Online SAP testing environment

Hello friends,
I am looking for an online SAP testing environment site where i can do my FI configuration practice or alternatively a site where i can get free IDES software download so I can prepare myself for the industry. If you have an idea about how to solve my problem please help me.
Regards
Tsitsi

Hi Srikrithi,
SAP Testing is all about test business process/functionality & outcome using manual/automation testing. For this I find knowledge of some Buniess Process/Functional Module must...but as you are alerady an ABAPer so must be aware of some of them. & Being ABAPer you will be better at White Box Testing. Do not take it as switching to testing & come back to ABAP dev or vice-versa; its just a matter of work responsibilities & your role in the organization. But yes...if you go for automation testing then must have knowledge of QTP or LoadRunner. Search more for term SAP TAO as well.
Hope this will help you to explore more.
Warm Regards,
N. Singh

  • SAP Licensing for a Test Environment

One of our clients has created a test environment physically seperate from the Production environment (That is on two seperate machines). All their purchased SAP B1 licenses are being used in the production system. If you select additional licenses, they are only temporary and expire in 14 days from creation.
How do you get valid licenses into the Test Environment that will always be active without having to reduce the licenses that are allocated to the Production system?

Thank you all for your helpful answers.
I understand about creating a test database in the Production system and it use of the same License Manager
However this does not work if you are trying to test patches or major release upgrades because once you apply the upgrade / patch to the test database in the production environment the code base is now changed and the production database would then be updated.
In order to isolate the test of upgrades, patch levels, major functionality etc., you need to build a separate environment on different hardware to do the testing. That is what we have done.
Since the license server is not shared the separate test environment needs to have a license file that reflects its hardware key.
When I go to create that license file and I specify "Test System" for the system, the license file is only created with temporary licenses which inactivate in 14 days.
I need to know if there is a way to create the license file without the licenses being inactivated and without reducing the number of licenses available to the Production System.

  • Runtime error in F-48( Test environment error in SAPLGLT0 program )

    Hi Expert,
i am getting the run time error while run the F-48 tcode in program "SAPLGLT0" and include "LGLT0FER"
if i do the Extended program check of SAPLGLT0 program i am getting
Test environment error like : The namespace of the program SAPLGLT0 has the setting "C" and cannot be tested A pssible cause for this is that an SAP program is being checked in a customer System
How to correct that ? is any sap note available ?

  • Sap test system needed / sap test system gebraucht

    Hi,
maybe somebody of you could give some hint where I can find a test system for sap in a downloadable version 4.5 upwards. I have an sap mini basis system (mbs) in the version 4.6 (c) , but no valid license key on hand due to the fact that the old one has expired and there would not be any new license key available from sap company itself because of already having done the steps up to the latest version.
If somebody could also advise where to find sap test versions in between 4.5/4.6 and the latest it would fantastic to get to know - I need an test environment for abap programming in the first place.
    Thanks in advance to you...!
    Best regards and wishes !!!
    Hallo,

    Hi again,
during installation the java installation folder needs to be selected. After having chosen this the installation aborts by showing a message with the options retry, view log, stop.
    This message is generated:
An error occurred while processing option SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR1 including Enhancement Package 1 > SAP Application Server ABAP > MaxDB > Central System > Central System( Last error reported by the step :The subkey 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\AntiVirSchedulerService' does not exist on the 'localhost' host.). You can now:
Choose Retry to repeat the current step.
Choose View Log to get more information about the error.
Stop the option and continue with it later.
Log files are written to C:\Programme/sapinst_instdir/NW701/AS-ABAP/ADA/CENTRAL/.
Also some message about my anti-virus software came up saying that there is a problem with with localhost. I have now deinstalled all java from my computer to plainly install the version needed: version jre 1.4.2.x, but I can't find this version in the internet, I mean not in the way that it is obviously the right version. Some description says j2se and other more even though I was googleing for jre 1.4.2 download.
Is there anybody who can advise?
    Thanks for any hint.
    Best regards
    Guido

  • Additional SAP-MI environment via client copy

Hi there. We need to set up an additional SAP-MI environment for UAT (User acceptance test). Can this be done by creating a new client (and using client copy
function) within the existing MI instance?
If so, what are the implications to J2EE engine? Could we use existing
Java stack and just create new JCo connections? Or would we need a new
    Java stack? (Standalone or Add-in?).
Also, what are the implications to the back-end R/3 system (if any)?
    Used versions:
    SAP MI 2.5, SP18
    Oracle 9.2.0.6
    AIX 5.3
    Thanks in advance,
    Benjamin de Rijke

    Hi Benjamin,
As per my understanding as of now MI is not available in SIT system.Once MI is avaliable in SIT system, we need to move all the development objects into SIT system from DEV system.
There is an option of transporting all the objects from one system to other(in the same release NWO4 or NWO4S)(If all the development objects like tables, syncbos, bapis etc are stored in a package in DEV system..that package can be transported to SIT system..i am not sure how far it is going to be feasible..but for sure this is a good option you can try...then all the development objects will be present in SIT system and then we can deploy the application and test it)
Other wise if this transport is not possible then we need to re-create all the tables(objects) etc in SIT system same as in DEV system.
We can connect to multiple backend to one MI client..this should be possible.
Hope this is helpful to some extent
    Cheers,
    Karthick

    System Response
The object will be ignored during the import.
Note: It can be that the import is incomplete when the required SAP objects

  • SAP Testing-beginner

    Hi friends,
I am very new to testing concepts.I am familiar with abap concepts very recently,Wanted to learn testing also.
colud some one please guide to learn the techinuques in SAP testing from the scratch.
I have fwe basic questions tooo....
    1.what is test script
    2.what is test plan
    3.what is test cases
    4.what is automated test scripting
    5.what are automated test tool.
Friends, kindly guide me to walk through this environment.
    Thanks in Advance
    Rinky

I have felt that a test plan and test script is kind of being one and the same.    They are pathways for testing a process or item.   I may or may not be right.
Test cases are a groups of test plans that are grouped together to test different aspects of a process.
Test case for Sales orders could include the following test planes which would be their own scripts.
         Create Order
         Change order
         Add line items
         Deleted line items
         Change qty of line items
         Return order
So each time a change was made to the Sales Order area you would run Test Case “Sales Order” which would include the above listed test cases.
Automated scripting -  A simple text batch file could also be thought as a automated script.  Scripting can be used in day to day processes as well as in testing.   Some common testing scripting tools are eCATT,  WinRunner, LoadRunner, and QuickTest.
To go a little farther, I use Test Director to manage our test plans, and test cases.

  • Test environment SNC

We want to setup first a test environment between SAP CUA and a Sap client (Microsoft ILM).
The requirement in our organization is that the network traffic is secure and encrypted.
So to test if SNC is the solution we need to test this in our landscape.
My question is if you can provide me with a demo/test SNC library so we can test.

    Hi AndrZegers ,
This is Supply Network collaboration (SNC) forum and your query looks like more of security.
You can post your query in security forum.

  • Need to refresh Test environment from Production

    Hi All,
I need to refresh our Test environment from Production.
Can anyone help me with the list of special tools from different vendors to do it?
Any kind of help is appreciated.

    Hi Manoj,
Thanks for your response. I am aware of the system copy.
can you help me with some tools from different vendors that can be an alternative to system copy.
we have categorized the task into 3 categories:
    Database restore
    Client Copy
    Special tools
The third one includes tools from different vendors (for example: TDMS from SAP itself).

  • On maintaining test environment

    Hi ,
I would liketo setup a test environment for DBA in my office .
Will there be any licensing cost for downloading Oracle from OTN for installing in my office test environment .
Let me put it like this .. if I want to say test the installation of Oracle 11g(Imagine I do not have a license for 11g) ..... Do i have to buy any license for that ....
When I mean test .. i just mean testing Installation ....
If I want to test for say another example .... like a 2 node rac on vmware server .. do i need license for that .. I know that it doesnt require license if its for my personal system .. however if its in my office do we require a license ?
Please provide me your valuable inputs ..
    Regards
    Renjith Madhavan

    Asif Kabir,
Be very careful about making such statements. I wouldn't make such a statement on a forum.
    Renjith,
You should check with the Oracle Sales person dealing with your organisation.
You can see some guidelines from
    1. The Software Investment Guide and Price List at http://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/pricing/index.html
    2. The Developer License at the download page at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/indexes/downloads/index.html#database
    See http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/indexes/downloads/index.html and
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/testcontent/standard-license-088383.html (this is the current version -- it might change -- always check the latest version online).
However, you should also consult your Oracle Sales person. Licenses and quantities are negotiated.

  • Service Reference is blocking a deployment on the test environment

    Hello friends,
I made a change in a BPM process and build and deployed on the Development PO envirenment was succesfull and I could check it into the NWDI. When I want to import/deploy the changes into the test environment I get the below error:
I found the service reference and delete it and made another service reference with another ID and I still get this error. It was not a new service reference and it was already deployed on the test.
The system is already restarted but without any success.
Do you have any idea how I can delete this old object that is blocking the deployment?
    Thank you in advanced,
    Kind regards,

In your NWDS, go to Window-->Show View-->Others-->Undeploy View.
Search for your BPM DC, double-click on it and then click on the Black Ball on the table in the right hand side.
This will undeploy all the BPM Components from the test server.
Now, go to your BPM project, delete the exiting WSDL, create a new one and then deploy.
    This should work fine.

  • /smb40/ not in test environment

    Hi everyone,
We developed a program to print smartforms, using include /smb40/... In our test-environment it works without any problem, bu when I transport it to our test-environment, the program generates a short dump saying that he does not find the includes in /smb40/
Can anyone help me to solve this ?
    thanks !!

    I'm sorry Kaluvala,
but I'm having some troubles understanding your answer
The 'program' we use is a module pool. When  I double click on an include (in the test-environment) SAP tells me that there's no such object and he asks me to create one. Is it possible that some reports aren't uploaded ?
If yes, how can I check this ?
    thanks !

  • Is SAP Netweaver environment compatible with CruiseControl open source tool

    Hi All,
Can you please let me know if
Is SAP Netweaver environment compatible with CruiseControl open source tool?
If yes, steps to integrate the same.
    Regards,
    Raj

    Ken,
    Few suggestions from my side.
    >>who supports the code? It's free, so there is >>no 'technical support hotline' to call. For every >>package that we install, we therefore increase our >>workload.
This varies from package to package. If you see Hibernate which is a OR mapping library, you get support for it which is run by a altogether different company but you might not get the support for your other library codes. so..varies with what you are trying to use.
    >>testing strategy - how many hoops do we make the code >>go through before we can be assured that >>it's 'production' ready?
This will also depend on the free source stuff you are trying to use. Say in case of Struts or log4j like packages, you wont find any flaws as the industry is heavily relying on these today. but a new library and yes, you need fair amount of testing for that.
    >>what is the SAP stance on incorporating open source >>code into the J2EE engine? Does this in any way affect >>supportability?
SAP would be the best option to enquire with :).
    >>rapid change - Open source code can change quite >>rapidly, so how do you handle this?
Not necessary you have to upgrade. If a current version suffices your business requirement then stick with it.
Even if you change to a latest version, you might need to tweak with your java versions (say upgrade java also) but the existing functionality in previous versions will continue to work fine though..
    Hope this helps..

  • Correct idea to scale out testing environment and test service pack2 installation

    Hi
I have a sharepoint 2010 farm it has one sharepoint server, one database server
In one server  below services are running
    Central administration service
    SharePoint Server Search
    User Profile Service
    Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Application
so i want to scale out this form  to
    1 application server
    1 web front end server
    1 Search server (index server)
    1 databse server
here how i scale out to this form
1)here how i move  sharepoint  server search service to new  index server and
    2) here how i move  Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Application to new webfront end server
and in this single server  some web appllications are running also how i move these to new wf server
i want to do like this  because i want to test service pack 2 installation, now  sharepoint version is : service pack1
    my actual production environment has
    2 application servers
    2 webfront end servers
    2 index servers
    1 databae server
so this correct idea to scale out testing environment and test service pack2 installation
    adil

    Hi Adil,
The link below describes how to scale SharePoint Web Front-End with only web applications and the search query server  out of one SharePoint server with all roles running.
    http://sharepointsolutions.com/sharepoint-help/blog/2011/02/how-to-scale-out-a-sharepoint-2010-farm-from-two-tier-to-three-tier-by-adding-a-dedicated-application-server/
Now you have two SharePoint server with:
Tier 1 – SharePoint Server dedicated as a Web Front-End (WFE) with only the web application(s) and the search query service running on it
Tier 2 – SharePoint Server dedicated as an Application Server with all of the other service applications running on it, but no web applications or query service
Tier 3 – SQL Server for the databases
Then you would scale out WFE server with web applications from tier1. Now please install a new SharePoint server and join it to the existing farm and deploy it as Web Front Server. Enable the relevant services on Web Front servers per the topology picture
below, and stop the services running on the old server.
