OneNote cannot connect to Windows Live

Hi,
I'm having a problem with OneNote 2010. I want to create a notebook and share it using the "Web" option. However, when I try to connect OneNote to Windows Live, it keeps "connecting to server" for a long time and then reprompts, saying
"Unable to connect to Windows Live". I don't even get the sign-in dialog box.
I've tried the following solutions:
1. Reset IE settings
2. Checked Firewall exceptions
3. Ensured Windows is updated
Some people have bene able to solve the problem by switching off Two-Step Verification, but I haven't turned it on in the first place.
It's vital that I am able to share this notebook with my project researchers, so solutions would be greatly appreciated!

I have the exactly the same Problem. First it started on my Desktop Computer, then two days later i realized the same issue on my Notebook Computer. Logging in on OneNote online, Android- or iOS-Devices works fine.The only special thing on the
day I first realized was that I set up a different computer using Windows 8.1 and the same Windows Live-ID.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Remove log in password for user account connected to windows live

Hi, I had connected my windows live account to my local account, which is running windows 8.1
Now, it is asking me for Live password every-time I have to login to my windows. Is there any way to remove this password? I want to keep my Live account connected, but don't want to enter password every-time I want to login.

When you connect a local account to a Microsoft Account, then the logon password will also be changed to the password of your live account, this is unavoidable, but if you think that typing the password every time is too annoying, then we can use a PIN
instead, move the mouse to the right charm bar\Change PC settings\Accounts\Sign-in options, type four digit number as your password
We can also use autologon tool to automatically logon to the account after you start your machine, but please note that this might cause potential security issue because everyone who get the machine can have access to to your Microsoft Account.

I never had a problem before and have always used Mozilla Firefox as my browser. The Firefox4 also looks different since I changed it. No Google bar in the center, or the Mozilla logo.

You can do a test if it works in Private Browsing mode. In PB mode the disk cache isn't used and also the currently saved cookies are not available.
You can enter Private Browsing mode if you select:
* Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
*Check-mark: [X] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"
Close the Options window and open the Hotmail log in page.
You can remove the check-mark ([ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode") to leave PB mode.
If that works the it is possible that there is problem with the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies in the Firefox Profile Folder.
You can rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete cookies.sqlite-journal and cookies.txt, if they exist, in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

WRT54GS cannot connect to windows media center with xbox360/can stream media from PC to x-box

- running win XP MCE and set up xb 360 on wireless router WRT54GS updated from V1 to V 4.71.4 . PC wired to router and DSL signal goes by wire from wall to modem, router, PC. I can stream media through xbox but not make the WMC connection. I still get the"xbox360 not found on network". I have gone through x-box set up page and installed the setup files. I excluded windows firewall as a problem. I can connect to Xbox live and xbox live/media tests on the xbox run w/o any failures.

When i try to sign in to Windows Live Messenger, I get the meesage "cannot sign you in to messenger. This maybe because your phone is in flight mode or you do not have a data connection. Please check your access point and network settings and try again"
how can i successfully run messenger.

Safari Cannot Work With Windows Live Spaces

I'm using Windows Live Spaces, and I need to change the plug-in in Safari for playing .MP3 files from QuickTime to Windows Media Player since QT plug-in cannot play the background music on my blog.
Besides that, I found that Safari seems not be able to handle some of the codes by Windows Live Spaces. So what should I do? Should I install Windows Systems on my Mac and use Internet Explorer to edit my blog?

It sounds like you're trying to use the old <bgsound> tag for the music...? Try using <object> instead for cross-browser support.

Microsoft have never been too bothered about making things work with non-Microsoft browsers. You may have more luck using [Firefox|www.mozilla.com]. If Internet Explorer is needed (I had a look at the Spaces website but couldn't find anything indicating requirements) then the only way to run that is via Windows.

Unable to connect to Windows Live

Strange problem on my fully upgraded Arch system. Seems I'm able to connect to every website except Windows Live.
I can load live.com and see the login form. Attempting to submit the form (in Chrome) results in a timeout, followed by the error message:
"Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error."
I can log into to the live.com website from other computers in my house, so there's nothing wrong with my ISP.
Attempting to connect to msn in pidgin results in a long wait, followed by: "Connection error from Notification server: reading error".
Here are the relevant sections from my pidgin -d output:

My Pidgin msn connection settings are all at defaults: server: messenger.hotmail.com; port: 1863; use HTTP method: no; http method server: gateway.messenger.hotmail.com; Proxy type: Use Global Proxy Settings.
On my Slackware box, in the same room of my house, Pidgin has the exact same settings and has no trouble connecting to msn.
This problem has persisted at least since yesterday (when I noticed it).
What's going on?
BTW, I should mention that I had successfully used pidgin on Arch Linux just a week ago, with a 2.6.33.7 kernel and a TL-WN321G wifi dongle. Here is photographic proof. Now I have a 2.6.35-ARCH kernel and a TP-Link TL-WN722N, and live.com is not working.

I was using telepathy-butterfly as the backend to connect to MSN,
and it failed.
but if I changed to telepathy-haze (which use the same backend as Pidgin), it works.

8.8 Client cannot connect to Windows Server 2008 error -1102

SAP Business On 8.8 on PL 18
This is not the first time I have had this issue with Windows Server 2008.
however everytime the resolution was diffrent. Now this site is causing trouble.
The issue is the client cannot connect. We have the log on window, can see the company list. type on the password and we get a -1102 error.
The client on the Server itself can log on. It is the cleints that cannot.
I checked these below.
1 SQL Native client is installed and ok.
2. Licence server is configured and ok
3. The user has admin access to locl PC
4. The SAP user name and password are correct ( client on server can connect fine )
5. The ports 1433, 30000 and 30001 are open on the server.
6. Through SQL server configuration the named pipes and TCP are enabled.
7. SQL server browser is running
The only things I have not tried are
The Firewall is running on the server and I have not yet stopped it. Will try that tomorrow.
Do you have any other ideas please ?

I have got this working but I am not confidant of the outcome - yet - I really need your expert advise here.
This is what I did. In that order.
1.     As Owen suggested I checked if there was a specified Port for the instance. What I found was TCP Dynamic ports were enabled ( SQL server config manager | network configuration | tcp properties ) and there was no TCP port specified. Assuming ( ai may be wrong) that the system assigns a dynamic port to this instance I set it up so the Dynamic port does not happen and manually specified the Port 1433. Restarted the SQL Service. ( still having the Port 1433 open in the firewall). This did not solve the issue.
2.     With the above setting still on, switched off the firewall. Went to the PC client and SAP can log on now. Now keeping the SAP client running, switched on the Firewall on the server. Log off SAP on PC client and log back in ( with firewall off ). SAP now can log on.
3.     I had to do the above step for all PCs to get them working.
4. Currently the firewall is on and clients can connect
So what could be happening? I have no clue. It is apparent there is some setting that gets saved within the PCs ( may be user profile) after the first log on with the Firewall off - to say its safe ?
However I have no idea what will happen if the server is restarted u2013 this server we cannot restart any time we want as itu2019s a critical server and runs other things.
I would still like to get to the bottom of this to understand what is happening.
I have a SAP message running too and will ask them this same question.

[Solved]Cannot connect to Windows Share printer over network.

I'm having trouble connecting to a windows printer via Samba/CUPS.
I've loaded the lp module, but I don't know if I need to load the USB or Parallel ports modules, or both or neither, since this is a network print.
My organization has provided some basic instructions for Mac users. Working off of those, I have a setup with the device URI reading

For some reason, the printer reports that it cannot connect to the CIFS share, even though it should be configured correctly.
Even more curiously, I'm able to connect to the share manually with

and then entering my password.
Am I missing something terribly obvious here? I have a sample of logs in debug mode, but they looked okay to me (as well as very verbose), so I won't put them here. I have attached my /etc/cups/printers.conf.

EDIT: Added myself to sys (somehow missed that on the installation) and did some futzing around with the GUI tools. Got some interesting results, but I need to confirm that they work.

Solved.
As it turns out, either CUPS or Samba does not like having special characters in the password inside of /etc/cups/printers.conf. They should be replaced with "%" and the appropriate ASCII hex code for the symbol.

Not known any alternatives yet. Goolge+ has some sort of function for real time videocalls, which runs on browser, without need to install anything on the background. But it's not same as Skype and it doesn't support wireless handsets.
I think there's a lack of fast working instant messenger for now. Some skilled programmers could create new P2P instant messenger to replace Skype.
Here's some ideas for it (anyone can feel free to use them):

I am sitting infront of a light blueish screen with two options: Already Skype-User? ----- New to Skype (translated from german)

Cannot connect to CS Live

on every CS Live sservice (including this one), I've been trying to connect to the CS Live Service (including CS Review), but it says "There's a problem connectint to our severs". I've clicked on "Manage My Acount", but all of a sudden, the link is broken, in fact, almost ALL of the links are broken when ive contacted support. Plus, I can't log out and log back in CS Live, because there's NO Log out button in the CS Live button. Any idea why? and How can I fix it? PS, Im running Windows 7 Pro; 32-bit

OKAY...GOT IT WORKING! Here's the fix the Adobe folks provided me that worked.
Do you have any firewall, network filter, or other security software installed on your system?
If so, please do the following (for each program, if you have more than one):
1.                   Open the security software.
2.                   Either (A) temporarily disable the program or (B) ensure that the rules/settings in the software will allow the CS5.5 software to access “*.adobe.com” (if you are familiar with configuring the rules/settings).
3.                   Quit and then restart your CS5.5 software. Test if Kuler is working. (Note that you may be prompted to activate the software at this point. If you are, please complete the activation.)
If security software is not the cause of the issue, then next you should check the “hosts” file on your computer. This file is used to help route network traffic from your computer; however, it may contain one or more erroneous entries that are causing this issue.
To do so:
1.                   Ensure you are logged into an administrator account.
2.                   Click Start > All Programs > Accessories.
3.                   Right-click on Notepad and choose Run As Administrator. If prompted to “allow” or “continue” or enter a password, choose the appropriate option to start Notepad with administrative rights.
4.                   In Notepad, choose File > Open, and navigate to the following location:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
5.                   Open the file called hosts.
6.                   Look for any entries in this hosts file that mention Adobe.
If you find any, delete that entire line from the file.
(You will almost always only see entries for “localhost” in the hosts file, but rarely should anything else be added to this file.)
7.                   When you have removed all mention of Adobe from this file, save and close the file.
8.                   Quit Notepad.
9.                   Restart your computer.
After restarting the computer, open your CS5.5 applications and try to use Kuler.
Note that, because activation has been blocked up to this point, you may need to select Help > Deactivate, restart the application, and then activate the software when prompted. You may instead be prompted to activate the software when you next open it, in which case simply follow the on-screen instructions to activate.

IOS app 8.1.4 cannot connect to windows 7 pro through windows 2008 RDP gateway since app update

we use Microsoft multi factor auth and radius for 2nd factor auth and that is working but the security log on the windows 7 pc shows that the app is sending the gateway machine login not the user credentials
all works fine using windows remote desktop client and worked perfectly before the app update

From your description it seems that you can remote connect before upgrading to latest version. Here suggest you to try reinstalling the app and check the result. Also see whether you can find any useful log for this issue.
In addition also please check by bypassing RD Gateway server and see whether you can connect to it.

Cannot connect in windows on macbookpro

Hello people.
just bought a mac book pro.
Installed windows xp via bootcamp, everything ok.
But when i try to connect to the internet on windows, it can not as there is no ip addres.
It connects to my wireless network, but then again no, as it says it can not get ip address.
My mac system connect fine..what is the problem ? Anybody .....
