The [2 Day Developer Guide|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28843/toc.htm] would be a good start. (PDF)
Also try [the examples|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28370/loe.htm] in the [PL/SQL Reference|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28370/toc.htm] particularly chapter 2 [PL/SQL Language Fundamentals|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28370/fundamentals.htm#CIHEAFBJ]. • I've tried every online tutorial for timer.delay + experimented... how to make it work in this sitch

    Hey,
I've read literally every single timer.delay tutorial I could find online, on youtube, the official documentation, tons of posts on this forum, etc. What I am trying to say is I looked everywhere before posting for help.
I have a timer running. It runs throughout the game. I need to modify the speed of that timer when a player either hits a certain second(won't work, because the timer is already running) or when someone gets a certain score(can't get it to work, because timer is running).... so my question is how do I get timer.delay to work when the timer is running throughout the entire game. I tried to control the delay by when someone gets a point, but that didn't work either. I am using a trace statement so I see the seconds and the timer speed. the code looks something like
    randomvariable = new Timer(2000,8);
    timer.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, loop);
    timer.start();
    function loop
    // my looping code here
What I posted is psuedo code.
Any ideas on how to make the timer go faster without delay, since I can't get delay to work under the circumstances I explained? Or is there a work around that I don't know about? I will try to give back to the forums by answering other questions. Oh, I am running this on the timeline, not in a .as file. Thanks so much for your help!

That's what I thought. I thought if I set a delay inside the function or in an if statement for the var that  prints out  the timer decrease that it would work. It doesn't. I'm using Adobe AIR for IOS, but I doubt that makes a difference in this case. I write timer.delay=500; that should make the timer go at 500 milliseconds. My trace shows the amount of milliseconds didn't change throughout the application. It is quite bothersome, since everything else works and every guide and the docs say what I am doing should work. Any ideas?
    Thanks.
    Sincerely,
    Ryan Satterfield

  • I'm searching for an online-Tutorial for JAXP

    Hi folks!
I'll work the first time with the JAXP-package and don't know how to handle it. Is there any useful tutorial in the web? I only want to use a parser to read and write xml-files in/from a JTextArea.
Which parser is the best one for this kind of work? DOM, Xerces or Xalan?
Thanks for your answers and greetings from Hamburg

A very good tutorial of JAXP is available at
    http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/dist/1.1/docs/tutorial/
    hope this helps.

  • Suggestion for online tutorial for advanced java concepts?

I'm a University of Maryland graduate with a pretty solid grasp of core Java; however, this training didn't include most of the 'java in a web environment' technologies and similar advanced concepts. I'm looking to spend some time teaching myself concepts of struts, hibernate, EBJ, anything involving beans really.
I've tried googling the concepts individually but I keep finding sites with only small examples or that cover only the most generic overview of the concepts. I'm looking for a (free) online resource that will cover these concepts in a structured, mroe indepth manner. Ideally one that includes some sort of programing assignments so I can try to 'learn by doing.' I was hoping someone could give a link to any resources they have used and recommend.
    Thank you

A quick glance suggests they have good detailed information, but I still learn best by doing. I don't suppose anyone else knows any good examples of mini programing 'homework' assignments I can work on to get some experience using various technologies. I could make something up myself, but I'm more likely to actually do the work if I have a mini-curriculum to focus on. Left to my own devices I'll sit down and start studying only go get distracted by somethi..LOOK A KITTY!I think you're better off trying to create a program or utility that solves a non-programming problem that you're currently dealing with. That's what I do, and it gives both motivation and the reward of having a bunch of utilities that I use now to create and send out patient letters and what not. To further motivate you, I'll in fact insist that you do this, OR THE KITTY DIES!

  • Tutorial for managing bookmarks in iPhone environment?

I hate asking newbie questions but here goes. Searched for this but found threads regarding desktop environment.
When I open Safari on my iPhone 3CS, I see bookmarks imported from my pc when I synched. Don't need all those so deleted most. Here's the problem: if I type in a new address in Safari addres field at top, and go to that page, then do Add Bookmark, it doesn't show up the next time I open Safari and look at the bookmarks. If I start to re-type it in the address field, the full link and title appear below, so I know it's storing it somewhere.
Can someone just point me toward an online tutorial for manageing bookmarks within the iPhone environment not the desktop?
    Thanks!

it's one of the dangers to BYOD.....The best way to manage this is education(unless you are ready for MDM).
Granted that can be a bigger pain in the buttocks than working around it.
What I tell people(having had this happen to me a couple of times) is when it's time to change your password
1.) Make sure you have all your devices with you
2.) disable the wireless on everything
3.) change password via your laptop
4.) enable one device, and go change the password there < rinse repeat for subsequent devices.
Now, when the company I was working for moved to a MDM, the issue went away on my phone and tablet, as the mail settings were controlled by the MDM, so when i changed my password, it pushed to my other devices.
    HTH,
    Steve

I just bought a MBA and I need to move my photos and itunes to an external hard drive (from my old MacBook Pro) because they won't fit on the Air.  I got the photos moved fine and I followed an online tutorial to move the necessary files for itunes, but it didn't work.  The files copied fine, but when I tell iTunes on the Air to look at the external drive for the library, it doesn't find anything.  What I copied was the entire iTunes Media folder.  So, how do I move the necessary iTunes files from my old Pro to a external drive so I can access them from my new Air?  Whew!

iTunes- How to move the library to an EHD
After you move the library you need to open iTunes by first depressing the OPTION key then launching iTunes. You will be given a choice of which library to use. This can then be made a permanent change, if you wish, in the Advanced section of iTunes preferences.

  • Looking for a comprehensive online tutorial or book

    Hello Guys!
I am looking for a comprehensive online tutorial or book that would contain all steps involving java web application development.
For example, it would be cool if it would contain requirement definition, design, implementation, etc. and how all that is applied to java web application development. Also, it would be neat if it would provide templates regarding diagrams for each stage of the development.
I thank you guys in advence for your help,
    John

    Thanks benubach!
There appears to be a lot of information but it seems
that most of it is simply a Java tutorial. Maybe I
simply can't quite find the particular doc on that
    page.
I am interested in a web program development guide
including how each of the steps (requirement
definition, design, implementation, etc.) in the
process are created. It also be nice if the info
would focus on using java/jsp in the implementation
of each of steps in the process.
    Thanks,
JohnI doubt such a document exists. I was hoping to find something similar that didn't resolve around a trivial case, but gave up after a while. This seems to be something that is learned more with working with others as well as reading many little things and building on each other.

  • Two questions:  how do Skype and iChat compare for group video?  quality, reliability, cost, etc are important.  2) Is my MobileMe ID what I need to use in the window in making an iChat buddy?  It only says AIM above the window, online tutorial differs.

Two questions:  1) How do Skype and iChat compare for group video?  Quality, reliability, cost, etc are important.  2) Is my MobileMe ID what I need to input in the window in making an iChat buddy?  It only says AIM above the window, online tutorial differs, saying MobileMe, AIM, GoogleTalk (Jabber) all work. Hi,
IChat uses better Video Compression than Skype does.
On a top flight Mac you can send a 640 X 480 pixel frame up to 30 frames a sec.
    Skype can't match this.
iChat in Video is Peer to Peer. (you can actually Log out of the Buddy list)
Skype seems to borrow something from everyone's bandwidth to make connections.
What do you mean by Business account Tracking ?
iChat Adds (or can add) the First Name, Last Name of your Buddies and create an Address Book Entry
Whether you mark those cards connected with a  company is up to you.
(I have heard of issues with earlier version of iChat and the Address Book that "saw" the Company Name as the part of the Name and linking several Screen Names to the one name
Audio on a Mac using Skype tend to be the same as the streaming needs are less.
However you have to rely on any PCs audio abilities from PCs which may not be to the same standard.
Mac to PCs in iChat and AIM can be difficult though.  (It should work but it rarely as simple as Plug and go)
Skype may suit your needs better on ocassions.

I am seeking the tutorial for V6.1.1

    Hokanst
many thanks for your effort. The challenge I have is that the text and images in the online (PDF) tutorial to which I refer, does not reflect the screen images of the Xcode application.

  • Adobe DPS - pop-up panels video tutorial for Indesign Digital Magazine problem?

    Hello Everyone
Trying to get info in a video tutorial for pop-up panels tutorial for a Digital Magazine I'm working on.
Had advice to do a Multi-State Object - but this is exactly what I need it for and would love a video link i(f any is around).
Doing a digital Tech Magazine - have about 12 images on a page.
Want to touch one image and want a pop-up text box with Tech info on this product come up - I want all other images on page to ghost out on doing this - and then I need a button to click to close the panel down and go back to document and ready to click on another picture.
Is there a tutorial online on how to do this. Hope someone has a link pleaae.
    thanks: Daz

Here's the best way to attack this as a beginner.
Create multipage InDesign file with number of pages being equal to the
number of states you want for your MSO.
On the first page design the base state. Copy/paste everything to the second
page and now design the second state.
On and on until you're done. Now group everything on each page and
copy/paste in place everything into one page. Create the MSO.
This is going to give you a pretty heavy file but will give you a good
foundation for the thought process needed to do this.

  • GOOD tutorial for java?

Hi, I am looking for a good tutorial for java. I cant understand my teacher's lectures, because they are always presented as a slide show and she just reads the slides in a monotone voice. (Not to mention her thick asian accent). So any one?
*Note=A good tutorial is the one that shows coding examples, analysis of concepts etc
