Online application generates blank pdf

I'm filling several online applications through a common online entity that generates a pdf for review; it worked once and then it only produces a blank page.
I have used windows and mac based computers; I have used three different browsers on each and in some cases it does not even generate the blank pdf, just spins endlessly.
I have contacted the entity that runs the online application with no response thus far. Other people in similar process have not found the same problem.
Once it worked and then stopped. I reinstalled the reader in my computer and worked again once; I tried the same again to no avail.
Im running out of time to send the applications and running desperate with no solution to this problem
Any help would be appreciated.

why do you use Data Modeler 2.0 - There is Data Modeler 3.0 and also 3.1 EA2 is available. I'll recommend you to go with Data Modeler 3.1 EA2.

Rwrun.sh generates blank PDF file on AIX

We are using Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 on AIX
Application Server 10.1.0.2.0 on AIX
I have executed the following command on AIX to generate my report in PDF format
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/rwrun.sh report=rba14.rep userid=eoc/eocuat01@eocuat01 server=rep_faydev desformat=pdf destype=file desname=hassan.pdf
but a blank pdf file generated.
Unable to find the reason:

Hi Leilam,
I suggest you lower the amount of pages you are printing to PDF and combine the separate documents later. Try creating a 20 page PDF file first and if it works print the next 20 and so on. In the end you have 5 - 20 page documents, which you can then combine in Acrobat and save the resulting file accoringly. Check how much hard drive space you have (maybe it's getting low) and I also you:
Repair permissions regularily, run a utility such as MacJanitor or Cocktail to clean up your machine. Creating a large PDF file requires both RAM and available HD space that the MAC needs to use as a Spool or temporary storage space. ie: if the resulting PDF is 100 Mgs, the OS requires a little more than double that space before you begin to create the file.
if the above fails, try deleting the Preferences and rebooting to clean out the RAM.

One page reports generating blank PDFs

We have reports using DESFORMAT=PDF that appear blank if the resulting report is a single page, AND Acrobat 5.0 is configured to display PDF's within the browser.
We are having no problems seeing multiple page reports. And... these 1-page reports display normally when launched outside the browser. Does this problem sound familiar to anyone?
We would like to be able to view these one page PDFs WITHIN the browser to avoid having to show every user how to reconfigure Acrobat.
Any clues on this topic will be helpful, thanks.

Jeff, we had the same problem and the only solution we could find that consistently worked was to open the pdf in a separate window.

Reader X "opens" a pdf file online as a blank page. Why? Using vista.

While opening a routine bank statement (pdf) online today, I was prompted to delete Acrobat since it was no longer working, and to go to acrobat.com. I did so (I did not download any of the acrobat versions as a financial decision). At this point I was no longer able to open the pdf file. I updated Adobe Reader to Reader X. Still no luck. I tried the repair feature. No luck. I deleted Reader X and reinstalled it. No luck. The pdf still comes up as a blank page. I tried all but the most technical fixes on the Reader help and support site. No luck. I also deleted Acrobat Air and downloaded the latest version. I'm not a whiz at this, but it doesn't take a whiz to know Reader X ain't a-workin. Online tech support with Adobe couldn't solve the proplem. What kind of product is this Reader X? Help!!!

Things are still not right online with Wells Fargo/Adobe pdf's. I have uninstalled all versions of Adobe Reader, AIR, and Flash Player, and have downloaded the new versions. I did the flash player a few minutes ago when trying to watch a YouTube video sent via email and I received a prompt telling me I needed to upgrade Adobe Flash Player.When I access the list of Bank statements for what I call my main account ( I have two checking, two savings, and one Visa accounts with this bank) the list of ten or so monthly accounts for this "main account" appears. I can click on any one of them, get a blank pdf, click on the refresh button, then the pdf appears; one of the savings accounts is on this same statement.
If I bring up the other checking account or the other savings account, the only entry on the monthly list that pertains to that account is the second one on the list. All the other months are still from the "main account". I can bring up any of those monthly pdf's via the refresh button route.
The Visa account monthly list is good, but I have to click on refresh to view the pdf.
The pdf statements from US Bank work fine.

Creating an online application form with generated user number

I administer a site for a multi-sport competition. I have
been asked to include online applications this year, with the
following stipulation. The games organizer wants participants to be
able to apply online, and after their application has been sent
wants some sort of identifier, such as a confirmation number at a
hotel, which is then returned to the applicant to confirm their
application was successful, and which they would then print off and
send in with their payment.
I have no problem getting the form completed for the
application, or in getting the "thank you" email sent back. How
would I create the confirmation number and have it linked to the
application? Would this be done through a database rather than a
simple form?
Any guidance is appreciated, especially in the form of
tutorial links for similar actions.

Automate generating savable PDF document

I have a following situation: I have a web-application for filling of some documents by online, this application have functionality for generation PDF with form of the filled document. It is necessary for me, that I could generate PDF files with saved forms for filling by offline with further sending on server of my application. Besides, when I try to distribute this PDF file by Acrobat Pro, I receive forms at which there is a button of form sending by e-mail. Even if I created the sending button by URL, it is all the same substituted on sending by e-mail. Therefore I wish to learn, whether probably to realise the following:
1) Creation saved PDF files with forms software. (I have known only about creation XDP of files and their conversion in saved PDF by means of Reader Extension).
2) If the first variant is not realised, I want to known about possibility of usage "Distribute form" Acrobat Pro for creation saved PDF files without change existing "Submit" sending buttons by URL.

How to preserve a background color, when generating a PDF file

I am trying to create a PDF file from some application. Please note that the picture in this application has the black background. So I invoke a Print command and set a printer as "Adobe PDF". As a result, I have generated
a brilliant PDF file of my picture, but on the WHITE background. When selecting the Adobe PDF printer, I have looked through all its settings ( in the Adobe PDF settings, I have found several tabs: General, Images, Fonts, Color, Advanced, PDF/X), none of them generated the original background color.
So how can a generate a PDF file, having the original background color (black, in my case) ?

Now I feel that the background definition in the Adobe PDF printer and the background definition in the application the Adobe PDF printer is invoked from -- two different things. So I guess how can I define the black background in the Adobe PDF printer? I cannot find such settings.

In my ABAP program, i am able to see the spaces at the end of the recors in debug but when download to applicaiton server i am not able to see those spaces.

Getting error in Portal "Error while generating the PDF" for BI Report

Hi Experts,
we are gettign the error while trying to generate the PDF file from the Reports.
Earlier it was working fine Adobe Reader 8 , currently we have upgrated Adobe Reader 9 in our system.
After this upggradation browser "*Failed to open PDF in Browser"*
Could you please suggest me how to diagnostic the error. Do we need to configre something in the Portal or in the Backend BI system for this.

Generating a PDF in Web Dynpro without using InteractiveForms

What I'll like to achieve
1) User logs on to the system and a table displaying a list of items for approval appears.
2) the user is then able to select a row item from the table and click on 'approve'. In doing so, my application should generate a pdf form in the background and attach it as an email attachment and sent that email to an appointed vendor.
Problem
As there is no InteractiveForm involved, I do believe I will need to provide the template (.xdp) so that the PDF can be generated. In the tutorial, it suggests doing this (I modified it a little to reflect my own path name):

Hi Kwok Wei ,
According to the convention the any file can be placed in the src/mimes/Components/<component package + component name>/folder of your webdynpro project along with other generated files of your application.
After this you just need to pass the filename to the getResourcestream() method,it automatically picks up the file from the folder.

Report Builder 10 Crashing while generating to pdf

I can get a report to show all the pages in previewer mode.
However, when attempting to generate to pdf, report builder crashes at random times. Not at just one page, but whenever it feels like it.
Report is 4,000 pages, but I've ran 15k page to pdf before. And it is NOT the report, it crashes on all reports.
We've had some recent windows security updates pused to us recently, but that is it as far as system changes go.
Environment:
Win XP, SP3
Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.7.0 - 64bit Production

Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2That is the base version of Developer Suite that you can download on OTN. I would at least start with upgrading to the latest patch, especially since you connect to an 11g database.
Another thing: do you have this problem in Reports Builder, or on the application server? Latter case: check your AS version against the certification matrix too.

How do I get rid of blank pdf windows that appear in mission control? My adobe acrobat program isn't even open.

Everytime I go into mission control I see blank pdf windows. I can't get rid of them except when I restart my computer. Otherwise I have to put them all into 1 desktop in mission control so they don't clutter my other desktops. The windows only appear in mission control and not in the actual active desktop. I've tried closing any open application that uses pdfs but that doesn't help. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

I came to the problem this morning with a fresh perspective and have solved the problem: I realized the text was in Cambria, so I changed it to the dependable Times New Roman. I created the PDF and NO pound signs appeared scattered around in the PDF.

Generate a PDF export and getting the file or the bytestream to modify it

I have a web dynpro application and want to get the bytestream or the PDF file itself.
Is there a function (RFC, J2EE-Method, ABAP methode/class) where I can say
"Hey function, generate a PDF export of a BI report and save the PDF file somewhere in the KM or return the bytestream of the PDF"
I must be able to define following parameters
-BI template name
-values for the selection mask (the same as the BEx BI-Commands to prefill a field in the selection mask)
-KM path + filename (if the function saves the file in the KM)
What I already tried:
Broadcast to KM
I can start the broadcast automatically using the report RSRD_BROADCAST_STARTER. But the problem is that I can't generate a broadcast setting and so I'm not able to define the filename and selectionmask data dynamically.
Package RSRD
When you enter the transaction SE80 and look for the package "RSRD" there are a lot of interesting classes and methods. But I couldn't figure out how to call them to generate a PDF export of a BI report.
FM RSADOB_PDFREPORT_GENERATE
This function module have all the parameters I wish. The problem is that it does not work anymore. It's just an internal test for the SAP guys themselves.
So ...
Have anybody an idea how to solve this?

Like you said.. steps are simple and clearly mentioned in guide.
1. create a variable of type string
2. after configuring the file adapter , go to corresponding receive activity , go to properties tab
3. search for a property with name as jca.file.FileName . This basically keeps track of file name
4. for this property, give the value as name of variable created in step 1 above
5. Use this variable anywhere in assign / transform
