Only keep clips and delete the rest!
I have 6 different hard drives with various different sporting events which I have used to make a 3 min highlight video. I would like to erase all of the drives and free them up for use and only keep the 3-5 second clips on one external hard drive. Every attempt has proven useless because it says the media goes offline. I am sure this will be a fairly easy solution, however is escapes me currently.

We'll I don't think there's a easy way to delete a lot of emails besides deleting all of them. To delete all of them click on inbox them edit then "mark all" then trash/delete. Other than that you will have to specifically deleted the ones you want to delete.

to delete some seconds within one clip I make two cuts and delete the first piece of clip together with closing the gap.
Is there a possibility to combine these steps eg by holding a key combination?

after trimming the clip from the beginning (okay, instead of ripple trim) I am deleting two parts of the clip, each time by cuting the clip 2x and deleting the middle piece.
It would be cool to make only one cut (the second one) together with deleting the part before.

How do I keep only the cropped portion of a clip and trash the rest?
Before getting my new Macbook, I was using iMovie3. When I would crop a file, only the highlighted portion was kept and the rest of the clip was sent to the trash. With iMovie HD, it is my understanding when you crop a clip, the information outside the cropped area is stored somewhere - how do I send this unneeded portion of the clip to the trash? I have used up almost all the memory in my new computer and don't know how to free up space without deleting the entire clip.

You can't: As standard. iMovie is a "*non destructive editor*" - means it stores
the Capture/Imported material in one place and Your cutting, editing etc. is just
a text document refering onto how this material is to be viewed.
Even if You only usesed one frame from an hour long import - all of it will be
saved for futhure changes. (1 hour = about 13Gb of space)
You can: Send movie back to Camera and a new miniDV tape. Then start a new
project from this - and delete Your old project.
This will free up space - but You lose the ability to adjust the prior editings,
texts and so on.
Alt is to save as full quality QT.mov and start a new project from this. Still
what's done is done - but You jump the Camera step. (I have the feeling of that
I get a quality loss this way - but several in this forum disagrees)
Advice:
1. Try to Capture/Import about what You need and not just dump in several hours of
material for a few minutes movie.
2. I use a hugh external FireWire hard disk (Mac OS Extended formatted) to store
my movie projects and a minimum of 25Gb free space on my internal (start-up) one.

Tap and hold on any message in the thread. Tap "More" in the pop up menu. Select the message(s) you want to delete. Tap the trash can in the lower left corner.

Above is the program that when it has 1 argument in the -notmatch part will find the specific string and delete the entire line. I need to be able to use multiple strings for my search, I am totally drawing a blank on this and I know its something REALLY

When I drag an image over a clip to try and get picture in picture the options it gives me are only insert replace and delete not the picture in picture option how do i get the picture in picture option when i drag a picture over a clip?

I have a back up of the folder 'iTunes Media' on a Nas (LaCie CloudBox).
I do a weekly update.
Everything is cool.
Now I would love to keep the iTunes Mediafolder on the Nas and delete the one on my internal HD.
What kind of trouble I may run into?
Where are the hidden catches?
What can go wrong, and how can i undo any mistake?
I also have an iTunes Match acccount.

Read this user tip Make and keep a backup of your iTunes library, and only stream from the cloud.
Problems? No hidden catches. Whilst streaming using match, you will need a wifi connection. You main worry is that if your NAS drives fails, you need to redownload your music from match but this could take time depending on how large your collection is. Personally I keep an additional backup of all my music as a matter of course.

I previously uploaded images onto my desktop to work on in Lightroom 5.2. I worked on a few of the images days ago and just now getting back to them. My problem is I can only access the images I previously worked on and all the rest it says images not available but all the images are still right on my desktop.

How (or where in the manual are the instr) l) do i delete a part of a clip and rejoin the audio on each side. This is most frustrating. The join command is never available. If i select an area to delete everything above and below is deleted, whether or not its selected and whether or not its mute. I find in the manual only ways to move entire clips. I need to remove 2 words from a clip in one track.
i'm assuming your working in the multi-track mode since you didn't specify. select the razor blade tool and make two cuts to the audio, one where you want the cut to start, the other where you want the cut to end. select this smaller region that you want to delete and press the delete key.
now you'll have a gap of silence where that unwanted clip was. select the clip(s) to the right of the cut and drag them left. the default behavior is to do a cross fade when the clips overlap. you'll probably have to play with the cross fade amount in order to get it to sound natural.

No. Your iCloud account only includes your the camera roll photos stored in the backup. And they can only be accessed by restoring the backup to your phone. Also, if you delete any photos from your camera roll and continue to back up, the backup that contained the deleted photos would be overwritten by one that doesn't and they would be lost.
If you want to save some of them and delete them from your phone, import them to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
Another option is to import all of them to your computer and delete them from your phone, then put the ones you want on your phone in a folder and sync them back to your phone by selecting the folder on the photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing. The advantage of this approach is that synced photos are placed in an album called Photo Library, which is not included in the iCloud backup (since they are already backed up on your computer), thereby saving space in your iCloud account (which only backs up camera roll photos). -
I am having a big problem. I am not getting notifications from snapchat and only snapchat. I've made sure every notification setting was on and it just won't work. The simplest way to transfer everything is to copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from old computer to /Music/ on new computer.

I would like to use GarageBand to remaster downloaded music files that are in iTunes. Poorly mastered files keep clipping and damaging my speakers. When I try to use an iTunes file as a new project, it greys out the iTunes songs so I can't select them. Any ideas?
As I said - look whether your original file is damaged or not. If not, I wouldn't change it and find out what in your system makes it sound like it's clipping.
Good sound file, with volume maxed out. No need to change anything.
The same song clipped - no chance to repair.
