Only inbox, where is sent and trash?

I recently got an iOS4 and unlike my old 3GS, when I go to mail there is only the inbox and no sent mail or trash. If I send an email from my iPhone I can't see it and if I save a draft I can't find it. There is the option to move mail from my inbox into either sent or trash but I can't find where they went. Anyone else have this problem?

If you launch the Mail app and hit the back button until you are at the Mailboxes screen, you should see your mail account listed in both the Inboxes and Accounts sections. If you click on the mail account in the Accounts section you should see the Trash and Sent folders in addition to the Inbox. (If you click on your mail account in the Inboxes section, then only the Inbox will be visible.)

When in mail i would like to move my emails to a different folder on mail account other than the inbox, sent and trash options, can i  create a new folder?

The suggestion above is for MailBoxes on the Mac in the mail app and have nothing at all to do with the iPad. I think that you are asking about the iPad mail app.
You need to have an IMAP email account in order to create additional mailboxes on the iPad.
If you go to your email account in the Mail app and look at the window where your inbox, trash folder and sent folder are - if there is an Edit button at the top of the window - tap that and then tap Add Mailbox at the bottom.
If the Edit button is not there - you cannot create folders on the iPad. Your email account is not IMAP. Only IMAP email accounts can create folders on the iPad. Any folders that you would already have in an IMAP account would sync to the device as well.

  • I have an iPhone and use Roadrunner as my email server. When I open RR it gives me 4 choices, inbox, drafts, sent and trash.  I would like to add saved, how can I do this.  I contacted RR and they said it is an Apple problem to solve.

Roadrunner is POP email, and the feature you are looking for
is a function of IMAP email. Roadrunner has not announced
any plans to make IMAP available. If this is important to you,
get a gmail account (which can be setup as IMAP)  and configure
your Roadrunner account to automatically forward emails to the
    gmail account.

  • Can anybody tell me how to create other mailboxes besides inbox, sent and trash on my iPhone4?

can anybody tell me how to create other mailboxes besides inbox, sent and trash on my iPhone4?

You can't create any mailboxes directly on your phone. Mailboxes/Folders have to be created on the mail server, then synced to your phone. This requires an IMAP account, as such is not possible with a POP account. Sounds like you have a POP account, if so you cannot create any mailboxes/folders.

  • Can someone confirm that "Sent" and "Trash" can hold more than 200 email?

Can some confirm that Mail on iPad/iPhone
can hold more than 200 email in the "Sent" and "Trash" folders, and that
setting "Show 200 Most Recent Msgs" affects only the size of "Inbox" ?
    Thanks in advance.
(The ISP offers only a POP server; no IMAP or MS Exchange.)

Check the bit rate for your songs. If 200 songs use up 7GB, they must be in a large bit rate format.
In iTunes, highlight a song and click on File/Get Info/Summary and check the Kind, Size and Bit Rate. Apple's figures for the number of songs on an iPod is based on a four minute song at 128Kbps.
I have a song in three different formats  in my iTunes Library. Notice the difference is Size for the different formats. The song is 3 minutes 55 seconds long.
Kind is AAC audio file. Size is 7.5MB. Bit Rate is 256Kbps
Kind is Apple Losslesss audio file. Size is 20.8MB. Bit Rate is 738Kbps.
Kind is AAC audio file. Size is 3.8MB. Bit Rate is 128Kbps
Notice the enormous difference. I believe the iTunes Store now sells MP3s in 256KBps format, wheras they used to be in 128Kbps MP3 format. For a given Bit Rate, the MP3 format is about the same size as Apple's AAC format.
So you will need to check several songs, because there will be a variety, I'm sure.

  • "Sent" and "Trash" mailboxes not syncing across devices

My "In Box" syncs across devices, but the "Sent" and "Trash" boxes do not. How do I ensure that all my mailboxes are syncing across all my devices, so that conversations can move back and forth regardless of which device I am using at the moment?

  • HT1668 How do I create a new folder on my iPad & iPhone email mailboxes, when my provider is RCN?  All I have is Inbox, VIP, Sent, and Trash.

How do I create a new folder on my iPad & iPhone email mailboxes, using RCN as my Internet provider?

Actually, you can create additional mailboxes directly on the iPad. I have done it in 3 differemt IMAP accounts. But you do have to have IMAP email. However as stated above, this is not a function of the mail app.
If you had an IMAP email account, any additional mailboxes that you already had set up would have synced to the iPad and you would see them in your email account in the Mail app.
if you want to see for yourself.....

  • More than Inbox, Sent and Trash?

Is it possible to create other mailboxes? How do I organize my read messages other than have them all in the inbox?

You have to use an IMAP email account, then create the folders at the server level and they will show up on your phone also(access your account from Safari)

  • How can I add a Mail folder with the "Inbox, Sent, and Trash" folders?  I have Windows 8.1

After I installed the 7.0.6 update, my iPhone crashed & had to do a restart.  I saved my Contacts.  I've been syncing my iPhone to store data on my PC instead of iCloud.  I'm assuming all of my pictures etc. are in the iPod Photo Cache, which I cannot open since they are THMB files.  How can I view all of my "lost" data without having to pay for the "Converter" program, which according to many of the people in my boat, say doesn't work & is a rip off?  I'm also trying to put an "Archive" folder back in my Mail folder.  I've tried to follow instructions but my iPhone 7.1 does not have the same options.  All of this is so frustrating.....load an upgrade & screws a lot of stuff up.  Just like "Trust this computer?" on 7.0.6 update.  Anyway, I hope someone can help with these minor problems.
    Thank you.

Not in Mail. If you referring to not having to use the menu, you can click the + sign at the bottom to create new mailboxes. But you still have to fill in the window with location and name. You can right click to create a new mailbox on an existing one, but not in the main account itself and you still have to fill in the info. It would create a sub folder.
You can also try it at the gmail website. There might be shortcuts there.

  • My IPad shows I have 1.1GB of mail and attachments. What am I not seeing? I have went into each account and deleted messages from all folders (inbox, sent and trash). It still shows that I have that much space used.

I could really use some help. Probably an easy fix, but I can't seem to figure it ou.

    Hello Kizzyk,
I would start with taking a look at the settings to make sure that you are able to send and receive messages. If everything looks good then the next step would be to remove the accounts and add them back in. Take a look at the article below for more information and details on how to troubleshoot your issue further.

If you are using an IMAP mail account, you can do the deletion using any mail app, or web mail app on your computer.  The Apple iOS Mail app, currently only allows "Delete All" as an option for your trash folder.
I haven't tried this, but in theory, you could go into the email settings and point your trash folder to a specific folder on the mail server, then use the trash "delete all" option on your iphone.  Yes, that's cumbersome, and a clunky kludge, but if it works, it might be faster than manually deleting many emails.  Are you also aware of the Apple "delete shortcut" in their email app?  Just select an email and swipe it to the left so that your finger/thumb goes off the screen and it should delete the email (or at least pop-up an option to delete it.  I use this option to quickly delete a number of junk messages I get daily.

  • IMS 5.2 only creates inbox and trash on login

    Hello,
It appears that when I try to login via imap with a new account only inbox and trash folders are created. If I log in with webmail all folders including sent and drafts are created. Any insight would be helpful.

Queue files are simple, flat text files. File names encode a combination of delivery attempts and received timestamp.
ZZ is the prefix all new messages get. If we try to deliver once, and fail, the name is decremented to ZY. Each delivery attempt after that devcrements the name again, so you can get a full history of delivery from the filename.
The file itself is text readable, and will have delivery information appended to the end of the file. You should have no difficulty reading such.
imsbackup can do incremental backups, and such, but may not have the granularity you 're looking for.
in the store. message files are stored in hashed directories, based on the file names. message 1 to 99 is stored in a 00 directory. 100-199 in 01, etc.
As long as you're careful not to overwrite file names, you can put files in the correct places. You will need to manually deal with this.
After moving your *.msg files, you will need to reconstruct -r to get the server to recognize the message files.

With the site on display, click on the site identity button (for details on what that is see [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Site+Identity+Button]) and then on More Information. This will open up the page info dialog.
First select the Permissions panel, make sure that "Load Images" is set to allow (selecting Use Default should also work)
Next select the Media panel, then click on the first item in the list. Use the down arrow key to scroll through the list. If any item has the option "Block images from (domain name)" selected, de-select the option.
This should hopefully resolve your issue, but also see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Images+or+animations+do+not+show
Some add-ons can also block images, for example if you have AdBlock Plus installed, make sure that you have not accidentally created a filter to block the images.
