One main apple account and multiple icloud accounts

Help please! We have one main apple account/ID that we use for purchases. I have set up seperate iCloud accounts for my 3 kids so that our information (mail, contacts, etc) is kept seperate. I have enabled the restrictions on their iPods also.
It looked like I had everything separated correctly, they had their own contact book, their own email account, and were (hopefully) able to only iMessage/Facetime with the contacts that are loaded in their phone. I went to test this by going to iMessage and started to type one of the pre-loaded contacts in their phone and all my  personal contacts showed up. I do not want my kids accidentlly iMessaging my contacts. How are these getting pulled in? I can not find in settings anywhere where to turn this off. My contacts are not listed in their contact book on their iPod?
Thank you so much for your help!

My kids favorite games are mindcraft and flappy bird and when I mentioned restoring their phone they were a bit worried. Looks like I might need some quiet time to read that document over and see if their is a way to save their info in the games. Looks like there might be? If I can figure that out then I will for sure restore their phones. In the meantime I am telling them to be super careful not to send mass text to my contacts Thank you for your help!

  • How can I have one "family" Apple ID and two icloud accounts one for me and one for the wife?

MacVirgin!Just got new Air and iMac (iphones on the way). How can I have one Apple ID but two iCloud accounts (one for me and one for my wife)? I have set up one iCloud account and am attempting to share contacts between iMac, iCloud and Air, however iMac and iCloud are not in sync? I must be missing something very simple.

ok. I set up the imac and Air with one user account. this was used to activae iCloud on both machines and I have now se up one iCloud account and managed to share calander and contacts between the two. Ultimately both me and my wife will have an iphone and we wish to share calenders and contacts. We both also use the imac and air on one user account. It looks like I need to set another user account then activate iCloud in my wifes Apple ID

  • When I try to log into my main Apple account (I'm using a side one to post this) on iTunes, it says my password is incorrect, which I know it isn't, and the password reset email never appears anywhere in my email. Anybody had this problem/have a solution?

My account suddenly started saying that my password for my apple ID is wrong, when I haven't changed it, and I know I've been typing it in correctly. So I tried to reset my password, but it needs my DOB for, and I created this account five years ago, and apparently didn't put in my actual one, so I can't reset my password that way. I got Apple to send me a reset email to the email address of the main Apple account, but the email never arrives in my inbox, or my spam/junk folders. I've tried this multiple times and still nothing. I've had to create a new account just to post this question, which is annoying in itself.
    Can anyone help me?

    Hello CarenzaRielle,
I know not being able to access your Apple ID can be frustrating. I have located an article that will walk you through a series of troubleshooting steps to resolve this:
Apple ID: If you forget your password
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5787
Refer to the Apple ID Support page if you are unable to reset your password using the steps in this article. If you know your Apple ID password, you can also choose to change your Apple ID or change your password.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.

What, exactly, are you trying to do? You can use the same iCloud account on as many devices as you want, as long as you don't turn on iTunes Match. Once you turn on Match, you're limited to 10 devices total.
Is this what you want to do...same iCloud account, but different iTunes/App store accounts on each device? If so, you can do that also.

I used my apple Id and my iCloud account on my mom's iPhone and all my contacts and stuff went to her phone and hers on mine. I tried to delete my apple id off of her phone now how do I delete the iCloud? And will the data from my phone be deleted too if I delete my iCloud off of her phone?

    thank you so much!!!!
Well, yeah.  You want to create separate accounts for each of you, using individual Apple IDs.  I know mothers and daughters like to share clothes, shoes, handbags, etc. but don't share Apple IDs.

  • Is it safe/secure to enter one's apple id and password (e.g., email, icloud, Facetime, iTunes, etc.) when attached to a public wifi?

Is it safe/secure to enter one's Apple id and password (e.g., email, icloud, Facetime, iTunes, etc.) when attached to a public wifi?
I would imagine this applies to any iOS mobile device.  I need to set up a video conference at a local library meeting room.  I was going to use my MacBook Pro and Facetime.  When I open Facetime on my MBP, it prompts me for my  Apple id and password. If I were to enter it when connected to a pulic wifi, is the transmission of my account info visible?
What about when connecting to something like an Optimum Online hotspot where I need a username and password to access the wifi? Is that any more secure?
    Thanks

Thanks.  I had heard stories of Apple ids and passwords being stolen when using pulic wi fi.
    Thanks again.

  • HT204053 I changed my Apple ID and my icloud storage in my IPad was not transferred to my new ID, how can you help me?

I changed my Apple ID and my icloud storage was not transferred to the new one, how can I retrieve it?

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  However, with iOS 7, you must provide the password for the old ID to turn of Find My iPhone before you can delete the account.
If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • My Apple ID and my iCloud id are under different emails how do I change my iCloud email to my apple email

help I have a new email address which I have changed on my Apple ID but my iCloud email is under my old email so can't sign in, how do I change it so my Apple ID and my iCloud id are under the same email and password

If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID and that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

  • My apple id and my icloud id are not matching on my iphone.

After I first set up my apple id and my icloud, all of my email info changed.  I was able to update everything on my apple id to my current email/username and password.  After downloading the new ios 7, I have noticed that on my 4S my icloud id still shows as my old username that is inaccurate.  It will not let me complete the set up because everything else is correct.  I cannot update this on my pc because the old id does not show up anywhere else because my apple id is already set.  How can I change the username on my phone to match everything else?

Many people are having this issue right now.  The only solution I've seen that seems to consistently work is the one posted by Brackers28 here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23020591#23020591.  This only works if you still have access to your old email account.  If you don't, you'll have to have Apple help you reset the password for your old account so you can turn off Find My iPhone and sign in with the correct ID.

  • I have an Apple id and an icloud idea, do they work together?

I just got a new laptop, I downloaded icloud and it told me to make an icloud acount. My apple account is just a user name not an e-mail. icloud wnated me to use an e-mail for the username so now I have two accounts, and apple id and an icloud id. Can these work together? I would like to backup my music and what not to icloud because when I sync my iphone to my new computer it wants to delete all the stuff. Though when I open icloud on my computer I dont see anything about music or apps. I'm just very confused about how all this works. All I want to do is put music on my iphone from my new computer without losing all the stuff I have now. I don't get how icloud works either.

Did you already activate iCloud on your IOS device using that same apple ID?

  • I need help.  My three boys have brand new iPad mini's and I would like to set them up.  I would like to create one new apple ID and have it shared by all three.  This way they can share content (apps, music).  How do I do that?

Looking for an information management solution.  I have three boys that have brand new ipad mini's.  I would like to set them up to manage information the easiest way.
My first thought was to use my apple ID for their apps and purchases.  This would give me the advantage of seeing everything downloaded and be able to monitor this closely.  The disadvantage to me, was that they would see all of my contracts, my apps, and my music.
My other thought was to create one new apple ID and to share that among the three boys.  This way I would not have to worry about my information being on their ipads.
This is a very confusing situation for me.  My goal is seperate my stuff from my kids stuff.  Appreicate input from anyone who has in-depth experience with this as it applies to apple ID, icloud ID, and any detailed explaination of how to do this would be appreiciated.  Thanks.

I think I will do this.  I will use my apple ID and set face time and message to work independently.  That solves one problrem.  My other problem and maybe my bigger problem is that if I am using my apple ID, how do I iflter all of this so that my kids don't see my contacts, get my apps, etc. ?

  • HT204053 I have one apple ID and 2 iCloud accounts...is there a way to consolidate these accounts?

I have one apple ID , but two icloud accounts....not even sure why i have 2 now....might have happened when i got my iPad last year. Is there a way to consolidate the two icloud accounts without losing my contacts or other info?

Each iCloud account has a separate ID.  You can't have two accounts with the same ID.
If you want to consolidate them, choose the device with the account on it that you want to abandon, then save any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  If you are syncing notes with the account that you want to keep, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your other account.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide your password (if using iOS 7) and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted.  Then sign into the account you want to merge with and choose Merge when prompted.
You cannot move iCloud email accounts between iCloud accounts so you will have to leave it behind.  You can set email forwarding to the new email account, or add the email account back to your devices  as a secondary account by going to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCoud, signing in to the account and enabling Mail.  Email in this secondary account will only be fetched periodically as push email is only supported in your primary account.
