OneDrive Folder Invisible in Lightroom 5.5

I keep a selection of working images in OneDrive (Windows 8.1) to work on in various locations. I can't see the folder in Lightroom 5.5 so can't import into the app. Is there a workaround for this or am I missing something?
Cheers,
Simon

There are probably as many ways to figure out what's going on as there are people trying to figure it (ok, maybe less), but here is what I would do:
* Make sure "Treat JPEGs and RAWs separately" is checked in Lr preferences (general tab - import option).
* Run the script titled "Choose files via OS and select in Lr or add to catalog" - free, by me, available here:
o robcole.com - MiscLrScripts
* Select all files in folder (or just select the folder).
* Choose options:
o Add to catalog (if not already present)
o Select only if newly imported
When finished, the files that Lr would not import will be imported (if importable) and selected, at which point you can decide whether to delete or keep...

  • How do i get my folder structure in Lightroom to replicate my hard drive folder structure?

My issues is that post-import from Aperture, my folder structure in Lightroom does not match my folder structure on my hard-drive.  In particular, rather than be structured as in my hard-drive:
    2015 (folder)
    -> 2015-01-30 (sub folder)
    -> 2015-02-15 (sub folder)
    -> 2015-03-03 (sub folder)
All of the photo folders are listed individually as:
    2015-01-30
    2015-02-15
    2015-03-03
In addition, a number of folders have been created in the form 01a2a201aff9c8c684928629ea41221c0fa5930ab7 where no folder exists on my hard drive in this form and the image contains the right date meta data.
As I've got photos dating back to 2005 and a lot of different days taking photos, this is making the folders view unmanageable.
I completed the Aperture migration in two stages (as i did not have sufficient space to replicate images in move across to Lightroom)
    1.  Moved Aperture original images from being References to Managed (with the file structure above)
    2.  Then used the Lightroom plug in to import the library from Aperture (which has successfully copied across meta data and my folder structure + edits from Aperture)
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?  In particular:
    1) Adding in 2015 folder level to structure?
    2) Removing all off the 01a2a201aff9c8c684928629ea41221c0fa5930ab7 folders?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Joe

In the "folders" pane, right-click on the folder you see and select "show parent folder". Repeat as needed.

  • Folder structure in lightroom does not match structure at system level

The folder structure in lightroom as shown in the library module seems to have got confused.  Instead of having the nested structure that appears on my hard drive I have a long list of folders.  The list of folders gives the full pathway.  When I hold the cursor over the folder name in lightroom there seems to be some duplication of the pathway so they look like this on two lines:
    Parent folder\level one\level two
    Drive name:\parent folder\level one\2
Is it the number "2" that is the problem and if so how do I get rid of it?  Or there any other ideas.
    Any help gratefully received

Right-click (Windows) or Ctrl-click (Mac) on one of the folders and to open the folder context menu then choose Add Parent Folder

  • Apple Updates Make Library Folder Invisible to Photoshop

Can anyone tell me how to make my library folder visible to Photoshop CS5.1 Extended? My fonts have been missing ever since I ran an update the os x 10.75 update on my mac. Adobe help said that with the updates, apple made the library folder invisible to photoshop. i tried their suggestion to go to terminal and type a command to make the library folder permanently visible, but that didn't solve the problem.

You've gotten misinformation, so you're confused.  Not your fault at all.
The ROOT LEVEL Library is not hidden in 10.7.5 at all.  It's right there where it has always been, at the Root Level, i.e. at the same level where your Applications, Systems and Users folders have always been.
That's the Library where your fonts belong, in a sub-folder labeled Fonts.
What is hidden is the User Library, and it is hidden for a very good reason:  you have no business messing with that Library.  Fonts do not belong there at all.  Apple made it hidden precisely because they don't want you to find it.  And it has nothing to do with any updates, it has been there since Lion 10.7.0 beta, not available to the general public.
There is of course a way to access it, and no Terminal hokus pokus is involved at at all.  It's right under the GO menu in the Finder > Go to Folder…, you just need to know exactly what path to type there to get to the Library.
I won't tell you because you really have no business going there in the first place, especially at your level of knowledge of the Mac OS X.
Adobe help said that with the updates, apple made the library folder invisible to photoshop
Ah, you just happened to talk to a complete, ignorant idiot, of which there are untold numbers manning the outsourced customer service and tech support call centers in India.
Even the hidden User Library is visible to all applications.  What you were told is utter nonsense.  Apple wanted to keep clueless users out, not applications.  Good Grief!
Now tell us what fonts you're talking about specifically, where you put them and how you manage your fonts.
Hope I will have regained a measure of composure by the time you get back to us with detailed information about your system and your computer maintenance practices.
Make sure your Photoshop installation is updated to CS5.1 vers. 12.1.

  • Library File in User Folder Invisible?

Is there a way to change this folder to being visible? I turned off invisible files, and it showed up, then made an alias for it so I can still access with invisible files turned on, but is there a way to change the default of this folder to being visible? I'm running Lion btw.

It helps to deter users who don't know what they are doing from poking around where they should not be.
I'm curious about something. Was my reply inferior to Sjazbec's? I ask because you awarded him a Correct Answer while mine was only Helpful. But they are both the same, essentially, except that mine requires less typing and you don't even need to know your username.

  • Pictures DISAPPEARED from pictures folder after installing lightroom to use with creative cloud

so i had lightroom on a trail period that had ended.  i had then gone to try out the creative cloud lightroom and it asked me to install.  in hindsight i should have just transferred my files to my external hard drive just in case... but i didn't.  so after installing the new updated lightroom, MOST of my photos have disappeared from their original folder.  like LOTS and LOTS of photos.  but it kept SOME of the photos.
can anyone help me?!  lots of memories lost possibly and i'm quite displeased and worried...

  • How to make a folder invisible of a particular user

    Hi All,
I want to make a folder/report invisible for a particular user, but I want to access that report through hyper link of another report.
Is this possible?? can anyone suggest me?

    Hi,
    What version are you on?
If you deny access to the folder in which the report is placed the user should not be able to see the report. If you then provide view access to the user on the report explicitly (you might have to turn off inheritance for the object), then this should override the deny and you shouldbe able to hyperlink to it. So the user has access to the report but has no way of getting to it, except through your hyperlink
Let me know how you get on
    Regards
    Alan

  • When I save an image after editing it goes into my Bridge folder instead of Lightroom.

I have been using Photoshop CS5 and Bridge for photo editing.  I recently got Lightroom 4.  When I edit a picture and save it, it goes to my Bridge pictures folder not back into Lightroom.  How do I get it to save into Lightroom?
    Thanks fo ryour help.
    Cheers, Brent

You can try to drag the image in a Photoshop window instead.<br />
If that still doesn't work then you need to save the image and open it in Photoshop.

  • User folder invisible after installing OS 10.9.3

Immediately after installing OS 10.9.3 my user folder became invisible on both my iMac and my MacBookPro.  Several applications that needed to access files within this folder became unusable.  Withou any reference to this apparent bug, Apple quietly fixed the problem in the latest iTunes update 11.2.1.  Thanks for quickly fixing a problem that was causing me a lot of grief.

  • Application folder invisible in mac HD window

I have been using Tiger since it came out and have not had any problems until today. My applications folder is not visible after a double click on my mac hd icon. It has always been there. I know the applications are there because spotlight finds them right away and says they are on the hard drive right were they usually are. They work fine. But how do I make the folder for my apps shop\w up again. This freaked me out so I am downloading norton antivirus. This appeared after I downloaded a program called easy card which I found on Apple's made for mac section. Any Ideas?

    hi robndi -
this is most likely something simple and local (nothing you need norton antivirus for)... for reasons that are not related to your particular problem, i think you should think twice before installing norton antivirus. these days, norton apps cause more problems than they solve. don't go there...
now. re: your invisible Application folder...
    have to restarted recently?
if yes, then try this: download XRay...
from that app, if you can browse to your apps folder, then there will be a kind of info window containing a checkbox near the bottom where you can toggle the folder's visibility...
if this doesn't help, post back - but this is a simple/common problem. nothing to do w/ a virus etc... cheers

  • How can I make a desktop folder invisible?

At one time I hid a folder on my desk top. To pull the folder up, I had to launch Finder and hit "Command+Shift+G" to get to the folder. My problem is, I forgot how to hide the folders and I'd like to do this again. (I did a factory reset and I'd still like to have that hidden folder). Any help would be great.

    From the terminal:
apple defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
    killall Finder
    exit
to create a hidden file/folder, simply add a "." in front of it from the terminal:
    cd pathtofolder
    mkdir .hiddenfolder
    exit
to revert to back the default:
apple defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles False
    killall Finder
    exit
OR making your folder visible by default:
    cd pathtofolder
    mv .hiddenfolder hiddenfolder
    exit

  • Folder Listings in Lightroom 3

In LR3, if I close up all of the folders in the library module, shut down LR3, and then reopen LR3, all of those folders open up again, along with their subfolders.
This is unlike LR2.7 where if I have the folders all closed, or have some opened and some closed, when I exit LR2.7 and then open it up again, the folders are listed exactly as they were when I exited LR2.7 the last time.
In LR3, if I close everything up to the Disk level, then when I exit LR3 and load it gain, then all folders remain closed as I left them.  But, if I open any folder at all, it appears as if they all reopen the next time I start LR3.
This is more of a nuisance than anything; when all folders and subfolders open again, I have to go through and close all of them and just leave open the one I want to work on.
This happens regardless if I backup the catalog or not upon exit.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this the way it is?  If it is the way it is, it would be very nice to have it work the way 2.7 worked.

I looked at the fixes in 3.2, and, indeed, there is a fix for my problem I described.
Because 3.2 is a "release candidate" and not generally available, I'll read up on it first to see if I can see any problems I should be aware of, but I'll probably upgrade to it soon.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Weird folder names in Lightroom 1.4 OSX

    "Contents at /System/Library/CoreServices/Setup Assistant.app/Contents/Resources/WirelessSection.bundle"
Um. I didn't put these photos here, and now, of course, Lightroom has trouble with them...
I would delete them, but I'm not sure if these are originals, or what.

    Hi Rich
    Thanks for the note.
They are most certainly System paths, yes. That's what concerns me.
    Didn't import the volume.
Typically, these have been imported by iPhoto from the camera, and then "Import in Place" in Lightroom from the iPhoto library. (Not wanting to have unnecessary duplication unnecessarily :)
SO, regardless of whether they were initially on an external drive, or whatever, it's very strange to see these System paths showing up.
Attempting to access the image gives
"Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo."
"You will not be able to make adjustments to the photo."
