software.
Yay! Now select shutdown from the One Key Recovery environment.
    10. Press Nova button again > enter bio > and switch back to UEFI mode. *Important* If you try to install Windows through USB legacy mode. You will get a GPT error when trying to install windows onto the hard drive.
    11. Shutdown again.
    12. Insert the Windows 8.1 USB. Press the Nova button again. Select Boot Options: Boot from the Windows 8.1 USB.
    13. Windows 8.1 loads. Select Install.
    14. Choose Custom Install and Install Windows 8.1 to Parition 5 - "Windows8_OS"
    15. Let Windows Install. Remove USB stick when asked.
    16. Reboot. Go through standard windows setup. Install all drivers and program you want in preparation to save the intial factory recovery state.
    17. Get your yoga 2 pro or laptop up to the initial specifications you want and then shut down.
    Section 3:
    1. Now it's time to create the initial backup onto the hidden recovery parition so you can reset the laptop back to inital specs whenever you wish including when you want to sell or give away the laptop..
    2. From a shutdown state - Goto system recovery through novo button again.
    3. Once it's loaded press CTRL+Shift+O to pull up the command prompt window (Shift + F10 was previously suggested. It did not work for me, maybe on older machines)
    4. At the command prompt type in: diskpart
    5. type: list volume
    6. Look for the letter of volume that is labelled PBR_DRV (eg. H) - This is the hidden Lenovo recovery partition where the initial factory backup image will be saved to.
    7. type exit
    8.  type: H: or whatever volume it is.
    9. Your directory should change to H:
    10.  Type: cd onekey\osimage > This takes you to the correct directory.
11.. You're almost at the end!
    12.. Type: osimage /nopbr
    13. Type: osimage /fb
    14. Wait ten minutes while the initial backup is saved onto the hidden recovery parition
    15.. Profit!
    16. type exit - Reboot - You're Good to Go.
    17. Rock On!
    18. Enjoy Life again.
Lots of work but worth it in the end !
Should also work for when windows 10 comes out.

As far as I can tell, Windows 8.1 is merely an windows update, so the license key from your BIOS should still work. If you already updated your machine to Windows 8.1, and a fresh install of 8.1 didn't complain about license key, then you should be able to create a new recovery image from it.  For Windows 10, if I am not mistaken, when you upgrade from Windows 7/8/8.1, some hardware ID is stored on a MS server to flag this machine has a windows 10 license, to make it possible to perform fresh windows 10 install in the future if needed. This means if you never have windows 10 installed, then you cannot use it to build the recovrey image (the key from BIOS won't work). But if you have 10 installed, you can always activate it during the process of creating recovery image.  Once again, all these are based on my knowledge and I haven't attempt to do them, so I cannot tell if this will definitely work. Try it and let us know

  • Need Help using One-Key to make a system back up to DVDs

I bought U330 in Sept and now that I have some of my own programs installed and running, I want to make a backup to D (I think?) and also make backups to DVDs so I could make backups.
I'm no novice, but I cannot figure out the instructions for this.
When I pick  Backup, even at Max compression, it says I don't have enough space.   I don't have THAT much on D:---did I need to repartition this before I even started using this computer?  Does this mean I can never use One-Key?
When I pick Create Recover Disc (to make DVD backups), what do I do next?
The dropdown for "Select Source From" has only two options, I am guessing I have to pick "Select another image", but then I don't know what to pick for the Image path.    How do I pick the whole C drive ???   Or??
Please tell me exactly how to do this because I am finding LENOVO's instructions totally inadequate.
A couple times I got to the DVD burner--not sure how--but then it just wanted to burn the sample music files.    I'm feeling quite frustrated--this should not be this difficult!!

I thought you've got error of another type - that error is fixed by simple software update.
Regarding your case - it's always frightening in first time. Believe me - there's completely nothing to be afraid of.
Resizing C drive may result killing your DATA on it only in case of energy is down during the process. Process is taking about 15-20 minutes on slow programs and about 3-4 minutes on fast programs. That means that even having problems with electricity you'll be able to finish everything correctly running on battery.
I'd recommend using Acronis Disk director Suite, but it is not free. One of the best free progs for that are bootable Linux livecds PartedMagic and GParted. They're all intuitive understandable.
You will get your NOVO recovery feature lost after C resize, but you can enable it later, replacing that factory backup in hidden partition with your own backup - your NOVO button will restore your system with all your software and settings.
it will be good for you to start with some basic principles on partitions organization schemes - why, what for and how questions are briefly explained here. After reading this you'll be able to ask right questions to get right answers.

  • One Key Recovery under Win 10, G50-70

    hello guys
my laptop is g50-70.I have got all the drivers for windows 10 64 bit
except the onekey recovery for win10>
how to make the system image of the win10 if it is not provided???
    help me out....
Mod Comment: Moved post into proper forum. Edited subject to include model/issue.

Hi, I don't think this is the answer the user is looking for. Although the mentioned procedure does in fact create a usable image of Windows, the question remains for One Key Recovery. If used, OKR will revert the machine back to factory install, meaning Windows 8.Can Lenovo clarify if there will be some sort of update to OKR so it will revert back to Windows 10?Or our future options will be:1- use OKR to get back to Windows 8 and manually update to 102- update to 10, make an image and restore Windows 10, bypassing OKR? This post seems to be an alternative in case Lenovo won't provide a solution:https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Edge-Yoga-LaVie-Z-Flex/Solved-Fix-Repair-Nova-Button-One-Key-Recovery-after-replacing/m-p/1829369/highlight/true#M26820  Thank you.

  • EliteBook 8570w System Repair Disc Windows 7

    Hi all,
I wanted to make a System Repair Disc of Windows on my Elitebook 8570w. This was fairly easy as Hp has a programme called Hp Recovery Disc Creator which does this for you. It gives you one opportunity to burn a Windows Disc and a Driver Disc. What HP calls the Windows Disc is the System Repair Disc.
Now, my problem is that the Windows Disc does not function properly (no idea why). When booting from the DVD the screen keeps stuck at Windows is loading files... Also when I try to run the setup file from the DVD I get error messages that say "F:\Sources\autorun.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error." and after that "The file 'autorun.dll' could not be loaded or is corrupt. Setup cannot continue. Error code is [0xC1]" Because I only got one shot at making the disc I can't simply make another DVD.
Then, I tried to let Windows make the System Repair Disc by itself (using Create a System Repair Disc). However, I get another error message: "The parameter is incorrect (0x80070057). Some people suggest that HP Recovery Disc Creator has "hijacked" Window's "Create a System Repair Disc" function and that's what is causing the problem. So HP does not give me a second try and it prevents Windows from giving me a second try as well! So, maybe deleting HP Recovery Disc Creator would work. However, it does not list in Programmes and Features and I can't find an uninstall file in its directory.
When trying to find a solution I came across a guide to create a bootable Windows 7 Installation USB drive (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2432-usb-windows-7-installation-key-drive-create.html). It involves copying the files from the installation disc to the USB. Step 21 details the files that are on this installation disc. They are the same as on my System Repair Disc.
So would downloading an image of the installation disc be the same as downloading an image of the System Repair Disc? (I'm downloading a file atm but not sure if it makes sence) If not, are there any other options to create a new System Repair Disc? Maybe by somehow uninstalling HP Recovery Disc Creator or by tricking it into thinking I have not yet tried to make a Windows Disc? Or can I download an image of the System Repair disc somewhere online (most links I have found are dead)?
Please let me know if any additional information is needed! Thanks in advance!
    Michael
TLDR: burned a system repair disc, disc is not working properly, HP and Windows won't let me try to burn again. Other options?
    This question was solved.

    Hi:
You can probably make an ISO file of the version of W7 Pro that you need from the link below.
Use one of the SP1 Media Refresh files.
    http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/14709-Windows-7-Digital-River-direct-links-Multiple-Languag...
Use the W7 Pro product key from the bottom of the notebook to activate the installation.
Use this tool to transfer the ISO file to a USB flash drive or DVD.  The tool will also make the file bootable.
    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool
Your other option would be to order a set of W7 recovery disks for your PC, by contacting HP for the country you live in at the link below.

my keyboard on macbook pro (laptop) is acting weird. One key is not responding at all. Have verified using Keyboard viewer and some other keys are printing the unresponsive character at random. "z" is the unresponsive character.
Is it a damaged keyboard ?
The laptop is just 2 months old, will Apple replace it with a new one if its indeed a damaged keyboard or just repair, I use it for official purposes so being without a laptop is not much of an option.

No one here works for Apple, so we don't know what Apple might or might not do.  If it's a genuine defect, they will of course repair it under warranty.  It is not their responsibility if it effects your ability to work or not, so that's on you.
If, however, they determine that the key is problematic as a result of your misuse of the laptop, then everything is on you.  And trust me, if they find a glob of dried up beer or coffee there, they will charge you.
Your only choice is to take it in for repair.

Hi. I have recently upgraded to windows 8 with a clean install. I was wondering if there is software to get the power switch control software back so I can set it to auto, turbo or cool because without it I think using the switch is useless. I purchased a Macbook Air 11" in January 2011. It has one key on the keyboard which sticks making an irritating clicking sound that I would like to get fixed. I took it into my local iStore but they were not at all encouraging, saying they doubt that Apple warranty will cover something like this, and also that the whole keyboard would have to be replaced as they don't do individual key repairs.
This is very unreasonable to me. Firstly, the keyboard does work (is not actually broken) although the intermittent clicking sound of a single key is very irritating to me and I expect more from an Apple product than a flawed keyboard.
Any thoughts, tips and insight on this greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to conclude by saying that I did go to an Apple store and after supplying proof of purchase and verifying the warranty etc, I had my MacBook checked out by one of the technicians who (after finding that my machine was immaculate bar the sticky keyboard of course) they replaced the entire keyboard within a week.
I was so happy with the helpful and prompt service and am now so happy with my new silent keyboard!
Also wanted to add that the young guy who told me at the iStore that he doubted Apple would support this and guessed Apple likely say it was due to user damage was being a tool, and he was obviously assuming  that I had done something wrong to break my keyboard.
This was my first Mac purchase and I was delighted to find that the support is genuine and not just a rumor... I have since gone on to purchase an iPad2 will probably buy the iMac too once my trusty PC needs replacing. I was never a PC hater and got on well with windows, and was actually reluctant to make the change - but so far so good :)
    Thanks for all the help!

  • EEWB: Insert New Table with more than one key field  for BP object

    Hi Gurus,
I want to enhance Business Partner object with a new table with two key fields, one the address number and another a sequence number, because I need to save several entries for each address belonging to a determined business partner. Something as what happens in communication data (i.e fax number)for an address.
I have run the wizard from EEWB but the only possibility that offers you is to create only one key field for the new custom table. There is something in EEWB to achieve this, two key fields for the new table?
Another question is the following: which Badi or BAPI must I enhance to populate my table with the corresponding address number to which the data belong to?
I mean my custom data are filled through a table control that I have allocated within the screen sequence BUA130 (Detail Address). Thus, when a new address is added to a BP and my particular table control is populated within this address I should fill the key fields from my table (address number and sequence number) when the BP were saved. So, I must know beforehand which address number the system will assign to this new address.
I repeat the question: which Badi or BAPI must I enhance to populate my table with the corresponding address number to which the data belong to?
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Connecting Multiple R/3 Systems to one BW System / What is to be considered

    Dear All,
    I have the following requirements.
We have the following requirement to connect to 2 different R/3 systems (RS1 & RS2) to one BW System (BWS).
In BW , we will build two flows corresponding to project A et B. Both flows are independant.
In BW System (BWS) the flow for project A already exists.
We have to build the flow for project B
    1. What is to be considered?
    2. Is there any approach to be followed?
3.How to maintain or handle master Data and infoojects issues? This question because all standard Infoobjects will be used by
       both.
    4. How can i differenciate between data comming from system RS1 & RS2?
    5. How to get only data for the corresponding system loaded?
    6. What are the points to be considered?
    7. What about the authorization?
    8. Any Document or how to?
    Thanks

    Hi Gilo
    1. What is to be considered?
Nothing much, different ECC systems will have different logical system names, so creation of source system is not a problem. All the DataSource related tables also have LOGSYS name as a key. So you can identify same datasource from different sources
    2. Is there any approach to be followed?

3.How to maintain or handle master Data and infoojects issues? This question because all standard Infoobjects will be used by both.
Master Data need to be compounded with source system id if they are different in different system.

    4. How can i differenciate between data comming from system RS1 & RS2?
Refer to ans of 3 for master data. Transaction data as you said would be in different flow altogether.
    5. How to get only data for the corresponding system loaded?
You will have different PSA and InfoPackage for DataSources as DataSource is source system specific. So you can have completely independent process chain for each system.
Normally loading delta is not a problem, but loading CO-PA data from both the systems via delta method is not possible.
    6. What are the points to be considered?
    already discussed.
    7. What about the authorization?
Authorization is based on BW objects, not source system. So that will remain same.
    8. Any Document or how to?
    Need to search
