Online exam of Oracle 9i SQL

from web search, i found that, for giving online exam of Oracle 9i SQL is no need a prometric centre. Any one can give the online exam from anywhere. Is it true?
Without sitting in a prometric centre for complete the exam is the result get full valuation / how it become authentic.
Please explain if any one from you have information regarding this.

Ok, it is possible. A non-proctored test means that you don't have to go into the testing center but can take it at home or in the office. There are other exam requirements (there is one additional center-based test required for OCA), but this is a good way to familiarize yourself with the types of questions, level of difficulty and style of our exam questions.

  • Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate

I am planning to take the exam for "Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate".
There are 2 exams under this certification. The first exam can be taken from any of these 4- 1Z0-007 or 1Z0-007 or 1Z0-047 or 1Z0-051. The second exam is 1Z0-147. But does any of these 2 exams need a mandatory online/inclass course offered from Oracle?
I appreciate if anyone who has taken this exam could help me and explain this.
    Thanks in advance.

  • ORACLE 9I SQL Exam Validity

One of my friend cleared Oracle 9i SQL paper in November 2005 and now wants to take PLSQL paper.
Will the SQL exam cleared in 2005 be valid still ?
Are there any timeliness within which we have to clear the papers ? to get OCA

Oracle can change the rules; but basically they (currently) work on the basis a certification once held is held for ever, and an exam pass once pass is held forever.
If your friend cleared 1z0-007 then that is a valid component towards a PL/SQL developer OCA : Reference : [http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=155]
If your friend clear 1z0-001 then it still remains a valid component towards PL/SQL developer OCA, as referenced here: [http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=206&p_org_id=18&lang=TR]

  • Is it possible to get ....OCA and Oracle certified SQL expert ...together ?

    Hie there everyone ...
i have a little question puzzling me ...
    just today i passed my , Oracle DataBase 10g Administration I --- ( 1Z0-042 ) ... on my way for OCA certification.
But now , as it required another exam to get certificate and this is my question ...
Which Exam is more preferred for this ?? ... at present oracle is offering 4 exams ...
    1. 1z0-001 ... introduction to oracle: Sql and Pl/Sql
    2. 1z0-007 ... Introduction to oracle 9i ( i like 10g more so , i prefer to not to go backwards )
    3. 1z0-047 ... Oracle DB SQL expert ( my choice )
    4. 1z0-051 ... Oracle DB 11g : SQL fundamentals
now when i was looking at these options , i come to know that , if i give exam 1Z0-047 ... i can get individual certificate as ORACLE DB Certified SQL EXPERT ...
SO , my question is ... if i go for 1Z0-047 , will i get 2 certificates ?? i means , as i have already cleared 2 exams for OCA_ ... and another for passing this 1Z0-047 as a ORACLE DB CERTIFIED SQL EXPERT ??_
can i hit two birds with one stone ??
please if someone can answer/confirm it asap ... so i can give that exam in next weekend ( i've already prepared for it ) ...
thanks in advance for any help ...

oh my god. this whole thing is making me confused too!
if i go for this 047 exam then will i be an OCE or OCA??
    if PASS(1z0-047) then Awarded SQL Certified Expert OCE;
    But DIFFICULTY(1z0-047) > MAX(DIFFICULTY(1z0-051,1z0-007)) !
    But Cost(1z0-047) > Cost(1z0-051,1z0-007) -- But not by much
and pls tell me what is the basic difference between all the exam options we have to become an OCA, particularly between exams 051 and 047 ?
since i am working in forms 6i , reports and pl/sql which exam would be better for me? and ya i am already working as a developer so have practical knowledge in sql so preapring for the courses would'nt be much a difficulty for me.
so pls suggest me which exam would suit me the best. thanksI your other post as well and nearly was to make this suggestion to you the you look at PL/SQL Developer Certifications. Because they match your current experience they will always help you in moving jobs.
You can also find studying for them will help your current work.
I would suggest 1z0-051 first. It ensures your up to some 11g features and will but you can learn new things on the way. It also gets you used to taking a prometric exam. It can be done online, you if you search other posts I give some reasons why I think this is not so good for most people. Others might argue 1z0-007 is an easier exam to take as you may be familiar with all constructs.
Some people plump straight for 1z0-047. You have to know a fair bit about analytic functions for this so its not trivial. But you do get a certificate for passing the exam, and as Jack shows it can be done. But its a harder exam.
PL/SQL OCA ought to be well within your grasp too. You have the choice of 1z0-147 or 1z0-144 (current in beta as 1z0-144, a long exam, but currently very cheap). From other posts you will see I dont think highly of 1z0-147, and quite frankly you wont learn a lt studying for it. 1z0-144 is the more recent exam and has more interesting topics and I think I'd advise who to aim for that (and if you take the beta exam you get some respect for me from trying it!). But certainly take one other exam at a prometric center before taking a beta!

  • Oracle Database 11g Administrator or Oracle PL/SQL and Forms Developer?

    Hi,
I am thinking about doing an Oracle certification course- Oracle Database 11g Administrator or Oracle PL/SQL and Forms Developer.
Oracle Database 11g OCP and OCM certification requires 3 mandatory training courses to be completed that costs between $1900 and $3250/each. Oracle PL/SQL certication doesn't require any mandatory training course.
Which one of these would be a good choice? Please advise.
    Thank you,
    Tracy

Regardless of which path you want to take, in order to get the OCP certification in either the DBA or PL/SQL developer track, you must first obtain the respective OCA certification for that track. I'm assuming that since you are still undecided in which path to take that you haven't started working on either yet. If you look at the pages for the OCA DBA and OCA PL/SQL Developer certs and what is required for each, you'll see that the first block of tests for either certification (the SQL based exams) has the same options (1Z0-007, 1Z0-047, 1Z0-051) and passing one of those SQL based exams gives credit towards obtaining both OCA certifications. That might be a good place to start.
Doing one of these tests first might give you some extra time to decide which track you want to pursue. But as Justin said, it really depends on what you do (or plan on doing) in your career as to which path might be more beneficial for you.
As for the OCM level stuff, I wouldn't even think about it until you get the OCP. One step at a time... Same with OCP before OCA. That being said, my suggestions are just that, suggestions. You're free to take any exams/courses in any order, but you won't be able to obtain the certs until you have completed the requirements for each.

  • Sql server - to oracle - and oracle - to sql server

    hi
is there any good tool for Migration from sql server 2008 to oracle 11g - and from oracle 11g to sql server 2008 ?
    thank's in advance

    Hello,
the SQL Developer Migration Workbench does not yet include online migrations of SQL Server 2008 (maximum version is 2005) to Oracle 11g. But an offline migration should work. Please refer to:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/migration//workbench/index_sqldev_omwb.html

For the other direction from Oracle to SQL Server you should check Microsoft sites, e.g. start here:

  • Migration from Access to Oracle through SQL developer

    Hi,
I want to migrate an mdb file which contains a set of tables to oracle. During this process, i have created schema and all the tables in Oracle using DDL scripts. I would like to transfer only the data to Oracle from access through SQL developer. How can I do that?
    Regards,
    Meena

    Hi Meena,
You mention that you have created the schema and tables in Oracle using DDL scripts. Did you use the Oracle SQL Developer Migration Workbench, creating a Migration Repository, to carry out this process? I see from your other postings that you are experiencing issues using the Exporter tool, which would lead me to believe that you haven't used the Migration Workbench to migrate your database. Obviously you will need to resolve your Exporter issues before you can proceed to the next phase of the migration process. I will aim to assist you with those issues on the seperate thread - ShowSplashScreen("_OracleSplashScreen",3) error The XML file generated by the Exporter tool forms the basis of your MS Access migration.
In order to migrate your data from MS Access to Oracle using the Migrate Data option in Oracle SQL Developer, you will need to have access to the Migration Repository used for the migration of the MS Access database. The information contained in the Converted Model, in the Migration Repository, is used during the data migration process. The data migration requires the following connections:
    1. a source database connection i.e. a database connection to the MS Access MDB file
    2. a target database connection i.e. a database connection to the migration Oracle schema
    3. a Converted Model connection
For further information on the creation of a Migration Repository, and the migration process, please refer to the accompanying documentation available via the online Help within Oracle SQL Developer, and also from OTN - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10405_01/doc/nav/portal_booklist.htm.
    I hope this helps.

  • Oracle pl/sql programming - Steven

    Hi,
I have the book names Oracle Pl/SQL programming by Steven ( from Oreilly ).
I want to run the scripts provided in the book and learn myself.
But where do i get the test data required to execute the scripts on database. Without test data, i am not sure how could i run the scripts provided in the book.
I appreciate if someone can guide me in this case.
Lot of authors have test scripts ( to load test data ) on their website. But i dont see the test scripts on Steve's website.

Most of the examples are just using the tables that are part of the HR schema.  When you install the database, you're asked whether you want to install the sample schemas (which includes HR).  Just indicate that you want the sample schemas when you install your database.
    The supplementary examples are online
    http://examples.oreilly.com/9780596514464/
I don't believe those examples involve much data, though.

.... The most likely response is from someone training to sell unauthorised learning materials.
..... The OCP should understand the exams topics and online manuals for 11g should be sufficient. Oracle Press Books and Sybex Books for 11g DBA OCP should also cover number of the required topics if that helps. Not to mention Oracle University Training.
...... But an OCP asking for a 'PDF' or 'PPT' for the 1z0-055 exam ??????? .... what form of content are you thinking?
