Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

  • How do I complete online .pdf form and then print?

Sometimes, I can enter data on an online .pdf form and sometimes, I cannot.  I need to complete forms and then print them rather than print a blank form to complete by handwriting.  Window XP and Vista on my computers.  I have installed some Adobe and Acrobat programs but do not know which ones would help me with my problem.  thank you

Adobe is the company. I assume you are talking about Reader and Acrobat. It would be nice to know which ones, but the answer is likely the same. With Reader, you can only complete the form electronically in Reader if the creator added from fields for your to fill in. If not you have one option and that is to print. You could still play with filling it out electronically, but you would have to print the form, put it back in the printer, and use your word processor to place the information on the form. This is a bit time consuming and requires some measuring and possibly some trial and error, but it does work - I used to fill forms out like this all the time, but generally forms I filled out once a month and so it was worth the time.
With Acrobat, you can use the Typewriter tool, Use the Text Touchup Tool (not real convenient) with the ctrl key used when you place the cursor, or create your own fields. Depending on your version of Acrobat, you may not be able to create form fields (like AA7 Std and before I think, Pro includes the form tools). With forms, you may also have the choice of the form files under TOOLS>Advanced Editing (typically called AcroForms) or the FORM menu that typically takes you to Designer.
Those are your choices, though there are variations with version (next time try to tell us the program version you are using and if it is Reader or Acrobat - for Reader you may want to go to the Reader forum).

  • I have ADOBE X reader installed in my systems. When I wanted to open an online pdf form, Mozilla puts up a error message and the form does not open.

When I try to open a online pdf form, I get a error message to close the reader and try it again. Sometimes, the message does not come but what I see is just a BLACK screen in Mozilla.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

  • Opening an Online PDF

Since our IT Department installed Acrobat Pro 9.0 on my computer, I have not been able to click on a PDF link on a web site and open it. When we click on the file, we get the following error message:
"The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser. Adobe Acrobat/Reader version 8 or 9 is required. Please exit and try again."
Since I'm using Acrobat 9, the error message is, well, erroneous. How do I solve the problem? The work around they came up with was to install Foxit Reader. Since I updated Acrobat 9 earlier today, I'm back to not being able to read online PDFs (which means that I have to reassociate Foxit with the files, unless someone here can tell me how to get Acrobat Pro to work.)

Do you also have Reader on the machine? If so that might be the problem. If not, then do you have Acrobat set to view in the browser?

  • Cannot Create Online PDF

Beginning last evening I was able to log into my Create Online PDF account but when I tried to create a PDF from HTML as I usually do, I was told by the pop up window Your Trials Have Expired. It went on to,say, "We're sorry. You have used all your free trials. If you live in the U.S. or Canada you can subscribe to the Create Adobe Copyright Registered PDF online service and continue to convert your files into high quality PDF documents.
    Monthly subscription US#9.99

    a two month savings
I have had an ongoing account for this and without a problem Create Adobe PDF Online comes through each month saying:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at yahoo.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.
    <[email protected]>:
    64.18.5.10 does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 550 No such user - psmtp
    Giving up on 64.18.5.10.
I then started a Web Case and haven't hear a word. Every time Create PDF Online inserts a red service alert, my heart almost stops because I know I am going to get into trouble. This has all happened before. This red alert saying Users of Adobe PDF Online may experience an interruption in service between 5:00pm and 6:30pm PST on 1/14/11, while maintenance activities are being performed. This red alert has been going on for a lot longer than this recent alert. There has been a red Service alert on the page for that three weeks. I was able to create files without a problem. But now, I am welcomed to my email address, however my five free trials have ended and I am asked to subscribe. I am paid up until the next transaction date of 01/26/2011. My free trials ended back in 2007 if not earlier when I subscribed to this Online PDF service.

I'm having the same issue. When I log in it says my trial has expired. But I have been a subscriber since 2007. And so far I have lost a whole days worth of work trying to figure out what is wrong with it. I have not yet found a way to log in as a subscriber. Adobe please fix the issue. I will cancel my subscription if the problem persists, I'm not paying $119.88 for something that is not going to work or help my buisness.

    1) start form - lets say it has 10 fields

    3) on open, the pdf form opens with data. Could also be that an xdp was uploaded, which had a ref to pdf.
Is there a better way - come with your surgetions! I would like the server-site script to be PHP, which a have a little experince with..
Look forward to those clever ideas :)
    Thomas Groenbaek - Denmark

No, you have to do it by creating duplicate and then renaming. In the Documents list, tap the Edit button, select the file, and tap the "Duplicate selected document" icon at the top, second from the left.
To rename: Edit > select file > Rename (icon to the left of the trash can)

  • Since I got OS10.8.2 Safari won't display online PDF files?

Since I got OS10.8.2 Safari won't display online PDF files?
Can anyone tell me what the problem is?

    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • Why doesn't Adobe Reader XI load when viewing online PDFs?

This is probably a stupid question, but I noticed something odd last night.  I have Adobe Reader 9 on my netbook and Adobe Reader XI on my main computer.  I had been browsing some online PDF files on my netbook, and in Adobe Reader 9 I get the Reader "interface", i.e., there is the border surrounding the PDF, with the page number box at the top and I can search the document for various things.  On my main computer with Adobe Reader XI, the PDF files are simply downloading and I don't have the Reader "interface" anymore, so there's no way to search for items or go to specific pages.  Is there someplace to edit my settings in XI so that I get the interface?  Thanks so much for your help.

    Open Chrome
In the address bar, type chrome://plugins and press Enter
Scroll down to the entry called Chrome PDF Viewer and click Disable.
Scroll to the Adobe Reader or Acrobat entry and click Enable.

  • When printing from an online PDF, the page prints in extra large scale. How do I fix this?

when printing from an online PDF, the page prints in extra large scale. How do I fix this?

This can happen when Firefox has misread the paper size from the information supplied by Windows. Clearing it can involve finding some obscure settings, but here goes:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''print''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) For each setting for the problem printer, right-click and Reset it. The fastest way is to right-click with the mouse and then press the r key on the keyboard with your other hand.
Note: In a couple other threads involving Brother printers, the preference '''printer_printer_name.print_paper_data''' was set to 256 and when the user edited it to 1 that fixed the paper size problem. If you see a 256 there, you can edit the value by doubling-clicking it or using right-click>Modify.

  • Viewing online PDF documents with Adobe readerX1

Can someone please help me with this. For the past two months I have been unable to read online PDF documents. I have now followed the Quick Fix instruction re plug-ins but it made no difference. I couldn't even open the Adobe terms and conditions in this section so had to just tick the box anyway to get through.

Pat, I downloaded 11.0.04 but can not now install it because I get the message:-
"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch".
Do I first have to uninstall 11.0.03.37?

  • Trouble with viewing online PDF documents

Every time I try to view an online pdf document, I get a black screen that tells me to open Adobe Reader and accept the end-user agreement.  I cannot figure out how to do this.  Please help!

    Launch the desktop application first.
    On Windows it's Start>All Programs>Adobe Reader XI
On Mac OS X it's in the Applications folder under the path /Applications/Adobe Reader XI
After launching you "should" be presented with a EULA screen to Accept the licensing agreement.

  • ACROBAT READER 7.09-PDF'S NOT OPENING FROM ONLINE PDF LINKS

Trying to open up pdf's from an online link and they will not open up, not even in preview. Anyway i can setup acrobat to be the default handler of online pdf's.

Basically what is happening is that no download box pops up when i click the link on his mac, meaning, it doesn't look like it is even downloading it. My mac downloads and opens it right up on my machine in adobe. I thought maybe it was a browser issue, im running safari 1.3.2, he is running 1.2.3 and i tried upgrading him to 1.3.1 and it said it couldn't install the software, I then tried installing 1.3.2 and it said it couldn't install without 1.3.1. How the **** do you upgrade safari?

  • Add a search function to my online PDF Portfolio?

    Hi there,
I'm wondering if it's possible to add a search function that searches for keywords within all the documents in my online PDF Portfolio, like there is in the standalone desktop version.
I want to make the PDF's available online but a key function is for users to be able to search for various topics within the documents without reading each and every one of them.
    Best wishes,
    Thorsteinn

Has nobody every wanted this function? It seems to me the key function of PDF portfolio's and it is blatantly missing in the online version. Whats up?!

  • Help with online pdf viewer

My online pdf viewer does not seem to display the menu bar (as in the ones that pop up when you click a link for a form or journal). I have tried F9 and Alt-T, but none of them seem to work.... A little help please?
    Thanks

    Maybe something - maybe not,
Google Chrome has a Google provided plug-in for viewing PDFs.
My read of info in Google's webspace is that this is utilized via a "view..." action.
If you are accessing PDFs via Chrome you may want to visit the application's Help / Communities.
    Be well...

  • Can the online PDF converter convert secure PDFs to Word format?

I have a PDF with copy protection set. Will the online PDF converter still convert it to Word format?

    Amplifying George's reply:
Will Adobe ExportPDF convert any type of PDF file?
Adobe ExportPDF will convert the vast majority of PDF files available today, including PDF files containing scanned documents.
There are a few types of PDF files that cannot be converted, however.
These include, but are not limited to,
    PDF Portfolios,
PDF files that require a password to open the document, or
PDF files that have permissions applied to prevent copying, or altering of the content.
ExportPDF is also not capable of converting hand-written documents to Microsoft Office, due to the non-standard nature of each individual's handwriting.
