Only a grey empty box in browser window

I only get a grey empty box in my browser windows, when I start the HTML-pages with the java applet "HelloWorldApplet" from the "my first cup of java" tutorial from the java-sun pages.
What can I do?
Other java applets work fine.
I have activated Java 2.
And the 4 programms from the java web start and other applets work fine.
It is only the one, that I compiled.

The Sun Java Console, that I can start from my Windows-browser does not output anything.
Looks like I got stuck here, right at the beginning.

When i right-click and select 'view image info', that info box and browser window lock up, have to manually close firefox to reinstate the browser

when i right click and select 'view image info', that info box and the browser window lock up. i have to manually close firefox to reset the browser and gain access. sometimes, i have multiple firefox browsers open when this happens, and both browsers lock up, and all three (both browsers and the image info window have to close down together..

Safari 3.1 launches but no browser window

Hello there, I accidently updated my safari 3.0.4 to 3.1 during my last software update. When I launched Safari I only got the menubar but no browser window. I've read about 3.1 causing a lot of trouble that's why I never wanted to install it. So far, I've checked permissions, trashed Safari 3.1 and the safari31pkg and emptied cache. I've copied over a 3.0.4 version from another machine but that won't give me back my browser window. How can I fix this without losing all my usernames?
The machine involved is a G4/733 running 10.4.11 and latest security update.

Go to these 2 locations to see if you have any 3rd party extensions and move anything present in them onto your Desktop to deactivate them:
Hard drive -> Users -> YourUsername -> Library -> InputManagers
Hard drive -> Library -> InputManagers
Restart Safari to pick up the change. If it works now, you can try moving the items back one by one until you find the culprit.
If that doesn't work, one quick test you can do to help narrow down things is to try Safari in another user account.
This will help us to know whether your problem is local to your account or system wide. If you don't have another account you can use System Preferences -> Accounts -> \[+\] to create a test one (and \[-\] to remove it if needed)

Open URL in current browser window

I'm developing an application that works side-by-side with the user's default web browser. The browser communicates with the app through a proxy, and that works great. The issue I'm having is going the other way. So far, I've only been successful opening a new browser window each time. However, it would be much better to be able to open a page in the current window/tab. I mainly want this to work with Firefox (or anything other than IE). Has anyone ever done this, and is this even possible with Java?

Desktop.getDesktop().browse() is what I'm using currently. I don't think you understood my problem. Currently it is opening in a new browser window. In Firefox, it's opening in a new tab, since I have it set to open in a new tab instead of new window. But, what I want it to do is open in the CURRENT tab. In other words, navigate from the current page to a new page, just as if the user had typed in an address into the address bar and pressed enter, or just as if he had clicked a standard link on the webpage.

Design Studio Scripting function "refresh" to reload the BI LaunchPad Browser Window and solve the automatic adjustment

Hi experts,
I have created a Design Studio application with GridLayout Components to ensure the automatic adjustment.
In the local mode everything works fine! If I maximize or minimize the browser window the automatic adjustment of the design studio application works absolutely correct.
If I execute the same Design Studio Application in SAP BI LaunchPad the automatic window adjustment works only fine if I refresh the Browser window after minimize or maximize.
Example:
Mnimized and refreshed Browser window (good):
Maximzed and not refreshed Browser window (bad):
To fix this issue, Is there a workaround with a scripting funtion (e.g. ".refresh") to give the user the possibility to reload the browser window by a button or icon?
By the way, the issue and the Todo "Refresh" is valid in Design- and Runtime!

Isn't this issue fixed in 1.2 SP1?
In any case if you want to manual refresh you have to redraw the chart, this can be achieved by,
reloading data source,
change some selection in the chart,
or change the data source, (apply filter,swap dimensions etc.)

Open Browser window not working in IE8

This site: http://www.addieville.com/ruger.htm works fine in all browsers, including IE6 and IE7. However, when I checked IE8 and click on a link, it does nothing. The only way to get the another browser window to open is to right click on the link and choose open in new window. What is my problem? (or better, IE 8's problem...)

One thing I noticed is that you're using a script called minmax.js. Presumably, this is to emulate min-width, max-width, etc on IE. This is needed only for IE6. Since IE7, Internet Explorer has supported minimum and maximum widths and heights. The script is generating an error in IE8.

Open Browser Window Action changes main window also

I am using the Open Browser Window action on an <a> tag (href) and not only does it open a new browser window, it also changes the content of my main window to the linked page. I can't figure out how to make it stop doing this! Any help? (fyi - I am an HTML rookie, so be gentle)

Without seeing the code it's more difficult to explain. But basically if you look at the code just change the href to "#" instead of the linked page. That should solve the issue.

Layer to fill Browser window W100% H100%

How can I make I layer fill the browser window with a color?
I already have the W100% and H100% but it only fills the
Width of the browser window and not the hight.
Any ideas what I need to do?

I am not sure what your problem is, can you give more details.
One possibility is you may be in full screen mode, for details on fixing that see the [[menu bar is missing]] article.
If you are missing various toolbar items, see the [[back and forward or other toolbar items are missing]] article.
If your problem is something else please give more details.

When I open a second Firefox browser window, the URL address window, instead of showing the URL, says "Go to a Web Site;" also, and more importantly, the "back" button is greyed out. This is a new problem, and the first Firefox window I open works fine.

After I open the first Firefox browser window, any additional window I open does not open my homepage, but opens a blank page with "New Tab" showing on the tab. An orange "Firefox" tab with a drop down arrow shows at the upper left hand corner of the screen. All of the options (File, Edit, etc.) are greyed out, however they will work if you move your cursor over them.
The URL address window says "Go to a Web Site". After I've gone to a website, the back button remains greyed out and I am not able to go back to a previous page. My RoboForm and Netcraft toolbars only show up in an abbreviate form. The add-on bar doesn't show up at all.
Again, this is a recent problem, and only happens after I've opened one browser window (which works fine) and then open additional browser windows (as few as one additional).

I had this same problem. Seems to be caused by the web developer tool bar FF extension (this started happening after a recent update to that extension). After disabling it, my FF is back to normal :)

Just go to iCloud on your iPad. Click on delete account - this will delete the account on your iPad only. You will be given to keep the addresses and calendar or delete the data.
Then you create your new account on you iPad by entering your apple id.

Creative Cloud Desktop displays only empty box

Anyone else have a little white box, top left of browser window???

After the new big update, (that still wont allow changing the color of the arrange window...) I notice I have a little white box top left of my browser window, in logic of course, that actually only shows up while cursor is moving. Not a big deal, but I feel it may be associated with a new problem. The browser window is how i usually go through my personal samples, not apple loops. And normally, I open the folder, and play the first file via space bar, or little speaker icon. Then I just arrow down, as fast or slow as i please, and they continue to play, without having to hit space bar or speaker icon. No longer. I have to hit play at every file, UNLESS I manage to skip to the next before current is done playing. Not a huge problem, but when your riffling through a folder with 300 kick drums that are only a half a second long, it can ruffle your feathers. I dont recall ever setting a prefference or a setting, but perhaps one exists..? Any help would be appreciated.

As for the spacebar problem you are having... Not happening here... unless I put the focus on the arrange window.. Click on one of the sample in the browser window and then the focus is on the browser window and the spacebar starts playing the samples... and not the project.
