OneNote MS apps for Belle/N8

There were big expections for the apps from MS such as OneNote etc. coming for the N8. Where are they and hos long must we wait for MS/Nokia to react on our just demands?

Since I bought an official Italian 701 thinking that a native Belle phone would have been included in the enabled ones, I have to say the above statement is untrue, or misleading at least... Not to mention the lack of a support page for the 701 on Nokia Italy's web site, or the recently discussed issues about compatibility reinstalling Belle FP1 via NSU or Nokia Suite on the 701 itself. But these rants belong to other threads.

For which Phone? If you have N8, E6 or 500, the update will be rolled out at a later stage.... Remember that the updates are rolled out by region, still don't have it myself on my N8...

If you read the Reviews for the Application (at the MarketPlace) it seems that the application is not yet compatible with WP8. You may need to contact the Developer or wait for an Update ...

Office Apps for Belle Devices ?

Can anyone tell me whether will we be able to get FIRST batch of office apps 'promised' by nokia for new belle devices like 700,701 or are they breaking their promise again and we will have to wait till february?

The upgraded OS 4.5 contains free versions of DocumentsToGo, WordToGo, SheetsToGo and SlidesToGo.
The premium purchased version includes a nice PDF viewer.

Screen Capture app for 808 Pureview

I would like some recommendations for a screen capture app for Belle FP2 before the Opera takeover of Ovi Store.
What I have found doesn't seem to be updated for it. Like Best Screen Snap. Also, what is a decent QR Scanner app?

Maybe it was never updated for the Pureview? There should be a contact email address when visiting the .mobi page in a desktop browser - or use the form on http://3gvision.com/ContactUs.html if you want to investigate it.

There is a huge number of apps for Symbian.
Up to about 2010 it was the leading operating system in smartphones.
What Nokia don't have is the Apple IOS type of well organised app shop. A lot of Symbian app developers sold their apps directly, and a lot have withdrawn the apps from the shop for some bizzare reason. Those in the latter group who don't sell them directly are a problem and you have to google for the .sis file and eventually you will find one that installs.
Both the Nokia app shop and the Apple app shop are 95% useless garbage, however, and that will always be the case for smartphones because there are loads of app developers who think they are going to get rich by writing some near-useless app and selling a million of them for €0.50 each.

That's interesting. Can you post the date my phone is going to stop working? With 26,746 posts you are probably well connected and know the exact date.

Cannot open file in Onenote client from within OneNote Web App

I am facing a peculiar problem with One note.
Environment: - SP2013 Enterprise with separate Office Web Apps server
I can view/edit onenote files on OneNote web app without any issue but when I click "Open in OneNote" button, I get the error that "onenote cannot open the specified location..."
Other office documents like word and excel work fine, only onenote has this issue.
Any help is much appreciated

We may try to use the Network Monitor tool to capture the network traffic for bothe problematic site and working site when reproducing this issue, and then read the traffic to find out the differences between them. To capture the traffic, start capturing
first, then click the “Open in OneNote” button.

Socket Demo works for Bell but not Verizon?

Why does the same Socked Demo (sample from RIM JDE 4.5.0) work perfectly for Bell Mobility Blackberry 8830 (World Edition) and does not work for identical Verizon device (throws “Unable to open connection”)? Here is the sample code:

Plug-in or app for creating slo-mo?

Last year I came across a bunch of YouTube clips demonstrating a plug-in or app for creating slow motion from regularly shot material - 24-30 fps. The plug-in or app was able to someone how extrapolate all the missing frames to get quite a spectacular slo-mo effect. I've lost the URL I thought I had so carefully saved.
I'm receiving a whole bunch of footage I have to edit into a film. The original shooting is erratic, sometimes good, sometimes quite unprofessional. I need to be able to manipulate the speed of the shots, slow them down or speed them up. The plug-in or app I remember would have been perfect.
Does this ring a bell for anyone? Any suggestions would be most appreciated...

Did I say 'spectacular'? I'd settle for modestly elegant, or even competent. You are absolutely right David B. I'm not looking to improve things like really bad exposure, noise, etc. But a pan that's two fast for the tempo of a sequence? ... a little slowing, a bit of 'smoothcam' and suddenly the shot looks 'professional' instead of amateur. I just did a couple of tests using only the speed control in the motion tab of FCP and was pleasantly surprised. Is the 'speed' control in the motion tab any different than the 'Change Speed' function (Command J)?
This is a feature film and they plan on a theatrical release. So something like Twixtor might be the answer for the best quality we can generate, given the limitations of the original media. But...
David H, if the only thing I'm really needing is very clean slow-mo (given the limitations of the original media), but not super super slow-mo, would the Optical Flow in Motion give me more-or-less the same quality as Twixtor? That would be pleasant.

Viatun, HotSpot Shiled for Belle FP2 devices

Hallo all!
I am frm place where internet gets blocked on regular basis. This is not a problem for Android firends as they use bypass apps like HotSpot shield, Viatune etc. which are not available for Belle FP2.
Can anyone help with solution? Mainly I need info on reliable and not expencive VPN provider and step by step instructions how to set it up on Nokia 808 PV.
Switching to Android is last option - pls do not offer it I read this too much on other forums.

My friend. I have a similar problem, and to my great disappointment in Nokia's VPN set very complex task. need to register there specifically create a profile with VPN. as you now know it is very difficult. I used to use a proxy server, which would bypass the blockage in my country, but even now it is no longer helping. Himself at the moment I think to pass on Android the more that support Symbian already terminated.

In the last few days the OneNote web app has stopped working, no diagnostic info, just does nothing.

I have a M/S OneNote public file on SkyDrive. I can no longer access this from my PC, the OneNote web app appears not to work any longer. It worked fine for weeks. There is no diagnostic information, it just hangs. I can access the file from my iPad.

I can access the file from M/S internet explorer on my PC.. So it looks like some problem between Firefox and the OneNote web app. The problem was there on FF25 it is still there on FF26

"My Verizon" app for Blackberry Storm WARNING!

Hello fellow BB/Verizon customers...
I wanted to post a warning about the "my verizon" app for the Blackberry. This app will post payments to your account even when it says it DID NOT process your payment. This is a HUGE problem. The BIGGER problem comes after that though. Upon calling Verizon customer service(to ask them to credit back the double posted payment), I was told "Once the payment is processed, we cannot credit it back to you." THIS IS THE WORST BILLING ANSWER I HAVE EVER RECEIVED! I mean even your neighborhood snow cone stand can process a credit back to your account. They were not helpful. The customer service rep refused to put a manager on the line and then got snippy with me because I kept asking for a manager. I never got a manager on the line and ended up hanging up on the idiot cs rep. I have worked in software programming for over a century and have worked on credit card processing systems more times than I can count. Even the most archeac cc systems have a way to process a credit. You can't lie to me and tell me you can't process a credit. You're just too LAZY to do it or you just want to keep the money that your app STOLE from me. Please beware and DO NOT USE THIS APP! My contract is over in a month and this has prompted me to go back to T-mobile where I was always treated with full respect. I'm so sorry I ever moved to Verizon. To anyone working for Verizon that might read this, I posted this on my personal facebook page and my bands facebook page to let my thousands of friends and fans know NOT to use Verizon. I have already gotten replies from about 20-30 people who said that they will be dropping Verizon asap. Your customer service needs an overhaul and your billing system that CAN'T process credits was left back in the late 70's. You need to figure these things out or suffer the consequences of losing subscribers to people with better customer service like T-mobile and AT&T.
P.S. The Verizon HUB is a ripoff. Don't buy into it. A rotary phone works better than that {word filter avoidance}.

My new Blackberry Tour 9630 (3/2010) conked out last weekend so they sent a "replacement". A reconditioned
replacement! I got the same cs bull as you while they explained "policy".
My policy is I paid for a NEW one just 3 months ago and the replacement should be a NEW one or I'll go to another carrier.
Cincinnati Bell and AT&T might not be at the top of the service heap but I won't be screwed by these people.
Two phones and a long time relationship apparently aren't of interest to them!

3rd part subtitling apps for the mac

Can anyone recommend a good 3rd party subtitling app for the Mac, preferably free? OR if all else fails a free PC app?
I am looking at Bell Nuit, but from reading their material I can only get graphical files, instead of a single subtitle file.
This is my first project with DVD Sp and of course it involves subbing 10 minutes of conversation heavy video, so if you have any tips I would greatly appreciate those, and I look forward to being part of this great board!

You can always subtitle directly in DVD-SP (though it 's not recommended it might be appropriate in this case with a short film).
STL Edit is probably the cheapest Mac solution. On the PC there is Subtitle Workshop which is free...
