Hi Creator Team,
I have been using JSC2 for 8 hours today, as I getting close to UAT and doing a lot of work in it. My patience is wearing very, very, very thin with this tool.
How may times should a developer with a decent PC have to restart both IDE and AppServer during an 8 hour day??!! 1.3gig of RAM and 2.79GHZ processor should be adequate!
Being a VB guy for 12 yrs (I know how you guys loathe Microsoft), I could leave this open up for days. Granted, it wasn't using a local web server.
Any chance of working on a bare bones app server that doesn't need to be rebooted constantly??

Our company webserver is Websphere, so I doubt I will have much luck trying to get Tomcat up and running. Can only ask and get shot down in flames !!
As for why I have to stop and start, it is becase appserver just brings pc to a halt after a couple of hours usage. Also, I have to restart IDE to pick up new property bindings.
If the Creator Team get memory problems, websphere and property bindings sorted, they have a winner. Not asking much, am I ?

After updating to iOS 5 today, i was able to get my iphone working with virtually no problem. The issue i am having is that after i finished with my phone, i tryied to do the same with my ipad. Everytime it is plugged into itunes, it keeps saying it needs to restore over and over again. I have done this about 20 times today and have lost it. I can't sync anything with it, especially my music or calendars. Anyone know of a solution?

Firefox has crashed for me about 5 times in a 20 min span. A total of about 10 times today. What's wrong with it? Is it my laptop? Sometimes as soon as I open it, it just crashes.
I started my work in safe mode still facing the same problem.

Then it should still be under warranty, so make an appointment at your local apple store and have them take a look at it.
If that's not a possibility and you want to troubleshoot, what do you mean by 'just stopped working'? What were you doing? Maybe some more info could help with troubleshooting. -

I know, I always do that but I was in a rush to get somewhere and I was relying on my thousand dollar Mac to do some kind of recovery or something. I know Microsoft always keeps temporary files (I think Mac does too, part of me asking here in this forum was for someone to tell me where I can find those files) and when you go to open Office Works then it gives you the option of opening the last recent documents, saved or not saved.
I usually copy paste into my emial just in case something goes wrong with the created document but I just didn't have the time to login and do all that My loss, you live and you learn, BUT still if ANYONE got any info on this, PLEASE DO CHIME IN *keeping the hope alive* -
I have an imac osx 5 months old. For the first time today I can not open my desktop folders which are very important to me. How can I open these folders.
The message when I click on the folder is "appleworks 6 quit unexpectedly". I can not open the folder. Is it possible that new software installed could cause the problem when I get the message "new softward available for your computer, install now. Maybe I should never install upgrade. I understand code injected into a specific app like safari that uses the global environment variable to access the code in /Users/Shared. But I don't understand how that code could be executed by attempting to run an randomly chosen ppc app. Unless of course other code has been injected is in a more critical place than just safari and that is scary.
Some of this was explained to us a few weeks back by an infected user who reverse engineered the code, working with Intego to figure out why he was being re-directed on Google searches. At the time, nobody believed much of anything he was saying, but F-Secure explains it more fullly in this analysis. Note that there is a filter component to keep it from loading code into apps that would be unstable, so watch for the next variant to filter out ppc only apps.
In a related matter, I got word from the PC side of the house that similar techniques are being used by drive-by infections that were injecting code into a running app which would disappear when they quit the app. A one-time infection, so to speak. Makes it really hard to even know you were temporarily infected, let alone how, why, what damage, etc. -

It sounds unlikely of course. But from your question it's hard to tell what might have filled your HDD. Are you constantly on file sharing or has filled the drive with movies?
Best way to tell is to start checking what folders occupy space. "Get Info" for the HDD and its subfolders is a way to start checking where the data in question resides.
And as BGreg say, call Apple support is also a good way to begin with. -

Thanks. That app you recomended worked like a charm and FCP X is running incredibly smooth again.
It was slowing playback horribly, slipping audio, and crashing to the point it was almost non-functional and I was about to go back to FCP7.
I also heard someone mention to change clips so they don't display audio waveforms unless you need to see them if you are having buggy playback issues.
What a difference trashing the pref's seems to make. Hope I haven't spoke too soon. -

Had to restart router every time to connect to wifi
Just got a new Mac Book Pro which had a wifi connectivity problem from day 1. Every time the computer went standby or restarted, the airport connection was lost. When I run network diagnostics, I was asked to restart networking device. If I unplug and plug router power cord, the computer would detect the network change and connect properly, but then next time I have to do it all over again. Apple support told me to delete some network preference files and it didn't work. I use a d-link router that has the latest firmware and works fine with all other computers/ipad/iphones etc.. Can anybody tell me how I can address this problem? Thanks!

Have a MX470. Only faxed about 15 times 10 of those not successful. Now it won't send fax
Bought a MX470 less than a year ago. Canon by phone helped me set it up. Worked a few times now it won't send out a fax. Printed out Activity Report. Mixtures of Modes TRANSMIT, AUTO RX, MANUAL TX, MANUAL RX. Only about 5 went through in the result column and the mode was transmit. The remaining results indicate NG with the above Modes changing each time. What have I done?

Please ensure that the phone line attached to your printer has not become disconnected from the unit. Once this has been verified, you can try disabling the dial tone detect function of the fax to see if this will allow you to fax successfully. To do this, please follow these steps from the operation panel of the unit:
1. Press the FAX button.
2. Press the SETUP button (looks like a pair of pliers and a screwdriver).
3. Use the left/right arrow buttons to select FAX SETTINGS, then press the OK button.
4. Use the left/right arrow buttons to select ADV. FAX SETTINGS, then press the OK button.
5. use the left/right arrow buttons to select DIAL TONE DETECT, then press the OK button.
6. use the lef/tright arrow to select OFF, then press the OK button.
7. Press the FAX button to return to the main fax screen, then attempt to fax again.

Close all apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps in the Task Bar down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.
