OneNote 2010 Windows logo key+s in Windows 8.1

The screen clipper function from OneNote 2010 has stopped working in Windows 8.1. Is there any way to either change the short cut key in Windows 8.1 for the search function or the short cut key in OneNote to another key so they do not overlap?

The OneNote clipping shortcut key in Win 8.1 has changed to Windows + Shift + S. If you don’t like this, we can change it to Windows + A by modifying registry.

Uhm as far as I know Operating System of these unit didnt came with product keys, because operating system of this unit is from the manufacturer, And it was never been installed using standalone discs by hp. You might need to order recovery discs online on its support website. as far as I know. Hope you dont mind.

How get VMWare Fusion's internal VPN to pass along the Window's logo key?

I'm also posting this at VMWare Communities, with no replies so far.
VMWare Fusion (5) has an internal VPN, which I find helpful and faster than tunnelling (SSH) into my Mac from somewhere else on the Net, and then using Fusion as usual. With the internal VPN, I go straight to Windows (8), bypass the Mac interface entirely, and that used to be faster to interact with it that way.
Now, having upgraded to Windows 8 (from Vista!), I need the Windows logo key - using the mouse is too slow and inaccurate to call up the Charms bar, for example. Windows logo + C works like a ... charm!
So, tunnelling into my iMac (from afar) and using "Windows logo" keystrokes in Fusion works fine.
But tunnelling directly into Fusion, using its internal VPN (Settings -> Advanced), does not work.
There are several options to set for "Keyboard and Mouse" but I haven't found a combo which works.
Missing anything?

Update: having called VMWare Support, they have reproduced the problem, and temporarily circumvented it by using RealVNC and changing the two "Command Keys" to "Super_L" and Super_R". This has also fixed the absence of right-clicking, although it seems intermittently.

When I re-installed iTunes, it said it did not pass the "Windows Logo" testing for Windows XP. It did not install everything because of this. How do I fix this?

This is why it does not recognize my iPod Classic (it can't sync my iPod because it can't be found). Why does the Windows Logo test fail for Windows XP when trying to re-install iTunes?

On an XP system, that can indicate trouble with the Windows OS dlls associated with Cryptographic services.
I'd first try the fixit from the following Microsoft document.

Hi guys, new to the forum and very much hoping to get help to the following problem:
I'm experiencing a very unusual problem that I've never encountered before nor read about anywhere on the internet. After installing a clean install of Windows 8 on my Dell Inspirion N5050, startup does get past the Dell logo and onto the Windows loading logo.
However, it won't go further than this. The logo goes away, leaving the screen blank (NOT black) and it won't continue to the logon page or start menu. All lights are burning (meaning it's working somewhere underneath that weird blank screen). And the funny
thing is that when I press the power button (or close the lid) to put it to sleep and then wake it up by pressing again, the logon/start menu is there and Windows is working perfectly.
In short: everything works perfectly, except that I have to put the computer to sleep and wake it back up in order for me to see/get into windows.
Has anyone heard of this problem before? I'm so utterly confused here!

Hi,
This issue can be caused by failing to load files or drivers.
First, I suggest you to try to boot into Safe mode, and shut down and power on to see if there is the same issue:
Please use these steps to boot into Safe mode:
Windows key + Run -> Type msconfig, and press Enter -> Under Boot tab, check on “Safe boot” -> Click Ok to restart computer.
To disable boot into safe mode automatically, repeat above steps and uncheck the Safe boot option.
If the issue not persists, please try to disable fast startup to make sure all the drivers were load properly and check the results:

Multimedia Keys in Awesome Window Manager [SOLVED]

I've googled, searched, grepped and scanned about this for weeks, and I think I can't get it working on my own, although I'm sure the right answer is just out there waiting to be found, and one of you brighter minds might just know it already. Right, here's what happens.
I was using openbox, and the keybindings were working just fine. This should probably discard missing symbols or scancodes for the keys, IMHO. Then I switch over to Awesome, and fall in love. The awesome (pun intended) config files by anrxc made it even better, and these days I can't live without my awesome. But I also wanted my volume keys to work. Not like I mind opening a terminal and popping alsamixer... I got 15 of them open all the time anyway. But I still wanted to use the fancy buttons.
The strange thing is, the keys seem to "disappear" as soon as I map them somewhere. I've tried binding them in rc.lua:

pvol.py is a script (made by anrxc too) that does stuff to the volume and displays a cute gtk progress bar to indicate current volume level. Invoking it from the terminal works fine.
I also tried using xbindkeys:

As you can see, they respond to the key codes 121. 122, and 123. Going to a console and running showkey, however, gives me the key codes 113, 114, and 115. I've tried mapping both, and the X11 symbols, with the same result. Below, a sample of xev's output when I bind the keys somewhere (out put for a single key, all result in the same output):

ITunes will not install completely due to Windows Logo Test!

It has been doing this for a few weeks now, and it's only when it tries to install the drivers to my CD/DVD drive. There isn't even a bypass for it provided. I have switched it to ignore the logo test and still it brings the message up every time.
Also, because of it, I get the annoying message every time I start iTunes:
+"Warning! iTunes was not properly installed. If you wish to import or burn CDs, you need to reinstall iTunes."+
I've gone through all the motions of uninstalling it and reinstalling it several times. It hasn't helped at all. Please help! I just want this behind me!
I forgot to mention before that I have been looking EVERYWHERE for a possible answer to this question with no luck, so any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

I've been having the similar problems too. For some reason, I can uninstall iTunes, but when I try to uninstall Apple Application Support and Apple Mobile Device Support, I get the "Could not open key: UNKNOWN/COMPONENTS/etc./ Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel. iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall. Error 7. Windows error 127." error message. I'm on an admin account on Windows 7 and I've tried setting universal permissions through Regedit for the specific keys in question, but nothing works. I'm also missing the dll files required to run iTunes and its associated programs.

My laptop become blue screen after windows logo, after i update the graphic ati and intel driver

I have constant blue screen after windows logo and i have updated all drivers. i was upset the blue screen didn't go away and i did the factory reset. For my suprise, it didn't solve the problem and then i repair it at the comp shop. it was installed with windows 7 home premium 64 (pavilion g4 1006tx) bit as the pre installed windows and activated with the key back on sticker. I updated all drivers and i noticed every time i update the ati and intel driver it will go blue screen after windows logo. after i uninstall it at in safe mode it can load normally. My question is there any solution for my graphic card or is it already damaged? or any other hardware problem? please because i have to use high graphic as i use photoshop

Wrong Windows product key during SP2 installation

Hi all, i have reinstalled the windows XP.
When i try to update the SP2 for the system, mircrosoft told me i am not using a right product key.
Then i follow the instructoin to download a KeyUpdate Tool and i put in the product key which under my notebook, it saids it is not the correct key for the windows that i am using.
At the compare product key site, it shows:
OS Version: Windows XP Professional
Manufacturer: TOSHIBA
Model: Satellite M60
Product Key: *****-*****-*****-*****-P6R2Y
It shows correctly the manufacture and the model.
However, i am using a Windows Xp Home Edition and the key from that CD is end with *****-*****-*****-*****-Q6JWG.
And the product key from my notebook is end up with *****-*****-*****-*****-GCFKM.
Then I download the Windows Product Key Update Tool and put in both the product key from the CD and notebook.
Both of them dosen't work. I want to know how can I update the Service Pack for my windows. Can anyone help? Thx!

I have read some threads about similar problems with the OS key and the key changing has always helped
Sometimes Microsoft rates the image keys as incorrect or invalid. Why? I don't know... it's Microsoft you know ;)
Fact is that the key on the CD cover can be used only to activate the installed Microsoft Works or OneNote software on the notebook. The key is not responsible for the Windows OS!
The key which could be used with Win OS is placed at the bottom of the unit.
Well, according to your message you used this key and now Im a little bit confused
I think you should make a call to the Toshiba authorized service provider in your country for clearing this problem

ITunes Windows Logo Error/not picking up iphone or ipad

Firstly I connected my iphone to iTunes but it did not register, tried my iPad and again didnt register. Repeated numerous times shutting down iTunes and restarting computer. I then uninstalled iTunes and downloaded the new version from Apple. It downloaded ok but when I clicked on the Apple desktop icon it came up with the message "does not meet windows logo testing". It continues to open iTunes but says I can't burn to a cd(not fussed) but more importanlty it still doesn't pick up my iphone or ipad.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Office 2010 Activation in new install of Windows 8.1

I purchased Office 2010 Professional Plus (single user license) several years ago. Installed it on my HP Pavilion dv7 running windows 7. Validated the license and install through Microsoft with no issues I had a genuine install and good license.
Updated to Windows 8 for the low introductory price. No issues with Office 2010 at all. Ran the Windows 8.1 pre-release. Tried to update to Windows 8.1 and it would not update. So, i did a full clean re-install that deleted everything
from my hard drive and Windows 8.1 installed (great update and I love 8.1). Re-installed Office 2010 Pro and when I try to activate it I get the "This product cannot be activated because the product key is not valid. Even tried over the phone.

Normally if you did not make significant changes to your hardware, you were able to reinstall your Office suites in your Computer with no issue.
Cause you get the invalid product keu errors, refer to the article below on troubleshooting invalid product key errors in Microsoft Office:

How to do a CLEAN INSTALL of Windows 8.1 with a Windows 8 OEM Key

I have recently purchased a new C540 that has Windows 8 already installed on it. I would like to perform a clean install of Windows 8.1 on this computer.
This is what I have done so far:
I disabled 3 things in the BIOS: IIRC, they were secure boot, quick boot, and something about "optimized" startup
I have changed my boot priority to put the CD/DVD drive first and any flashdrive 2nd
I have figured out my OEM Windows Product Key (this is for a Windows 8 Core/64 bit OS)
I have setup a flashdrive with Windows 8.1 on it
I tried to boot from the flashdrive...when I get the option to install windows 8.1, I click on it and very quickly get the following error -- "The product key entered does not match any of the Windows images available for installation. Enter a different product key."
I added a PID.txt file with my OEM product key in the Source folder of the Windows 8.1 install....I don't get the above error message immediately, but a screen comes up that asks me to enter a Product Code...my OEM product code (being for W8, not W8.1) does not work while using a generic key (for Windows 8.1 Core) yields the same error message as above and exits the installer.
I then added an EI.CFG file that sets the edition to core, the version to OEM, and the Volume to 0...unfortunately, when trying to install Windows 8.1 it still asks me for a product key before installing...I cannot get past this screen even though (to my understanding) the EI.CFG file should cause the installer to skip asking for a product key...
It is important to me that I get to perform a CLEAN install of Windows 8.1...I do not want to upgrade through windows store...the only keys I have are a W8 Pro Retail key (for my laptop) and a W8 Core OEM key (that came with the new C540)...I am using a flashdrive to perform this since I knew I may have to add/change files like the PID and EI.CFG....
I would appreciate any help I can get in solving this problem...I am also willing to try burning an .iso with the PID and/or EI.CFG, but I'm trying to avoid trial and error with that since it is time consuming, requires an ADK, and may waste DVDs...I'd only make an .iso if (for whatever reason) that would work where a flashdrive woud not...

I have a new SSD drive and need to either migrate my old HD data, including the Windows 8.1 OS or do a a clean install. I have obtained the ISO, prepared the boot for the flashdrive and downloaded the install software. It asks for the product key. I used the suggested BIOS reader and obtained "a" product key off the BIOS and used that it but (as above) it does not recognize the image.
How id I get my single Windows license onto my new SSD HD? Reload, clean install, ???
How do I get the proper product key or confirm it is correct?
It is a new system with little data that I need to copy. I just want the operating system. I have the driver disc that came with it.
