One to one training

Has anybody actually used the iPhone101 training
they give you when you purchase.
Is it worth it?
What all does it entail.

I haven't heard of any free iphone one-to-one formal training and I was at the Apple Retail store today regarding my iphone and a couple of questions. The sales floor guy was quite helpful and if he could not answer any question I had, he got another fellow to come over and help. They did not mention any cards or any program but they do have free workshops for iPhone training and they try to be helpful if you simply walk into the store as I did.
I did not have to sign up to see a Genius or specialist but they were not yet all busy as I was there at a bit before noon and the doors being opened.

  • Is there or will there ever be online one to one training?

I always wondered way apple does not have online one to one training. i think it will be benifical for every one. personaly i am a bed ridden person and would love to get some one to one training. i know theres a site that has tons of online tutorials that you can subscribe to and its on a lot of  different pieces of software. screencast something... at least i thin its something like that. come on apple it could be a gold mine with people wanting online lessons!

This is the wrong forum the post that request, this is a technical help forum. I would recommend re-sending your message to Apple Feedback, you can find it at:
    www.apple.com/feedback
Do not expect a reply, however it is your opportunity to suggest your idea.
You also may benefit from Apple's "Find Out How" video tutorials, you can find those at:

  • One on One training

I just bought my first Mac. MacPro, I didn't buy the One on One training, but I feel that I need it.  Can I still purchase the One on One traing?

    Info here:
    http://www.apple.com/retail/onetoone/
You should call the store where you bought the computer to see if they can set it up. I' think it only applies to Macs bought in a retail Apple Store, but you need to ask an employee--everyone here are end-users like you.

  • One to One training worth it?

I just purchased my first Mac on Friday. Am considering doing the $99 for the One to One training. Has anyone else done this? Would you recommend it? I've only had it for 24 hrs, and right now it's a bit overwhelming.
    Thanks so much.

If you have a lot of experience with computers, you might be okay without One to One training. Taken bit by bit, the OS is actually quite uncomplicated, and either a Visual Quickstart Guide or Teach Yourself Visually Guide will give you the basic information you need.
    First, read this:
    http://www.apple.com/support/mac101/
    And this:

If you still have nagging quesitons, you might profit from personal support.

  • Apple Store One to One Training

This may not be a technical question however i just wanted to ask if anyone used their One to One training they received when buying an iPhone from an Apple retail store?

    Windacek,
Apple sponsors free tutorials from time to time, and may make them available via webcast. More often, however, the tutorials may be available at some Apple Stores - which doesn't help you at all.
But you can also get free training here:
    http://www.apple.com/findouthow/mac/
These  tutorials provide a full range info on all sorts of topics; you can't ask questions, but the amount if information is impressive. It's especially recommended if you're a visual learner.
Good information, right? Post here if you have any more questions, or even if you want to say thanks!

  • Business One Training

I am looking for support on Business One. I will be starting a new job in 2 weeks that my new company is currently using Business One. I want to be prepared and looking for information on the program. My experience in SAP is with a Fortune 15 company which used SAP.I have researched the internet and only see the same tutorials on Business One. Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Marc

Hello Marc - welcome to the world of SAP B1.
A few outside references/books you might want to get ahold of:
    1.  Introduction to SAP Business One by Robert Mayerhofer.
    2.  SAP Business One Implementation by Wolfgang Niefert.
You can also go to Amazon and look at some reviews done there.
    http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_1_16?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=sapbusinessone&sprefix=sapbusinessone
If you are going to do any work with Crystal Reports, then try to find Crystal Reports Beginner Level Training DVDs by The Orchestra Team (they have some great videos on You Tube also).  A good book is No Stress Tech Guide to Business Objects Crystal Reports 2008 by Dr Murphy.
The Business One to Go from SAP is really a great guide (as already suggested) but please make sure you get the proper version - 2007 or 8.8...
If you are coming from a Fortune company (as I also did), be prepared to cover a whole lot of ground.  You were probably working with the SAP R3 ERP system and there is a world of difference between R3 and SAP B1.  After 5 years in SAP B1, I am pretty happy with all of the new things learned in SAP B1 because there are so many nuances which are easily overlooked.  But your experience with a Fortune company will come in very handily with the "big" picture outlook...
If you are going to be working in an IT technical role or have supervision over IT technical functions, send me a note using the info on my business card and I can help direct you to a good site for IT in a small company that covers much, much more than just SAP.
Please do not hesitate to ask questions in the forum as this is probably the best place to get answers, and there are quite a few great people here willing to help...
Good luck and take care - Zal

  • Business One Training Materials for Opening Balances

Hello, I am doing my first implementation of Business One for a new company.  I have everything setup except for the opening balances.  I have gone through the Opening Balances training on the Partner site but it doesn't show me how to enter the initial opening balance dollar value...
I selected an opening balance g/l account (with a balance of zero because i don't know where to add any $ to this account) then entered their opening balance for their cash account but it displays a negative dollar value for the Opening Balance account due to there not being any $ in that account...
I am wondering what the actual process is of entering the first initial dollar value to get the opening balance account to be zero after doing the opening balances (from the admin menu) rather then it being negative when you are finished with the opening balances?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jason

Opening balance accounts are all clearing account that offset the actual balance. You do not need to enter dollar value directly here. In which way you have entered OB?
    Hello Gordon,
I followed the SAP B1 training whereas I opened the Opening Balances for GL accounts window, selected my opening balance account (which has a balance of zero dollars), entered $100,000 into their bank account G/L account and clicked the Add button.
This ended up giving my opening balance account -100,000 and my bank account a +100,000 balance.
From most of the documents I've read, they say that the opening balance account should be at zero after doing the opening balances but how would you do that in this case (where all they have is a bank account to start with and all BP's accounts set to zero)?
This is a new business starting from scratch... all they have is their bank account and they are currently purchasing items from vendors and they want to enter the transactions for those items starting tomorrow into B1.
    Let me know,
    Jason

  • Discussion Forum for One-to-One Training?

Is there a discussion forum set up yet for Apple's one-to-one personal training service? I can't seem to find it in the forums list. If there isn't one, I would like to request/recommend that one be created.

I thought Apple had people who skimmed these forums for suggestions/recommendations/complaints and in some cases to offer solutions?
I don't think it will do much good to talk to the manager of a local store, when what I want to do is suggest changes to the architecture of the scheduling system. For example, it would be nice if we could check on availability of appointment times without first having to cancel an existing appointment.
Also, it would be nice if we could set our browsers to remember our membership numbers so that it isn't necessary to dig out the membership card and transcribe by hand a 9 or 10 digit number every time you want to schedule an appointment. Or, alternatively, maybe we could just use our email addresses and a password to log into the system, completely obviating the need to use a membership number at all? I mean, Apple knows which membership numbers correspond to which email addresses. (that felt good -- I've been itching to use the word "obviate" for weeks now)
All of this is seems to be managed by Apple corporate, not the local stores. You have to log into the Apple website to schedule appointments.

  • Checklist for one to one training?

Where can I access the checklist with training topics for the one to one session?  I remeber them telling me at my first session that I should bring this with me to the one to one session and check off the topics that we cover.  It was a few months ago and now I can't remember where to find it.

Hi, have you logged into your one to one page to see if there's clues there?

    Hello

I already asked iStudio by Uficon and iStudio by copperwired which are 2 big authorized service provider in Thailand. They said they have group workshop for their customer only.

I asked the same question on local Mac forum, 2 people answered me. There is no official Apple store in Thailand.

  • Training event falls on 2 to 3 days a week. How to consider this as one program in SharePoint 2010

    Dear all,
I have a training event that happens to my staff for 2 to 3 days a week. This will continue for  2 or 3 weeks. This needs to be considered as one training event. For this event the trainer needs to mark attendance on each day. Just to check with you
    - can we accomplish this in sharepoint.net or I need to use c#classes and asp.net to accomplish this project.
    Any inputs are welcome.
    Cheers
    sathya

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to do a event which trigger 2 or 3 days a week to let trainer make attendance each day.
I suggest you can use calendar recurrence event to make the event happen 2 or 3 days a week and you can invite the trainer in the event to make attendance each day.
For making attendance for trainer, you can create a custom web page or web part with some input control to insert the attendance record to a list using Server Object Model. You can log the custom web page url in calendar description.
    More information:
Using web part insert data to a list
    Thanks

  • Does anyone know if apple's one-to-one program would be a good way to learn how to use logic pro or am I better off going to school to learn audio engineering or something?

Of course going to school would be a good option, but I want to know if one-to-one is also a good way to learn how to use logic pro. Has anyone been through the one-to-one program for logic pro and can say that they learned how to use logic pro well because of it?

For sure, one to one training, if given by a tutor who is capable, will hand you the means to build up self-confidence  and will therefore let you operate the hard/software in an intelligent manner, instead of going for the trial and error method which has its pro's and con's too. Once you've passed this beginners phase you will make your own decisions intelligently and then you will also start to get experience and learn even from your mistakes. Something like that in theory and the rest is up to you!
    Have a nice day

  • Why is it in the Apple store in Fresno, Ca there are no scheduled one on one sessions in Aperture, Iphoto, Pages, motion, and several other programs. I purchased two for $200.00 and wonder what's happening

    1. I've purchased two one on one training cards in the Fresno Apple Store.
    2. For the past week and a half I've tried to schedule a personal or group in Aperture, Imovie, motion and the schedule shows to future times.
    3. What is going on that I cannot receive training in any of this popular topics. WHAT'S GOING ON?

    Hi,
You've posted your question on the Apple-sponsored user-to-user discussion forum for Aperture.  Apple prepares for us this little clearing in the orchard, but otherwise is not here.  Your questions should be addressed to the Fresno Apple Store personnel.
