One Z10 works fine, the other has problems connecting to mobile network

Hi, my wife and I both have Z10's, and we're both on the same mobile network (Wind Mobile in Canada). The wife's Z10 seems to have no problems connecting to or staying connected to Wind Mobile. Mine on the other hand seems to randomly drop the connection, or has trouble obtaining connection, and sometimes ends up roaming.
The only difference between the two Z10's is that hers is purchased through Wind Mobile itself, and it is locked to their network for the moment. I purchased mine a bit later, and I bought mine directly through Blackberry's online store, and mine is therefore unlocked. What I have to do sometimes is turn off the mobile connection, and turn it back on, and it works after I do that. However, that's annoying, as I'd rather have it automatically retry the network connection so that it doesn't go roaming within my own city.

If you're passing by a Wind store in the near future, why not drop in and ask if they'll swap SIM cards for you? It could be something with the SIM.
In the meantime, try resetting your phone. This is equivalent to doing a battery pull and it's usually the first thing I recommend when troubleshooting an issue. Simply press and hold your power button for about 15 seconds until you see BlackBerry on your screen. Don't release the button before that and ignore anything that appears before BlackBerry.

    Can you help? I manage two sun web servers that are set up identically with the exception that one is on a clustered Solaris system.
    I used the standard Sun Web Server interface set up JDBC Data Resources for my databases to do connection pooling. My web application runs simple queries using the class attached below.
    On one web server, the one not running on the cluster, I never have issues with the data sources.
    On the other web server, the one running on the Solaris cluster, I often get the following error:
    java.sql.SQLException: RSR0009: Resource not available for pool [MyDBResource].  Wait-time expired.This error comes up irregularly after several days where there are no problems. The particular database involved is a MySQL database. The web server version is the newest one available.

    Did you ever solve this issue? We are running an applications on 4 Sun web servers. Every now and then, we get the following error on one or two of the servers.
    java.sql.SQLException: RSR0009: Resource not available for pool [jdbc/homeDB]. Wait-time expired
    It has been happening a couple times a week where the connection pool on a server becomes unusable and a restart is needed. We just keep getting the error message (wait time expired) over and over again (we have a health check jsp that makes a database call that gets executed every minute or so) It usually happens in the middle of the night and it usually only affects one server, but every now and then it will occur on two around the same time. It has happened at least once on each server. There is nothing unusual from the database side except that a bunch of connections seem to get dropped around the time we see the initial error message. We are using SPRING (JdbcTemplate) to handle the connections and query, so we do not have any custom code to close connections/results/statements. The application only queries the database and does not do any inserts/updates/deletes. We also get the following error message prior to the "Resource not available for pool" error messages.

  • Two Windows 7 accounts on one pc, one firefox works fine, the other fixefox not responding.

    We have 2 WIndows 7 accounts on one pc. On the account my wife uses, she is always having problems with firefox that I never have.
    Recently it was shrinking fonts in emails.
    Now, she gets Firefox not responding on start up. Can't reset settings because I can't get control of the menu in firefox while it is spinning.
    What to do, eh?

    It may also be a local problem with some other programs on her account. I would run both an antivirus (Windows Security Essentials, Kaspersky, etc) and an anti-malware (Malwarebytes) to discount those possibilities, then use a Task Manager window (ctr-alt-del or right click the taskbar) to monitor resource usage.
    It's also possible she accidentally installed a lot of taskbars which are draining resources and modifying behavior. Once you get into the browser using Guig2's method (above), look at your addons and plugins, use a search engine to figure out what they do, and disable what you're not using. You may need to use Add/Remove programs as well.

    Reh... Doesn't work on my 2012 Mac mini. A function key set in Sys Prefs worked in Leopard and Lion on my MB but I cannot get any key to work using SysPref Dictation & Speech. It is befuddling and now I have to go to Edit-Speech to turn on and turn off speech to selected text.
    I have used Macs and Apple 2es since cave man days and Apple is becoming so befuddling I am wondering if there is even an advantage to it over Windows XP. I spent a lot on this little box, it looks good (the first one had to be exchanged as it wouldn't link to my keyboard ???) but Apple intuitive does no longer seem meaningful.
    If speech to text no longer is accessible by short cuts using Fkeys, why bother to have it in Syst Prefs?
    Apple is losing its way. The pleasure is gone and no one at Apple seems to care.

    I have been doing a little work with XML today and I wrote the following code which did not function properly. In short, it was as if there were elements in the NodeList that disappeared after the initial call to NodeList.getElementsByTagName("span"); The code completely drops through the for loop when I make a call to getTextContent, even though it is not a controlling variable and it does not throw an exception! I'm befuddled. The second portion of code works. For what it is worth, tidy is the HTML cleaner that's been ported to java (JTidy) and parseDOM(InputStream, OutputStream) is supposed to return a Document, which it does! So why I have to call a DocumentBuilderFactory and then get a DocumentBuilder is beyond me. If I don't call Node.getTextContent() the list is processed properly and calls to toString() indicate that the class nodes are in the list! Any help would be appreciated!

    }And I receive 29 (The correct number) of non-null references to objects (Node objects) in the NodeList.
    When I replace the exact same for loop with this code :

    }Nothing prints. This discussion has never been about "clever means to suppress exceptions" it has been precisely about why a loop that has the
    exact same references, exact same indices prints one time and doesn't print the other and does not throw an exception. If you can answer
    that question then I am interested. I am not interested in pursuing avenues that are incorrect, not understood and most importantly shot from the hip without much thought.

    I can connect fine to my work wifi but only the mail app is working - googlemail account. Safari cannot find server and all other apps requiring wifi do not work.
    All of the apps work fine when connecting to my home wifi so nothing wrong with the ipod.
    Confused. Do different apps use different wifi settings?
    Any help would be much appeciated!!

    There might be a filter or firewall at work preventing access to internet. Check with your network administrator.

  • Video Posting Not Working for One Page - Working fine on others...

    I have a page created using iWeb that features a video, however the video will not load properly when the page is opened.

    As anyone can clearly see, the quality of the homepage created site is not nearly as good as the iWeb created site and therefore I would much prefer the iWeb site to work.
    So far I have tried renaming the video, creating a new page in iWeb, creating a new site in iWeb, and re-encoding the video and using the new encode.
    So far none of these solutions has worked. Does anyone have any advice/experience with this or similar problems?
    And just for the record, I'm using the latest version of iWeb, 1.1.2.

  • Reprot doesnt run for just one user works fine for others

    hi guys
    i am having a weird issue. we have one user who cant run a workbook everyone else can. She has security to it, but this is the first time she had tried runnign this workbook.
    there are some plants selected in the menu when we remove those plants than the report runs fine. so i am guessing it has something to do with those plants. but as mentioned ealrier she has security to them.
    the msg she gets instantly is "No Applicable Data" . if its was a auth issue she would get a diff error. This is BW3.5 front end.
    Does it have anything to do with the Personalized setting options. becasue when she run the query some plants show up by default in thye sel menu. but not he ones that she is having the issue with.
    any ideas appreciated.

    when she run and u see the variable screen execute it and then in next window right click and hit delete personalisation
    now if this doesnot solve then when u see variable screen try to see if she didnt save any variants

  • AAM crashes in one user, works in the other...

    I have a ton of CS applications installed on my Mac, and switch between several users, depending on my activity (researching, presenting, teaching). Until last week, everything went fine: all CS6 applications ran under CC, even CCC seemed up to date and all apps reported nicely in my AAM (apart from those AIR-based apps). Until Muse prompted me to update, which I did. AAM downloaded Muse, installed it, and I opened it. Muse prompted me to supply more CC account details, but as I did that, it said there was an unexpeted error (I-200). I tried again, but in vain - the same message. I didn't have time to look into the problem immediately, so I left it for a while.
    A few days a casual system restart passed by, and I noticed more CC problems: CCC didn't sign in anymore, and AAM crashed, as soon as I was prompted to sign in. I hoped that after removing the previous version of Muse, things might change for the better, but it didn't. AAM still went on crashing and Muse kept throwing that error. I tried replacing AAM with a manually and freshly downloaded and installed version. But still, exactly the same trouble.
    Strangely enough, on another user (on the same Mac), AAM, CCC and Muse run just fine ! I was even able to install the Muse update, with some difficulties though, but I don't think these were directly related to the above problem. AAM reported a "beta version present", which is just not true. So I manually ran the Muse installer, with no problem. Still, AAM is not satisfied and keeps telling me it can't install Muse, due to that resident beta version. Whatever...
    Well, a couple of weeks ago, someone at a different forum advised users to delete a certain AAM prefs storage folder from the User Library. And it helped in some cases and circumstances ! I wonder if I could give that a try, but I've forgotten the name of that folder and can't retrieve the forum post anymore.
    Any clues, advice, or solution ?

    Peter the account specific folder you are looking for is located in Users/<Username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE.  In specific I believe the discussion was to remove the opm.db file.
    You are certainly welcome to try this as it seems to assist many Muse users who are facing installation or problems in general with Adobe Muse.  It also is something which is user account specific so it may allow your current user account to begin functioning properly again.
    You can access the hidden User Library by holding down the option key in the Finder and going to your Go Menu.

    When you install Firefox 4, choose the custom installation option and change the location where Firefox is installed. You will then have 2 versions of Firefox installed.
    As you have different user accounts, each user will have their own Firefox profile (location where bookmarks, passwords, etc are stored). You should not switch between different versions of Firefox with the same user profile.
