One print queue for each job?
We have customer jobs that last for a year or so. We have a networked HP printer. Is it possible to set up multiple print queues for this same printer, so that we can keep track of which print jobs should be charged to each customer? I can set up a new print queue connected to the printer (although with "Kind" as "Generic PostScript Printer" instead of the printer model) and then I can print to it from the server; and it shows up in the printer list on the client stations (although with a diamond next to it), but when I select it in the Print dialog on the client station I get a spinning beachball and have to force quit e.g. Word. Is this an impossibility, or is there a way to do it?

Beginning with Windows Vista (and also true for Windows 7), the Adobe PDF PostScript printer driver instance must have its Advanced=>Spool Print Documents ... setting to Start printing immediately instead of either of the other settings. The other settings will yield the behaviour that you describe.

The "Adobe PDF PostScript printer driver" would be the "Adobe Printer".
Perhaps a tweak to your installed Adobe Printer to reflect Dov's guidance will resolve the issue.

How can I create more than one printer queue for a printer
I would like to have more than one "default" setting for my printer. This is so I can use a 3rd party print utility (fingerprint) to print to a non-airprint printer from my ipad. The utility prints using the default configuration. I don't need to get fancy here. Just "draft B&W' , "normal", and "Color best quality". If I need something else, I can always email the document to my MacBook. The utility has something about a virtual printer, but all I could find about that is that it is used for PDF printing and maybe a workflow.
My technology level: Used to be a programmer, after a decade of retirement, I can't even program an applescript today.Take a look at this add-on.

Different Queues for each paper tray
Our customers wish to simply have to select a printer without selecting additional tray outputs (ok, it´s not myself , its a customer of mine, a lacy one).
Is there a way to add separate printer queues for each tray? E.g. "Printer Tray1 - white paper" and "Printer Tray2 - preprinted"...
Then the employees only have to select the one or other printer, the remaining process will be done automatically.

KlausIf you go to the CUPS web interface you can set the default paper tray/size etc for the printer:

Click the "Printers" section at the top of the page, scroll down to the printer you want to set up, then click "Configure printer" - you see all the options applicable to the printer.
I've used this to automate print routines, and it works perfectly.
Just set up multiple "virtual" printers for the same device with different settings for paper tray/size.
You will need to do this on the local machine, and have an admin password. -

Actually, everyone missed one point, when a device is priced, the cost of icloud storage space for that device is also included in it that is why they are able to give you 5gb each for each user ID, in nutshell there is nothing free coming with apple device purchase, it is paid for. What they are trying by giving only 5gb per user ID irrespective of the number of devices used is pure broadlight looting, they take money from you when you buy each device and give you nothing, This is a case of goods and services bought but not fully deliverd ie apple can be suied for discreminatory treatment towards it's users. I wonder why no one tried this yet in America where everyone sue everyone for petty things..... there is no one to take up this issue? . if tim got any love for the guys who shell out money for the devices his company makes, he should be implimenting this as priority before someone wake up from sleep and sue him.

Here's what I do. My wife and I each have an iPhone. We each have our own Apple ID. I also have another totally separate Apple ID. The ONLY thing that one has been used for was to set up Find my iPhone for our phones and my iPad. There is no reason the MobileMe setting for find my iphone can't be something completely different from your regular Apple ID UNLESS you already use MobileMe, in which case the 2 conflict in ways I don't understand as I don't subscribe to it.

Won't you have more than 10 records in your data file ? If you are going to have only 10 items then you may be able to use position() function to limit it to 3 each..

Re-map print queues for clients with powershell
We reinstalled printer queues (share printer name is the same as before) and drivers on server, 99% users can't print properly, is a way to re-map print queues for all clients with PowerShell equivalent to remove and map again?

if you want each table to be stored in separate XML file then you needn't to do anything. Each table is stored in separate file in design directory structure - foreign keys are not included, each FK is stored in separate file.
The ID of the table is used as file name. Each table has presentation in each physical model so you'll find file with same name (table ID) in each physical model.
Please elaborate on that if you want something else.

Monitor print queue for job size
Hi,
Problem: Occasionally, some print queues are found with a job that is spooling uncontrolled. Job will reach 2/3GB which will cause services to under perform and sometimes crash.
We are looking at understanding the reason why the file is spooling uncontrolled. I believe it is something to do with the fact some of the users are roaming users and when moving site, when arriving to a new site they should get the correct printers for
that site. It is happening that this is not being applied so they print to the printer on the previous site where they were, which seems to cause this behavior.... anyway.. I do not have any more logic details around this.. still exploring..
The question today is, can I set some sort of monitoring on the local print server to alert me when a job on any print queue has reached a specific size?
Or perhaps delete the job automatically if it does reach this threshold.

prnjobs.vbs to list job size and ID, then when the size is excessive the same script is used to delete the job.

When printing labels for each printed label a blank label comes out of the printer
Hello Experts
We have a CR report which is designed to prints labels for the items using a label printer. After an upgrade that we have last month the settings for this report are missing so the labels were coming out wrong.
Due to this I have had to reconfigure this report and its printing preferences and so far I have managed to make the prints fit in each label. But the problem is that if I try to print 5 copies of a label, the 5 labels come out of the printer just fine, butt after it another 5 blank labels come out of the printer too.
I have tried with all parameters in "Printing preferences", mainly in the "Material" tab but nothing works.
