Hi,
we have a client who ha SharePoint 2013 foundation installed. They bought third party extension, and unfortunately they found out, that extension is compatible up to SharePoint 2010.
Is it possible to install new SharePoint server 2010, connect it to existing SP 2013 farm and thus activate extension for SP 2010?

Issue with AjaxControlToolkit for SharePoint 2013 Blog site template.

Please find below the details of issue -
History - We are working with SharePoint 2013 and we are using AjaxControlToolkit in our project. Basically this is a migration project from MOSS to SharePoint 2013. So we have migrated code MOSS to SharePoint 2013. Previously in MOSS project, AjaxControlToolkit
was used so after migrating we have also used AjaxControlToolkit with updated version which can work in SharePoint 2013. This is working fine now.
Scenario - There is one web application in SharePoint 2013 farm. Under this web application there are two site collections. One site collection is created with Team site template and second site collection is created with Blog site template.
There are three feature in our wsp that we have created. One feature is at web application scope (which will do web.config modifications and it will add below entry in web.config file through SPWebConfigModification in section 'configuration/system.web/compilation/assemblies'

). And there are two site collection features.
Now when we deploy our solution (wsp) to web application in SharePoint 2013 farm and activate the Web.Config modification feature which is at web application level, it has added above mentioned entry in web.config file.
Our application in first site collection is working fine which we are expecting but in the second site collection which is created using out of box Blog site template, 'comment box' and Post button are invisible as shown in below screen shot -
If we remove below entry from web.config file -

and refresh the Blog site page then the Comment box and Post button is appearing again as shown in below screen shot -
We also tried with updated versions of AjaxControlToolkit (Version=4.5.7.1005 & 4.5.7.1213) but no success.
I will highly appreciate if you could help me in this.

As you said, the issue only comes with the Blog site template.

Hi I'm trying to setup SQL reporting services in a SharePoint 2013 farm consisting of:
4 WFE's
4 App Servers (NLB Central Admin x 4 servers)
4 App Severs for SSRS (Light limited SharePoint services running)
I've installed SSRS 2012 SP1 by following the guide (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg492276.aspx) on one of the SSRS SharePoint 2013 servers and ensuring Reporting Services - SharePoint and Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint Products is selected.
All completed without errors and I have even upgraded to SP2 for troubleshooting but no joy.
I've then gone into SharePoint Central Admin and I cannot see SQL Reporting Service available In the list of runnning services on the server I have just installed SSRS on and going to manage service applications I cannot see in the new dropdown menu SQL
Reporting Services.
I have ran the following commands in the SHarePoint management shell:
Install-SPRSService and Install-SPRSSeviceProxy
and
get-spserviceinstance -all |where {$_.TypeName -like "SQL Server Reporting*"} | Start-SPServiceInstance
The reply was that the service was already online on the server.
So in powershell all seems ok but it does not appear in central administration.
I have also moved Central Administration to the SSRS SharePoint server too.

In my lab environment of a 4 server SP2013 farm it worked immediately when i installed it on the app server (CA host) so I dont think it is my install strategy.
I guess my next attempt is to install SSRS on an app server with central administration hosted.
ThanksI had the same issue on 2 different environments.
I had 2 application servers. One had Central Administration. I installed SSRS on the other one and it never appeared in the Service Applications in SharePoint.
When I also provisioned Central Administration on the other application server and went to the service applications using Central Admin on that server, the SSRS service application was there.
Since then I always install SSRS on the server which hosts Central Admin. No issues then. -

I converted data connection in to UDC file and uploaded in the Data connection Library in SharePoint 2013
I published the list… when I new document I am getting an error …

Also I would suggest you to create a simple web service to get and update the data to database . And use that Web service to your DB operations .

I have one farm with two SharePoint 2013 servers: server1 and server2,I have the same site on both servers, server1 and server2, I need to sync Power view reports between Server1 and Server2, can you help me how implement it?

MySite MySitePowerView reports are standard content, just like any other document. The file is stored in the SQL database and displayed via the browser. You just need a network load balancer for Server1 and 2 in order to route users as required.

One drive (sky drive) for sharepoint 2013

We have Sharepoint 2013 and would like to use the sky drive (one drive)..
We don't use Office 2013, but Office 2010
I found the link to the download of onedrive.
The download name was:

I am trying to send the one drive out to all our computers at our business to be used with Sharepoint 2013.
The downloaded install doesn't appear to be a standalone install. I opened up a command line.
put Setup.x86.en-us_GrooveRetail_3V9N8-W93CC-FQPB8-Y9WVF-TVGJ3_TX_PR.exe /?
This gives the following output.

I tried the Setup.x86.en-us_GrooveRetail_3V9N8-W93CC-FQPB8-Y9WVF-TVGJ3_TX_PR.exe /download
This supposedly will download files needed to create an office16 installation source. I don't want an office16 installation source, but I want the onedrive stanalone installer.
The command didn't download any files.
So does anyone know how to deploy the onedrive to multiple computers. Make note we don't have office 2013 any reference to trying to create a custom install for it useless because we don't have the product.
Please help.
Adam J.Do you know where to find the .msi? I have the above .iso extracted. If I run groovemui.msi I get the following error:
Error 1713: Setup cannot install one of the required products for Microsoft GrooveMUI (English) 2013.

you will need to use the setup.exe (found in the Office2013 ISO) - you can't just use the MSI for groove (ODfB).
You will need to create a customisation of the Office2013 (either MSPfile, or config.xml), to set the feature states as you wish (i.e. ODfB=runfrommycomputer(Local), and everything else=notavailable(Absent))

Is it possible to run Office Web Application Server (shows preview images for docs and allows Notepad, Word, Excel to work etc) on one of the SharePoint 2013 App Servers. I don't want to have to create a new server. It talks about setting
up a farm.
Better still how the feck do you switch this functionlity off - I always remember it being a pain in the arse. We accidentally ran the first part of the configuration on one of the SharePoint App Servers only to find out our subscription does not
have this download (bar stewards changed this Nov 2014 - just after started contract).

It just install some windows feature to the current server, we can find it should be done before installing several server products.
Could you please verify if the command you executed is the same as the one above?
You could also go to local disk and check if there is OfficeWebApps folder under C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\?
If you check in Control Panel > Programs, is there any feature related to Office Web Apps?
If you have confirmed there is no Office Web Apps feature installed, please go to SharePoint document library settings, and make the document to open in client, does it work?

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to know which SharePoint build version should be applied to Windows Server 2012 and where to get cumulative update.
If you want to use SharePoint in Windows Server 2012, you can use the RTM version 15.0.4420.1017.

I am using SharePoint 2013. I have mapped several network drives. When adding files off SharePoint to an Outlook email, I can only add one file at a time. I can add multiple files IF they are not on SharePoint (e.g., stored locally, or on Dropbox); Previously,
when using SharePoint 2010, I was able to upload multiple files.

There are two methods to add multiple files from SharePoint library to outlook emails:
Sync SharePoint library to outlook via “Connect to Outlook”, then you will find SharePoint Lists in outlook. Locate the library folder, you could select multiple items and drag them to an email.
Open SharePoint library via “Open with Explorer”, then you could selected multiple files and drag them to an email.

SharePoint 2013 Delete old AD-securitygroup, create new one: No permission
Hello there
Im currently stuck with this issue - i had Group A, Group B, Group C in my AD. Group B to C and forth were members of Group A. Now i deleted Group A to recreate Group A and added the other groups as a member. However, if i assign permissions to Group A,
the users are not allowed to enter the site. If I attach permissions to Group B and forth, it works.
I believe its a sync issue and I've tried various things such as http://sharelockpoint.wordpress.com/2013/11/14/access-denied-for-ad-group-users-in-sharepoint-2013/. It didnt help though.
Any idea?
Best regardsHow long has it been since you recreated the AD Group? After recreating it did you remove it from the SharePoint group and re-add it?
You could have one of two problems.
First, like users AD groups are identified by Security Identifier (SID) not by name. So if you delete Group A and recreate it SharePoint won't see it as Group A anymore. So you need to remove and replace any instances of Group A in SharePoint
after recreating it.
Second, Users and Group membership are used in SharePoint as Claims tokens. Claims authentication has a could caching mechanisms that can prevent Group membership changes from showing up in the system for up to 24 hours. So if its been
less than 24 hours you might want to wait and see if the change works after that.

Domain profile—This profile is active when the server is connected to an Active Directory (AD) domain via an internal network. This is the profile that's typically active, because most servers are members of an AD domain.
Private profile—This profile is active when the server is a member of a workgroup. Microsoft recommends more restrictive firewall settings for this profile than for the domain profile.
Public profile—This profile is active when the server is connected to an AD domain via a public network. Microsoft recommends the most restrictive settings for this profile.
