Online friends are showing offline
Since yesterday I've been having a problem with my Skype, my friends who are currently online are showing as offline and I also show as offline to them. We were still able to send messages to each other but now today I can't receive their messages anymore. My skype is Online not invisible, I have even tried changing it and it makes no difference. I even tried signing into skype from my phone and it still does the same. I've made a brand new Skype account to see if it happens on their too but it works perfectly on there and I show online to my friends as normal and I can see them online too. So I'm guessing it's something to do with my old account and not my PC. Can you please fix this Skype?
Try to reset all Skype settings. Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder. Restart Skype. N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

No. The hardware in the fourth-gen iPod touch won't handle iOS 7 or Apple would have released it for your model of iPod. If you want to run iOS 7, you'll need a new iPod.

all my email accounts are showing off line in apple mail.
I can access them through the internet but not through apple mail any ideas?Select 'Take all accounts online' on 'Mailbox' menu at top of screen.

TS4006 Both my iPhone and iPad are showing offline
I was able to use find my iPhone and iPad In the past but now both devices show "offline". I have enabled iCloud and updated both devices.
One reason you may have duplicates is that you have each contact listed under your 'iCloud' account AND under your 'on my mac' account. Only contacts in the iCloud account will sync.
Click on the ribbon in the Address Book to reveal 'Users & Groups', and then by selecting each account on the left side you will see which contacts are in which account. (make sure nothing is typed in the search field)
If this is the reason you have duplicates you have two options of dealing with the situation. Either you can leave the duplicates alone and click on one account or the other before clicking on the ribbon again to limit what you see to that account when you return to the main part of your Address Book.
Or you can delete all the contacts from one account (usually the 'on my mac' account if you want to continue syncing with iCloud). Click on the account you want to delete contacts from on the left side of the Address Book and select the first contact in the list on the right, shift click the last contact to select all and delete.
Finally, You may want to check your default account is set correctly in the Address Book preferences.

All my SMTP's are showing offline
Can receive emails on my Mac, can send emails from my iPad and iPhone but not from my Mac. Updated to Yosemite last week but this only occurred today, my wife can send emails on her Mac so not an ISDP problem
Under Windows in the Menu bar select Connection doctor. You will see green to indicate a connection and red to show there is a problem. Except for iCloud & Exchange accounts you'll see two entries for each account 1) receiving and 2) SMTP for sending.
Most likely you just need to add your email address and/or password in SMTP settings.
EDIT SMTP SETTINGS
In Accounts window > Outgoing Mail Server SMTP: select to Edit SMTP Server list... from popup.
Select account in the list.(It's not uncommon to find extra SMTP servers listed. When you remove account, Mail does not delete the smtp info. You might need to do some clean up in the list to remove the extras.)
Under Advanced Tab:
Apple defaults to the default ports (25,465, 587) but some servers prefer a custom port. Check to see what port they recommend. Gmail for example likes 465, Outlook.com 587.
Verify if your server require SSL.
User Name. Enter full email address eg. [email protected]
Add password if it is blank.(If you have two step authentication setup, you'll need to get an app specific password more info)

We have WAE 7341 with 4.1.5f code which failed. We recreated raid after which we see all the disk online, but raid shows offline status.

Further, if you are using recovery CD, please make sure to run option 7 more than once and then option 8 to install the image on box.

7. Recreate RAID device (WAE-674/7341/7371 only)
8. Wipe out disks and install .bin image

My contacts showing offline...
My contacts are showing offline when they are indeed online...and they see me as offline too...this is a new problem. I have deleted Skype and downloaded v5.9 for Windows...still no joy..what is going on please?

Online iChat buddies appearing Offline
Here is my situation.
I bought a used Mac Mini G4 for a relative of mine. It has a clean install of Leopard. I have iChat open and there are 4 people online that are showing up as offline. I know they are online because they show up on my MacBook (also running 10.5.1). The only buddy that shows up as online is my other screen name (logged-in in the other room on my MacBook). Bonjour is off.
What is going on?Also get them to do these things
Make sure ichat is Launched
Go to the View menu
Make sure Show Offline Buddies is ticked
This should show you are an Off line Buddy or Not.
Click your Name once to highlight
Use the Apple Key and i key together (Get Info)
This should bring up the iChat card for you.
Click on the Address Card
This may or may not have your Real Name or Nickname BUT will have at least your Screen name.
Check this screen name character for Character matches your name (AIM names should not have a Suffix - @mac ones should have the @mac.com only once as the software adds it itself when Adding Buddies)
Next.
Go to the iChat menu item.
Preferences > the Accounts
Highlight the account name on the left.
Select the Security tab on the right (main part of the pane)
Make sure at this stage Allow All is used.
Of course make sure in System Preferences > Accounts they are logged in as their Mac User account and not any you might have set up for yourself while you were there. (this would make the Address Book "wrong" and may lead to Problems trying to Add your own screen name)

Oracle VMserver showing offline in manager
Hello Team,
We have installed OVM-3.2.1, i have discovered the server in the VM manager and created some VMs last month. But for the past 2days the Server and VMs are showing offline in the VM manager but i am able to connect to those vms in putty and application installed in that VMs are working fine.
Kindly help me to resolve this issue.

Niranjan SOVMM draws its information from the ovs-agent on the OVM servers). You can run the xen guests without it, but then the management wouldn't get updated, as is the case for you. The first thing to try would be to check if the ovs-agent is still running, or to restart it right away on the affected oVM server. Login to the OVM server via ssh and issue this:
service ovs-agent restart
That should either cycle the ovn-agent in case it had got stuck or start it, if it had been terminated. -
All Send mail servers show offline...POP & IMAP
So all my outgoing mail servers are showing offline...this includes .Mac, an IMAP company email and POP company email....has been like this for a couple days.
I get mail okay, all other internet functions seem fine...
Using a Airport Extreme router...might that be blocking it?
Have tried a few different ports recommended on other discussions, but no luck so far...
HELPTwo things that might help...(mine is working now)..
1) If you are using little snitch uninstall it.
2) I ended up removing all my preferences. First go to User>Library>Mail and copy that to your desktop to back up your mail. Then copy all your prefs from user>Library>Preferences to a backup folder. Then delete them. Restart you computer. All your doc settings, etc will be gone but that might fix the issue. Then you can either start fresh or copy the prefs back one by one until you figure out the issue.
3) If you want to reimport your mail (if you have saved mail on your comp) go to mail>file>import mailboxes and reimport your mail folder from your desktop. -
How do you get an email account online when it is showing offline for sending. All settings are correct, previous solutions on the site don't help. One account works find the other one receives but doesn't send. No issues with ISP was found. This may have been happening since OS travel. Took a while to realise it was using the other account for sending.
I just solve the problem. While OS we brought an internet USB and connected to a phone, one or both of these must have caused the problem. When both of the downloads associated with them were deleted the email issue was resolved. regards

Printer connected to Airport Express USB port won't come online after firmware 7.6 upgrade. I've tried backing up to 7.5.2, but it still shows offline. It is a Canon iP4600 printer and I'm running OS 10.6.8. I've powered everything down and still no go. I've connected the printer directly to my MacBook's USB port and it works fine. Any suggestions?
I have an iP4500, which I assume is quite similar to your model.
I had to reset the printing system to get things printing again. Only takes a few minutes and no problems at all since I did it a week ago or so.
Plug the printer into the USB port on the Express and restart the printer.
Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock) and then open Print and Fax
Right-Click in the printer area on the left and select Reset Printing System
Then click the + (plus) button at the bottom of the printer list to install the printer again. -
My ichat buddies always appear offline when i know they are online and I appear offline to them
A couple months ago my ichat was working fine. Then all of a sudden all my buddies appeared offline when I knew for a fact they were online and I appeared offline to them as well. The only solution I have found is to delete each buddy and re-add them again and they magically show up online but after a while, like a couple days, they all appear offline again. I changed the port to 443 and deleted and re-added my jabber account and deleted the ichat.plist but nothing works.

This could be down to the priority that each account and each login can have.
In Messages you can set the Priority that the app (and that account has)
The Earlier iChat apps did not have this setting despite it actually using a Priority.
The iChat versions is set to 25.
This is the same Priority as the web mail page login.
In this case the last login would take the "lead" - you would not always be logged off the other login but the messages sent would go to the last login.
I don't use Jabber enough to say if the 0 in Messages is higher or lower than the 25 in iChat or the web login.
I presume that 0 is in fact null and 25 is the highest that can be set.
Anyway the idea is that you can log in on various devices and use the Priority setting to make one the "first Receiver" if you will.
I have always thought it defaulted to the next device on the next highest priority.
I.e. the Home computer could be left on but a Work computer would have a "higher" priority and take the "lead" and a phone app could be set "higher" still and override thing when you are not at a computer.
I would wonder, based on your comments, whether these Buddies have logins with the same Priorities and when one device logs out the other(s) are not taking over, making them look Off Line.

Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

Images showing offline when they are not - sequence plays fine
I'm using FCE 4.0 and when I open a project that I've been working on for weeks, some of the pictures in one of my directories are showing as offline.
When I go into that bin and click on an offline photo, it shows me the thumbnail and I some of the other pictures which are offline are now visible and other previously visible pictures are now showing offline.
I can play the entire sequence and everything is available and plays fine. I just can't see the photos to add them to my project.
any thoughts?Maybe I am stupid but if you delete the imagefolder, it will be gone. You can set your default imagefolder: goto Media-> Camera-> Settings-> Use Memory-> Card. You can also backup your card to PC, reformat the card in your phone, because it makes default maps for images, video, audio,.........and then copy your images back to the specific folder.
