One movie purchase - two iPads

We have two iPad minis in our household.  My husband purchased a movie and this downloaded to his iPad.  We share an Apple ID on both iPads.  Should I be able to download the purchased to my iPad also?  If I can, please would someone give me the instructions for doing this.  Thanks very much.

Whether you can re-download it will depend upon what country that you are in (redownloading films isn't possible in all countries), and which film studio that it's from (not all allow redownloading). If you can redownload it then it will show in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your iPad. If not then if your husband connects the iPad to the computer's iTunes that you sync to and does File > Devices > Transfer Purchases then that should copy it over to your computer and you can then sync it to your iPad

Yes but the iPhone chargers will struggle to charge the iPads ,they need more power than the iPhone chargers produce and with an iPad will charge VERY slowly
The iPad chargers whether 10w or 12 will happily charge all your devices and Apple confirms the compatibility on the relevant web page.

  • Movie purchased on iPad & synced to iTunes not appearing on 2d Gen Apple TV

I purchased Terminator 2 on my iPad a week ago and it is synced to my iTunes movie listings. However, when I tried to watch the movie on my new Apple TV (2d gen), it was not listed in my computer library drop down movies menu. I have home sharing set up on both my iMac and the Apple TV and it works fine for everything else: all of my music and every single movie (except T2) and TV show that I have in my iTunes account shows up in the Apple TV menu.
And, yes: T2 does show up in the MOVIES section of my iTunes account on my iMac and I can watch the movie on my iMac, iPad and iPhone without a problem. This one movie simply does not appear on the 2d gen Apple TV!
Any ideas? Thx for any assistance!

  • How to share one laptop with two iPad for iTunes acc

One laptop with two iTunes acc...

It's possible. You just have to be very diligent about signing out of one account to use the other.

  • I can not see an itunes movie purchase on ipad 2

I transferred 3 movies to my ipad 2. I can see all 3 when I click on ON THIS iPAD in itunes, however I can only find 2 of the 3 movies in the video app on the ipad. Can I make the movie work on ipad 2? The movie is "Wreck It Ralph" and works fine on my iPad 3.

Try using a Spotlight Search on the iPad.
Swipe to the right from your first home screen to get to the iPad Spotlight search. Type in the name of any of the movies in the field at the top. When and if the movie appears in the search - tap on it and it should start to play. Let it play for a minute or so - hit done - go back to videos app and see if it shows up.

  • Movies purchased on iPad do not show up in iTunes

I purchased some movies and TV shows on my iPad 2 while I was out of town, and they downloaded fine. However, I get home and they won't show up in my iTunes library (running Mountain Lion, everything up to date). They show up in my purchase history in the account, but don't show up in the list of actual purchased items or available downloads (like songs do after they're purchased). Any advice?

Films and TV shows can't currently be re-downloaded in all countries. If you still have them on your iPad then you should be able to copy them over from it by connecting it to your Mac's iTunes and doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases

  • Movie purchased on iPad doesn't show up in iTunes

    Hello,
I purchased a movie from the iTunes Store using my iPad2.  I'm trying to find it in my iTunes on my PC, but it's not there.  I recently changed operating systems from Windows Vista to Windows 7, and I'm still muddling thru synching up my music and playlists (any help on that would be appreciated, too!).
My iPhone 4 can see the movie, but there isn't enough room on the phone to sync the movie to it.
I'd like to have the purchased movie on all three devices.  My iPhone and iPad2 seem to know I purchased the movie, but my iTunes doesn't.  How can I make iTunes see the movie?
    Thanks!

  • Movie purchased on iPad doesn't appear on Apple TV

Last week, my son purchased the SD version of Terminator 2 on his iPad and, after syncing to our iMac, we have been able to watch the movie on the computer, my iPhone and an iPod touch. However, the movie doesn't appear in the movies that are listed under the "computers" tab of the home screen of my 2d gen Apple tv.
Of course, I have home sharing set to all of my Apple devices, so that isn't the problem. Additionally, I have the latest version of iTunes, OS X and iOS on the devices. Interestingly, all of the other movies that I have in my movies library in iTunes on my iMac show up on the Apple tv menu - EXCEPT T2!
For what it's worth, I noticed that Terminator 2 is not available to rent on my Apple tv; I don't know if that's merely a coincidence, or an actual explanation for my problem.
Can anyone offer me any insight as to why the T2 movie that was purchased from iTunes on an iPad doesn't even appear on my Apple tv? Is there some kind of default setting that only allows the Apple tv to stream movies that were purchased from the home sharing computer from which it is streaming content, in my case, the iMac?
    Thx for any help!

  • One account for two iPads, different content

    Hello everyone.
I've got a question - I recently bought an iPad2 in addition to my first iPad, and I'm wondering if it is possible to use the same account (and the same PC) for both iPads, while having a different set of apps, photos, music and other stuff on them. If it is possible, then how it is done?
Also, a related question - my first iPad is set to auto-sync with iTunes, and I'm tired of it copying useless stuff on connect. If I set it to manual sync, will I lose all my purchases for that iPad? And if I set my second iPad to manual sync, is it possible to manually sync only the important things that I don't want to lose, while ignoring, for example, all the free apps?

I'm wondering if it is possible to use the same account (and the same PC) for both iPads, while having a different set of apps, photos, music and other stuff on them
    Yes
    how it is done?
Just chose what you want to sync to each device when connected to iTunes.
f I set it to manual sync, will I lose all my purchases for that iPad?
Of course not.  Why would that happen?
is it possible to manually sync only the important things that I don't want to lose,
You can tell iTunes to sync whatever you want.
I suggest you read the manual:

  • Two accounts and home share or one account with two iPads?

I am in college and I have an iPad II but I am getting an iPad II for a course to use this semester. Should I set up another itunes acct or use the one I already have?

...my son-in-law who promptly set up a second admin account.
So if the first Admin account still exists (you can have more than one account with Admin priveleges) its password will still be valid. Also from within that first Admin account, you can delete the second account created by your son-in-law, if you wanted to do that.
Any software he installed should be in Applications and will still be accessible to all other accounts.
Also be aware you can reset your son-in-laws Admin password as outlined here.
OS X: Changing or resetting an account password
That last option may be desirable.

  • One Apple-id - Two iPads

I have just one Apple-id, one iPad and one iMac.
I'd like to have a Face-Time from my home with my daughter on the other iPad.
How can I connect to ? (the identity is the same !).
Moreover, does FaceTime works if iPad is on 3G ?
    Thanks for your help

I have the same. Just give each device a different email address in the place where you turn this function on. I have only 1 Apple id/email address  I used my Comcast email address for the other device.
I do not know @ 3G issue. Once you get both devices working you can figure rather FaceTime works in that environment.

  • One itunes account, two ipads (no cloud). What will happen when I sync the new ipdad the first time?

My original iPAD is full of pictures, music, books and apps and was recently synced (iOS7) to my PC.
Just bought a new iPAD (Mini), and not sure what will happen if I sync it to my PC. Will the failry empty Mini wipe out all my content on the PC? or can I just select what from my PC I wat to sync to this new iPAD?

No, syncing an additional iDevice to a computer will have no affect on the original.
    Syncing is per device.
Connect the new device, select the content desired to sync and sync.

  • Can i show a 2 disc DVD as one movie

I am copying my DVD's to itunes library.  i have a double disc DVD "Auschwitch - The Nazis & 'The Final Solution'" and it is saved under the same route file >>>Itunes Media>>Movies>>Auschwitch - The Nazis & 'The Final Solution' but one has the added 2 to differentiate it from the other.  it shows up in my Itunes but as two separate movies.  i have tried to copy the album title as I have in my music to group it but it just wont merge to one movie with two disc.  Is it possible? I am using Itunes 11.2.1.1

I'll add one other comment, not related to the technical question you asked, but more on the creative side.
I've created a number of memorial slideshows both with and without video, and one of the most important things to keep in mind is that shorter is usually better. Depending on the venue in which it will be shown, I've found 10-20 minutes to be plenty of time to capture the essence of the person and hit the emotional impact the occasion calls for. After some point, longer takes away from the impact rather than adds to it. Two hours is a LONG time.
If the family insists I suppose you have little choice, but make sure they know there is a difference between a tribute and an unabridged autobiography.
Secondly, remind yourself this is NOT the time to show off your technical wizardry and special effects/transitions. Get out of the way and let the person being memorialized be the focus. Simple is way better here.
And kudos to you for taking on this project. It's a lot of work but will be treasured for years.
