One thumbnail missing from a photo album on iPad 2

Hi,
I have an iPad2 (iOS5) and have a few photo albums on it. In one album, while the actual photo is there and visible, the thumbnail is missing. In its place is a gray box with a ? in it. Tap on that and the full image appears. Film strip also has the box with the ?. I'd like to get the thumbnail back. I've tried rebooting but that did nothing. Ideas? thanks!

You can only copy photos into albums that you've created directly on the iPad. If the albums were synced from your computer then the only way to add photos to them is to copy them into the folders on your computer and re-sync them - you can't add photos to synced albums directly on the iPad

There is a limit on the number of photos that you can send in one email from the photos app, but I thought it was five. In any event, you know that you can send mutiple photos from the mail app itself and you can send more than 5.
When you are typing an email - Tap and hold down in the body of the message area and select "Insert Photo or Video" from the black pop up options bar. Select the photos that you want to include from the photos app window that appears. Then hit return on the keyboard and start the process all over again.
You can insert photos, type text, enter more photos .... any way that you would like to do it.

Open the file, parse it, populate an ArrayCollection or XMLListCollection, and make the collection the DataGrid dataProvider:

Edit option missing from SOME photos

Several of my iPhone pictures on the camera roll do NOT have the edit option available. Most of them do, but several do not. I noticed that the pictures that do not have the edit option anymore are photos that I have already edited at least once in the past. Any idea why the edit option is all of a sudden missing from those photos, but is not missing from others?

Apple, please may you put the ability to upload photos from your photo album directly to Facebook in the iOS5.0.2 update?

Import from Corel Photo Album 6

I'd like to import a library of a few thousand photos from Corel Photo Album 6 into iPhoto '08. The photos in Photo Album include a Picture Title which is stored in the Photo Album database, not in the photo file and is different from the File Name.
Is there a way to import the photos and the Titles into iPhoto '08?

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Photostream when enabled will only add photos from the camera roll that were taken post photostream activation. (Photostream does not currently share video)
Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.

Restoring from iTunes backup of my 4s onto my new 5s is missing all my photo albums

My laptop is being repaired and therefore I have nothing from my iTunes library such as photo albums, music etc, except what is currently on my iPhone 4s. I may or may not be able to recover what is on my old laptop and won't know for several more weeks.
Meanwhile, I asked Apple prior to purchasing my 5s if I would be able to transfer EVERYTHING that is currently on my 4s, into it, I was told "absolutely".
So yesterday I used my friends outdated but functional laptop to download the newest iTunes and proceeded to backup my 4s. Then I restored from that backup onto my new 5s. On the first attempt the 5s was missing all photo albums (only had camera roll and videos) as well as 75% of my apps and what seemed like my entire music library! however upon closer inspection it seems to have had all of the music listed but not on the iPhone! each song had a little cloud with a downward arrow protruding from it. Not sure what that is about because the majority of my music is from discs and downloads that I manually added to my iTunes library, not from purchases made in the iTunes Store. Regardless, it does seem I have those songs available so this isn't the problem. The missing photo albums and apps is the issue. So I attempted a second restore of the same backup file. This time the apps seemed to have all come through but still no photo albums. I am now underway on my third attempt in the hopes that they will materialize the same way the missing apps did on round two. I will know in two hours when it finishes but I am not optimistic.
Can anyone help me sort this out?

Actually it only restored about 1000 of 4000 songs, so 3000 songs missing as well. And the 3rd attempt didn't yield any more songs or photo albums.

Thumbnails missing from a keepsake

I have created two keepsakes from the same event as I wish to create two books of a particular trip. Each keepsake and the event show 1803 photos. However, on one of the keepsakes, the first as it happens, a number of thumbnails are missing (5 consecutive photos that I know about, but I haven't checked all 18903 photos in each keepsake so there may be others. However, those specific 5 thumbnails are displayed in the second keepsake). I am using an up-to-date version of iPhoto '09 (8.1.2) on an intel iMac under OS X 10.6.8.
Apart from starting a new keepsake and re-making it (and I am up to 100 pages, so would like to avoid this if possible), is there any way of either correcting the problem (that is, making the thumbnails appear) or adding them to the existing keepsake?

This is a self-answer.
After much experimenting, I have found that if I duplicate the photos in the Photos Library, then drag both the originals and the duplicate to the keepsake, then the duplicates appear (and are usable) at the end of the list of thumbnails. Not perfect, perhaps, but it works.

After upgrading to the iphone4, I restored from my most recent 3G back up, but most (not all) of the thumbnails in the photo library of the Photos app are just blank white squares
When you click on the white square a picture shows up, but this makes browsing almost impossible.
I tried restoring, and unselecting and reselecting in itunes and cannot get a majority of the thumbnails to show. the photos that do not show are random.

If this was happing on your 3G and you upgraded your phone by restoring it from the backup of your 3G, it is also possible that your new phone may have inherited this problem from your old one (i.e., the problem may have been contained in the backup you restored from). I'm not sure what else to suggest you try on your computer and I'm not sure that's the problem. It may very well be something corrupt on your phone. The basic troubleshooting steps (in escalating order) are Reset, Restore, Restore as New. To reset your phone hold the on/off and home buttons until you see the Apple logo (ignoring the off slider that appears first), and release. To restore your phone follow this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414, backing up your phone at step 6, and restoring from that backup at the end of the process, followed by syncing with iTunes. If that fails you will have to save as much of your data as possible, and restore it as new by following this process again but at the end choosing to set it up as a new iPhone. If the problem persists after restoring as new you probably have a hardware problem and will have to have Apple take a look at it.

Larger Pictures from iWeb photo album

I have created a photo album through iweb but when I click on the photos I have a bar with all the photos one next to the other and the one that I chose is larger below. I need to have the chosen picture in a larger scale as the default is quite small for my taste.
Is there a way through iweb to do this??

I have a new iPhone, same phone (4s) & I'm trying to transfer everything using iCloud, but some of my pictures are in my photo album & some ate in my photo stream. Only the photo stream photos are transferring to the new device. How do I move my photo album pictures into my photo stream so I can transfer them to my new phone? Thank you.

If your pictures in your camera roll, you need to restore your phone from back up of the old phone. If your pictures in the albums that were transferred from computer, you need to get a hold on that computer and transfer again. How to manage photo albums in iPad?

Well II6 is here and looks like you can create albums on iPad now. Great. However, also discovered that once you add photos to them, those albums dont sync back to your mac (itunes) or iphoto.
I use iphoto, and can sync albums down to my ipad (this is nothing new). But i cannot add photos from my ipad (or taken on my iphone) to an album downloaded from iphoto. However, you can add photos to an album created on the ipad.
Am I missing something? This seems to make no sense. If i spend all my time organizing in iphoto why would i not want those same albums i organize in ipad saved to iphoto? Ipad organization won't scale to manage all of my photos, and that is only ONE device.
Is this an oversight by Apple, or am i missing some key use case that i need to embrace? Would really appreciate input on this one.
