Hello, I am new to online editing. I will online an HD project ( ProRes compression ) and I would like to know what are the maximum value ( on final cut vectorscope ) of each color ( R,Y,G,Cy,B,Mg ) to be broadcast safe?
Second, is reducing the saturation value with limit effect in the 3 way color-corrector the only way to reduce chroma value?? The broadcast safe filter is not doing it. I don't have any plug-in.
I am using Final Cut Pro 6.0.1

if you're asking these kind of questions on a internet forum then yu're in way over you're head.
i could give you the specific answers that you looking (no doubt someone will) but it wont really help you

Has anyone tried to use the Online Edition of Quickbooks and Tiger?

I work from home as an editor. My employer has just set up payroll using the Online Edition of Quickbooks. When I tried to to login I got this message from Quickbooks:
"For business and tech reasons we designed Online Edition specifically to run on Windows. We do not offer an alternative version at this time. Customers have reported using a PC emulator, such as Microsoft's Virtual PC, to run Online Edition on their Macs. This may decrease application performance in terms of speed. We encourage you to research this approach to see whether it will work for you."
Has anyone tried this?
Also, they set up Online Edition to run with Internet Explorer. I use Safari.

i donot know the server he used in his example. All you need is to
replace the server deployment descriptors he used to weblogic descriptors. then rebuild. go to admin tool--localhost:7001/console
and login with weblogic as username and password
then on ejb you can then deploy the ejb.read on the console.

Problem in Online Editing

Hi Team,
I have created one html file in the local system and uploaded in to KM. And i tried editing the file online, but i got the below error.
System Error
An Exception Occurred during the program Execution.
Go back and try again.
But in my view there two possibilities this error could have occurred.
1) file is created in the local system, and uploaded to portal
2) That html file is not properly created with html tags ( But it opens when i open the html file in IE).
so, i found one document in help.sap.com (You can only use the HTML editor to edit HTML files that you created online. If you edit an HTML file locally, you will not be able to edit it with the HTML editor later on(From help.sap.com - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/e6/62f8cb7afd764e9600360257202bc1/frameset.htm )
But, after i created the file using HTML Editor in portal, if i try to edit the document locally, then i saved it, after i opens the same document in Online Editing it works fine.
Can any one help, what exactly the problem in editing online and how we can overcome this issue.

I tried the same process of creating file at local system and uploading it in KM documents. When I tried editing that file, I didnt get the error, instead I got the following message.
This HTML file can contain HTML features that the HTML Editor does not support. You may consider editing the source using the Text Editor instead in order to avoid unintended changes that the HTML Editor might cause.
and below the message there were two buttons, HTML editor and Text editor, for editing the document.
It might be because the HTML document created locally are not supported by HTML editor.

PS: HTML file was created using notepad and saved as "test.html".

Disabling document downloads while allowing for online editing.

With IRM I know that you can prevent documents from being downloaded as well as printed, but whenever I do so, it disables the ability to edit the document. Is it an integrated setting where I can only have both or neither? I am not concerned
with people obtaining the data through online editing, but rather just removing the save/download option so it lowers the chance of user error. The people are trained and informed, I just want to limit the chances of sensitive data being accidentally
downloaded.

That should be possible in 2013 with Office Web Apps. This is the guide for Office 365 but I think you can configure the same settings with on premise.

Offline/Online Edit for xdcam footage

I am using Sony F3 camera and Sony FS100 footage with final cut 7. Both have different format, One use XDCAM and other use AVCHD. I didn't have any problem transcoding F3 footage in its native form and FS100 footage in Prores LT for offline edit.
I wanted to edit both in proRes LT as offline edit. I was also able to convert both footage in ProRes LT and edit it.
But the problem arised when i was reconforming for online edit. I wanted to connect both as ProRes HQ. My offline footage was able to reconnect with both but for XDCAM it connected to native instead of proRes. Is there way to connect it to ProResHQ?

Yeah. Take the native stuff offline. Disconnect the drive the files are on. If they are on the same drive as the HQ...separate them.

How to enable online editing of Adobe Illustrator document on SharePoint 2010 ?

Folks,
I have installed SharePoint 2010 and have enabled CMIS (on SharePoint). Does Adobe products have CMIS enabled as well ? Basically I want to enable online editing of Adobe files (Illustrator) on SharePoint 2010.

On SharePoint 2010, there is a Digital Asset Library where I uploaded images. If I upload a MS-Paint aware images such as jpeg, I can click edit on it directly. I can also save it directly into SharePoint.
How do I do the same for *.ai files ?

im trying to figure out how to move a project from my imac to macbook pro when i travel, then when i get back home i can finish it out on my imac. Offline online editing.

You could make the project and event on an external drive and move the drive from machine to machine.

Project Online Edit Schedule Permissions

I'm using Sharepoint Groups for Project Online, and for some reason when a user is in the Owners group (full control) of a project, he can edit the schedule, but when I put him in a custom group, Managers (ALSO with full control), Edit schedule is greyed
out. Just for fun I deleted the OOTB owners group in one project now ONLY site collection admins can edit the project schedule. Any help appreciated.

If you are using SharePoint Permission Mode, you could not create additional custom group. If you need more management of your user permissions, you could change to Project Permission Mode.

Project Online, editing a user/resource: The User Logon Account always displays an error

New Project Online account. I changed the security mode from SharePoint to Project Server but I believe this was happening prior to that change. All resources are selected to be associated to a user account. This happens in both Resource
Center and Manage Users.
Every time I go to edit a resource, the User Authentication section contains the error "Multiple entries matched, please click to resolve.". I am unable to edit the user without first deleting the entry and selecting the same user name again. Only
one user ever comes up in the dropdown options and it always allows me to then save that resource record.
Please advise. I would like to have an answer before I hand this off to the PMO administrator who will be managing resources.

Dreamweaver online editing CMS

Hi folks!
Im a graphic designer and started creating website using Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.
I bought this powerfull adobe program recently after im a great fan of photoshop, premiere, and after effects.
My problem is:
My clients would like to edit their website easily. As in a cms system kinda way they mean.
But i have NO idea how to do this easily. I digged the web for SO much information and im
really against the wall right now. Why doesnt adobe have a simple plugin that goes along with you webfiles,
so you can edit content online in a easy matter? Im rather disappointed...

For God sake, is there a way for my clients to JUST edit their posts in the NEWS section?
And i really dont feel the need to go through all this Wordpress templates editing/Drupel....adobe contribute stuff.
I really dont. There must be an easier way...fine, if they want to use Wordpress, that totally fine, but ONLY the post section in the news content area.
Not convert my website completely to wordpress...that doesnt make sense.

The problem with this is that while adobe makes great products that accomodate the novice to the master coder/user, those products are not open software and free for distribution. Contribute I think is part of several "package suits" and used to manage websites, but of course its not free. Therefore the client would need to purchase that program as well to maintain their own site.
You can set up editable regions in your DW pages that allow clients to ONLY be able to edit those particular areas of the page, but I would assume they'd need DW themselves to take advantage of this feature.
Wordpress, and other CMS's like it are designed for clients to manage their own sites and is free to use, modify, and distribute. You can set up and design a wordpress site within dreamweaver just like any project, then have the wp admin set up for the end client so they can edit their content.
I understand your client wants JUST to edit a particular section of their site, and you really dont want to convert the site to a wp site, but I'm not sure there is any other option. There are sites like moonfruit, but you're limited to using their own proprietary templates and servers and cant take it with you if you later decide to move. I've "designed" one of these types sites, and its ok...not really fully customizable as some, but it makes it easy for the end client to manage it, add and delete content, and more.
Your site looks rather simple enough, so that you could use the layout as a template and set up Wordpress to use this template. I guess thats just the nature of our business. customers want more than they are willing to pay for..lol

XDCAM offline-online editing

I'm trying to edit XDCAM offline, but can't really find a useable workflow. What I've tried so far is:
1) Convert XDCAM files in Media Encoder to DV
2) Edit DV
3) Mark DV-Clips as offline
4) Re-Link with XDCAM clips
The problem is the XDCAM folder-structure which makes it necessary to relink every single clip one by one, as they are hidden in subfolders.
Any ideas??

The first SAP note applies to other browsers and works well for IE6. The problem we face is with IE6. We are already on SPS 21 so according to the note the issue should not appear.
Are there any other solutions for this ?

Online edit with word2007 win7 64bit and ecm11g

I am using wc11gPS4 with ecm11g on win7 64bit, I configured wc with ecm, I used default content page in my groupspace, uploaded a word file, right click it, on the popup menu, select edit with word, I was prompted to enter username and passwd, I inputed the correct info, but never passed verification, is there any suggestion on this?
word version is office 2007.
This test is based on the changing of default registry table:
In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Parameters
I changed the value for "BasicAuthLevel" to "2" (decimal),hope this was not the reason, I did this for making webdav worked(webdav still doesn't work)

Recapturing for Online Edit Workflow

Hello everyone and thanks for your help.
I just finished editing a project that was shot in HDCAM 1080 25p. Not sure if it's 8 bit or 10 bit.
We edited it in PAL DV and need to deliver in full resolution.
I chose the AJA KONA LK: 1080i 25 8bit codec from the Capture/Input box. The sequence is 60 minutes long and FCP tells me I will need 7 tetrabytes to capture it. Does this sound right?
I have a few 1000 Gig drives, but when I try to start capturing, I get a message that there is not enough space on the disc. I thought about breaking up the sequence for capturing, but I am not sure that's the best workflow because I'll have clips from the same tape in various parts of the film, and I'll have to reload the same tapes over and over.
Can someone tell me what the best workflow is for this? Thanks.

I talked to someone who suggested the Pro Res codec as it takes up less space (he said 120 gigs per hour, which is a lot less than the uncompressed). If anyone has any other advice about this please let me know.
I now used Media Manager to create an offline version of my sequence. Now, when I go to log and capture, it wants to import 16 hours of footage instead of just the 93 minutes that are in my sequence. It seems it needs to capture the entire tape, instead of just the part of the clip that I am using. Is there any way to use Media Manager/Log and Capture to tell FCP to capture just the part of the clip that I am using in my sequence?
