One question in measures table heading of a pivot table view when using 11g

Hi experts,
I have been working on OBIEE 10g for 2 years, and lately I started developing on OBIEE 11g. It is great to discover so many new features which make reporting so much easier and look better, meanwhile, I got confused by some detail changes they have made. I was able to overcome most of the difficulties I have met with, but now there is *1* I can not figure out. Any idea or suggestion is appreciated.
In OBIEE 10g, when we develop a report using a pivot table, we put column A and B in Rows aera and column C Measures aera, the result would look like this:

But now I am using 11g, when I put these columns in the same aeres as I did in 10g, the result is surprising like this:
/ / BLANK / / C / /
/ / A / / B / / blank //

//VA1/|/VB1 // VC1//
It looks weird that it should put Rows labels and Measure labels in different lines and create blank labels, and barely makes any sense. I am OK with the blank above the Row labels, but not with the blank below the measure label. A blank label that separates a label and its value is not what I want.
Can anyone help me to make the pivot table look the same as it does in 10g? Or at least remove the blank label below the Measure label?

Remove column heading in a pivot table without columns

I have a pivot table which only has rows and measures. But It doesn’t have any column.

How could I remove that?
Column properties – labels of column are already disabled.

I'm unable to view that file also...
Just curious, if you don't have anything in the column section of the pivot, why not just use a table?
If this is going onto a dashboard the quick and dirty approach is just to make a small CSS change, just throw something like the following into a text object.

Using Measures in Rows Section of Pivot table view

Hi,
i have a report with 6 columns, out of which A, B are dimensional and C,D,E,F are Fact columns(measures).
My requirement is to take Column A and Columns C,D,E in Rows section of Pivot table view with column F measure in Measures setion and column B in Columns Section.
I created the Pivot view as desired but the measure columns placed in Rows Section are not displaying the correct results
Can someone provide ur inputs on this.

For Pivot Table view Measures should be in Measures section only, then only those columns will show correct result

How to see Design View when using ?php require("header.htm"); ?

I'm new to DW CS4 and have what's probably a simple question, but I can't figure it out. I have a basic html website in which I'm using php require to call header.htm and footer.htm files. In CS4, when I open any page in the Design or Split view, it displays the header.htm file. The only way I have been able to view the content of the page is to delete the php require code in Code View. I then edit the page after which I have to paste the require code for the header.htm file back in before saving.
Is there an easy fix for this?

Thanks for your response. All of my pages are php pages in which I use the php require command to display a header and footer. In CS4, when I open any page from my site in Design or Split view, all I can see is the header.htm file. I cannot see any of the content from that particular page. I have to go into code view and delete the <?php require("header.htm"); ?> from the code. The I can view and edit that page's content after which I have to paste the <?php require("header.htm"); ?> command back in and load the saved file to the server. A royal pain in the butt.

When I have more than one tab open, if I click on a picture to view, when the window opens to view the photo, firefox crashes. I also notice while looking at a web page, the pinned tabs to the left of the bar are constantly reloading for some reason.

Question on Measuring Lift Force for MAV Ornithopter for Student Project using Load Cell

Hey everyone!
I am new to these forums so bare with me, please. I am part of a senior design student group working on making a micro aerial vehicle ornithopter (generates lift by flapping its wings) similar to this Design.
We are using this load cell connected to an AD620 Op-Amp circuit that basically has two input wires from the load cell coming into the op-amp with a gain of 100 (there is an Rg resistor with 500 ohms in the circuit). The load cell and op-amp circuit are both powered correctly with 10 V and +-15 V, respectively. There are two output wires coming out of the circuit. One comes out of the 6th terminal of the op-amp, and one is connected to ground. If we turn on everything and test the output of the circuit with a multimeter there is little if no fluctuation in the output voltage, which is about .25 V with zero load. If we add precise weights and form a linear graph of the output voltage vs. weight, we can find that there is about .0045 volts/gram relationship.
Here comes the part we we are having trouble. It seems as though the circuit it working correctly, but when we try and hook it up to our USB-6221 DAQ Board though the ai0 (or any analog input) and confirm a LabVIEW program to read the output, we get a ton of noise along with a weird looking graph.

Basically, I would have though we could get a straight line that continuely increases or decreases depending on the load on the load cell. Why would it graph a ton of vertical lines? I would think it would be just one data point per time value?

The properties of the DAQ Assistant VI is as follows:
input range: -10 to 10 v
RSE terminal configuration
acquisition mode: n samples and not sure how many samples we want to read or how fast. we had 1k hz and 100 samples and the image above is basically what we got it the program runs continuously.
I don't know what else I can tell you, except that if anyone helps me you would be like a godsend to our group. It would be very much appreciated

As I am unable to look at youor images (the corporate filter here is blocking the url) I can't see what you are describing. I will say that a multimeter will not show fast transitions that will show up in a LabVIEW/DAQ application, so using a meter usually doesn't tell you that much about signal "cleanness". How long are the wires from the op amp/load cell to the DAQ? How long are the wires, and what type (shielded, twisted pairs, untwisted pairs, etc.) from the load cell to the op amp. The output levels of the load cell are usually quite low, so the possibility of also picking up "environmental" electrical noise is very high, and this will be amplified as well. Since the output of the op amp is higher, the noise introduced between it and the input to the DAQ is less of an issue, but there as well. So making sure that signal wires are properly shielded and grounded is important, and there are long papers describing this for low level analog signals. Since the load cells desired output will probably vary relatively slowly (a few Hz) it may also be helpful to put a simple low pass filter before the DAQ.

Measures and dates in a pivot table

I have a report that breaks out multiple metrics by quarter over a two year period. My issue arises when I add specific additional metrics to the report, the year and quarterly breakout gets thrown off. So instead of seeeing Qtrs 1-4 for lastyear and Qtrs 1 & 2 for this year, I now get only Qtrs 2, 3 & 4 for last year and 1 for this year. This new result set does not match up to any of the any of the qtrs on the orignal buckets before I added the additional metrics. I have tried setting the new metrics to "Server Determined" on the report end and viewing the report in a table format. I still get the same issue. Any help is appreciated?

It turns out that within the business model I needed to leverage physical source columns versus logical columns when building the new metric

Mir wurde bisher XL-Reporter, Coresuite und Crystal genannt.
Gibt es Wege und auch Erfahrungen, Daten per MS-Access oder MS-Excel über Pivot "zu holen" und aufzubereiten.
Ich habe bereits einen Beitrag hier im Forum diesbezüglich gefunden, jedoch ist der recht ungenau.
Hier ist leider nicht die Vorgehensweise beschrieben, welche Datenquelle und Werkzeuge zu nutzen sind.
Kannn jemand weiterhelfen ?

Hallo Markus,
prinzipiell gibt es verschiedene Wege. Einer ist via Addons - wir selbst nutzen Coresuite -.
Die anderen Wege sind :
1. Du erstellst dir eine Abfrage und exportierst dir anschließend die Daten via Excel Button in eine Tab Datei. Auf dauer recht mühsam wie ich finde.
2. Du benutzt ODBC um in Office Produkte externe Datenquelle - hier die SAP DB - einzubinden. Dazu solltest du am SQL Server einen neuen Benutzer mit ausschließlichem Lesezugriff auf die SAP DB erstellen. Schreibender Zugriff grade durch Programme wie Access ist tödlich.
Anschließend erstellt du unter Systemsteuerung - ODBC Datenquelle eine neue Verbindung zur SQL Datenbank mit Hilfe deines Read only Benutzers. Diese Verbindung kannst du anschließend in Excel unter Extras - Externe Datenquellen benutzen und Tabellen aus der SAP DB auslesen und zb in Pivot einbetten.

MX432 All-in-one printer: left side of printed subject is being cut off when using 'normal' layout.

Because 'normal' and 'fit to page' layouts cut off left side of printed material I'm using 'borderless' layout but that doesn't give me the paper size option I need. Any hints on how to save the left side of paper and how to change paper size in borderless layout. Any hints in print preview wherein I can print just 'one or two' of multiple pages without having to return to the set-up page?

You can set it so that "Fit to Page" printing is the default setting. To do this, use the following steps:
1. Click Start.
2. Click Control Panel.
3. Click Printers and other Hardware.
4. Click Printers and Faxes.
5. Right click the PIXMA MX432 and click Printing Preferences.
6. Click the Page Setup Tab.
7. Select Fit to Page under Page Layout, then press OK.
This should now be the default setting for all programs.

Question about transfering files between windows OS and mac OS when using bootcamp

I'm thinking about buying the latest macbook pro, however, many of the statistical programs I use are only compatible with windows OS. I am aware of fusion and parallels, but I was advised to use bootcamp to maximize the performance of both the statistical programs AND the macbook itself. When using bootcamp, if I were to create a word document for my statistical output in the windows 7 partition, would I be able to access it directly from the hard drive in the mac OS partition using windows for mac? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I run both Windows and OS X on my Mac. I would never ever want the Windows partition to have write access to my OS X partition. Be cautious when considering this ability. I would much prefer sharing files by a third drive, be it a flash drive, and external HDD, NAS, or an SD card.

OBIEE: Pivot table chart is not proper when GOURL is on Measure Column

Hi All,
I a facing an issue with Pivot table chart drill.
Pivot Table columns:
Row description column in row section.
Column description (Periods) in column section and
A Number format amount column in Measure Section (In BMM it is not defined as a measure column).
GOURL written on the Measure column to enable the drill in Pivot table data.
When I click on chart the pivoted reasults Graph: Vertical Bar, Type: Default, Style: Rectangle.
It shows the row description in X axis but the amount is not shown properly (it just shows 1,2,3..numbers on Y axis instead of the amounts which are in lakhs) on Y axis and alos there is not vertical bars showing up.
Any help in this regard is very helpfull.
