One touch access cant find modem

Phone: N95 8GB
All latest software and drivers installed.
PC suite manager working fine.
Phone connected by cable to USB port.
On the PC in device manager, can see the N95 as a modem.
All other aspects of connecting to the PC working fine.
However when I go to One Touch Access, it says "No modem found".
When I go to the settings page the drop down box to select a modem is not available.
Help!

How about if you first login as admin, then set correct modem and operator, then log-off and login as normal user? Does this work?

  • One Touch Access cannot find Bluetooth Modem

Connecting a 6267 to Windows XP Pro PC using Bluetooth dongle running IVT Bluesoleil. The phone is Paired OK. the PC reports that it is connected to Nokia 6267 and Nokia PC Suite appears to work OK on most functions but doesn't work at all when attempting to Connect to the Internet.
One Touch Access reports "No Modem found" and when I drop down on the list of available modems the Nokia 6267 Bluetooth modem is not shown. In Control Panel/Phones and Modems it is present and can be used in Dial Up Networking to make a connection supporting browser and Outlook. I am using Nokia PC Suite 6.86.9.0 and Bluesoleil 2.3.0. I have followed the advice on another similar posting and installed Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver 6.85.10 without any improvement.
I can connect using a USB cable and the Nokia 6267 Cable Modem, but it bugs me not to be able to use BT.
    Any suggestions will be welcomed.

  • N95 + One Touch Access issue on Windows Vista Busi...

    Hi all,
I searched for a solution to this issue both in this forum and in the Nokia PC Suite help but I couldn't find any.
I'm able to use Nokia PC Suite with my N95 + cable DKE-2 except for One Touch Access.
When I clic on "Connect to the Internet" I get the following error message pop up:
"You do not have sufficient privileges to modify the connection properties. Only Administrators can create and modify connections."
The funny thing is that I am an Admnistrator of my notebook (I don't know how many times I checked it from the Advanced User Accounts Control Panel).
If I clic "Ok" I get the One Touch Access window with the following message:
"There are no Nokia modems installed. Please make sure you have installed Nokia Connectivity Cable driver software."
And below the picture of the notebook and the base station:
    "No modem found!"
But if I check in the Device Manager (Control Panel) list I find "Nokia N95 USB Modem #2".
Moreover, as far as I understood, the cable driver is automatically installed with the Nokia PC Suite and I shouldn't reinstall it: http://europe.nokia.com/A4144937.

I've had the same problem but it was not solved by installing PC Suite 6.84 (as this failed to install), however this is how I got around it.
Find the "OneTouchAccess.exe" program. It should be in C:/Program Files/Nokia/Nokia PC Suite 6/. Right-click the "OneTouchAccess.exe" program icon and go to ‘Properties’, then click the ‘Compatibility’ tab. Under ‘Privilege Level’, select ‘Run this program as administrator’ and click ‘OK’.
Then when "PC Suite" tries to launch "OneTouchAccess.exe" via the "Connect to the Internet" icon, it does so with the right privilieges.
(Any body know why PC Suite 6.84 would not install on my Acer notebook running Windows Vista V6.0 Build 6000?)

  • One Touch Access Alone !!!

    Hi,
Is it possible to install the software "One Touch Access" alone without PC Suite?
I want to use my phone to go on internet with my eeepc and I don't have enough space to install the entire PC Suite soft.
    Thanx for you help

I think in your case you can do same by two other ways
1.1 Install modem drivers from the page of your phone on europe.nokia.com
1.2 Create a connection using the modem you have instaled. Use the connection you created to establish a gprs connection to internet
    and  :
    2. if you use a Simbian phone  with WLAN there is an application in you "download" cannel called JoikuSpot
read the help of the application - you will need no additional instalations on the PC ( eePC)
    regards
If you need my help or I late with an answer you need, send me a private message
    P.S.
Please before doing that, be sure you have already searched the topict on this site about the issue you have. Read Help sections before asking. Describe yor issue step by step with complete details.

    Hi
The problem is that with this version of the software, sync and everything works except for the one touch access feature (I want to browse the internet via my N95 8gb phone connected to a laptop). It says that the modem is not found even though it's there. This was working previously in an older version of the software.
    Windows XP SP2
    PC Suite Version 2.0.262.0
    Connection via USB Cable DKE-2
The connection is through Three Australia (Has worked in the past with the older software).
I've taken a screenshot of the error with 3 other screens showing the phone is actually connected :

The latest public version is 6.86 and available at www.nokia.com/pcsuite
It's much better than the n-series version.
Ahhh... yes... I went to the download site and just clicked on the top link (didnt realise that there's 2 seperate links). I thought I was downloading 6.86 of Nokia Nseries PC Suite when I clicked on the bottom link.

Someone at nokia web needs to do a usability refresh and put the different software into a split cell so people know there's 2 links instead of 1.
I'm in the process of uninstalling the old one now.

I found a situation where your error message appears. It is the case when the nokia is connected using the data transfer mode and simultaneously the OneTouch Application is started. Then the device is not recognized by the modem software. The PC Suite mode is required for the OneTouch Application.
In my situation I think I already saw all of the possible error messages described in the documentation during the various experiments.
For example I tried to uninstall and reinstall the cable drivers. Unfortunately the driver page of N95 8GB does not include them only the page of N95. This was a step towards success - what concerns the OneTouch Application.
Sometimes it is useful to switch off and on the phone, specially when it is not possible to connect with the modem driver.
In my opinion the possibility of completly uninstalling the Nokia Suite is missing. You can uninstall all parts but after reinstallation the Nokia Phone Browser is no more available, the icon is not displayed. All the software packages are working fine even the modem drivers but not the Phone Browser.

  • Problem with One Touch Access and N73

    I have:
    * Windows Vista SP1
    * PC Suite 7.1.18.0
    * N73 phone
I want to use my phone as a modem, but after Windows upgraded to SP1 clicking the connect button in One Touch Access results in immediate disconnect message. I tried reinstalling PC Suite 6.8 from the CD I got with the phone and finally upgraded to 7.1.18.0 but the problem still occurs. Any solution to this?

I've been having this problem for 4 months now and it totally prevented me from using my phone as a modem. But today I accidentally stumbled upon the solution for my case. I discovered that what kept blocking the one touch access from connecting to the phone was the feature called User Account Control, in windows vista. You can turn this feature off by going to the User Accounts. The last option there reads Turn User Account Control on or off. Open it, uncheck the box (Use User Account Control UAC) and click ok. Et voila!
My one touch access worked smoothly thereafter.
Let me know if it works for you too. Good luck

    Hello,
Nokia 2700 Classic used as modem for pc. ISP = Vodafone Romania. So far, it works, but rather slow. Please inform me what are the appropriate settings in One Touch Access , manual configuration, in the last field "additional initialization commands". Shall I get more speed with such commands?

Only Vodafone can help you with that. I generally leave that box empty as it makes no difference.

  • I have an old hard drive from a ruined computer attached to my new one but i cant find my old bookmarks which i want to install on the new machine. help please!

my old computer was running vista, and i had hundreds of bookmarks in many folders, but i cant find these when exploring the old drive. I presume i cant use the import facility as i wouldnt be able to access the firefox browser itself on the old drive, but i was hoping the bookmarks would be stored somewhere accessible

thanks for the suggestions weather15 - the firefox help site you directed me to explains what ought to happen but i cant make it work. I shut my firefox browser on my new machine and attach the hard drive from my old machine. I can explore the contents of that drive but when i search it for the suggested folder " %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\" nothing is found. when i try and open firefox from the old drive, the browser opens that is the new version that i have on my new computer with no saved bookmarks! Am I doing everything right?
