Online Service Assistant-iPhone Not Activated

Hi,
I was just checking the warranty status of my new iPhone 3G S (purchased and activated 26th June 2009) to see the length of technical support I have left. After entering in my serial number I get the following message
+"Our records indicate this product has not been activated. Learn how to activate your iPhone. Please note that warranty service is not dependent on activating your iPhone."+
Any ideas? Should i visit the Apple shop? (Only 5 minutes away)

Visiting an Apple Store might be the best way .. or you can call Apple Support. Since it's Monday morning there, either would work. Likely just some data base glitch .. unless you mis-read or mis-typed the S/N. If the phone is working, it is activated.

    I recently used Apple's Online Service Assistant to order a replacement for my old headphones that came with my iPod (they were falling apart cosmetically). I received my replacement, and Apple received my old defective earphones. But Apple charged me $29. Why? It did not show $29 on any of the receipts I received. The way I understood it was, Apple would charge me $29 ONLY IF I did not return the defective product to Apple within 10 business days. But I returned the defective product well within 10 business days. Yet I was still charged $29, according to my recent credit card statement. Please explain to me how the Online Service Assistant really works, and if all this was supposed to happen.

    Turns out Dave was right, I gave them a call last night and they agreed to send the replacement free of charge, as it was still under warranty. Preauthorization on the credit card is required not to cover for the cost of the call though, but as a guarantee that you're going to send back the faulty item as proof that it's malfunctioned. The preauth should drop off the card, once they receive the returned item and verify it's not working properly.
    I wouldn't think Rogers or Fido would have anything to do with technical maintenance of the iPhone. After all, they are only the service providers for your phone plan, but should not be able to provide wide range of tech support for all the phones they offer. Such issues would generally be redirected to the manufacturer of the phone.

    Symptoms
    Your iPhone may display one of the following messages when you attempt to activate it:

    "The iPhone is not recognized and cannot be activated for service."
    "iTunes was unable to verify your device."
    Resolution
    Perform the following steps if you receive one of the messages above:
    Restart the iPhone.
    Try another means of reaching the activation server and attempt to activate.
    Try connecting to a known-good Wi-Fi network if you're unable to activate using a cellular data connection.
    Try connecting to iTunes if you're unable to activate using Wi-Fi.
    Restore the iPhone.
    If you receive an alert message when you attempt to activate your iPhone, try to place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you're still unable to complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Apple for assistance.
    Additional Information
    If you are asked to enter a password to proceed with activating the iPhone, Activation Lock may be enabled as part of Find my iPhone.

    Recently my ipod earphones broke, and i have been trying to use the online service assistant to order a replacement as it is still under warranty.
    However, as I submit the request at the last stage, apple support error comes up saying that "the transaction could not be completed, try again later"
    Any help?

    Did you go through the registration process? If not, or if you're not sure, go to the Apple Support site and look down the right side until you see "Register my Product". Click on that and you will get to the screen where you can register it. That way it will be registered for sure.

    Restore the phone via iTunes on the computer.
    If there are issues with activating, these are almost always the result of a device that has been hacked or jailbroken. If that is the case no support can be provided here.

    Hello,
    We are receiving the error:
    Asset Intelligence Synchronization Point: Online Service Account is not Provisioned.
    The CM server is a Windows 2012, CM 2012 SP1 & CU1, and SQL 2012. And I am not really sure what it maybe, SUP and our old WSUS server (soon to be retired)
    talk to MS with out issue so I pretty sure it is not network related.

    OK, fixed.  We fixed it by whitelisting the primary site server on the proxy.  Gerry Hampson suggested it here...

    1. Sign into your Microsoft Partner account
    2. Go to Orders & Benefits
    3. Select Download Software
    4. Click on Microsoft Online Services
    5. Under MPN Online Services click Expand products
    6. You should see Windows Intune click this
    7. There is one final link to click
    This should add you Intune licenses to your portal

    The online service to request replacement or repair of iPhone accessory which is still under warrany, seems to be down at the moment. I found similar inquiry from another Apple customer, dated Apr 25, which indicates that the issue might have been in existance since or even before then. Does anyone know when the service is going to be restored, or if there is an alternative way to submit a claim?

  • Phone keeps sending me "Iphone not activated contact your Carrier" after the ios7 update

    So I got the Ios7 update yesterday and it downloaded normally and when it was done I had service for like 30 min. after that it kept send me an error saying "iphone not acitvated please contact your carrier" (im with Tmobile) so i called today and they said to wait a couple days or to get on itunes to activate it so i went to itunes and they said "new carrier update" so i installed it. But no luck, i dont get any service or internet connection. my wifi is down so i have to use the neighbors when ever he is home. So i dont know what to do. I tried to take the sim out and clean it with a cloth, i tried to reset my network setting but no luck. I dont want to reset all setting or restore it. So i dont know what to? any help? BTW i have an iphone 4s

  • Web service transported but not active in QA environment

    Hi all,
    In order to support a template document i've created a web service using the web service tool. All is working fine in DEV and all has been successfully transported to QA environment (I think). The web service objects have been included in the transport using transaction CRMOST_TRANSPORT and I see the web service in the web service tool in QA.
    Problem is that the web service is not active. In the web service tool I see the web service and see that the Active status is still available to be selected. When I select it I get the following errors:
    - Object type does not exist
    - Not possible to get data for service object
    - Activation cannot be performed in this client:
    - Details Changes to Repository objects are not permitted in this client
    I read somewhere that you have to do 'after import functions' for web services but don't know what!? Is it simply a matter of opening the client in QA and reactivating the web service in the Web Service Tool?

    Ihave a question.
    I created a webservice through CRM 7.0 Web Service Tool
    ie we went to Component WS_DESIGN_TOOL and executed the component and we Launched the tool ,
    using tool we created a Web service for Sales Order, Due to missing of some settings I guess it didnt ask for a Transport request and it went and saved in an ' Local Object'.
    Could you please help in explaining as what steps we need to configure to make sure that the web service goes and sits in a Transport which is required in moving it to QA System.

  • Asset Intelligence synchronization point failing to update, Status = Online Service account is not provisioned

    Has anyone seen or dealt with this issue?
    We are running SCCM 2012 R2 CU3 on Win 2008 R2 server and are having problems with our AI synch point where the Online Service Account is showing as not provisioned.  It's on the CAS and it synched months ago so it *was* working. 
    Attempted to uninstall and reinstall thinking that may help, but no luck.  Cannot locate anywhere to input an online service account or how to obtain one and we are not using a proxy to get out. Any help would be appreciated.
