Only 2.71GB left with new apps./no content! HELP!

Loaded up 1.1.3 and then new applications last night. I thought all was well but then found i couldn't add any more to the Touch 8GB I have.
Now tried to take all music, podcasts, video, photos etc off the Touch and then read the memory size.............2.71GB left......4.57GB taken up by 'Other'.
Can anyone help, surely it shouldn't take up that much space.

The 1.1.2 & 1.1.3 upgrades will always be available via itunes the open question is that will you have to pay again for the Jan applications ? Not sure this has been answered anywhere and will be a bit of a support problem for apple if not resolved. All the other content on your touch is backed up in itunes (and maybe offline on a dvd/hard drive etc..) these 5 apps cannot be backed up anywhere. Not sure if this situation would be the same for games on an ipod classic/5G? Are these backed up if the user does a full restore? Best feature would be another entry in the itunes library column for applications which show them backed up on the local computer..

It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:

If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

I have tried to open old session i have done in garage band and many of the effects and instruments I have used will not show up. The system seems to have a bug.

If the graphical user interface looks broken, that is quite often a problem of corrupted user preferences - have you tried to remove the preferences file, as described in the FAQ

Here is again the short version:
Quit GarageBand, if it is running.
Open your User Library in the Finder. It is hidden in MacOS X Lion, so use the Finder's "Go" menu:
Finder > GO hold down the "Options" key, until the library appears in the menu, select it.
In the window that opens, open the folder "Preferences" and remove the file:com.apple.garageband.plist and com.apple.garageband.plist.lockfile
Then try again to run GarageBand and download the loops.
The preferences file stores all you user settings that you set using the "Preferences" panel in GarageBand, also the layout of the GarageBand window and the location of your recent projects. You will have to enter these settings again after removing the file.

Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

Cannot sync iPhone with new apps using iTunes

My question is I am unable to sync my applications or even music or videos using iTunes, I use different computers to sync my iPhone, and one in particular but that particular system too has greyed out everything on me in iTunes and doesn't allow me to sync either songs videos, photots or applications.... and gives me a warning that I will loose all the existing apps or songs on my iPhone and whatever songs, apps..are present in the iTunes library would be added to my iPhone.
I want to keep existing songs, apps.. and also the new apps and songs from this itunes can it be done.

The iPhone can sync iTunes content (music, videos, apps, photos, etc.) from one computer only. Trying to sync iTunes content with a second computer will result in iTunes erasing the content from the first computer. However, non-itunes content such as contacts, calendars, mail settings, notes, etc. (anything in the Info pane) can be synced from another computer.

Is any one tired of buying apple products to have them die or become obsolete in 1 to 3 years? I have 2 Ipod touch 5 nanos 1 pad out of all 3 are useable. Batteries die or you can't upgrade to use them with new apps. BIG WASTE OF MONEY.

I have gone through so many apple products to have the battery go out in 1 year or become obsolete in 3 years. I don't believe new apps can't be made to work with older devices and batteries should last more than a year. At this point I feel it's like so much in our world to force us to buy new or use our 3 year old ipod touch as a glorified MP3 player. I have a box full of apple devices that aren't working or can't be upgraded, I just purchased a nano7 to replace my nano 4 ( the battery dead) this will be my last Apple product until they start standing behind there products like they use to. I have two old ipod classics ( 6 and 7 years old), an ipod nano, the original iphone, iphone 3gs, iphone 4, iphone 4s and an iphone 5. All still work just fine.
You may be the exception.

Repeat of January Upgrade Problems coming with new apps?

hey everyone,
i have been talking to a few of you about losing the january upgrade after an OS restore and an ipod restore, if you are unsure about this there are a few threads in this forum that talk about it. do you guys think that the same thing will happen when the new apps come out (fingers crossed). If we have to pay for them, will they be stored on our hard drives in a hidden file somewhere waiting to be wiped with an OS restore like the january upgrade?? what do you guys think??

Once you have copied the "iPod touch App Pack 4A93.ipa" file to the computer with your home library, make a new folder named Mobile Applications in the correct location, and place the "iPod touch App Pack 4A93.ipa" file there. Open iTunes and sync your iPod touch.

Even I checked the required configuration : technical installation and configuration of one app from A - Z but still getting lots of javascript error.

New news app is working fine with small URL. When i try to use below length of url application is not saving the URL even we have replaced ~ with "&#126".

There is no problem. As you said the notebook supports Line-in; headphone & S/PDIF jack and Microphone jack.
If you want to connect the HiFI or another device you have to choose the headphone & S/PDIF jack. Only this port provides the audio outputting.
The both another jacks provide only the function for signal (sound) receiving!
My notebook provides the same jacks and I have connected the notebook to HiFI (5 speakers) via Y-audio cable like this one:

My laptop is only showing the homescreen with no apps and just the spinning wheel. What's wrong?

A little history of the problem...My MacBook pro had been very slow lately, however I kept putting off getting it looked at for several reasons. Anyways, today I was laying in bed on and off using my laptop because I'm sick and trying to get some work done. When I went to pick my laptop up it was frozen with the spinning wheel, so I restarted it. After that everything uploaded fine, but when I went to click on Safari it never loaded and again just the spinning wheel. So restart again because it was unresponsive to anything else, I then pressed whatever combination to get me to recovery mode (did I preface this with I know nothing about computer systems and such, well yeah I dont). I tried the disk utility option and I also reinstalled OS X. After 2 hours it's done downloading and it let me login (I have a password on it) but now the home screen is up with no apps and the wheel is still spinning. Have I done something irreparable? Will that wheel ever stop spinning?? What do I do? Any help will be greatly appreciated..

Thank you, I was able to get it into Safe Mode and I just used it like that yesterday to backup a lot of my files. I just shut it down and restarted it and it's still freezing up. I clicked on systems preferences and after several minutes it finally opened but the wheel is now just spinning and it won't stop.

The lowest Peopletools version supported within HRMS9 is 8.48, which is perfectly understandable because HRMS9 has been built on PT8.48.

Try resetting your iPad >    Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Then try purchasing an app.
To see the balance, type this web address in the Safari menu bar:   http://store.apple.com/us/account/home
When the page opens, click: Check the balance of a gift card
