One or more files...missing

I have re-installed my OS (Tiger). Upon launching Photoshop the first time (CS2) I had to re-authorize, ok, no problem (I hope). Then the window appears: One or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder, necessary to running Photoshop, are missing. Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop. Then the program continues launching, presumably with some function(s) crippled.
My question: can I simply copy the Adobe Application Support folder onto my hard drive from the SuperDuper backup that I made before re-installing the OS? Will this satisfy the requirement? Sounds simpler than re-installing Photoshop, then probably having to re-authorize, etc.
Thanks for any thoughts.

Try it (copy the
CONTENTS
of the folder over. Don't make a second folder in your
.../Library/... folder). Can't hurt. If it doesn't work, just remove the files you copied over and try something else.
Make notes about what goes where, if you have to. Make a backup copy of items you're mucking about with, if you're unsure of anything. Just make sure you create enough clues for yourself so you can return your system and particularly the App Support folder back to the way it was before you started experimenting.

  • One or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder...

Upon opening Photoshop CS5 I have the following message displayed on the screen. I have uninstalled and re-installed Photoshop but it did not make a difference., the message keeps showing up. It is getting annoying and I have no idea which files are missing. Anyone know how to fix this? I am copying the message here:
One or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing.  Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop.

It's not a systemic problem, no.  Photoshop CS5 can certainly run without an error message.
Was it working without the error message on your system at one time?
Have you made any changes to the files supplied as part of Photoshop?
An uninstall (possibly via the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool) followed by a reinstall will probably get you working again.

  • Uninstalled Old PS Versions - Now Get "One Or More File. . .etc" Error Message When Launching PS CC

I just unistalled PS C3 through 6 on my computer leaving only PS CC for use going forward.  Having done this I now get this error message when launching PS CC:  "One or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing.  Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop."  The thing is PS CC still appears to be working okay once that error message is cleared.  How can I get rid of that error message?  I can't reinstall using the CC Updater because it still sees PS CC on the system thus it won't install another copy.  I'd just as soon not uninstall it and I'm not sure that would fix the issue anyway.
    Any ideas?

    Hi jpolster,
You can uninstall PS CC through the Control Panel in windows/Utilities in MAC & the reinstall PS CC.
    Thanks

  • Error Uploading Files - One or more files could not be uploaded

Hi, I used Adobe SendNow without any problems for years.  Since the migration to Adobe Acrobat, I don't think I have once managed to successfully send any files.  Each time I get the message: Error Uploading Files - One or more files could not be uploaded. Please try again.  If someone could help that would be great or else I will need to subscribe to alternative file sharing service that actually uploads files.  I previously filed a Case Request looking for assistance, and within 2 seconds I received an automated response: "With this response, we believe your issue is resolved and have therefore closed your case 0186251803" !!!

    Hi,
Those sizes (and numbers and numbers of files) shouldn't present any problem, but obviously something is amiss.
If you wouldn't mind trying to upload via the Files tab, and then sending from there, that would help us to diagnose. To upload your files, simply sign in and click on the Files tab. You might want to make a folder to hold the files you are going to send. To do this, click on the folder with the + sign. Then open that folder and click on the cloud with the arrow.
(The other way to upload files is to simply drag and drop them.)  If you have trouble uploading many files at once (you shouldn't!), try one at a time. Again, I am interested to know what method, if any, works for you.
Now that you have your files uploaded (at least, I hope you've been able to do it successfully!), click on the Send tab and follow the instructions for selecting Acrobat.com Files instead of My Computer.
You should now see the folder you just created. Open it up, and select the files you want to send.
If you have any trouble with this method, give a holler. Though since it's getting late here on the east coast, I might not be able to respond until the morning.

Adobe web chat come up with a solution.
    Open the PP project.
Export your sequence or project as a Final Cut Pro XML file.
Set up a new PP project.
Import the Final Cut Pro XML file.
This will get you back up an running.
Since getting back to editing this project I have found that some things will be lost or change in using XML:
You will lose position key framing, black video clips, dissolve fx, audio levels, audio dynamic fx, the ability to open a multi camera clip and change the camera view.
You will keep cut points, crop fx.
Not perfect but only took a couple of hours to save 3 days work.

  • "Auto-Analyzer has skipped one or more file(s) because of potential errors"

Because of size of my photo library (>5k pics) I decided to switched of automatic auto-analyzer.
But when I use Auto-Analyzer from context menu on a single photo I always get message "Auto-Analyzer has skipped one or more file(s) because of potential errors". Why?
    PSE 9 Organizer

I have the same problem with just one of 6000 images in my library. It is a straigthforward jpg. The image is not corrupt and the thumbnail is produced just fine. PSE can edit the image perfectly.
Dimenionally it was quite large so I produced scaled down 1920-wide image but that too will not be analysed.
It is quite an unusual image taken at dawn on the top of a mountain in Bali with lots of mist. I don't know, I think maybe the auto analyzer might sometimes fail to reach a conclusion about the tags to apply. kondzik, is your image "unusual" in anyway?

  • HT4477 One complete family file missing after installing iPhoto 11 ??

One complete family file of photo's is missing after installing iPhoto 11. Installation went smoothly, and all other files complete. Have checked thru entire photo lists, including photo list at the top. Found two photo's in that should have been in that photo list that were downloaded 2 months prior to installing iPhoto 11. I keep files of each family branch on left side iPhoto window. Only the one file is missing. ????

I meant folder. Have 6 kids, and to keep track of each family quickly, I set up folders on left side of iPhoto. All others are there.

  • Error 'one or more files from adobe applications support folder are missing' PS CC 2014 running on OSX

Please help. I have just installed OSX to be able to upgrade my Adobe CC to 2014. Now each time I try to use PS CC 2014 or PS CS5, it crashes.
I tried to uninstall CS3, thinking lightening the load would help. Now I keep getting this message each time I try to open PS CS5 or PS CC 2014. What could be my problem? Thank you for any help.

You said there was an error (indicating missing files and that you need to reinstall), then you say it crashes.  Well, which is it?  And if there is a crash, what does the detailed crash report say?

  • Open one than more file from Lightroom to photoshop at the same time

    Hi,
i'm a PS Elements-User and i have a question. Is it possible to open more than 1 file from lightroom into photoshop with one click? Thank you in advance for helping me.

I use PSE9 and send several derivate files (TIFFs) from LR to PSE9 all the time to do panos.
I've recorded a little screen capture showing 4 images being sent to PSE9 from LR3.6. You can see the 4 tiffs being added to the catalog before calling PSE9 and then the 4 TIFFs arrive in PSE9.
What Operating System do you use? Can you show a screenshot of the external editor settings for PSE?

  • Error message: There is a problem accessing one or more files in your iPhoto library. Do you want iPhoto to repair permissions for this library for you?

I have been using iPhoto for years.  Today when I tried to upload pictures from camera, I received the above error message.  I select "Repair", enter my password, and then a message "iPhoto was unable to repair permissions for the library" appears. I select "Quit" and it closes iPhoto.  Quit is the only option.  What has happened?  I have tried to access the photos via other avenues such as uploading to gmail, and the photos load fine.  I have about 28,000 photos.
I do not know what version of iPhoto I am using as I am unable to access the software.  I have a iMac OS X (10.7.5).  What should I do?

Select the iPhoto application in the Applications folder and type Command+i to bring up its Info Window. There will tell the version number. If it's iPhoto 9 or later apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Cant open Perfect Effects in lightroom 5

Update: I have just installed version 8.1.1. and exported my library and the issue seems to be fixed. I don't believe that export libary had any impact so it mostlikely is version 8.1.1. who has fixed the isssue. I will keep an eye on it and get you posted on how it goes.

  • Files missing from Adobe Applications support folder

I now receive this message when starting Photoshop CC:  One or more files in the Adobe Applications Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing.  Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop.  After looking through some older posts on this, it looks like there is a way to just replace the missing folder.  I need help on what is the most current and best way to fix this problem.  I am running an iMac with OS X 10.8.5.  I did just uninstall CS4 from my machine this morning.  I am not sure if this plays a roll.

You said there was an error (indicating missing files and that you need to reinstall), then you say it crashes.  Well, which is it?  And if there is a crash, what does the detailed crash report say?

  • Reinstall problem.  Files missing in Adobe App. Support Folder.

When I start up Photoshop in CS2, it says that one or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder are missing and I need to run the PS installer and reinstall.  But when I try to do that from the installer CD, it won't let me click on the PS box (or any of the other boxes, for that matter) to reinstall it.  (It also shows that Version Cue is already installed, but none of the other programs are, which they are, because I can use them.)  Help, please!

Keep in mind that CS2 is not supported in Leopard.
as far as the missing files this should help. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/370710?tstart=0
there is also a CS3 clean script. Flash MX should not stop CS3 from installing.

  • Files Missing: what have I done?

Probably done something stupid here. I downloaded and installed upgrade from Photoshop CS4 to CS5. Once I had CS5 up and running I uninstalled CS4. I am now getting a message on launch telling me that "One or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing.  Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop." (despite the message CS5 actually runs ok, though it seems to run more slowly than before I uninstalled CS4). How do I address this: do I need to install CS5 again, or is it missing something from CS4 that I will need to reinstall? I was given to believe that the upgrade is really the full programme and doesn't actually 'upgrade' the older version; is this correct and if so why does uninstalling CS4 make it think some files are missing? Will I need to download CS5 again to deal with this?
Also I have noticed that CS5 is in some operations slower than CS4 despite having access to much more ram now it is 64bit, it is also quite jerky when panning across zoomed in images with my wacom tablet.
I am a photographic artist and as such not really very techie. I know my way around Photoshop, but don't know much about the tech side of these things, so that is why I am asking what are probably very naive questions.

Yes, the installer team is evidently made up of a bunch of incompetent, obviously Macromedia-oriented fools.  The engineering teams for each of the point applications have no input into the installers and they probably would like to wring the necks of the individual members of the installer teams.  A Photoshop Principal Product manager has publicly referred to the installer as "a huge embarrassment to all of us."
    Niusha10000 wrote:
…bought CS4 with a free upgrade to CS5.  Upgrading still kept the CS4 files on my computer…
However, installing an upgrade has NEVER overwritten the previous version, nor should it ever do so.  I have all versions of Photoshop from 7.0.1 through 11.0.2 installed on my machine and they coexist very nicely.  On the Mac we can even run more than one version simultaneously, just by launching the older version(s) first.
The problem is that the Uninstaller is also messed up, and when users run it, it removes components necessary to all versions, or more than one version.
Therefore, if you do not plan to keep previous versions installed on your machine, you should uninstall older versions BEFORE installing the new one.
