I want to create one user to have DBA previlage on 2 databases and I want to create one tablespace shared between 2 databases

Using one user account table across multiple databases but account used as a foreign key

I want to use one user account table from one database and use it across a couple other databases. The problem is that I want some tables to use the primary key from the user account table as a foreign key to access the data when the user logs in. Is this
the right way of going about it? Do I have to create a user account table in all my databases? What is the best practice to handle this problem? Thanks in advance.

One User has wrong Exchagne Server Settings in Outlook, showing Exchange Server Name Instead of CAS Array Name.

I have one users Outlook settings that is showing the name of the Exchange CAS server instead of the CAS Array Name. Other users seem to be fine. I have tried recreating profile and doing an automatic and manual install. Can

One user has very slow network drives on terminal server.

I am using a windows XP machine to connect to a 2003 terminal server. I have one user that was complaining about how long it took her to open files from a network share. I found that this is a problem with her account as it is slow no matter where she logs
in from. E.G when I log in to the server from my computer as me, it is quite fast, if I do the same but log in as her it is painfully slow accessing the network drives.
Does anyone has any ideas?Kind regards,

The issue seems it’s related to network problem, please check the network connection behavior. Network performance issues can also be caused by auto-tuning, because not all network devices support auto-tuning well. So try to disable the autotunning behavior
with below mention command and check the result.
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
In addition check KB 885189 for slowness mapped drive issue to Server 2003. Apart from this, check the below article to make the network connection fast.

I have to develop report with some changes now o/p is needed as one user in whole year how many TC done and list those.

One user has no audio since 10.6.8 upgrade

Since our 10.6.8 upgrade, one of my kids' accounts lost all audio. I've tried futzing with System Prefs, deleting plists.... any advice out there? The other three accounts are all OK.

Only one user has the site coming up as insecure how do we fix this?

Our company webpage is coming up with the shield and displays with no graphics. We can allow it to display manually by clicking on the shield, but then when Firefox is restarted it is back to not displaying again. . We have checked all of the settings and cannot find anything to "white list" the site. I would think that if it was going to do this for one person it would do it for everyone? The computer is a Dell laptop running Windows 7 Enterprise with Firefox 33.0.3. He does not have this issue with IE 10.

When one acco has iTunes open, the other users get error message

I have Vista Ultimate, 64 bit. My computer has three user accounts. If one user has iTunes open, then, when another user logs on, he gets window after window of "You can't start iTunes because someone else has it open", even though he's not trying to start iTunes!
The only solution is to log off the first user which is not always desirable if that user is not around. This is happening awhile now. Is there no fix yet???

I have the same problem described; let me add some information.
1) I am set up as the "Owner" in Win7. My wife is set up as 2nd account. If I have iTunes open and my wife opens her account nothing happens. However, if my wife has iTunes open and I open my account, Windows gives me that annoying message saying that another user has iTunes open...every 30 seconds.

Most interesting thing I learned from this is that this error is found on multiple Windows platforms, but everyone is using an HP computer.

He is getting multivalve error when he execute the report (Webi) using his credentials .but other user can execute the same report without error
As per my understanding itu2019s not possible because its data issue not authorization issue
Am I correct? If I wrong kindly advise me

*Previously the same issue fixed at the time we created one dimension object (WBS Element Key) instead of detail object (L01 WBS Element Key)

Hi Tamil,
The multivalue with SAP typically pops up when the master data of an infoobject is not unique for each key.
So the description or caption of the infoobject has homonyms (two different keys can have the same description).
If you have the keyfigures/measures defined as database delegated you will get this multivalue because SAP cannot calculate it on the combined level.
So authorisation might have impact if one user can see the two (or more) keys and the other user does not.
Two ways to solve this.
1) set the aggregation method of the object to sum (on the advanced tab).
This allows WebI to sum the values pulled back on the two different key values.
2) use the key as the master/dimension object and the caption/description as the detail.

Finding difference of two databases

I have a webapplication connected to SQL Server 2012 Web Edition.
As soon as the webserver is down I start a second webserver, which needs to have the same content, also on SQL DB level.
That’s why I take a backup of the SQL Server on the first server recovering it to the second server. This works fine.
The database name as well as the database user name are the same on both SQL servers. This database user has owner rights on database level. The configuration does not change, during recovery process on the target server, which overwrites
the earlier content state of the db.
For any reason the webapplication cannot connect to the database afterwards. Of course the contents of the html files in the IIS webfolders are identical on both servers.
The application connects via IP address 127.0.0.1 (not server name), database name, database user and password, all these parts have also been initially set on both servers in the same way.
It seems, that the two databases still have a slight difference.
Your input is welcome.

When you restore a database to a different instance, there may be a SID mismatch between the login in the master database and the user in the user database. This can be corrected with ALTER USER for a normal user:
USE MyDatabase;
ALTER USER YourDatabseUserName
WITH LOGIN = YourLoginName;
You mentioned database owner permissions (a questionable practice from application code). If the problem login is the database owner, you can change the database owner (mapped to dbo user) with ALTER AUTHORIZATION:
ALTER AUTHORIZATION ON DATABASE::MyDatabase TO YourLoginName;
If this doesn't resolve the issue, please post the error message.

Make PDF formular only accessable for one user at the same time?

Hello!
I designed a formular which needs to be filled in by different departments of our company. Unfortunatly the DF can be opened by several people at the same time. Is there any way to "lock" the PDF, fot that only one user has access to the formular at the same time, like e.g in MS Word Docs?
Please help, I coudn´t find a solution myself.

Failed to parse SQL query by one user

in my app i have a text-item with a submit button. In this item i type a name and a report after the item-region show me the result(s). this works for all my users (>2000) perfectly, but one of this users become an error in the report-region:
failed to parse SQL query:
ORA-01403: no data found
We try this with the same searchstring on the same computer/browser. If i logged in the result is ok, if the user logged in, the error message shows. If i try this on the computer from the user with me logged in, result ok. If the user try this on an other pc, results error.
I have an productive and a developer workspace. In the developer workspace the user can try this perfectly without errors. Only in the productive workspace the error shows.
The SQL-Select in the reprirt ist verry simple:
select id
, name
, raum
from table
where instr(upper(name), upper(:P60_SEARCH))>0
However all users can use this search-field with report perfectly, only this one user has the error. It is no restrictions on this item or report.
Can anybody help me?

user preferences do not have anything to do with the fact where the user resides (apex built in, LDAP, whatever). User Preferences are saved for a named user and they are loaded next time the same user loggs in. For example, if you sort your report on a column x, apex will save this as a setting and next time you call the same report, this report will be sorted the same way. Since you don't have a permission to edit services, you should check your adminstrative permissions and conntact the real administrator of the workspace to do that "purge prefference" for you. I could bet this is the reason you are getting that strange error message.

With XP, with three different user accounts, is it possible to download Firefox 4 to one user and retain Firefox 3 on another, for a learning period?

We are running XP, and have 3 different user accounts on one desktop. We are very excited by the Firefox4 features, but one user has much less comfort with changes, and doesn't want to lose browsing comfort in 3 before he has a chance to get used to using 4. May take a while....
Is there any way to download Firefox 4, perhaps into a new location. Or a new user account. And use this as a 'teaching tool' while still retaining 3?
Or can we upgrade to 4, redownload a version of 3, and import that user's previous bookmarks to the new download of 3, until we get him comfortable.
The answer is probably no. But if there is a creative way to do this, without another computer available, that would be great. If not, we upgrade and deal with the frustration and whining here.... 4 is too good to pass up.

When you install Firefox 4, choose the custom installation option and change the location where Firefox is installed. You will then have 2 versions of Firefox installed.
As you have different user accounts, each user will have their own Firefox profile (location where bookmarks, passwords, etc are stored). You should not switch between different versions of Firefox with the same user profile. For those that want to use Firefox 4, just make sure you use a Firefox shortcut that opens Firefox 4, likewise for the person who wants to stay with Firefox 3, just keep their original Firefox shortcut and it should open the old version.
