Only 1 location at a time?

Just getting set up with my iPad. Already using airport and apple tv in two locations in my house with two seperate sound systems. On itunes I have the option to select "Multiple Speakers" and can play itunes in my whole house. Is it true that I can only select one location on AirPlay on the ipad? This kind of defeats the purpose for me.
Would love it if there was a way to select mutiple on airplay.

I can definately do that, but I like the idea of being able to just pick up the ipad and start playing music in all rooms without needing the laptop. Not a huge deal, but seems like something simple that would have been programed. I

Stream to more than 1 location at a time?

Is it possible to stream to more than one Airport Express at a time? I'd like to be able to hear my itunes in the family room AND upstairs (and also on my office computer) so I don't have to switch locations all the time as I move through the house. Is that possible?

As currectly designed, iTunes does not support streaming of music to more than one Airport Express at a time.
The only workaround is to log on to your Mac under two different user names. Run iTunes under each user name, with each running copy streaming to a different Airport Express. Switch between running users with the "fast user switching" feature of the MacOS. Problem with this workaround - if you want to play the same music to both Airport Express devices, it is virtually impossible to get the sound from the two in sync.

Search more than one location at a time?

I spend a lot of my time searching for files in our studio (I maintain the archives, backups, file systems, etc.) and I have to search across a number of locations (a number of local drives, specific locations/folders on various servers, etc.). Right now all our machines in the studio are on Tiger and I'm considering upgrading to 10.5, but the one major roadblock I've come across thus far is the ability to search various locations in 10.5. In 10.4 I was able to select multiple locations (local machine, specific folders on file and archive servers, etc.) all at once to find what I need. In 10.5 I've been unable to find a way to search more than one location at a time. Am I missing something, or has Apple removed the ability to search like this? This would be a serious roadblock for me as it would mean each search I do would have to be done 2-5 times, depending on what I'm looking for and where it could be found. I've even tried created a "search" folder which contains alias folders to all the places I'd normally search, but this didn't work.
If anyone has any advice on how I could possible do this, it would be greatly appreciated!

Yea, I understand how to search in 10.5 (either using the magnify glass in top right, or command-F) but what I'm trying to figure out is how to search "This Mac" AND a folder on a server at the same time. In 10.4 you could just click on the places you wanted to search, but in 10.5 this option is gone. When you search "This Mac" (no matter how you customize your search), it only searches the Mac your on and mounted drives via USB and FireWire. It doesn't search other networked computers and servers and you have no option to search a specific folder on a networked computer or server unless you actually navigate to that folder and run the search (at which point you're only searching that folder and no longer also searching the "This Mac").
You can customize a lot of things, but what feature that's lacking in the 10.5 searching is the ability to search specific/various locations across a network.
In the studio it would be specific the computer I'm working on (a Mac Pro [not Macbook Pro]) and it's connected to 20 other Macs (G5 towers, Intel iMacs and Mac Pros) and two servers (Xserves). I only need to search specific locations on these systems, which you can't seem to do in 10.5. In fact, I haven't even found a way to search all the computers on the network, let alone specific locations on these computers on the network, all at once.
I've been trying to figure this out all weekend (at home) via the following setup:
- Intel iMac
- External FireWire drive mounted on Intel iMac
- G4 Server "connected" via Intel iMac
In each of these locations I've placed the following folders:
#1 - FIND THIS FILE - IMAC DESKTOP (on iMac desktop)
#2 - FIND THIS FILE - FW HD (on external FW drive mounted to iMac)
#3 - FIND THIS FILE - G4 DESKTOP (on G4 Server desktop connected to iMac)
When I run the search, if I select "This Mac" it finds both folders #1 & #2, but NOT #3.
The only way I can get the search to find #3 is to navigate via Finder to the G4 and run a search. But, now it's only searching the G4 Server and thus only find #3 and NOT #1 or #2.
I can either search "This Mac" (and mounted drives) OR the G4 Server, but not both.
At this point I have tried everything I can to get this to work, but nothing. I believe there is NO WAY to search various locations (especially various specific locations) across the network and that Apple has removed this ability in 10.5. I would LOVE if someone could prove me wrong!?

How to reset the location of a Time Machine taken to a different time zone?

I have recently moved my Time machine to a different country and time zone. I have reset the whole thing, entered the right time zone in the manual set up, but it still displays the old location when automatically searching for time zone. Also, when using an iPod Touch and Google earth or Maps, it shows the old location as the current one. How do I reset the location on my Time Machine to match the current one?

+I had done that and it does show the correct time on my machine. My question however was about the location setting and it displays my former address and not the current one.+
There are only two settings on the Time Capsule related to location and time.
Open AirPort Utility, click Manual Setup
Click the Time Capsule tab below the row of icons and you will see time settings and time zone settings
Then click the Wireless tab and then click Wireless Network Options to see the settings for Country location.

There are a number of different alerts that can be played on the iPhone. Have you turned the mute switch on? That is located on the side of the phone. When it is in the down/on position (the orange is showing) you should not get any sound alerts. Also, it could be an SMS, a voicemail, an email, a 3rd party alert (if you have particiular apps that provide alerts). You would need to check all of those settings, but with the mute switch on you should not get any sound alerts.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can only locate your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely.

Unable to locate labview run time engine (lab view 8.5)

Hello I have a problem whit the labview 8.5 installer. I have created I project with included a .vi file (a simple panel wich control a serial port, with parameters (baud rate, stop bits, ...)), then I have created an application for this file (.exe) and then the installer (I have included the labview run time engine 8.5). When I run the setup.exe I have the following error message:
Unable to locate labview run time engine, the application require a labview run time engine 8.5 or compatible...
What I'm missing??

I intsalled version 8 of run time engine and acrtivated software. Now I am trying to run compiled application provided to me by third party.
When I click on application it says
Unable to locate LV run time engine
Test server requires a version 6.0 or compatible LV engine.
How do I know if the engine I installed and activated is running and is it supposed to be able to execute a program which is expectin rev 6 of the rund engine?

Process inbound Idocs only one at a time

I'm searching for a solution to the following problem:
We are receiving ORDERS-Idocs into our R/3 4.6C-system. These Idocs are processed by our own Z-function module. The function module's coding should assure that e.g. the first idoc of each day sent by a certain customer should create a new sales order (VA01), whereas the following idocs of that same customer should only add items to that sales order (VA02).
To make this work, we must make sure that no two idocs of the same sender are processed simultaneously, or even better that the function module is running only once at a time. I tried the following practices, which didn't satisfy our needs:
- create own ENQUEUE/DEQUEUE object and call the ENQUEUE at the beginning of my function module - didn't work!
- use GET PARAMETER ID to read a flag and SET PARAMETER ID to set the flag - didn't work, second idoc was too fast!
- write a record into own DB table and check existing entry with SELECT SINGLE FOR UPDATE - worked only sometimes, needs COMMIT WORK.
- check if there are any flags you can set in WE20 - couldn't find any!
Does anyone have a idea for my problem?

Hi Klaus,
form the mentioned options, I would give enqueue / dequeue a second try.
I would use customer (/sender) as key field for your locking object.
If you try to set the lock right in the beginning of your FM, whole customer should be locked for processing. Second test is of course, if already a sales order exists.
Maybe here the problem occurs: when you have some parts in update task, select for sales order is not successful for some (micro-)seconds.
Solution for this part: use synchronic booking / commit work and wait. Maybe make a test with a select for VBAK in the end of your FM to test existence -> if not successfull, you know you identified your problem.
If this is your problem, you should make a new enqueue after commit (because it will be deleted by commit) and wait until DB gives you new VBAK entry.
I would start with a test, why all this different locking options don't work (instead of looking for a different locking option): make a select after your sales order creation. If this is not successfull, then here is your starting point.

If you want a Picture in Picture effect, stack one still on top of the other with a connect edit. Use Transform to scale and reposition the top image.

Flashbuilder has the ability to create and run Air content from the IDE, to actually usean Air App outside of the IDE you need to install Air.
Flashbuilder install includes 2 sdks, the 3.5 sdk for 'backward' compatibility with Flexbuilder and for targeting flashplayer 9, the 4.x SDK for Flashbuilder and targetting flashplayer 10.0 and above.
As far as fair use is concerned Adobe have had fair use software licensing for a while, single user 2 devices is not a problem, what is not clear is if you can use the software on both devices at the same time.

Rajagopal.pngr :- It is only a holding charge, it is not a permanent charge. If it isn't refunded within a few days or so (and it quite possibly won't be over a weekend) then you can query the charge with Apple.

Delay on playing an instrument (only at the first time)

I'm new to Mainstage and have the following problem:
Always I open my concert, there is a small delay in all instruments in all patches. But ONLY at the first time, I play the instrument (hit the key). For the rest of the performance everything works fine ... How can I get rid of that??
My work-around right now is, to mute the Main Audio at the soundcheck and play every instrument/patch once ... :-(

This note is very useful but into the solution the point 3 is not correct !
3. Modify the servername parameter to indicate the fully qualified servername.domain

I had this problem both with Viewer and Plus...so instead to change the server name parameter (into the Apache/Apache/conf/httpd.conf file) with my complete URL (http://gnvdev.ote.gr:7779/discoverer/plus), I just write my right server name:
Example
After the installation of the Discoverer 1og server, into the httpd.conf file it was written automatyically: ServerName gnvdev
I just modified in ServerName gnvdev.ote.gr and both Viewer and Plus started to work perfectly at the first time.
I hope that this hint will be useful for you and others in the Discoverer forum !!!

Alerts only working half the time, phone only rings half the time on incoming calls,settings all ok
