Online videos stopped working
My MacBook was recently autoupdated, which caused some online videos to stop working. The page appears blank, as if no player is loaded. Could anybody help?
My OS is 10.7.3
Processor 2.66 GHz
Memory 4GB
My Safari version is 5.1.3

My audio and video stops working. It starts working again when I reboot. I'll leave the computer for a while, maybe overnight, and when I return the audio and the video on the iMac will not function. When I click Play on iTunes or You Tube nothing happens.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated!Slight update.

It gave me some of the links I had been desperately looking for. I have an intel on board GPU and the GTX 675 MX. Because of MSI's bios, there's not a lot I can do in there to ensure that the computer is using the GTX over the Intel. I found some settings which give preferences for which card to use for which programs. PPro had the Nvidia already selected, but I went so far as to completely remove the Intel from all of the settings. Still no change. Today I went as far as to actually disable the intel GPU in the device settings. I rebooted and I wasn't getting anything in PPro. I switched her to software acceleration and it asked me if I wanted to delete the previews. I said yes and now she can see again. Of course I have NO clue yet if this is a permanent change or not. I do want the Hardware Acceleration, so leaving it in Software Mode is not a long term solution. It gets her working tonight, so on that note I'm happy.
Time will tell if this helps or hinders, but it's some sort of movement. -

My Youtube videos stopped working on my iphone 5s. I have the latest updates on the phone and deleted and reinstalled the Youtube app. Didn't work.
I had major issues using VPN passthrough with PPTP on the RV180W through a PPPoE internet connection. In the end I gave up - I think there are some PPTP servers that the RV180 just has trouble with. I had no problems with 3 other routers straight out the box. Unfortunately I lost access to the VPN server before Cisco could fix.

Its interesting that it used to work and now doesn't - maybe Verizon or the VPN server have had configuration changes? Or maybe your antivirus has created a different profile for the different router - would be worth temporarily disabling any firewal/antivirus?
It would be good to try a different non-Verizon router if you can get your hands on one to see if Verizon network changes now require special features/settings on the router. -
All Music & Videos stop working on Macbook Pro
I've had my 15" Macbook Pro for 6 months now. If my Macbook has been on for a while, at some point all media randomly stops working; when Quicktime tries to open a file it opens it partially and freezes at the "loading movie" sign. If iTunes is already open before this problem occurs, it will work fine, but if I close iTunes & try to open it again it will crash and I'll have to force quit it. Videos and music in web browsers such as Firefox and Safari either won't work or causes the browsers to crash. Along with this programs like Photobooth crash. The only hint I've got to what's going on is that when I open After Effects after all this happens it freezes upon opening whilst "initialising Media Core," and Sibelius does the same whilst "Initialising Playback System"
So I'm guessing there's something wrong with my Macbook Pro's "media core"/"playback system".
The only way to sort this problem out is to log out & log back in again, but after a while the same thing happens and all media stops working. Having to close all my applications to log out and log back in again can get really annoying. This problem started about a month or so ago and I have no idea what triggered it or how to fix it.
I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this sort of behaviour with their Mac and know how to fix it?

Try using Disk Utility to do a Disk Repair, as shown in this link, while booted up on your install disk.
You could have some directory corruption. Let us know what errors Disk Utility reports and if DU was able to repair them. Disk Utility's Disk Repair is not perfect and may not find or repair all directory issues. A stronger utility may be required to finish the job.
After that Repair Permissions.
No need to report Permissions errors....we all get them.

USB Video stopped working with 3.1.8 update
I have been using iChat video with my USB camera for a while with the help of iChatUSBCam. The new update of iChat (3.1.8) included support for USB cameras and once installed my USB camera stopped working with iChat. It just reports the camera is in use by another application. I've been browsing for answers for a while and have tried many things:
- Restart in various combinations of unplugging and plugging in the camera
- Reinstalled the Macam driver
- Reinstalled Quicktime
- Uninstalled iChatUSBCam (since iChat is supposed to work without it now - I think...)
- Reinstalled iChatUSBCam (v 2.2.1 - current)
It's a Logitech Quickcam for Notebooks Deluxe. It continues to work fine with Skype and the the Macam camera tool. I'm using Skype for now (on tour for 6 weeks and use it to video call home) but the quality is crap compared to what iChat used to do.

Thanks for your help!! I tried these things before, but tried them again in the order you suggested with no success. I'm pretty sure it is not a UVC compliant camera. It's not on Logitech's list of UVC cameras.

If I try it without the Macam drivers it doesn't show up as a camera is connected at all.
It's so frustrating because it was working great with iChatUSBCam until the recent update. It still works in Skype with no problems, but I'd rather be using iChat if I can - much better video quality.

Most Adobe Flash videos stop working soon after startup?
Most sites videos dont work except for youtube and some others. I have tried many things and just recently i tried resetting my host file to default. After I ran the 'fix it' program from the website below and restarted my computer all flash player videos worked! but after about 2 minutes they would stop working if I opened a new video or reloaded the page. It does the same thing for all browsers. I have restarted my computer several times to make sure. It could have nothing to do with resetting my host file because i have never tried to play a video within the first 2 minutes of startup before. I have windows 7.

Embedded videos and youtube videos stopped working since last update. Any clues
All video functions on my IMac have stopped working since updates on Saturday. Videos embedded in web page and on youtube have stopped working.
Assuming you are using Safari ...
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
Back to Safari. Press Command + Option + E to empty the Safari cache.
Quit and relaunch Safari, try a video. -

hi all
i've got a problem with a Flash website that has been driving me crazy.
i have a Flash website that was built for us in late 2009, it uses ActionScript 2 and i have been maintaining it in CS3 on a Mac.
the site is structured as a heirarchy of swf files, and loads XML files to specify text content, image locations, and Youtube videos.
all this has worked fine until sometime in the past month or two. the problem now is that the embedded Youtube videos no longer load, although nothing has changed in the code. unfortunately i don't know exactly when the videos stopped loading.
in the Activity Window of Safari i can see the URLs for the Youtube crossdomain file (http://i1.ytimg.com/crossdomain.xml), Youtube still for the video, and the Youtube player (http://s.ytimg.com/yt/swfbin/cps-vfl2P81QA.swf). however neither the still frame nor the player skin load.
if i run the site directly from my hard drive (with my Flash Player security preferences set to allow the swf to access the internet), the videos do load and play, so i am guessing that it is some kind of security domain issue.
if i run the site in Flash CS3 in debug mode, when i navigate to a video page, although the video loads and plays, i get lots of these warnings (i've edited the path and file name):

SecurityDomain 'http://s.ytimg.com/yt/swfbin/cps-vfl2P81QA.swf' tried to access incompatible context 'file:///pathname/site.swf'
i think the solution is probably fairly simple, however i don't know enough about ActionScript to figure it out...
any help would be much appreciated!i should add that the same thing happens on three different servers, on Safari or Firefox, and on Windows or Macs, so it seems pretty likely that it is a change in either Youtube embedding or Flash Player that has broken the embedding...

I just upgraded to Leopard doing a clean install. I went to try a video chat with someone and it would not connect at all. So I went to try the test name appleu3test01 which also failed to connect.
I use a Westell 2200 modem with static NAT on to forward all ports my computer. I have tested to see if all ports are correctly opened, and indeed they are. I decided to connect using PPPoE directly from OS X and video started working! However, after a few hours, I went to try again and it failed.
Why would this randomly stop working like that? Even if I don't use the computer it stops working after a few hours.
What could be causing this randomness? Oh, I have the firewall set to Allow all incoming connections, too.I figured out the problem!
Turning off Internet Sharing resolved the issue and allowed me to connect properly. I know this is not a work around everyone can do, but it works. We shouldn't have to turn that off, though. =[ -
Music/Video stops working until restart
Lately I've been having a problem on my iPhone 4S recently where sometimes I can't' start playing music or movies (even ones taken on the camera). If I tap play nothing happens. Sometimes sound playback of any kind won't work. I have to restart the phone to fix this. This also sometimes affects Siri since she can't see my music library.
I started seeing this in iOS 6. Any ideas what's going on (bad app maybe)?That has nothing to do with it. I have problems playing videos I took with the camera when this happens. Basically the entire audio playback functionality of the phone stops working.

After installing Intel inf update for chipset my Windows XP Pro SP1 stop booting and freeze (if i use Detonator 61 or higher) or just use standart VGA driver (if i use Detonator version 41).
If i remove Intel chipset (i tried all versions) - video is working good

YouTube videos embedded were working fine until today? Now they error: "An error occurred, please try again later. Learn More.
The videos still work perfectly in Chrome, and work okay in Safari (by installing the "ClickToPlugin" extension to Safari, the videos now play in HTML5 mode but no longer link to You Tube).
In Firefox, they don't play or link to You Tube anymore. I updated to the latest Firefox and Flash. I've been researching this all day today and going back and forth with my hosting support team at Site Ground, but we have not been able to resolve this issue, so I am contacting you out of desperation.
Can you please help me to get the You Tube Videos working properly in Firefox?

I thought I had tried removing "nocookie" yesterday to no avail, so at first I figured since I had all ready tried it that it wouldn't help.
Today I thought what the heck let me try it again, as I am desperate for a solution. Amazingly enough it fixed the issue! Firefox is now playing the YouTube videos and linking to YouTube again. Hurray!
Also, in Safari, the YouTube videos are playing and linking to YouTube again, and the play button is back. That's just great!
