Online mailbox quota full, need to download emails to MacBook (OS X Mavericks)-how?
I would have thought this would be simple but either I am missing the obvious or it is not so simple.
Any help would be really appreciated.

Urgently need to download emails from server
Hello - my webmail server is about to wipe my emails in the next couple of days. I am running Mavericks on a Macbook and want to download all emails from the server so that they stay on my Mail app when the server finally deletes all the emails. Can anyone please advise me?

PaulHI - so far as I know it's a standard webmail operation. In this case it is with Virginmedia. The problem is that i have closed my account with them and a 3 month grace-period where my email account is still active is about to come to an end. After that I won't have access to my emails. So I need to download them from the server. I can currently access them but i do not know what settings to put into either the webmail or my Mac Mail app.
(in other words I want to store all my emails permanently on my Macbook and not on any server).
I'm very grateful for any guidance on this. I don't want to lose the emails.

MacBook Air with Mavericks. I need to download agendas with embedded files. This is through an encrypted email account. My Mac is blocked from even opening the embedded files on line and I can't save any of this to my laptop. It works fine on my PC laptop. Help please. I know this is a problem for other people too, but would love the solution!
Gee, Pat, this is a real big help.
Nobody could possibly think anyone would ask for help without first trying to fix the issue oneself. Or maybe you do. I have opened the file and looked under security. I have changed it to owner-notebook (which is what the techs called me) and clicked accept but geepers it didn't work.
Maybe someone else has an idea.

I ended up being able to open some pdf files after transferring them from one partition category to another. I wish it was that easy as you seem to think.

Need help downloading cs4 onto macbook air from an external disk drive
All the disks are loaded onto the drive but it gets to a certain point and then asks for insert disk 2. After attempting several times and trying different methods, now the setup menu won't even open.

I need to extract email addresses from my "Sent" folder, how can I do this?
I have found a way to export addresses using the "export" option inside the address book-however, I need to extract the addresses from my Sent folder specifically. Is there a way to copy and paste into an Excel file? Or is there a way to do this through Thunderbird?
Every contact you've sent a message to is automatically added to the Collected Addresses address book. One approach would be to create a new address book, then copy the desired contacts from Collected Addresses to that book by drag and drop, while holding the Ctrl key. Then, export the new address book to a csv (comma separated) file and open it in Excel.
It's also possible to scan a folder for contacts and have them added to an address book:

Did you look in your downloads folder? If you are using Safari to download then look at Safari - Preferences - General and look in where it says Save downloaded files to. If you have left it to the defaults download folder you will find that under ~/downloads the ~ means your home folder. You can find that in Finder.
I know you are to OS X so you are probably just unlearning some old bad habits. I'd recommend book marking and using:
