Only hear sound from one speaker

I have been going nuts trying to find help on this. There were some but not exactly the same. So here is my dilemma.
I am capturing miniDV footage from my camera (Sony DVR PC 330) and used a Sennheiser MKE 300 Shotgun Video Camera Mike to capture audio. Then I captured in into FCE and also Toast 6. Both only produced audio on the left side. Now I checked the speakers, used headset and it was the same. I listened to iTunes and audio from other sources and both speakers and headset worked fine on both sides. Only bringing in from my camera did the sound from only the left speaker. So it's my camera or external mic. Well, I checked that too and I listened to the tape with headsets and heard everything fine on both sides. So the tape has all the audio. So could it be that the firewire is bad? Or is there something I have overlooked. Last week I imported a CD into FCE and produced a CD of audio that was fine. So the program is not at fault I would think. Any ideas would be great.

Panning on audio . . . . .>
The panning is set all the way to the left and shows -1. But this is the default setting. As when you click the little red (x) it will go to the left. And I just opened another project that works fine and it is all the way left with -1. If I move that sequence it sound less full with not bass or something, it just isn't right. So not sure this is the solution. And now I have to go out of town for a few days so will look forward to any other thoughts you all have when I return. Keep thinking

  • I can only hear sound from one side of the head phone

I've plug in my bass guitar through a cord and a converter in the line in port on my PC. Then checked 'listen to this device' (head phone) which is connected properly as it worked perfectly when I play any sound in ma PC. But when I play my guitar, I can
only hear it from one side of the head phone. How to fix it!?

Is that compatible to give output from both sides (R + L) ? Can you check same thing on other system ?

  • HT201401 Only hearing sound from one headphone?

I only receive sound through one headphone, but have tried different headphones and the same problem exists. Any ideas on fixing the problem?

    (Found this by another user)
"You simply need a replacement headphone jack. The problem is one of the contacts in your headphone jack (the metal that touches the plug on your headphones) got bent/damaged/etc. Replacing the headphone jack should do the trick.
You can probably get it sent somewhere for servicing as well. You also have various options of trading it in or selling it, etc.

  • Help I Can only hear sound from my juke b

can anyone help me i think i screwed up my computers sound and i dont know how. I can only hear sound from musicmatch jukebox when i play a song. i cannot hear sounds from any of my games or othe applications. please help me!

Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
    Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
    Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
If the issue is not resolved, please contact Apple Support.

  • IPod touch audio issue: why do I only get sound from one channel in my ear-pods?

After upgrading my brand new iPod touch 5th generation to IOS 6.1.2 I only get sound from the right channel of my ear-pods.
I did not have this issue with IOS 6.1.1. Is this a problem derived from new IOS? Any idea on how to solve it?
    Appreciate your help!

Have you tried other headphones? If you confirmned it is an iPod problem:
    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

  • Playing back Recorded TV Programs using Windows Media Player and only hearing Sound from Front Speakers

    Hi All,
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit Service Pack 1 with Windows Media Player 11 installed.
When I click on one of my Recorded TV Programs to watch and hear, I can only hear the Sound coming from the Front Speakers.
When I right-click on the Program and open it up in Real Player Cloud. I can indeed watch the program and hear Clear Sound coming from all 5 Speakers plus the Subwoofer.
What setting do I change to use Windows Media Player and have sound coming from all 5 Speakers and the Subwoofer?
    Thank you!

    Hi Andreas,
    Thanks for the reply.
The link you put up, takes me to the page, but
"The requested URL /surround/www_lynnemusic_com_surround_test.wma was not found on this server."
    That was WaterFox.
    The webpage cannot be found
    This in Internet Explorer 11.0
The Files in question were Recorded by Beyond TV to my Local Hard Drive.
When I open the recording in Real Player Cloud, installed on my computer, not streaming over the Internet, I hear it correctly played.
When I use Windows Media Player, nothing can be heard from the Rear Speakers.
Speakers and Hardware are working fine.

  • Only Getting Sound From Left Speaker/Earbud

I don't know what's wrong with my Nano, but I've tried the R's and they aren't working.
Basically, there's no sound coming from one of my speakers/earbuds. At first, I thought it was a problem with my earbuds, so I got new ones, and it still didn't work. And then I tried plugging my IPod into my portable speakers, and only one speaker works. I really don't understand. Help Please?

That is very interesting.... I have 2 ideas (meaning they probably will not work but try them anyway)of how you can get the sound correct.
    1. try putting sound check on ( if it is on, then put it on then off. if that doesn't work, go to step 2...
    2. try restoring the ipod(*MAKE SURE YOU CAN GET THE SONGS BACK EASILY BECAUSE THIS MAY NOT WORK, IT'S JUST AN IDEA!*)
    Good Luck!

  • Sound from one speaker

  • Earbuds only have sound from one bud

Are the ear pods with remote and mic only supposed to have sound coming through one earbud?

I just bought them, they're pushed completely in, I fiddled with the wires as posted from other people and checked the sound settings.  The blue bar is completely highlighted from L to R.  After reading all the other posts, I think there's a manufacturer's problem with the buds themselves.  If you have any other suggestions, I'd appreciate them, otherwise I'm taking them back tomorrow.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Faulty sound from one speaker due to jack plug on unit

    Hi
I realize that my system is prehistoric (Cambridge Desk Top Theatre 5.1 DTT2200) but it works fine EXCEPT for one problem - the centre speaker doesn't have any sound
I have checked the integrity of both the speaker itself and the cable by swapping around so it must be down to the jack plug on the back of the unit
    Any suggestions?
Would it be worth taking the bass unit apart and seeing if there is a loose connection or something? Or would I risk destroying the unit completely?!
Although the system is old, I imagine that the problem would be relevant to later systems too
    Many thanks
    bobbycow

You probably already checked in system preferences (lightswitch with apple on it) that on the output tab under sound the balance is set to the middle? I've seen where this has, for no apparent reason, moved to one extreme. If that's not the issue, you can try resetting the PRAM: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379

  • Can only hear sound out of one ear in iPod 30gb

My nephew can only hear sound from one ear of his headphones.
    1) he's not becoming deaf and we've tried multiple pairs of headphones that give the SAME result.
    2) the volume settings are correct, so its not that.
What are the options here? Is there a known fix? If its a hardware issue, can Apple do anything (free under warranty or repair with charge)?
    Thank you for your help!

maybe that the file only offers one audio track. have tried other players to play it?

  • Sound on one speaker only

Last night, while using iChat with another Mac user I was only getting sound from one speaker (right). Both speakers work with iTunes so it's not my hardware (I don't think it is anyway). Could this just be poor bandwidth?
    Thanks.
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Hi MacBoy70,
This is the iChat software preventing you getting feedback as the MacBook Pro internal Mic is in the left hand speaker grill.
