Online Download of ITunes won't run

Hey guys,
If anyone out there could help me out, I'd appreciate it soooooo much.
Ok so I just got an IPOD nano (2nd generation) for Xmas. & I went to download ITunes (the new 7.0 version), & I downloaded the file. However, every time I attempt to run it, an error message pops up that says,
'the publisher could not be verified'
& '... is not a valid Win32 application.'
I downloaded it with dial up, so that may be the problem there, but anyone have any other idea of what the problem could be?

I would try reinstalling iTunes to see if that will correct the issue. Follow this article and you will not loose your music.

You appear to be able to backup your contacts without iTunes. Google "backup iphone contacts without itunes".
The way to avoid having to get a tech person in is to get past the idea that your problem (which you still haven't defined) is "beyond my ability to fix". ;-)

I'm running Windows Vista 32 (I know, I should upgrade) and over the last few weeks, I noticed that my podcast wasn't downloading new eps. Now, iTunes won't run at all.
I've done a full scan of the PC and there are no viruses found. I'm using Kaspersky.
I've un-installed all Apple apps and rebooted before trying to reload iTunes and it never runs.
Anyone have any idea what might be preventing iTunes from running?
I have a Windows 7 PC on the other desk, connected through the same switch and Cable Modem and iTunes is running fine on it, so it's not network / internet related, as far as I can tell.

Let's just run through the standard procedures for that one again, just to be sure.
first, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. if it goes, good. if it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to itunes.
next, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. Then use it to clear any existing itunes and/or QuickTime installation configuration information from the PC. (Launch CleanUp, find any iTunes and/or QuickTime entries in the list of programs in CleanUp, and remove those entries.)

next, use the the following document as a guide for manual removal of leftover itunes and quicktime program files:

now try another itunes install. does it go through properly this time?
(If any step of this procedure failed to work, explain to us as best you can what the problem was.)

How does it show up in your library if it's not there?

I downloaded iTunes to Windows XP successfully, but it won't run when I attempt to open it. Nothing happens. My iPod should arrive in a week and I want to have iTunes prepared to transfer songs ASAP!

I downloaded the iTunes exe and tried to run it but it gives me Visual C++ buffer error. I have also tried to uninstall quicktime and install it again but it gives me a fatal error during the uninstallation process from "Add/Remove programs" option. It also gives me 0000b7a4 Offset Error when i try to run the iTunes. I have just bought a 5th Generation Video iPod and want to use iTunes to upload some songs on the iPod. What should I do? I have done all the things possible to run iTunes and uninstall quicktime but it doesnt seem to work. Please help!

Itunes won't run since downloaded 7.2

itunes was working fine until I installed 7.2 now it says "can't run due to a problem with audio configuration. I uninstalled it and reinstalled and it did the same thing. Now I have lost everything I have on itunes.

that's typically caused by a problem with your QuickTime. (iTunes uses QuickTime for audio and video playback.)

TS3297 updated iTunes won't run on iMac OS X 10.6.8

I have the updated iTunes 11.0.3 and OS X 10.6.8 but now my iMac won't let me open iTunes as it says it is not supported. My Mac is a late 2006 and so, I cannot download OS Mountain Lion (if that is a potential solution), so I don't know how to get iTunes to open now. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features(Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

Itunes won't run in my windows media center

I have installed the latest version of itunes on my windows media center PC (HP pavilion a1320in ). when I launch itunes it does not start and says there is an error and would send the report to MS.........
any solutions? any patches to be downloaded?

the first thing that i check for when people report getting that message when they try to launch their itunes is a broken QuickTime.
try to open your QuickTime. does it launch properly, or do you get an error message?
if you get an error message, the first thing we'll try is a careful standalone QT 7.1 reinstall.
download and save a copy of the QT 7.1 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.

if that install goes through okay, does your itunes launch properly again?
(if you get an error message on the QT standalone reinstall, let us know what it says. include error message numbers if you're getting any.)

I updated to the latest iTunes, and now iTunes won't run at all

I downloaded the newest update, and now iTunes won't open at all. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and emptying my "temp" folder, but to no avail. Any ideas?

Well, I fiddled around with things more, and now it's running. I think what made it work was by going to All Programs, where I saw Apple Software Update. I ran that, and it seemed to do the trick. I hope this helps other people with the same problem.

ITunes won't run on Windows 7: Quicktime not found. .. But Quicktime works!

Installed latest version of iTunes 10 on a Windows 7 64-bit PC. Occasionally iTunes runs, but usually it gives the error: "Quicktime was not found. Quicktime is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again".
I have done this about 3 times, making sure to uninstall everything apple (itunes, quicktime, bonjour, etc.) Once I even followed a recommendation to delete all application data and reinstall. Rebooting, etc.
Quicktime runs absolutely fine.
I even tried repairing quicktime, installing quicktime by itself after iTunes was installed. No luck. Any ideas???

I've downloaded the iTunes installation file and tried to install or repair 3 times but keep getting a message that a required component is not installed (-45075).
Just in case the component being referenced is not part of iTunes but is rather part of one of the other related programs, it might be worth trying a complete uninstall/reinstall of iTunes and related componentry, as per the following troubleshooting document:

I have recently updated iTunes to 10.5, and now it won't run/open at all. Gives me an error and doesn't even open it at all. I have tried everything apple says to do but nothing has worked so far. When I started my iTunes earlier today (after a long time of not using it), I got a message saying that my current version (6, I think) was outdated and that I should upgrade to the newest version which is 7 (I think.) So I did that and now iTunes will not run at all! I keep getting a message saying something very similar to "QuickTime version 7.1 is installed; iTunes requires QuickTime 7.1.3 or higher; reinstall iTunes." So I have re-downloaded iTunes+QuickTime v. 7.1.5 several times and reinstalled, but I keep getting that same message. I can run QuickTime 7.1.5 which is definitely installed on my computer, but iTunes doesn't seem to recognize it. Meanwhile, I have no iTunes and my iPod which was being updated continues to display :do not disconnect." Please Help

let's try swapping out your QuickTime using a slightly different technique.
head into your Add/Remove programs. uninstall QuickTime.
Next, we’ll manually remove any leftover program files and folders.
1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
3. Open Program Files.
4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx.
7. Restart your computer.
next, we'll get a fresh copy of QuickTime into your PC by doing a repair install of itunes.
switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the repair install.
go into Add/Remove and select itunes. click "Change" and then click "Repair".
if the repair install goes through okay, restart the PC and try launching itunes again. does it launch properly now?
