One of my vaults stopped updating

Hi all,
Any ideas what might be wrong?
I have Aperture 3.0.3, library about 200GB. I've set up three vaults: one internal raid set and two USB disks. I had to do a restore a week ago and did that from the internal vault. No problems whatsoever. After the restore the first vault update to the internal disk and one of the USB disks took several hours but completed eventually.
Now I've got the other USB disk back at home. The vault didn't update, just got stuck to about 50% (completed "copying masters", then nothing happens). The progress bar is there but aperture acts as if the update process had been completed. All the aperture controls are responsive but the vault is marked red as "not up to date".
I deleted the vault and re-created it to the same disk. Same result. The other two vaults update normally but this one doesn't, no matter what I do. I've run Aperture fix and repair tools, system permissions repair etc etc etc but nothing seems to help.
The disk is a seagate USB 500gb disk, MAC os extended (Case-sensitive, journaled).
Should I report a bug or is this a known feature?

Given that the library backs up to vaults on other drives the variable is the drive, check the ownership on the drive you are writing to. Get info on the drive and check the Sharing & Permissions tab.

How to stop update notification for one app (iMovie) that I do not want to update. I do not want iMovie 10 taking up nearly 3 gb on my hard disc. iMovie 9 is just fine and only takes up 1.5 gb. But I get notifications to update and don't know how to turn it off. I've gone into the Purchases tab of the App store and deleted it. I don't want to turn off Update notifications (which is irrelevant in any case because I see no option to do that in Notifications system preference pane). I have multiple apple ID's for multiple devices. I use icloud on my pc to sync the photostreams for all of them. In the last 2 weeks they all stopped updating completely but one. I have tried everything but 2 dont work and one still does. I have turned it on/off uninstalled, reset photostream. Is there someway that they eventually just stop working?

When Adobe Acrobat crashes and I restart, next thing I know, every app - +one at a time+ - stops responding and "Force Quit" tells me that. I am unable to quit these apps the normal way. I must quit them using "Force Quit." So after Force Quitting each app one at a time, I restart my iMac, version OS 10.6.7 and all is well again for the time being.
I have used many maintenance utilities: Cocktail, Drive Genius, Onyx, SLCC, etc. They do their thing, but 3 − 4 days later the same problem occurs.
MY QUESTION: Can anyone tell me what may be causing this problem or what it's related to??
If I know the answer to this I can maybe fix it.

Click on the HD icon and do a GetInfo. How much free space is there on the drive? You need to maintain at least 15%-20% free of available.
When this is happening, have a look in Console>Files>system.log for any possibly relevant messages. Also have a look in Activity Monitor to see if something is hogging the CPU. Run Acrobat Pro and see what the CPU usage is. Also, in Activity Monitor>System Memory, down at the bottom what do you see for Swap used and Page outs? Should be a low number or zero. If not, you may need more RAM or need to run fewer applications at the same time. Also check to see how much free and inactive RAM there is.

Bug:iTunes 7 stops updating podcasts that I do not want it to stop updating

Some podcasts that I subscribe to are updated as often as every hour (for example, CNN's hourly update). I do not listen to the podcasts every hour, but always want the latest podcast there, or the podcast becomes useless. iTunes keeps deciding not to update those podcasts, and then I have to manually tell it to keep updating. There is no way to turn this off. Since I listen to a lot of podcasts of news shows and other content that is only useful to listen to soon after it was broadcast, this really degrades the usefulness of listening to podcasts in iTunes.
Apple needs to provide a way to disable this behavior, or even better, to allow users to set a per-podcast update frequency and maximum stored podcast count. (I want all available unheard podcasts for my comedy podcasts, for example, but I only want the latest one or two podcasts for news podcasts because older ones are no longer useful.)

Not without more information. At a minimum, you'd have to provide an error messages from the console log relating to the applications that crashed. If you don't want to go to that trouble, just follow the standard procedure for fixing almost any system problem:
(1) Back up all data.
(2) Run "Verify Disk" on your startup volume in Disk Utility, and if any problems are found, boot from your installation disc and "Repair Disk" as many times as necessary until it comes out clean.
(3) Boot from the installation disc and reinstall Mac OS X.
(4) Reboot as usual and run Software Update as many times as necessary to bring everything up to date.
This procedure will solve nearly all problems such as yours, unless they're caused by third-party system add-ons or by a hardware fault.

ACPI battery level stops updating

Hello,
I have a strange problem with battery level (displayed using xfce4-power-manager). At startup it updates but not very precisely (not percent by percent), after some minutes it stops updating.
I thought it was an xfce problem, so I installed xfce4-power-manager-git. But reading acpi status and getting /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/ info reports same results as xfce. ACPI does not update battery level!
Why acpi stops updating my battery level?

Now, to get battery level I'm manually polling using a cron job executing acpi -V command...
I've not yet found another solution to get battery level update working.

TOC stopped updating properly...

Hello - I'm having an issue with my Table of Contents. It has stopped updating properly. I have a 90+ page manual where I had the TOC working fine. I have been saving revisions of the manual when edits were made. The issue is that when I go to Update TOC, it clears the entire TOC of all the headings for the main body content. It keeps the "title" and the "Index" heading which happens to be the last entry for the TOC (this heading/page is not threaded with the rest of the main body).
I went back and looked at TOC for previous revisions, and I changed something 2 revisions ago and since then the TOC stopped working. The only significant format change I can remember is that the TOC originally was not threaded in with the main content of the document. Looking back a couple of revisions ago I had gone in and threaded it to the main body of the document. By the time I realized there was an error occurring I had saved yet another revision. But in this last revision I went in an unthreaded the TOC from the rest of document but it did not correct the issue. Needless to say, I have made several edits within the document that I haven't necessarily tracked (grammer, spelling). So going back several revisions to the properly working TOC would require re-edits of that revision....something I'd rather not have to do.
I'm using 3 levels of Section Headings/Paragraph Styles in my TOC --- and i've gone into the main body and those headings are still properly set as their respective paragraph style. I've even tried creating a completely NEW TOC in my latest revision with just one paragraph style and nothing comes up in my TOC. Its like nothings there or it can't see the tagged style in the document, but I know it is there.
Any ideas? Please help.

I knew through my back revisions it was a threading issue. So I followed the above poster's advice and I basically CUT my entire manual and then deleted all the empty pages. Added 2 pages back and then pasted my content into those pages. Tested the TOC and when it asked me If i wanted to include overset text I knew I'd fixed it and that it was looking at all the headings. The whole content came up just like its supposed to. Then I added 90 more pages and expanded the thread back. All seems to be good.
Do NOT put TOC in your threaded story. Not cool. I had it right at first and then put it in there ---- that's what screwed me up.
....now back to work!

If you don't have an icloud account, then icloud is not the thing that's popping up a window.
If you are being asked to enter a password when accessing itunes, then the problem may be that you have purchased items (apps, songs, etc) on the device that were purchased using a different itunes account than the one you currently have defined on your device.
Purchased items are forever associated with the itunes account (the apple ID) that was used to make the purchase. If you change the ID on the device, you won't be able to update any of them. You'll have to purchase them again.

HT201317 shared photostream appears to have stopped updating

My shared photostream appears to have stopped updating to other users, any thoughts as to why this may have happened? It has worked for the last 3 weeks with no problems, I still have 4.8gb of iCloud storage and I have only uploaded 83 pictures.

At that point I would recommend just waiting and allowing it some time. Last year, before IOS 6 came out there was some backlog in some Apple systems. If problem does not fix itself in few days, I would suggest re sharing the new stream and deleting old one.

Can I stop Update Rollups from downloading to WSUS?

Previous we had Update Rollups configured and now we'd like them gone. Originally the goal was to stop Silverlight but now we want all the Update Rollups to not be present in the WSUS server.
Here is what I tried based on results O found here via Google: I disabled the classification, ran the cleanup wizard, stopped Update Service, did a deletion of the WSUScontent contents, started the Update service, then did a wsusutil reset. The WSUSContent
folder was rebuilt over the weekend and now when I add the view for Update Rollups they are back again.
What did I do wrong?

It sounds like you are saying once a product classification is synchronized, it is stuck in the WSUS database, and there is no option to prevent that classification from synchronizing in the future.

No, it's not accurate, and it's not what I said.
Once an update has been synchronized, it is synchronized. Synchronization is the act of getting NEW
updates from Microsoft. Your choices in Products and Classifications determines which
NEW updates you get from Microsoft.
So.. if you don't want to get any more NEW Update Rollups, you uncheck "Update Rollups" and you will get no more NEW Update Rollups. But the ones you already have aren't going anywhere.
If you don't want to get anymore NEW Windows Vista updates, then you uncheck "Windows Vista" and you will get no more NEW Windows Vista updates. But the ones you already have aren't going anywhere.

I'm a beginner to labview and have a request. My VI seems to run fine and then partially hangs. I am asking if someone experienced could look at my VI and provide advice. Let me know if I'm breaking any "best principles" etc.
I'm trying to read rev/min of a shaft. For testing I run a motor (bench grinder with one metal tooth added) with Variable Reluctance Sensor pickup, signal conditioned through a LM2907 and further through a voltage comparator finally outputting a 0-5v square wave at ~59Hz. In time I would like to vary it from close to zero (~10hz) to up to 2kHz.
I have a SCB-68, and PCI-MIO-16XE-10 (PCI-6030E) and am using the counter to record the pulses in low frequency, single counter mode. I want to use this, rather than 2 counter mode, as the DAQ has 2 counters and I have 2 rpm's to eventually record.
After a varying amount of time the VI stops updating the gauge and frequency indicator but the real time box continues to update. Is there a problem with my VI? I am trying to sample the most recent buffered data point and the 49 before it to smooth the data. Maybe you can't multiply read buffer data points. If not could someone please provide guidance on how to properly perform this measurement. I'd prefer to update the display every 100ms so it is pleasing to the user.

I don’t use the counter functions of DAQ, but if this were for analogue DAQ there is a conflict between the task set up and the timed loop which asks for 50 samples on each loop. The program will start to work at first, but over time the buffer will become full and you'll get problems. Also you probably don’t need to keep track of where the sample position is yourself, it should be handled by the DAQ read function.
Take a look at the modified diagram and give it a try.

Photos Stopped Updating

I have an issue where my photos stopped updating from iCloud. I've tried logging out of iCloud on the Apple TV. Pulling the power on the Apple TV and nothing seems to work. I don't understand it. Everyhting else is working, and my photos are syncing on everything else. Any one else have this problem on a second gen device?

I'm sorry, but your update seems to have been corrupted and you have to restore the iOS Software now in order to make your iPad usable again. This will explain to you how to restore the software.

Page stopped updating 3 podcasts ago

My itunes page stopped updating my podcasts 3 episodes ago and feedvalidator says my feed is valid, also when i enter the feed in itunes under files/subcribe to podcast it pulls in the lasest episodes it just isnt updating on the page. any ideas?

I got to checking to see what the url was that was first excepted by them and it is the one that is working. this is the email they sent me when it was first set up.
