One solution for Safari 3.2 crashing if you don't have any 3rd party apps
So Safari 3.2 was crashing like crazy for me and i tried everything suggested on these forums without success. I never had any 3rd party "hacks" installed like PithHelmet that are known to cause the issue. I remembered i had a proxy server setup to access journals from my school library at home a while back. Tried disabling that and now safari 3.2 has been running without crashing for 2 days.
Just putting it out there for those of you still having crashing issues. I'm sure it's not the cure-all, but maybe some of you still have a proxy enabled. I hope apple fixes this particular issue eventually, because i need to use the proxy.

I guess that is the other side of the analysis. I am similarly not really aware of the way that the proxy works -- I guess it confirms data and settings -- and with the PAC file, these are changed from time to time. I guess, if it is working in FF and not Safari, you might try a few things like turning off then on the proxy settings; creating another Location; resetting Safari (keep that one for later); trashing the relevant preference files; asking your sysadmin; and sending feedback to Apple, with the PAC file location.

Can't open any 3rd party apps - they crash on startup
I've been an iPhone owner since the first model (I have iPhone 4 now), and I've never seen anything like this.
Last night my iPhone ran out of charge. This morning, when I plugged it in it had to charge for a few minutes before it would turn on. Once it turned on, it said "waiting for activation: this may take a while". I thought this was strange, because my phone is already activated. I'm in an area with no reception, though, so maybe that was the issue.
Once the phone turned on, I tried to open some of my apps. But none of the 3rd party apps would open! When I tap them they appear to open but they shut down / crash right away. Strangely, however, all of the Apple apps that come with the phone will open without a problem (Maps, Mail, Safari, iCal, etc.).
I tried a hard reset but that didn't help. I'm away from home so I can't do an erase and store, and I really need access to some of the data in those apps.
Any ideas?I did the same this week. I did a sync and now I can't access any of my apps. They appear to open then shut right back down. Have tried to resync, update and about anything else that may fix and nothing. Paying an aweful lot of money just for texting and phone usage. Anyone know how to take care of this issue? I have a 3G phone and been using it for a year without this problem

if you don't have pic's on your I phone and you sign up for i cloud, how do you know if your signed up,? I can't tell if it worked.

I've been having the same probs as everyone else but i just did this and its sorted the prob. im pretty ******** at sorting this kind of stuff but this is really simple.

had same problem with 7.3.
Temp fix that seems to work and kept all data and dates, even new podcasts downloaded with 7.3.
- Leave iTunes open if open.
- Move User/Library/Music/iTunes Folder (it has 2 library files+ music data and possibly others in it) to Desktop
- Rename it something else like "was iTunes".
- Move iTunes.app (7.3 version) from the Applicatison Folder separeately to the Desktop
- Download iTunes 7.2 from
http://oldapps.com/downloadiTunesmac.php as previously noted in this thread.
- Install 7.2 as an upgrade onto the hard drive. It will find the right places.
- It will ask you to close iTunes, it is then OK to do so.
- Do NOT uninstall 7.3.
-After install iTunes 7.2 will then be in your Applications folder. Don't open app yet.
-Go to User/Music folder and look in it. it should not have iTunes, or if there should be empty.
-Get the "was iTunes" folder from the Desktop and put back into User/Music/
-Rename it iTunes before or after moving it back.
-Now iTunes 7.2 shoud run just as before the 7.3 upgrade, and all file info should be there.
This provides a temporary fix without data loss until Apple fixes 7.3.Fix the problem with minimal data loss and no need to revert to an earlier version.
There was a post about video Podcast creating some of the problems. but did not correct for everyone.
Some non-Videopodcasts actually have video or enhanced content that is acting the same as the video podcasts.
This will not exactly duplicate the Podcasts. It will re-download episodes for each podcast you subscribe to.
• Create a new folder on your desktop
• Open Itunes 7.3
• Open Podcasts
• Select all and drag to new folder on desktop
• Delete Podcast from iTunes
• If you have Podcast in your Audiobooks (not sure why but I do) repeat the process. for Audiobooks
• Quit iTunes
• Launch iTunes - You should not get the (-50) error. and your Podcast folder should be empty
• Drag Podcasts from new Desktop folder back to Podcast in iTunes.
• Restart iTunes -
I need to know if this is correct, because two days ago pages ask me for an update, buy when i go to the App Store there is nothing to update, its a bug or something, anyone have the same problem?
There is a Pages v5.5.1 update available in the OS X App Store under Updates. Unless, you have System Preferences > App Store configured to automatically install Updates, it may be waiting for you to manually update it.
If you have Pages ’09 open (/Applications/iWork '09) and double-click a document owned by Pages v5.5.(1), Pages ’09 will throw a dialog about needing a newer version of Pages and go download one from the App Store. They could have made that dialog less confusing, by simply stating that Pages ’09 cannot open the incompatible Pages v5.5(.1) document. -
i tryed downloading the package and installing it off the usb port as a download and the file crashed
Except for the Telechips TCC88xx processor series, all of the others are not ARMv7 type of cpu's but say ARMv6 or ARMv5. http://www.telechips.com/eng/Product/Product.asp
It is more of a matter of whether the device has the appropriate hardware (and 512+ MB RAM) versus making mobile Firefox for specific devices, especially if they do not have a ARMv7 type of cpu. -

If you need to buy apps a credit card or other form of payment is required. As far as I know debit cards are no longer accepted.

I cannot install the Firefox 3.6.12 update because lack of authority. There are three user accounts in the computer. What object(s) can it be that interfere with the update?
If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

This problem began when I typed in an address http www etc., making one mistake in the address. I corrected it and then tried to copy the address because it was long (I wanted to be able to acces it another time), and that's when the trouble starrted. I just copt documents to get a new one because it's quicker, but it is unorthodox, I know. Since then whenever I copy a document i cannot open it, and it often puts a gobledegook ending to the document name. I've started emailing texts to myself so as to keep them, but I MUST be able to use documents normally. I hava a MacBook Pro, using OS Mountain Lion 10.8.5. I don't like it. It's fairly new, and has messed up my system of documents : the size is alll wrong and the tabulations are worse than ever. I use text edit because I wanted to use Macdictate because I am handicapped (arthritis and firbomyalgia) but I have never been able to get it to work. Since I changed OS I cannot use Text edit properly any more. Please help me. I think it must be a bug that came through when I was putting this address in four days ago. I went to the site once I'd corrected the address and it was perfectly normal. I shall ring them today and ask them if this has happened to anyone else. I live in France. Thank you for your advice. Because I am handicapped and I do not dirve, it is very difficult to get to a Mac store. I deleted Mac cloud documents because I don't want to use it and I thought it might solve the problem, but it didn"t.
Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):

If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:

Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.

3rd party apps keep crashing in Mountain lion
I installed Mountain lion yesterday everything looked ok until I tried runnig Skype, it crashed immediately. I tried running other 3rd party apps with same result. Steam, MS Word, Vuze everything crashes, even apps I downloaded fom Mac app store. Does anyone else have this problem?
I've been having a similar issue and surprisingly the app Boom was part of the problem. Seemed to cause audio issues as well as start-up problems for iTunes. I also had to delete all of my automatic login items as they would become non-responsive after login and cause the entire system to become sluggish. So far things are running smoothly again although my audio keeps wanting to switch to Airplay all on it's own, even when the Apple TV is unavailable. I haven't tried putting back the login items yet.
OS X login item issues have been around for a long time so although the 3 party apps may be the main culprits there might also be a connection regarding these long standing login problems. -

2. Further, i can not sms from contacts screen. There is no option to sms , when i select a contact. I have to go to SMS and there type contact name , how can i enable this?
3. If i receive a call and i want to send sms to the person, i can not tap on called no and choose and option to sms him. I have to copy that number, go to SMS app and use that no to sms. If i am in a meeting , it is long process and kill focus in meeting. In android, there is one swipe to reject call and send an sms that i am in meeting. Can we achieve this basic features in Q10..I can forward a SMS as an email on my Q10.
open the SMS and hold down on the text, this opens a side menu with the "share" icon on it (like a Y),
Then you can select how you want to share, eg SMS, Email BBM etc.

I was in full screen mode and now that I have exited, the main toolbar for Safari is gone. So please don't say go to View. Each time I click off of safari to the desktop, it shows me the Finder Toolbar. I have opened and closed Safari many many times.
No no, if you read what I said, it would be that each individual display would be customizable to the user. The way you have it, it sounds like your second display will be dedicated to scrolling through fullscreen apps not allowing you to do it on the home screen. This is silly because with my concept, you could do that, by dragging apps to fullscreen in your second display, but if you want you could tell another display to scroll through fullscreen apps (independently) if you wanted. Each display will have it's own mission control with it's own set of desktops. I also can see how some people would still want them linked together, so this could just be a little check box made in mission control prefs to "link" or "unlink" desktops with link checked by default.
With your solution you're limited to your setup. but what if the person has three or four displays? Well then your solution would limit them to one dedicated display that scrolls through fullscreen apps where mine lets a person customize their desktops depending on their preference and setup.
further example: if you have safari, address book and mail in one display, you could still have ichat, PS and Illustrator in your second, and a text editor, FTP Client and iTunes in your third. Then you would mix and match these apps but it would promote the use of mulitple displays as well as benefit people with three or more, which thunderbolt, Cinema Display and Pro computers support. -
