Only 2 rings before going to voicemail!

Hi, my lumia 820 only rings twice before it goes to voicemail. This often isn't long enough to get across the room! How do I get it to ring more than that? I can't find out anywhere
Thanks!

Call divert is a network function. While it is possible to change some settings by sending shortcodes to the network from the phone, not all networks use the same codes or offer the same settings. The simplest way to deal with this is to contact your network support and request they change the settings for you as required.

How do you set the number of rings before going to voicemail.

This is the code for extending the ringing time with Vodphone... I've set it on a few phones and it works. The 121 portion of the code if the voicemail number so if another network is different, it's that bit that you change.
The 30 at the end is the number of seconds it rings, I think you can also change that to 20 or 25 or whatever you fancy.
Tap the phone icon to bring up the phone keypad
Type in the following code as if dialing a number: *61*121*1130# then press call.
You'll get an on screen message saying you've changed the voicemail settings (or something like that).

  • How do you change the number of rings before going to voicemail on ios7

my phone only rings for like 4 rings then goes to voicemail I need it longer help!?!?

You cannot change that, it is not user programmable. That is handled by your carrier, and it is not based on the number of rings, it is based on time. Call your carrier and see if they can extend the time for you. They may not be able to do this.

  • Change length f ring before going to voicemail?

Is it possible to adjust how long the phone rings before it goes to voicemail?

This is a "carrier" setting that has to be done by your cell carrier...some allow you to set that in voice mail settings (when you call into voice mail) other you have to talk to operator...some have special code to send via keypad...but there is no iPhone setting as Voice mail is taken care of at the carriers servers.

  • How can I set the number of rings before going to voicemail?

Help please..... my phone rings more than 10+ times before rolling to voicemail. How do I set the number of rings I want? I am missing calls as callers will not wait through through so many rings to get to vm if I am unable to pick up the call. Thank you for any help you can give!

You can't. Try contacting your phone carrier as they handle voicemails.

hi, i have call forwarded my calls from my macpro (skype) to my iphone4s and want to change the number of rings to 15 seconds.  Can someone help please?

You'd need to contact your carrier. They're the only ones who can change that.

  • With a Sprint iPhone, how can I shorten the number of rings before going to voicmail?

Using a Sprint iPhone, how can I shorten the number of rings before going to voicemail?

23 rings? Really. My friends iPhone rings 4 times then goes to voice mail.
I know on Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile the number of rings is set through the carrier. Have you called Sprint?
Here is the manual, which is also bookmarked in Safari on your iPhone and can be added for free to your iBooks app through the iBookstore: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf

How do you adjust how long the iphone rings for before going to voicemail? Mine diverts after only a couple of rings.

I believe you do that through your phone service provider.  I wonder if you have unheard messages in your voice mailbox.  I think some carriers use that mechanism - diversion to voicemail faster if the recipient has unheard messages.
I do not believe you can change this directly on your iPhone.

  • How do you set the number of rings before going to voice mail?

I can't find the option to shorten the number of rings before going to voice mail, any ideas?

It's preset by some phone software but you still may have some sound settings for the answer time. Go to settings and check under call answer settings.

  • Only 3 rings before voicemail.

How do I extend the number of rings before voicemail kicks in - my 8520 only rings 3 times - not enough to find it and answer it.  Missing loads of potentially important calls.

As a norm, most all carriers have a default 15 seconds of ringtime until the voicemail picks up.
If you do need additional ring time before voicemail:
The simplest method is to call your carrier and request a longer ring time, up to 30 seconds.
If you have a GSM based phone, some have had success by dialing this number from your phone: **61*XXXXXXXXXXX**30#
Replace XXXXXXXXXXX with the number of your carrier voicemail center (find it by looking at your Phone Dialer > Options > VoiceMail > Access Number. Put your access number in place of the Xs above.
For example, the T-Mobile voice mail access number is 18056377243, and thus the string to dial would be **61*18056377243**30#
Replace the 30 at the end of the string with your desired seconds. For most carriers, 30 seconds is the longest allowed

  • HT1689 How can I extend the number of times my phone rings before going to answerphone

How can I extend the number of times my Iphone 4s rings before it goes to answerphone

Call you carrier and ask them how you can change this.  The number of rings before voicemail kicks in is set by your carrier.  Some have the option to do it from your phone if you know the sequence of codes to send, but you need to ask your own carrier how to do it for their system.

  • Amount of rings before divert to voicemail

Does anyone know whether you can alter the amount of rings you can ignore before the N73 diverts to voicemail? So far I've only managed to answer my phone 3 times - the rest have either rung off or diverted to voicemail. People think I'm ignorning them!

You can set the divert using this code at when at the standby screen :
    *61*[Phone Number]*11*[Time]#
[Phone Number] is the number you want to divert to
    [Time] can be either 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 seconds

I want to make calls go to voice mail after 3 or 4 rings. Right now it is taking about 5 to 6 rings. Can I make this change?
    Thank you!

I'm sorry to see your co-worker was not able to reach you kaokim. We know how important it is to be able to receive and make calls in a reliable manner. I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.
As advised earlier in the thread, there is a specific time it will ring, and it can't be changed. However, to make sure you're provisioned correctly, make sure call forwarding is disabled by calling *73.
