"Online" notification Sound when users go offline

[Topic title updated by moderator to be more descriptive. Original topic title was: "Notification Sound Problem"]
I am now having trouble with my sound notifications. When friends are signing in Online it plays the Contacts Available sound, but when my friends go offline is plays the same sound for people who just came Online. I have also set it to the notification sound for play the sound when contacts are Unavailable, but it still plays the contacts are Available Notification sound. Please help?
I am currently running Skype Version 7.5 for Mac OX S 10.9.5

Thanks. The problem is, I have to creat and send them many html files using the applet cached. In the server, it is not possible to remember each user's installation path for our applet jar file.
By the way, what is java web start and what does it do? Does it support netscape 4.x? does it require the client to install software?
We do exactly the thing you are asking with our
applets. What we did was had a download applet that
used FTP to let the users pick a local directory to
create, all the jars were downloaded to that location,
and all they had to do to run it was click the html
page we sent with it.
No work around that I know of....unless you use Web
Start or something like that.

  • Weird: getting iphone notification sound when I receive a new Gmail email even though account is deleted on phone?

I've been trying to debug an issue with receiving notification sounds
that I don't want to receive, and I don't know where to go from here -
    I am totally confused.
A couple of days ago I started having a problem where anytime I
received an email I would get a notification sound. I didn't want
that, so I tried turning off all notifications on mail. This didn't
fix the problem, I would still get a sound when receiving a new email.
Next I tried removing my gmail account from the Mail app.
Surprisingly, I still am having the problem with getting a new
notification sound when a new email is received. (I tested by sending
    emails to myself).
Next I tried turning off cell data on the phone, and also removed the
phone's sim card so that I would be sure it was only communicating
over my wifi network that it was connected to. Bluetooth is also
turned off.  I downloaded the Mac OS X Program Eavesdrop[1] and
started watching the network traffic, sent an email, received the
notification sound on my phone, and checked the network wifi traffic.
Surprisingly, there was no connections listed. So how does the iPhone
know a new message was received? This is repeatable.
I had the Gmail app running but not logged in, so I tried quitting
that app and it had no effect: I still received the notification
    sound.
I tried changing the password on my Gmail account and then
tried sending another email, and it still makes the notification sound
    after the email is received!
I have a list of open applications if you're interested in that. I did try turning my iphone on and back off but it still happens.  I realize I could probably fix by re-installing the OS but I'm interested to know what's going on and why.
I have my iPhone connected to my iMac and running Xcode, when the
weird email notification comes in there's this line in the console:
    Nov 23 14:43:16 unknown SpringBoard[15] <Warning>: No alert sound
    found at path 'UILocalNotificationDefaultSoundName'.
    AudioServicesCreateSystemSoundIDWithPath() returned: -1500

    Hi,
I had the same issue for somtimes now and eventually removed the GMail app because the sound notifications I had happened everytime I received an e-mail in my GMail account (including spam).
Since I removed it, no more problem and my battery life is way better !

  • I want a notification sound when I receive a new email

I have the sound turned on Windows 7 Enterprise, and I have checked in my Outlook 2010 to make a notification sound when I receive a new email, but no sound is made when I receive an email.  Can anyone advise me how to get this to work?

    Hi,
The sound option for new coming emails lies in: File tab -> Options -> Mail -> Message arrival -> Please confirm you have selected the checkbox
    Play a sound.
If you only don’t get a sound when receiving emails from some specific senders, you may have set up some rules to manage incoming emails, please make sure you have selected the
Play a sound checkbox in the rules.
If there’s still no sound, please run Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if it’s related to 3rd-party add-ins:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.
    I hope this helps.

It stopped working when I had to reset my phone to factory settings a week ago.
IOS has been updated and I have the latest software,. but it will not alert me each time I get mail. In few occassions I get the Ding of new mail, but for 15 mails I get maybe 2.

  • No notifications sounds when connecting a headset to my Q10

    Hi,
I am facing a problem that when I connect a headset to my Q10, the notifications only comes out through the headseats, not the Q10 speakers, which is weird
please help me find the solution to make the notifications rings through both the headset and the Q10 speakers
    best regards,

    Hey Al-Dhabiany05,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
This is by design if you connect a headset all notifications will come through the headset and not the speaker.  If you remove the headset, do the notifications resume through the speaker?
I look forward to your reply.
    Cheers.

  • No sound when recieving a notification.

Im using an IPhone6 but dont get a notification sound when an udate on facebook/twitter is sent to me....email notifications work as do text messages

The user troubleshooting measures are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. It seems strange that it is just these two applications. You could also try deleting the apps and downloading them again to see if that helps.

  • My ipad doesn't seem to make a sound when it is closed or in sleep mode to let me know there is an imessage until you see it on the screen that someone has imessaged.  When you're taking it makes the swoosh sound, just not when it's in sleep mode.  Help

Am having some problems with the sounds on my ipad, specifically my imessage notification sound when your ipad is in sleep mode and someone is messaging you.  It seems to work with the swoosh sounds when you are actively messaging back and forth, but as soon as I close my ipad up and is locked or in sleep mode, I don't know anyone is messaging me until I look at my ipad.  I've tried a few things.. But nothing has worked so far....Please help!

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

To solve some sound problems, just follow these simple steps
    1. Go to Settings
    2. Tap on General
    3. Tap on Reset
    4. Tap on Reset All Settings
What this effectively does is to reset some of your Settings to factory default. It’s not a complete removal of settings. It removes all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy. It doesn’t affect your data. All of your email accounts will remain intact, as well as any SMS text or iMessages.

  • Mail notification sounds even on mute.

Hello. Recently my iPhone 5s started to make notification sounds when I got a new mail. Even when the phone is on mute. Im using Apple´s mail client. Got 2 mail accounts connected to the mail client. Both makes sounds when I recieve new mail. Have been google about simular problem but only find solutions when people uses Gmail and there own mail client.

Thank you Chris for your reply and time.
I feel really ashamed. Easiest way to solve my problem was to keep track on my iPad.
My girlfriends brother have been at my place and have been using my iPad. He did put it behind the couch where I have been sitting and watched tv and when google my problem with my phone. When I was going to check if the iPad did behave the sameway as the phone I didnt find it. So used "find my iPad" and there it was, right behind my back and with the sound on.
    Have a great day! =)

  • Change twitter notification sound???

I'm sorry if this is a really stupid question... Is there a way to change the notification sound when a tweet from a person I follow comes in?  Right now it's the standard tri-tone.  Under Settings - Sounds - Twiiter,  "tweet" is currently selected, but it still plays the tri-tone.   What am I doing wrong?  Using iOS8 on iPhone 6.  Thanks.

Hey I was wondering if you've found a solution to this problem? I'm going through the same issue and have been since I got the i5 in february. Any type of help would be appreciated.
