One ruler for 3 page spread in CS 5.5

I'm missing something in CS 5.5 that I had in CS 5. Formerly, when I created three pages and set them next to one another, each had it's own ruler at the top, that is to say, the scale began at zero for each page, even though they were joined together. In CS 5.5 there is one iule for the whole 3 page spread. Is there a setting adjustment I need to make?

You haven't mentioned the OS, therefore
For Windows
Edit-->Preferences-->Units and Increment , On the top under ruler unit settings , change the "Origin" to "Page".
For Mac
Indesign-->Preferences-->Units and Increment , On the top under ruler unit settings , change the "Origin" to "Page".

  • How do I use one layer for multiple pages?

I've been using Photoshop to create a series of web pages. I have about 20 such pages right now.
Unfortunately, I need to change the navigation menu that is found on all 20 pages.
To make these changes, do I need to change 20 different files? Or is there a way to link one layer group to multiple PSD files so that editing it once results in it changing on all 20 pages?
    Thanks,
    C

You'll have to make some sort of change to each document, but it should only take a few minutes when there's only 20 of them. You edit the group in one, then for each of the others, simply duplicate or drag the edited group into it and delete the old group.
There is also the option of structuring your workflow with Smart Objects which can be refreshed in each document with a common document containing only the menu group. For linking of Smart Object content, there is a third party plug-in but I don't know whether it is reliable.

  • In table view, how to add one button for selecting page?

    Hi Experts,
In the OBIEE 11.1.1.6, we have one uncommon requirement that customers want to randomly select actual page to view expected data in table view.
    For example:
We make use of some columns to create one report in table view, and set 'Rows per Page' equal to '5',
if this report contains 60 rows, it will have 12 pages, so customers want to select sepcial page number to view the some data. Is it possible to implement this requirement? Maybe we should write JS code.
Note: Below table view, it has four buttons: First Row, Previous Row, Next Row and Display (500) rows in per page. So we want to add one button to select per page.
We look at orgnial codes in WebBrowse, but do not know the following codes derive from which JS file.
Could you please tell me how to find this file?
    <td class="TapeDeckCell"><img class="TapeDeckImage" onclick="" onkeypress="" src="res/s_blafp/viewui/pivot/first_dis.png" title="" alt="" ><img class="TapeDeckImage" onclick="" onkeypress="" src="res/s_blafp/viewui/pivot/previous_dis.png" title="" alt="" ><img class="TapeDeckImageEna" onclick="PTRowScroll('saw_5083_b','5','5', event)" onkeypress="PTRowScroll('saw_5083_b','5','5', event)" src="res/s_blafp/viewui/pivot/next_ena.png" tabIndex="0" onmouseover="PTTD(event, 'res/s_blafp/viewui/pivot/next_ovr.png');" onmouseout="PTTDO(event)" onmousedown="PTTD(event, 'res/s_blafp/viewui/pivot/next_dwn.png');" title="Next 5 Rows" alt="Next 5 Rows" ><img class="TapeDeckImageEna" onclick="*PTRowScroll*('saw_5083_b','-1)', event)" onkeypress="PTRowScroll('saw_5083_b','-1)', event)" src="res/s_blafp/viewui/pivot/showallrows_ena.png" tabIndex="0" onmouseover="PTTD(event, 'res/s_blafp/viewui/pivot/showallrows_ovr.png');" onmouseout="PTTDO(event)" onmousedown="PTTD(event, 'res/s_blafp/viewui/pivot/showallrows_dwn.png');" title="Display maximum (500) rows per page" alt="Display maximum (500) rows per page" > <Span class="TapeDeckRecords">Rows 1 - 5</Span></td>

    Hi Kobe,
    Thanks for listening me.
I agree 11g have some issues unlike 10g. I've tried the same by creating a measure rcount(1) and name it as Page in RPD. I just pulled column Page in pivot table section 'Pivot Table Prompts' it is working but this may not answer your requirements.
I would suggest to use the column in Prompt and go by between operator to allow user to select the rows between.
In the report make Page as prompted.
If you are okay with this can look forward to tweak it further, like values in the prompt multiple of 5 or 10s some thing like that.
let me know updates on the same.

  • Double page spread - but only using 1 and a half pages

Hi there smart people who use Aperture.
I'd like to create a double page spread in an Aperture book where the image only goes half way across the second page. Is this possible? I can't seem to enlarge an image so it crosses onto the second page, and I can't seem to reduce the size of an image that's inserted into a double page spread. Hope that makes sense and someone can help.
    Thanks,
    gtmonkey

Hi again RB - thanks again for helping.
I can't seem to open your page today, but I was able to see it last night and confirm that you can do what I'm trying to do.....lucky guy!
    I'm still using Aperture 2.1 - maybe that's why I can't resize those pages?
However, I have discovered that if I drop a new image frame over the old one on the double page spread, I can play with that as much as I want. I can then delete the old image frame (the one that wouldn't resize) and get the result I want. That should do the trick.
Thanks again for your help though....

  • Crawl Rule for Crawling Specific Page across all the site collection under one content source

I have a MOSS 2007 web Application added to SharePoint 2010 Search Service Application Content Source, which is having 50+ Site Collections which follows same template. Every Site collection having one CustomPages Library and CustomPage.aspx.
If search Service would like to crawl only CustomPage.aspx from all the site collection under the web application, what would be the Path or Regular expression while creating the Crawl Rule.
i have given the path as  http://webapplication/sites/*/CustomPages/CustomPage.aspx, but this is not working. Can anyone help me out with correct path or regular expression in this case.
    Thanks..

To crawl that page you'd also need to crawl the pages beneath it, otherwise SharePoint will never get to the page to check if it matches a rule. I assume you have some other rules that are blocking the rest of the content of the site?
Try adding another rule that allows http://webapplication/sites/* then have your include rule beneath that and another exclude rule for
http://webapplication/sites/*/* beneath that. That should eliminate nearly all the other content and provide you with your custompage.aspx results.

  • Two-page spread for non-Apple printed book

This is probably going to sound complicated:
I'm in a small program, and we want to create a yearbook, which we decided to do ourselves since there's so few of us. The book will have pages of events and groups, of course, but also "profile pages" where photos focused on a single person are included.
Two of the people in the program are married to each other. Naturally, I want their pages to be side-by-side. More than that, though, I want to have a picture right in the middle of their two pages that I got from their wedding. In the picture, they have their arms linked, so the idea is that the gutter of the book will separate the photo with the man on the left (and his "profile page" will then go on the left), and the woman on the right (with her profile page).
I hope that makes sense so far.
The question is, how do I ensure I lose as little as possible in the gutter if I'm printing with a service other than Apple? Apple's just a bit too expensive for over a dozen books, so I'm looking at mostly Inkubook or Viovio. I've already set up a custom book in Aperture with the page sizes set to 8.7" x 11.2" (to account for 0.1" trim) and an inside margin of 0.25" (for the gutter).
Viovio has a suggestion on their website that images overlapping two pages should have a portion duplicated on either page, with the size of that duplication being equal to the size of the gutter (so the right image duplicates 0.25" of the photo on the left and the left duplicates 0.25" of the photo on the right).
Does that sound like it will work? And then, should I have the same photo on both pages with a duplicated area of 0.5" (the two gutters) or 0.7" (gutters plus trims)? To that end, how do you even measure distances in Aperture - I don't seem to be able to find a ruler of any kind, which makes putting equal spaces between photos and borders on pages very hard as well.
If that doesn't make sense, which I know it may not, let me know and I'll try to clear it up...

Two page spreads are tricky and will depend on how the binding is done by the third party printer. If you look closely at the PDF file created by Aperture for books, you'll notice that the individual pages of a two page spread do not absolutely bisect the image you've aligned across the two pages. Rather, the inside binding-side edges will give you a little extra bleed, so that in binding with the book pages spread open, you'll see one continuous image without white space.
I can't say for certain because I've not used a printer other than Apple, but I would imagine that there is variance from printer to printer w/respect to this center margin.
Of course, I could be entirely wrong.

  • How can i print a one page spread sheet without having it spread over several sheets of paper none of which is complete?

I have an iMac less than 1 year old with lion o/s and numbers. i have been spoiled in the printing of spread sheets on PC's. I find it impossible to print only 1 page when printing a single page spread sheet. The result is my spread sheet spread over several sheets of paper with no usable spread sheet printed. Can anyone help this 86 year old man who has been to the Apple Store twice to learn this but I still have trouble. Thanks in advance for your help. jim

    Jim,
    Take heart.  We can help.
First turn on page view so you can see how the content of your sheet fits on the page(s).  A Numbers document contains sheets (listed on the left) which in turn contain tables, charts, text, and graphics.  Select the sheet you want to print on the left, then enable page view by selecting the menu item:
    "View > Show Print View":
Now you should see your content and how it fits on one, or more, pages.  If thie content is too big for one page use the controls and the bottom left of the window to expose the sheet controls:
Here a table is too big to fit on one page:
slide the "Content Scale" slider so the content fits:

  • Double page spread for photobooks

    Hi folks,
anyone know if its possible to create a photobook (soft cover style) with one photo as a double page spread?

That was done by a user in iPhoto 6 very successfully. Do a search in the iPhoto 6 book and print ordering forum. He posted screenshots of the result and they were pretty impressive.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Is it possible to join two single pages in a pdf into one double page spread?

Is it possible to take two single pages from separate pdf documents and combine them as one double page spread?
If it is possible could someone describe how it is done please?

The InDesign method Steve mentions is the best option. You can also place it in Illustrator as an import but you'll need to have the same fonts as the PDF file. This option will allow you to edit the files, pending what objects are editable. It will have a few quirks, and the text lines might be separate objects.
I'd go InDesign, but just in case you don't have ID, you can use Illustrator, but be prepared for a little work.

  • Seperating 2-page spreads for printing?

I recently have had trouble with printing my booklets.
I am using 11x17 documents and wish to seperate 2 page spreads for printing?
When i currently print it prints the cover page, page 1, seperate but combines the other spreads, with 2 pages per actual printed page.
I seperate the files one by one for printing currently but i want t0 know if i have to do that, because it wastes valuable time.
Is it a problem with the way i am exporting the file?
Please give me your advice as I am open to other ideas to reaching my main goal.

When you see two pages side-by-side in an InDesign file which is set up with facing pages, that's just how it looks on the screen. If none of the items on your pages span across both pages of a spread, you can output a multi-page PDF, and each page will be independent. In fact, you could have something that crosses the spine on a spread and still output to single pages, but that's not really the point. The double-page part they are talking about is the ability for you to output (for example) pages 2 and 3, which are side-by-side, as a single page that is twice as wide as a normal single page. They also don't want 32 different one-page PDFs for a 32-page book. Neither of these will be a problem if you export your PDF normally. If you see facing pages in the actual PDF, that may be (probably is) just a viewing option. All of the pages will be singles.
The point I want to make is that you don't have to override the facing pages to make a multi-page PDF.

  • Fbl5n: The printer provides me only one customer items for each page...

    Hi all,
launching t.code FBL5N, and printing the repost list, the printer provides me only one customer items for each page...
I'd like obtaining more customer items for each page...
    What to do?
    Thanks

    Hi Umberto..
Thats how the standard report works..
To meet your requirement, you would probably need to look at another standard report.
In case you need further clarification, please feel free to write to me..

  • How do I spread one image across 2 pages?

How do I spread one image across 2 pages?

You can't with a single image, but you can "fake" it. Duplicate the image & then line up the two halves. It's easier if you are viewing facing pages two-up.

    Hi, Tom.
FYI: You've not stated which of your listed Macs is having the problem. However, the following may help in any case:
    1. Did you install Front Row using the Front Row hack on a Mac that did not ship from the factory with Front Row installed? If so, See my "Uninstalling the Front Row hack" FAQ. This has been known to cause a variety of problems, including the menu bar (Clock, Spotlight) issues you noted.
    2. If you did not install the Front Row Hack, an incompatible or corrupted Startup or Login Item may be partly to blame for the problems with the menu bar. My "Troubleshooting Startup and Login Items" FAQ can help you pin that down if such an item is causing the problem.
    3. As a general check, run the procedure specified in my "Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption" FAQ. Perform the steps therein in the order specified.

  • EBS - Electronic Bank Statement Multiple Posting Rule for One External Transaction Type NTRF

    hello SAP Gurus,
I'm configuring EBS - Electronic Bank Statement. My requirement is for Bank External Transaction Type NTRF <for Incoming Payment> I want to assign 2 posting rules for Posting Area 2 that is Sub-Ledger posting viz. <1> For the payments received from Customer which should clear the Customer Open item since it is bill to bill exactly matching the open line item and <2> For the payments which should not clear the Customer Open item since i know that they are not bill to bill and only partial against the original line item
Is this possible? if yes then how?
Currently, SAP allows only one assignment like one external transaction type NTRF => one Posting Rule <either clear the sub-ledger-system picks FB05 or just post on Sub-ledger so that not to clear - system uses FB01 >
    Journal for Posting Area 2:
    Bank Clearing Account Dr
To Customer Account Cr  <either set this to clear with original invoice / or just post on customer so as to clear/handle it manually later on once paid fully>
So, what is the solution; how can i differentiate my incoming whether fully payment or partial payment; since bank statement always tag it to external transaction type NTRF always for any incoming payments !
    regards,
    `raj.

    Hi,
You cannot create separate rule with sub ledger postings while executing electronic bank reconciliation. The reason is your bill to bill transfers should posted to bank sub ledger account first and then you can write a BDC to clear sub ledger account.Otherwise use F.13 to clear the sub ledger account.

  • IBooks two page spread for children's picture ebooks

    Hi,
I am creating a children's ebook for iBooks and I'd like to get the following result (taken from Peppa Pig: Tiny Creatures, published on iTunes for iBooks):
The final picture ebook should have a gutter/seam in the center, 2 page spread and pages that stack when flipped.
I saw in this post that iBooks Author can't do that and we should use use Pages instead, exporting the book as an ePub to iTunes.
But how can I do this in practice with Pages? I see that Pages doesn't export the file to ePub if certain layout features are enabled and that we should follow a strict procedure to create an ePub with Pages, as described in the "ePub Best Practices".
Now, if I follow the ePub Best Practices template, I come out with a pretty dull design, good only for novels or similar.
In particular, how can I spread a picture across two pages in Pages and get that rendered by iBooks?
For example, if I want a picture to spread across 2 pages (as shown in the picture above), do I need to place the image in a "single" landscape page in Pages, and that will be spread across 2 pages when viewed in iBooks? Or should I choose a spread layout in Pages and that will be correctly picked up by iBooks, which will also add the seam effect in the middle of the book?
    Thanks.

This isn't something you need to pull a lever to do in Pages. It is part of the default navigation in iBooks when a standard epub is displayed.
As for that 'spread' image, I suspect it is actually two...left and right.
Suggest you move to the Pages forums for details...?
