Only Keep photos after wiping iPhone

Ok so I want to restore my iPhone 4.
I am going to manually reinstall the apps I want and use iCloud to get my contacts, calendars and mail back.
The only thing I'm not sure of is my photos.
I don't sync my photos with anything in itunes and since I won't be restoring from a backup, having them in iCloud or backup with iTunes doesn't really matter,
Is there a way for me to get my 1500 camera roll photos back onto my iPhone after wiping it but without restoring it. Idealy I'd like them back in the camera roll and not in an album.
Thanks folks

iCloud only keeps photos in your photo stream for 30 days.  After that they are deleted, although they will remain on any device that has already received them.  However, if the device is ever replaced or restored and reconnected to your photo stream, it will only receive the photos that fall within this 30-day window (as the others have been removed).  As you can see, it's not designed for long-term storage or backup.  If you want to keep your photos permanently, regularly import them to your computer as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

  • How do I only have photos from my iPhone stream to my iMac?

How do I only have photos from my iphone stream to my iMac?  I just downloaded from my digital camera close to a 1,000 pictures from my vacation on to my iMac and they all streamed to my iPhone!  I don't want all those pictures on my phone.  Is there a way to only have the photo stream work in one direction?

Photos downloading to your iPhone usually come from Syncing with iTunes.  Look in the iTunes sidebar, click on iPhone under devices (must be attached).  Click on Photos tab across the top to review which Photos, albums, events etc are synced from iPhoto.

If you had Photo Stream enabled with your iCloud account settings on the iPhone, photos in the Camera Roll should have been transferred to your photo steam automatically when the iPhone was connected to an available wi-fi network.
Your photo stream is not available when logging in with your iCloud account with a browser on a computer.
Why were the photos in the Camera Roll deleted?
Photos/videos in the camera roll are included with your iPhones backup. If your iPhone's backup has not been updated since the photos were deleted from the camera roll, you can try restoring your iPhone from the backup.

  • Only some photos syncing from iPhone '09 to iPhone 3GS now

To troubleshoot, I only checked boxed a single album of about 250 photos to sync to iPhone.  When I do the sync only some photos within the album sync - some but not all.  Same with other photos albums too.  Does not matter if album is regular or "smart".  Never has this issue before now.  Lack of free space on iPhone is not the issue.
Rebuilt the iPhoto library by holding Command + Alt at launch and tried most of the options.  No luck.  Then tried all six check boxes in iPhoto.
    I'm using...
    OS X Lion 10.7.1
    iPhone 3GS with iOS 4.3.5
    iPhoto '09 (8.1.2)
    iTunes 10.4.1
I must be missing something basic (I hope).  Anyone know what's going on here?

I want to keep the photos on my camera disc after i import into iphoto- when I import and it asks me if I want to keep photos- i click on keep photos and it deletes them off my disc? How do I import and save photos?

When I import it makes you select either delete or keep photos on disc- I have tried both keep and delete and both options delete- are you saying I can by pass that last step of the import and not have to select either delete or keep?

  • Why can i only send photos to other iphone users?

my plan includes SMM sending, but i can only send photos to other iphones

Photos to other iPhone users are probably being sent as iMessages. Is the accompanying text in a blue text balloon? To ensure that MMS is enabled on your phone for regular phones, go to Settings, Messages, make sure MMS Messaging is on under SMS/MMS.

  • Only some photos sync from iPhone to iPad?

Over a 3 day period I took a dozen photos with my IPhone 4( w/ ios6).   All are on my camera roll although 2 transferred to my iPad ( new, also with ios6).   The same two show in Photo Stream on my phone.  On the iPad nothing shows in my photos but the same 2 show in photo stream.  One photo, taken a couple of minutes of the other two did not come through.  None of the ones from two days earlier are anywhere on the iPad???

But, for part of the photos, three were taken within a few minutes of one another with the iPhone on continuously.  Only 2 of the 3 went through.  Of the several from the previous day, none went through???    Marc

  • Photostream only shows photos taken on iPhone since turning on photostream

Can I move old photos into photostream?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Yes, only the photos taken after photo stream has been activated are added to the photo stream on an iOS device. If you want to add older photos to photo stream, you must do this on your computer.

  • Lost photos after syncing iphone 4 for the first time

I just connected my iphone4 to my pc for the first time and now my pictures are all gone (on both computer and phone). Any way to get them back?

Sounds like you performed a sync to an empty Outlook, correct? You never want to sync to an empty application. Doing so will erase the data on your phone. Before you do anything else, put one unique contact, calendar & note entry in Outlook.
As to restoring your lost data, the key question is have you performed a sync since the sync that erased your data? If not, restoring from backup will restore the data. If you have synced since that initial sync, your data is gone. So, if you have not synced, do this: First disable auto-sync in iTunes>Preferences>Devices(under the edit menu if using Windows). Connect your phone, right-click in the device pane & select "Reset Warnings". Right-click again and select "Restore from Backup". If prompted to create another backup, decline. When the restore completes, you must then sync to restore your iTunes content. You'll get a popup regarding your contacts, etc., asking to "Merge" or "Replace". Select "Merge".

  • HT201317 wiped iphone and icloud hasn't restored photos

i accidently had my iphone5 wiped when i updated and restored my phone. i logged back into my iCloud and all my contacts immediately came through and all my apps etc. i am however still waiting on my 700 pictures to come through. have checked all my info on my photos and have all the photostream back ups and automatic transfers all turned on so not sure why they havent come through?? can anyone help??

Photo stream only keeps photos in iCloud for 30 days, even though up to 1000 photo stream photos will remain on your device until deleted.  When you to your photo stream after restoring, you will only get back photos from the last 30 days, if there are any, as the others have already been removed.
Your camera roll photos are included in your iCloud backup.  If your photos were in your camera roll when you last backed up, restoring the backup should recover your photos.

  • HT201317 i have enabled photostream on my imac but only a small selection of old photos from my iphone have streamed through.  How do i get all the existing photos from both my iphone and ipad onto my iMac?

I have enabled photostream on my imac but only a small selection of old photos from my iphone have streamed through.  How do i get all the existing photos from both my iphone and ipad onto my iMac?

This usually happens because iCloud only keeps photo stream photos for 30 days (even though your last 1000 photos will remain on your phone until deleted).  When you enabled photo stream on your Mac you only received photo stream photos from the last 30 days.
To get older photos to your Mac, create a shared photo stream containing them and invite yourself as a subscriber (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99).  The be sure you check Shared Photo Streams in iPhoto>Preferences>Photo Stream.  You can then import them to your iPhoto library by opening the shared photo stream album in iPhoto, then going to Edit>Select All, Control-clicking on any of the selected photos and selecting Import.

  • How do i get my photo streaming from my iPhone to transfer to my iMac? i am signed into iCloud on the iMac but there isn't an option to check on iPhoto to stream the photos from my iPhone???

How do I get iCloud on my iMac to photo stream the photos taken from my iPhone? i have signed into iCloud on the iMac yet the check options for photos isn't highlighted where i can check it??? i am operating on Maverics OS X 10.9.4???

First, only the photos after the option is set for Photo Stream to work.
    iPhone:
Settings > iCloud > Photos: ON > My Photo Stream: ON
    Mac:
 > System Preferences... > iCloud > Photos Options... > My Photo Stream.
iPhoto > Preferences... > iCloud > My Photo Stream

  • Hi, I switched off photo stream in iphone in settings and as a result those photos even got deleted in iPad. How do I retrieve them? How to use this better to avoid such stuff?

I switched off photo stream in my iphone and as a result those 1 months photos got deleted on iPad. How can I retrieve them? How to avoid this in future?

This happened because iCloud only keeps photo stream photos in iCloud for 30 days, even though your last 1000 photo will remain on your device until deleted.  Turning off photo stream deleted them from your device; reconnecting to photo stream redownloads photos from the last 30 days (as older ones are no longer in iCloud).
To keep your photos permanently, import them to your computer while they are still in your camera roll, as explained here:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.  To save photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll so they can be imported too.

  • Missing photos after updating my apple software to iOS 7... Helppp

So I lost a load of photos that I had stored on my iPad whilst travelling after updating the software. They then returned on my photo stream, and then before I had the chance to save them to my camera roll, they disappeared again... Surely they must still be somewhere if they returned originally? Does anyone know how to get them back? Some stayed but quite a few are gone! They're my memories from months abroad :(

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photostream in the cloud only keeps photos from the last 30 days (subject to a 1,000 photo limit). When photostream syncs the photos to your device they will stay there (subject to a 1,000 photo limit) until deleted, which means you may well have more photos in your photostream album on your device than there are in photostream in the cloud.
The consequence of this is that if you turn photostream off and on again on your device (or enable it for the first time), it will only be populated with photos from the last 30 days, which may not be all the photos that were previously in the photostream album on that device.

  • Is there a way to transfer all of my photos in my iPhone's Photo Albums and Events to my new macbook?

My MacBook's hardrive failed. My only backup for iPhoto is on my iPhone. I bought a new MacBook Pro and I'd like to restore all the Photo Albums and Events from my iPhone. Is there a 3rd party app that is capable of this?
I downloaded iMacsoft to transfer music, books, etc. But it will only transfer photos in my iPhone's Camera Roll.

Are these photos on your iPhone?  Can you actually see them?  If so, then iCloud should see them as well.  All else fails, plug in the iPhone via a USB cable into the new Mac and iPhoto will launch showing you what photos you can import in.
Again, the old photos in question MUST be on the iPhone (i.e. you at one time sync'd your entire photo library to your iPhone, which to my knowledge also makes it available to the iCloud backup if you have enough room).
No, it is not easy to get synced photos back to the Mac. An iCloud backup does not include the synced photos nor the Photo Stream photos. See:
    iCloud: Backup and restore overview
One way to save the synced photos back to the Mac is to save them to the Camera Roll. This requires extra space on the device and much tapping, because it is not easy to save all photos at once to the Camera Roll. It would be easier with iPhoto iOS. Here you can share the the synced photos to iTunes and then save them using iTunes photo sharing on your Mac. In iPhoto you can select ranges of photos to share - much less tapping required.  See:  http://help.apple.com/iphoto/iphone/2.0/#blnk7d8f763e
Use your photos in any app by saving them to the Camera Roll.
Import photos directly into iPhoto or Aperture on your computer.
Save photos to your computer using iTunes.
Save photos to your computer using iTunes
Connect your iOS device to your computer.
Tap a photo, album, event, web journal, or slideshow and tap > iTunes.
Tap Selected, or change the photos you want to save (if you are saving a slideshow skip to step 4):
Select different photos: Tap Choose Photos, tap one or more photos, and tap Next.
Select a range of photos: Tap Choose Photos, tap Range, tap the first and last photos in the range, and tap Next.
Select all the photos in an album or event: Tap All.
In iTunes, click the button for your device and click Apps at the top of the window.
Below File Sharing, select iPhoto (in Apps).
Select the Shared Photos folder under iPhoto Documents.
Click Save To and select the location on your computer where you want to save the items.
To view your photos, go to the Finder and look in the location you selected above.
