Online PDF Stops Working

I made a PDF from a 200 page booklet created in InDesign CS6 on a PC. When it was first uploaded (http://psgcoop.org/big_media/GSOYP_Manual_1.0.pdf) all of the internal links and page advances functioned properly. Now, after 4 months of working properly,  pages are missing, page advances are not there, internal links go to the wrong pages. and some of the graphics are messed up. How can I fix this?

It looks fine to me. Can you be more specific?

Hi, my read aloud feature with PDF stopped working. It reports: no US English voice available on this system. How can I restore it to read aloud again? Thx, Rick

I am having the exact same problem... My Text-to-speech just errors out when I select a new voice and then that voice disappears from the choices of voices. I can not get it to speak anything since the Leopard upgrade. Some suggestions would be great as to what might cause this to fail. Thanks

  • Save as PDF stopped working since updating

I am using Photoshop/Lightroom Photography CC, Office 2010 on Windows 7 Home (64bit).
Since updating to the latest version of Photoshop in the last week or so, saving as a PDF file seems to have stopped working in Word & Excel.
    Could there be a link?
I'm pretty sure I haven't made any other changes, or Windows updates.
The response from Excel is "Document not saved" and from Word it's "The export failed due to an unexpected error." No other indication of what the problem might be and nothing in the Event Logs.
I have tried repairing Office but that hasn't helped.
Why do these niggles always bite you just when things are at their most stressful!! :-)
    Thanks,
    Roy

OK - I did a Restore to a point the day before the Photoshop  updates were released. The Restore point told me that only Photoshop and Lightroom would be affected. After the Restore Lightroom was indeed at the earlier version but strangely, Photoshop wasn't.
However - the "Save to PDF" in Word & Excel were now working.
I Uninstalled Photoshop, and then reinstalled it and the latest version of Lightroom.
"Save to PDF" continued to work.
There are no Windows updates needed - that's all up to date.
So I have no idea what was causing the problem but at least it's now working and I can get on with things! Something corrupted I guess. But at least it doesn't look like the Photoshop/Lightroom upgrade was anything to do with it!

  • "Save as PDF" stopped working...

I purchased this add-on for my Adobe 8 version to convert my excel spreads into PDF's. It all the sudden stopped working. I click on the icon and nothing happens now. Any ideas?

What add-on and what Adobe 8?
Adobe is a company not an application and there is no add-on for the free Reader that creates PDF's so you're going to have to give a bit more information.

  • Printing function (to paper, and to pdf) stops working in Firefox 6.0

All webpages give windows error (audible), but no error message, when printing with Ctrl+P. The same webpages will print in Microsoft IE 8.0.
I have reset printer in Firefox, updated, un-installed, re-installed, all add-ins or extensions, when printing worked, but has since stopped working again. I have minimum add-ins and extensions 'enabled' now, and printing still does not work.
Curiously, the Firefox, File, Print Preview menu option works to preview the webpage, but it is then unavailable for actual printing.
Where on earth is the problem?
Should I revert to previous Mozilla Firefox version?

An automatic Firefox update from v6.0 to v8.0 yesterday had again prevented the same webpages being printed that previously worked fine (to paper or to pdf).
These webpages will print to paper or pdf in IE8. The problem obviously lies with Firefox and its latest update. Pressing Ctr+P, an audible sound is heard once, and no print dialog box. in Firefox Menu Print-Preview the webpage is visible, but again Ctrl+P causes a warning sound, and no printing dialog box.
I'm going to have to revert to a previous Firefox version.
Anybody got a clue out there?

  • Create pdf stopped working - WindowsXP-Office2003-Acrobat6

After 3 years of creating pdfs just fine, I swear it seems like "it" just stopped working.
Windows XP Media Edition - Service Pak 3
    Office Professional 2003
    Acrobat Standard 6.0
In any Office ap (word, excel, publisher, etc), if I do Print/Adobe PDF/OK - I get:
"Windows cannot print due to a problem with the current printer setup."
I've run Acrobat "Detect and Repair".
I've uninstalled (through Control Panel) and then reinstalled Acrobat.
I've run "Detect and Repair" in the various Office applications.
I've run into lots of "buzz" on the internet after googling the Error Message, and lots of other queries - but can't find an explanation or a fix. (Lots of other companies trying to sell their pdf makers by saying this is a big problem with Acrobat.)
I know - I should probably upgrade to the newest version of Acrobat, but I'm not comfortable that 6.0 that "worked" for years suddenly has stopped.
I use my machine hours each day, and no doubt there are background updates to Norton, Office, etc. going on frequently. But don't think I've made any major changes to the system to cause this.
    Help? Thanks - John D

You select the Adobe PDF printer, but check the print to file button that is by that choice. In the printer box of my print menu, there is a little "Print to file" checkbox that I am talking about. For regular printers this creates a file that you could simply copy to the printer and complete the process. With Acrobat, the file must be processed in Distiller. What this does is checks the basic operation versus the automated step done by the PDF Port part of the Adobe PDF printer.
The printing process in Acrobat has several steps that are automated. The most basic process is to create a printer file (it is actually a PS file) when printing to the Adobe PDF printer. If you can successfully create that file, the next step is to open it in Distiller. If there are problems with the file, you should see those pointed out in the Distilling process. If you get a PDF from this process, but not when you print normally to the Adobe PDF printer (no print to file), then it suggests you have a problem with AcroTray (This should be running in the background all the time - check with ctrl-alt-del to see the tasks).
PDF Maker is simply another layer on top of the Adobe PDF printer that adds PDF Marks to the PS file created in the printing process by the printer. Normally, AcroTray will automatically process the PS file with Distiller and you don't deal with the extra steps yourself. The creation of the PS file is often where folks run into trouble with large files and running out of memory in the TEMP folder. The extra layers from PDF maker often bloat this file a lot.
Hope that I did not confuse you with the extra info. However, the info may help you understand the diagnostic process for tracing down the problem. Saying something does not work often leaves a lot of room for possible solutions and the first step is to narrow the problem down to a specific cause. Bill

  • Online videos stopped working

My MacBook was recently autoupdated, which caused some online videos to stop working. The page appears blank, as if no player is loaded. Could anybody help?

Online pdfs are opening as a blank grey screen. However, I can download the files and view them without issue - I would like to be able to view them directly online. How to fix this issue? I am using MacAir OS X 10.8.2

  • Output to Web or pdf stopped working

Help - this function has stopped working!
It still appears in the drop down menu but is greyed out. It's in the startup scripts and ticked and is in both output modules folders in the system and users library folders. Have tried everything to get it working again barring a re-install which I'm loathe to do (time it takes!).
Had a lot of problems recently with setting up a VersionCue server - numerous de and re installs before finally getting that to work but this option was still available - now it's stopped working.
Mac OSX 10.5.8 to latest updates.
    Adobe CS4 to latest updates.

Sorry to hear that. I'm running out of options if you have checked the user
account. (locking system prefs is to my knowledge no guarantee to stay out
    of trouble )
One more thing, did you have installed the latest AOM version (with header
and footer options), don't know if the updater does get that. CS4 updater is
much better then previous versions but still not perfect I believe.
Check this link for an update for AOM.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4229
Hope the links works otherwise search the adobe site for update Output
Module Mac and you will get there.
If still no luck try to open a case with Adobe tech using the contact button
at top of the forum window.
As for you suggestion about user accounts - all my system preferences are
locked and can only be changed with my permission - apart from the standard
Adobe and Mac updates using the scheduled updater programs nothing has change

  • Interactive PDF stopped working after upgrade to Safari 7.1 (i.e. all Mavericks users), Suggestions?

We have a set of interactive PDF forms that our users access via the web.  We have to use the PDF forms online because they are configured to pre-fill basic information that is acquired from our database/information system, which our users can only access via a web-based interface (i.e. no client).  Furthermore, when we save/submit any of these forms, the resulting FDF needs to also be tied to whatever record the user is working on (again, via the web-based interface).
It appears that the Adobe plugin for Macintosh only works for Safari, and 90% of our users are on Macs... so for the last few years we have recommended Safari as the only browser that will work for any Mac user one who uses these forms.
However the Adobe plugin doesn't appear to be working very well with the latest update of Safari (7.1).  We can open the forms online, and all the pre-filled data is present, and initially we are able to interact with our form and we can even save/submit.  However at some point we simply lose the ability to interact with any of the fields (i.e. after a few minutes of initial use, or if we attempt to edit after re-opening a saved form).  Strangely enough - we can still cut and copy text, and the save button still works - but that is about it... no typing or clicking radio buttons etc..
And as Mac users are probably aware, the Safari 7.1 upgrade is tied to the Mavericks OS upgrade - and you can't really just go back to an older version!
    Questions:
    1) Can Adobe be made to work on a Mac with any browser other than Safari?
    2) Are there any other Mac users who use interactive PDF's in Safari 7.1?  And if so, are you having (or did you have) any issues and how did you fix them?
    3) I have created all our interactive forms on Adobe Pro 9.0 (which I only use to maintain these forms).  Until now I have had no reason to upgrade... but could the older version of Pro be part of our problem?

  • Combining files into a single pdf stopped working

I used to be able to combine files into a single pdf on my Mac using Adobe Acrobat XI Professional. Now when I select "combine files into a single pdf", I just get a short vertical line with a gray cloud around it in the center of my screen. Do I need to reinstall the program?

    Hi geolawrocks,
Welcome to Forums, I would be more than happy to help you with the issue but, i have few questions.
    1) What is the error message you get while combining files?
    2) When did it last worked?
3)Any changes to the application/OS that you made (Update)?
If possible, Kindly include the screenshot.

  • Face-screen of phone turns white and won't refresh & adobe pdf stopped working, too

i've synched, i've update software, i've turned phoneoff and back on and phone is fully charged

You have to perform a software repair using PC companion. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 60% battery.
Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).
Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable.
