One Left speaker on MBA 11.6?!!?!?

My MBA just came through the post today and it is amazing! Just what I have expected, except one problem. It has one speaker located on the left! I have some songs that require a stereo output to enjoy, so there are some instruments I can't hear!
I don't mind the one speaker but is there a way to change some settings to that both left and right speakers would play out the one speaker for the MBA?

If you are referring of the "visible" speaker on the left side, it is actually the microphone you see. I thought the same thing.

When I watch Cable Television (not using the Apple TV), all 3 channels work fine so I know that the speaker connections are fine.

I had problems with streaming until I changed the WiFi channel that I was using. The original one conflicted with my neighbor. After that, MOST of my streaming problems vanished. Occasionally, a movie would pause for more buffering and I eventually ran an ethernet cable from the Apple TV to my Apple Extreme (to eliminate the Wifi). I have not had a single problem since then (except to repair the drywall after running the ethernet from one floor to another). :-)

I have iPhone 3GS, and everytime I go to listen to my music with my headphones the sound only goes to one ear and when I listen to music with the speakers at the bottom speaker the left speaker only works! Can someone PLEASE HELP ME?

All iphone have one and only one speaker at the bottom.
Have you tried another set of earphones? Maybe they are the problem?
Have you made sure that the headphones are inserted all the way?

Your iPhone only has one speaker. It's to the right of the lightning port. The grill on the left covers a microphone.

Setup:
Asus n78x-e deluxe motherboard with 5.1 capability
Usually i have it plugged: rear-> line in, front ->normal center/sub-> microphone
These speakers have worked fine for at least 6 months now, perfectly. Great sound output on ALL of the speakers. Today, was listening to some music, when my rear left speakers just stopped producing sound. So currently, my left rear, and left side speakers are not working. The speakers themselves actually work fine, as I have tested them with the center output, and the right outputs. None of the other speakers seem to work when plugged into left rear or left side. There is some sound, but it's significantly muted.
Help please!

PS: This also happened in my old speakers megaworks50, and i think it has something to do with a connection in the sub. I really don't want to have to deal with that. I'm hoping there's an easier solution thatn trying to RMA this. Perhaps i could open up the sub and just fix the connection? Whatsup with creative and having rear left speaker issues? I've read like 6 other posts now about the same type of problem.

Temporary fix... turn the rear left audio channel down to nothing and you have a 6.1 system that wont crackle as much, but the sub will still distort anything without channel selecti've output (like single channel mp3).
Same here tho, quite a few people have posted about it, creative denies its a problem but i am seeing it more and more online reports and even my own customers (i tune high performance pc's) are having problems.
the left rear channel just "gives up" after a certain amount of use it seems. i have since cracked mine open and i cant see anything visually wrong (other than the anti-tamper warrenty seals are pointless to anyone with knowledge of moddelling paint and varnishes), just a odd smell that might be bad wiring or good cheese.
creative have so far told me (depending on what call centre i phone us/uk/eu) that its either my drivers, a failing Audigy2 ZS or abuse of the sub (ie max bass and vol(whats the point of leting people choose a setting that will blow up the product?)) basically anything that doesnt require them giving me an RMA.
I suggest everyone with the problem goes to a real shop, buys a set, swaps the speakers out of the box with the broken ones and takes them back again for a refund. then flog the good speakers on ebay and go buy an amp and a bunch of car speakers from halfords, knock them together with some duct tape and viola, a higher quality product.
(ps, i have a bad habbit(i love paranthesis))

Left speaker drops out randomly in iTunes 7

First problem I have had with iTunes.
After installing v7 my left speaker randomly drops out. Stopping/starting the song again or going to a new song clears it up... but it randomly happens over and over.

You can always drag the songs you've chose ahead of the 5 randomly chosen ones. I use Party Shuffle a lot. Part of the time, I let iTunes select randomly, but as I feel a yen to hear a particular song or group of songs, I highlight them, control- click and select Play Next in Party Shuffle. And sometimes, I just want to rearrange the list. Just highlight and drag up or down.

Screen dimming when moving hand over left speaker??

Hi all
Curious one, I got up early, dragged out the laptop to have a look on web, I turned the brightness down to one notch (F1) I found that if I put my left hand 1 inch above the left speaker (yea that's right not touching anything) and move my hand left and right, then screen goes dimmer then brighter then dimmer and so on?
Any thoughts... got me stumped?

Well... I do understand why they did it.
Granted, the sensors should not be in the top case; bad design. I've never triggered the dim while typing, but I do get fluctuations depending on what's on the screen itself whenever I work in a dark room. I'll open a browser, for example, and my whole screen will go from my dark background picture to an empty white browser window. The flood of backlighting is enough to trigger the sensors.
If the sensors were better-placed, this would be a great feature as overly bright screens in a dim room cause eye strain and are an unnecessary battery drain. Too bad the sensors don't give the OS reliable info.

IPod only funnels sound through left speaker

my iPod Classic (120 gb) has suddenly stopped funneling sound through both speakers and now only plays through the left speaker, on whatever output i'm using, be it speakers, headphones, whatever. I had a similar problem with the last iPod i had -- a 30gb iPod video -- and my main question i suppose is if this is an easy fix with a simple solution or if my ipod is screwed and its time to get a new one. Thanks preemptively for all of your responses, hopefully i don't have to go too long without hearing both sides of harmonized guitar solos -_-

i would check the headphone 35mm jack for any foreign materials, as they may cause lessened connectivity.

There is no left speaker.
As the manual clearly shows there is only one speaker at the bottom of all iphones. The other is a mic.

Retina Macbook Pro 13 inch late 2013 left speaker louder than right

I was using my macbook pro and i noticed that the left speaker is louder than the right one. I checked the sound settings and it is set to the middle but the right one is still very faint.

If you have anything open at the time the shut down is taking place, yes.
Nothing opened on both computers.
If you have anything connected other than power to the computer, yes.
Nothing connected. Onply plugged and with Wifi Internet connection both.
If your hard drive is very full, yes.
My MacBook has more things that my new MacBook Pro Retina in the hard drive.
Repairing permissions can help. Non-Apple utilities can hinder it.

MacBook Pro Retina 13 inch left speaker not as loud as the right all daignostics have been done as well as the balance fromsystem pref pane is in the center still no luck even the PRAM was reset for a machine thats less than 3 weeks old! Called in apple support but no luck have been told to take it in for repairs all i want is value for my buck and time did not pay for a machine to have its second repair in less than 3 weeks first repair was the top case due to the keyboard being missaligned and now the left speaker not as loud as the right RIDICOLOUS NEVER HAD SUCH A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH APPLE PRODUCTS! Adjusting the Audio MIDI solved my problem thanks! What exactly caused the problem for me is unknown. Over the weekend, I did use iMovie, DivX, and audio spliter and I did connect to a pretty sophisticated audio system. One of those things surely was the gremlin.

Tactic 3d sigma left speaker just stopped working within a 24 hour period

so as title says yesterday morning i woke up and the left speaker was a little dodgy it was turning on and off anf you had tap the left speaker cup to get it to start putting out sound and make sure you didnt lay back in chair or anything to disturb it then this morning its completely dead nothing will get sound.
this is the second of this type of headset in the last 4 months and the first one died from same problem after no more than 3 months and this ones been less than 2 months till pretty much useless any ideas might help even if its just saying worst luck in defecti've product ever
edit just checked bank statements i've have this new headset since june 28 so in two and a half weeks the left speaker stopped
edited once more i checked further back the first headset laster from may 27 to just before june 28 i've never had aproblem with creative products before but i dont think ill be buying another one of these models they apperently defecti've in some way

Hello..if it's any consolation which i'm sure it's not...My earcup was faulty out of the box..i.e turned round and round.
If you check the G35 and platro¤¤ 777 you will find similar QA problems.
Don't know if the problem are related to different batches but it seems that there is a lot to be desired in some companies manufacture and QA departments.
Just hope these companies realise what damage is being done to thier reputation and maybe remember the old saying
"if it cheap (presumably manufacturing costs) then there is something fishy about it." ( assuming they're getting third-party companies to manufacture a lot of these)
this is 00 % pure conjecture on my part and the percentages of faults may be very small in real terms compared to the number of units sold?
But if users are to be believed and such stories similar to -,these are 2 or (8) months old and I picked them up today and the left earcup fell off...don't fill one with confidence. From what I can gather most internet shops/manufacturers have been ok at replacing headsets..it's just the inconvience of having to send them in(may or may not be reimbursed for shipping costs) and be without a headset for a while especillay when they are DOA..GREAT BOUGHT NEW PRODUCT ..DOA BUT as a customer I have to wait two weeks to get a replacement....NOT GOOD BUSINESS
in my case the company I bought them from (SIGMA's) did have a replacement in stock though they stated that they had some on order but didn't have a confirmed deli'very date from creative...so i got my money back but missed an offer on another headset . Now I don't have any headset :-(
The long and short of it seems that QA seems to be a problem at the moment in MY view...you might buy from another manufacturer and get a faulty headset?
I am thinking of just getting some Audio (music) phones and maybe a soundcard..
