Onekey & Partitioning - IdeaCentre K210 - 53134BU

Hi, I Partitioned the (BIG) K210 "C" Drive into a "C" Drive for Vista and Onekey Rescue & Recovery, a "D" Drive which I use to install programs and apps, an "E" Drive where I keep the data files and a "F" Drive for photos.
My question is, if I ever need to use Onekey R&R, will my Hard Drive be Partitioned back to factory setting of one BIG "C" Drive or will Onekey only install Vista and the Lenovo "freebies" (that came with the system) on the newly partitioned "C" Drive and leave the "D", "E" and "F" Drives / Partitions that I created alone?

That's a great question. I believe we have a K210 in the lab and we should try this to confirm the results.

IE7.0 problems (IdeaCentre K210 - 53134BU)

Hello again guys, it appears that no one has been able to help me with some of the other problems that I am having with my IdeaCentre K210 - 53134BU system, let's see if any has experienced and/or, might have an idea of what's going on with Internet Explorer?
First off, IE takes "forever" to load and I say this because I also have Mozilla and am using it instead of IE because of the loading problem but more because IE seems to crash / lock (for no apparent reason)!
I have noticed that if I open Yahoo Mail with IE and the note has a hyperlink to a Website, if I clink on the link a BLANK new page opens up and after a few minutes, I see Not Responding and have to close IE.
I also noticed that if I have three SEPARATE IE sessions open and one of the sessions advises me NOT RESPONDING, when I close that sessions ALL IE windows/sessions shut down.
This is a MAJOR nuisance and I do NOT use IE and was wondering am I alone or have any of you also had problems with IE?

did you try removing it completly or try to use IE8 beta 2?
IE8 can reopen tabs which have either crashed or have been closed which are un-responsive try it..

Hi,
I have a Lenovo IdeaCentre K210 and it constanlty freezes. Can anyone help me on this? I have not been able to solve the issue.

IdeaCentre K210 RAM

Hi, I have an IdeaCentre K210 system that came standard with 3GB of RAM and would like to upgrade to 4GB, preferably 6GB of RAM and would appreciate H-E-L-P!
I assume that I have 2GB module and a 1GB module and will have to "throw away" the 1GB RAM and have 2 questions. first, WHAT type of RAM does the IdeaCentre K210 have (what type of RAM do I need to purchase) and second, can the system "handle" 6GB or is 4GB the maxium capacity available on the IdeaCentre K210 system?

P.S.- so far the only upgrades that I have made was adding another 500GB HDD (for a total of 1T), are their any upgrades that someone has made that they would recommend to the IdeaCentre K210 for other users to consider?

I am trying to load Office 2003 on my K210. It appears the pre-loaded trial version of Office 2007 is causing a conflict... "BCM Office Addin - Office Application Version does not match". My research says i should uninstall the Business Contact Manager (BCM). I am trying to uninstall BCM but need more help... I already uninstalled the pre-loaded trial version of Office 2007. IdeaCentre K210-Soyo Monitor and Display Adapter

Hi I have a Soyo Monitor -Dylmo17b. I just received an update and my graphics driver got changed to Intel G33/G31 Express Chipset Family. But ever since Soyo went bankrupt I don't have a driver for the monitor and there's a driver for it but its generic.. My viewing on my videos even general viewings colors aren't vivid almost like a matte view. Is there something I can do about it. Any suggestions out there please.

You will not fry or overcharge the battery. Mac OSX prevents that from happening. Keep it plugged in without worry.

K210 Vista Home Premium not booting after latest Vista Update.

This is my pc specs:
Lenovo IdeaCentre K210 Intel Desktop PC - Intel Celeron Dual Core E1200 1.6GHz, 2GB DDR2, 320GB SATA II, DVDRW, Intel GMA3100, Webcam, Veriface, Flash Reader, Vista Home Premium SP1
After the latest windows update on February 12th, 2009. I woke up to my pc error beeping continously at the prompt before windows should boot up.
I have only had this lenovo pc for 5 months and it was working perfectly fine before this update. Onekey recovery is not working. I cannot get it to boot from a dvd or cd. I tried a recovery disc, did not work. I changed the pc to boot from the dvd and that did not work.
If I have it boot normally I get the continous error beeping.
The fact that I am writing this from my 6 year old HP computer makes me rethink my recent purchase of the Lenovo brand.

If you think a windows update caused the problem; are you able to say which update caused the problem?
You could also describe the beep error more precisely before it boots into windows. Or is windows not working at all in normal or safe mode?

Boot Error Sequence

IdeaCentre K210 57078894 works fine until I completely shut it down and restart it. I get errors like Boot Error Sequence, PXE-E53 No boot filename received, PXE-M0F. When I go to the BIOS setup it says Primary IDE not detected. Can anyone help fix this problem?

You might try removing the hard drive and then put it in an external 3.5" USB enclosure and then test it on a different PC. This type of adapter could also be used to test the hard drive on another PC.

Restart and Serial Number

When restarting Vista on IdeaCentre K210, I normally have to "power off" using the power button, or the system hangs
on the "Lenovo" screen. Is there a parameter that controls this?
The serial number in the BIOS is 5555555; should I change it to the correct S/N?

The only way that OneKey would be restored in your situation is by having Lenovo reimage your hard drive. Assuming they will do it under warranty. Once you repartition drive "C", you lose all functionality of OneKey partition. I was going to suggest that you extract the recovery image from the hidden partition but even that will be useless because the image was set up for the original partition setup.
An alternative, is to use an OEM Windows XP [Greek] to install with the COA on the netbook, install the drivers and software that was preinstalled [from Lenovo] and create a recovery cd/dvd using OneKey 6.0 and VirtualCD.
***VirtualCD is a program that allows you to burn CDs and DVDs using a virtual CD/DVD writer.

Yoga 13 recovery software

Hello,
I accidently reformatted my yoga 13 and it seems the onekey partition got wiped with it because the button doesn't work now. I tried to install a clean windows 8 but it kept BSOD-ing even with all drivers installed. Is there a way I can get the recovery files to restore my laptop?

If you didnt create a recovery media before wiping your partition you will have to contact Lenovo and buy recovery discs.
To be sure the partition is not there anymore go to control panel>administartive tools>computer management>storage>disk management.
There you should see many partitions and some labelled recovery partition. If not it means you don't have a recovery partition anymore.

and check what is the value of following reg key, when the issue is present: SetDefault
This key should stay on "1" if the QuickLaunch is activated.
Let me know what is your value, when the issue is present.
Till now I'm not aware of any issue/bug like this.

My TouchScreen is messed up

I have an HP PhotoSmart C4650 All-in-one USB wired to a Lenovo IdeaCentre K210 desktop/tower (Vista 32, SP2). The printer serial # is {Removed for privacy}and the FPU # is Q8418-64001. It works fine EXCEPT: (a) messages on the Touchscreen indicate that it iws waiting for a memory card to be inserted, or for a scan item to be placed face down on the glass. The default I'm used to (until a few days ago) was the touchscreen with three choices: scan, photo and copy. I use the copy commend on the printer but scan from HP Solution Center. I've never done photos, (b) when I attempted a scan it got to showing the preview but wouldn't show the dotted lines and wouldn't show Finish, to click (when the Touchscreen was thinking of photos), and (c) this seems nuts - when I tried to go online to HP.com for help, Windows reported that it couldn't open the webpage.
No real error messages except that the touchscreen wants a memory card, insertion of a scannable item, or it once just printed a blank page when I hadn't touched anything. It beeps and the screen changes on its own.
Changes before the issue? I'm not sure. I had just upgraded PC Tools Registry Mechanic version 11, but their Email Help got me nowhere, I got several problems at that time, including a failure of my OEM VGA cable, which I replaced and it was fine.
Something that may be related is the USB port. My printer is connected in the back of the tower and there are two USB ports in front, When I insert a flash drive the screen that usually says What do you want to do? stopped appearing so I get access through the Computer Folder, but with the Sandisk Cruzer (that apparently has software that speeds it up) the USB ports don't recognize it and don't indicate an available drive letter. The Sandisk website said this is not a Sandisk product.
I uninstalled-reinstalled the printer software and now have the full-feature version installed.

You can't. That's why there is a passcode - if you could "get around it", it would have no value. You can restore the phone and clear the passcode, but you lose the data if you didn't backup before.

I believe that the model that you are referring to is an IdeaCentre K210 5313 (There should be a tag on the case with the model number). If this is correct, you can choose your drivers from the following link.
Please be aware that since you didn't provide the Operating System for your computer, all of them are listed. Make sure you get the one for your needs.

Can't recover from recovery partition with OneKey after disastrous Win 8.1 upgrade

I have a U410 that is only a couple months old. A few days ago I decided to take the plunge and accept the free upgrade to Windows 8.1.
Big mistake.
SInce the upgrade, I've had a slew of problems ranging from programs not running to hard disk integrity checks every time I restart the computer. I've already refreshed the computer (wiping all programs), with no luck. Now I'd like to restore from the recovery partition. However, when I press the onekey button I get the same behavior described here, and can't boot to system recovery mode.
Based on some of the posts in this thread, I gather that any change in the partition sizes pretty much breaks the onekey software, but that sometimes restoring the factory partition sizes can cause it to work again. I haven't knowingly made any changes to the partition sizes, yet looking at disk management I am seeing more partitions than I would have expected (not sure if they were there before the upgrade since I've never looked before). I would like to know if there's any way I can regain access to the recovery partition--and if not, what my best bet is for undoing the damage the 8.1 upgrade did to my OS.

Dang, that's dissapointing. I did see it mentioned elsewhere that recovery discs are only $16 though. I had thought they'd be $100+ or something, so that aint so bad. I'll get on that.
